"Ah, Te-" He of course was not allowed to finish his greeting as M'ta's daughter began scolding him for, what he had assumed was, a normal knock on the door and a slightly elevated inquiry. Crossing his arms in a way so that his small smile was blocked by a hand, the Brownrider let Teri continue, not wanting to interrupt. He'd heard from Ria that his sister wasn't terribly fond of him at the moment, so, the least he could do was take a little verbal chastising from the child. E'rro was going to let her close the door, and try knocking again but M'ta interceded first. There was a moment of pause before he stepped into the weyr as he waited for Terilyn to move enough so that there was space to move past her. "As I have been told." Smiling he greeted his friend with a pat on the shoulder. "I'm just the bad guy for a while, better myself than Rae or someone else. I just hope one day she will forgive me." He put a hand to his heart with a over dramatic expression.
"Ahh, yes," he perched on the arm of an open chair, "I'm practically Joined to it, considering these last weeks. Long story short, five of my staff are walking the tables and three of those are leaving to be Journeyman Healers. Its boring. I'd leave it to Rae if I could but I wouldn't hear the end of it if I did." E'rro smirked. "Anyway, I've got the day off," and by day off he meant on-call but not working, "and Rae is out with... a girl friend I think. Wanted to see if you were busy." Though he had not been expecting any of M'ta's kids to be there, it was assumed they were either off playing or doing some learning somewhere. "Have I caught you at a good time? I don't want to interrupt any big bad Weyrlingmaster responsibilities, or family time of course."
Then I think I will join you. Picking himself up the large Brown made the hop, the skip, and the jump it took to get to the ledge. He flopped down close to Behruth with a yawn, flicking his tail up to playfully bop his companion on the flank. Such a long journey, now I'm tired, the things I do to see you Behruth.

If he was the type of person inclined to sing the halls would be resounding with song. It had been a rough week for him at the infirmary, not solely because of injuries or emergencies, but because three of their Healing and two of their Dragonhealer interns walked the tables. Which meant both he and his Weyrmate had been tirelessly working at getting the three new Journeymen Healers all that they needed, while simultaneously dealing with the Healer hall on whether or not they would be receiving replacements among other things. He was only thirty some odd turns, but recently E'rro had begun feeling much older. Perhaps it was from the stagnation that had settled on the continents due to the new 'peaceful Pern'. Meetings were boring, Dragonhealing was generally never exhilarating, and it seemed most days Ismaroth was getting less and less content with just going out to fly. He was still a Wingleader, and if the rumors were true, he and Legatus still wrecked havoc on wrongdoers and spies. Those of course, always earned an amused snort from him whenever he picked up on a passing conversation.
E'rro sighed as he bounced a round ball of rubber against a wall of his weyr, watching as Nui tried to bat it away but ultimately fail to do so. After catching it he returned it to his nightstand and heaved himself off the bed with some effort. Everything seemed so much harder to do when he was bored. "Nui, I'm going out, let me know when Thross gets back." Okayokay. I stay, much full. Stay with Feather. His Razorclaw had left early this morning and had yet to return, and although he wasn't terriblely concerned yet, the Brownrider still would have liked to know when the bird had actually left. Are you going to Behruths'? Yeah. I need some entertainment, hopefully M'ta isn't busy with Weyrling stuff. I'll tell him to expect you over. Although he didn't see the point as they lived right next to each other, he shrugged quietly to himself. Their Browns were probably already engaged in talking previous to his decision.
Making sure he had all his necessities on him, he stepped out the door and traversed the short distance to his destination. Knocking on the frame the Brownrider waited to see if M'ta was actually at home, he wouldn't put it past Isma to trick him into thinking otherwise. "Hey M'ta, you there? Raebeli is out and I'm boorred."

The joints of his fingers cracked as he twisted them slightly in thought, it had become something of a bad habit in the recent years, something he did unconsciously every now and then. Opinions around the table yielded a variety of different tracks though many of them were agreeable in relation to one another. "Well then, I appreciate that many of you seem invested in the problems the Healers are facing. With what has been said, I can certainly draft a proposal as to what restrictions Raebeli and I would like to see lifted, and ultimately submit it to all of you for your viewing pleasures, upon which we can discuss the contents at our next meeting." It would be a lie if it were said that the Brownrider wasn't incredibly pleased. "If, of course, that is agreeable with everyone."
Though everything seemed to come back to the importance of the candidates that came from the Holds. "As far as asking... well, I don't see why we shouldn't. Mi'rah makes a point here. Even if we don't do anything with the information, just having it gives us data we can use in the future. Plus, when was the last time we checked on our the whole of our Hold Watchriders via anything other than reports?" E'rro himself often made trips out to visit his ex-healers when he could, or he at least kept in contact with them through letter exchange. "It allows us to see who is ill-content with where they are and through that, use it as a basis on who we may be able to recommend to the council as having a strong case for petition. Though I must say, I rather prefer the idea of sending the children back if they don't impress..."
"Regardless, I do not see why we are sitting here arguing who has more power over who." He switched his attention onto the youngest Bronzer among them. "Cr'oph, you and I were born and trained in a time of War. We were both brought up at Benden, taught the old ways of Weyr power and pride, and while what you say speaks to the loyalist and soldier in me... I am more inclined to swing my agreement the opposite way." He leaned forward slightly, spreading his hands in an open gesture, trying to show the younger man he wasn't trying to purposely single him out among the others. To further push his gesture, the Brownrider allowed his eyes to wonder over everyone there as he spoke. "Holds did and do hold power over us. They provide not only Candidates for our hatchlings but food and provisions as well. Tithes are a huge part of how we sustain Selenitas. I get most of my numbweed and herbs from our southern Holds, while my Needlethorns and antidotes come primarily from the Northern holds as their climate is more suitable to many of the perennial plants. And I'm sure some of you remember how difficult it was when the exiles were hiding, as we had to reduce ourselves to raiding to literally get enough to feed both dragons and humans alike."
"I'm not saying that Weyrs are not strong and immeasurably more powerful than Holds; we could 'take back our riders at the drop of a hat' as you commented Cr'oph, as well as deliberately not destroy the thread that falls... But that would be falling back to the ways of ruling by fear and threat that existed in the Dragon Wars. I think that many of us, especially those of us who literally grew up eating and breathing War, have never experienced what it was like to coexist with holds in a time of peace." A moment of surprise was visible as it flitted across his face, it was a sudden enough change of thought that Feather chirped in confusion as she woke from her nap.
"Agh. Why haven't I thought of this before." Turning slightly he addressed S'rei. "The records room." He paused, "Burimyu existed far before the times of War and although it was eventually abandoned, it seemed as though it had been extremely abundant. It is possible that they kept detailed records of their dealings with their surrounding Holds and the agreements that they may have come to. Perhaps those records may be of some assistance to us. Their old systems may lead us to new ideas for future discussions. You're right S'rei, that this is not yet the time for equality, but it wouldn't hurt to begin paving the way for it. If we are permitted access to the records room, maybe it could help both you M'gnum and you Cr'oph, with some of the things you both believe to be of import to the current and future survival of the Weyr."
It would also further his agendas, least of which was finally getting his hands on the old healing records. "Plus the Kymans have not yet been spotted this season, we can use this chance to seal the second entrance to the room and safety proof it." He sat back against his chair, "Just a thought."

Hey guys. As I am trying to get back into the big wide world of roleplaying, I feel as though I need threads to do so.
I'd like three in total, and since I'm already participating in one, that leaves two slots open.
So, if you want to rp with me, send me a message and I'll let you know. <3

His body shifted fractionally as he uncrossed his legs, stretching the ache that had gathered in them from sitting still too long. The green firelizard that perched on his shoulder cheeped softly and curled in closer hoping to return to the nap she'd been taking. With a sigh the Brownrider settled back into the chair, eyes closing for a moment before training them on S'rei. Meetings were not on E'rro's list of favorite pastimes, though he would hazard a guess many of the riders at the table felt the same way. As the only non-metalic rider present at the table, E'rro didn't pay much attention to those who spoke up about participating. There had never been a moment in his life as a rider where he had ever entertained the idea of becoming a Weyrleader, and he wasn't about to now. He was an ex-soldier, not a politician. As the attentions of those around the table briefly swept to him, E'rro lifted his hands and shook his head. "I won't be taking part. I'm sure the shinies will have a hard enough time winning the position without having to have me as a competitor." The half grin implied he was at least partially teasing the others. In the years since the war ended the Brownrider had managed to pick up the nuances of being humorous... well, at least for the most part. There were still some genres he had yet to comprehend.
As the talked turned from participation to new ideas for the summit, E'rro resigned himself to a more attentive sitting position. Elbow met table and fist met chin, propping his head up as he sat forward. Now this was a subject he actually had things to contribute to. Crafters and the holds didn't bother him as far as the current set up went, in fact he had to support the bad that prevented crafters from becoming riders. Though he took his time in jumping into the conversation, letting M'gnum and Cr'oph speak their minds first.
"I support much of what you said Cr'oph, but I have doubts in the holders make terrible riders claim. I personally have worked with and trained many Holdborn Riders who turned out to be respectably decent in terms of skill. We also have to face the facts that our population in general is low. Very few people had children during the war, and many of the children that would have been old enough by now, died during some of the tragedies. Supplementing the candidates with kids, even the older ones, temporarily every clutch is a necessity. Plus the more progressive Holds churn out candidates that are easily modifiable to Weyr culture. I believe that it is more of a specific regional situation than a general blanket problem." He took a moment before switching gears. "Though, that is not my main concern. I'd like to bring up the issues of restriction on the infirmaries and healing practices."
"I have been chomping at the bit in regards to these rules ever since they were instated. The Summit took away all of my best Healers and Dragonhealers and in return sent me a cart load of Hall trained Healers, some of which had never stepped foot in a Weyr before. Although I do not mind splitting even with Raebeli as far as who is who in the healing world, I hold particular spite for not being able to practice Healing just because I am a Dragonhealer." He itched the side of his cheek, making a face to underline his comments. "In other words, I'd like to see the the decriminalization of practicing the second part of the healing crafts for those who have been dual trained, as well as the reinstatement of training riders as Dragonhealers. Even if its a set amount." E'rro made a noise that fell somewhere between a growl and a sigh. "I can't stand the interns they send us. They just can't comprehend the complexities of healing a dragon like Riders can. It takes about twice the time to get them to the same level of a person whose been Impressed. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind giving them a work over, but sometimes its a real pain in the ass."

Although I am not writing a thesis like Lotty, I am righting a huge research paper along with attending seven classes a week. Finding a job is tough and keeping up with my homework is even tougher. I am also now a full active member of my sorority, and I will inevitabley take a little Sister... who will take up what little time I have left. Which means I'm generally MIA when it comes to Sel. I do check in every two or three days even if Im not signed in, and if people are lucky they might even see me post.
I think after midterms I will have a month of time where everything will slow down for a while. (then pick up when finals roll in) I can try to post once a week on mondays or wednesdays since that is when i have the most free time during my week. <3
I love you all and have not abandoned you. :3

There was a natural lull in his conversation when the rider to his left addressed him, albeit with a certain hesitancy. "I don't usually bite..." This was a response to the rider's present attitude. Shifting so that his body was angled slightly at the other man, he proffered a smile. "But I am fine, thank you. And yours?" A demanding squeak from Feather earned her more food. "The rest of us?" He continued. The Brownrider would be lying if he said he wasn't amused. "I certainly hope I am still considered a regular Dragonrider. I would assume someone would tell me otherwise." A day off meant high spirits and high spirits meant that E'rro was a rather amiable person. An opposite direction from the grumpy DragonHealer that stalked the Infirmary like a dragon himself. He turned his gaze away from the Rider to assist Feather with cleaning off the mashed tubers she had fallen into. "I generally do not come to the dining hall until later in the day, unless I take my food in the Infirmary or eat privately with my Weyrmate or friends." He offered a quick look before returning to his firelizard. "Being the Weyr DragonHealer has its perks."
Scrunching his nose as he shredded a little pile of fowl meat in front of the Green to keep her busy, the Brownrider tapped the toe of his boot in thought. Although the man himself wasn't familiar, his voice was. And then it came to him. "Aha. That is right. You are Tirneth's rider." Pause. "You will have to forgive me, I do not remember your name. I have gotten lax in memorizing non-dragon patients. My better half takes care of that." A bonus for being Weyrmates with the WeyrHealer. She dealt with the humans and he dealt with the draconids and together he was almost certain they could name most of the Weyr's inhabitants.
"You two came in a while ago for, hmm, something minor I believe." The memory was vague enough for him to not remember the what or how, but the who and when. "He is the large dark Brown with the tan colored spots and the single tipped tail, correct? I remember because he was larger than Ismaroth, who is no small Brown himself." The thought back to that day between bites of food. "Yes. And they are quite opposite colors as well."

Midday meal was always the busiest time for the dinning hall and E'rro normally tried to avoid eating amidst the hubbub and noise, but for now he made an exception. Yesterday had been long and exhausting but he was able to abuse his powers and gave himself the day off. Unfortunately he couldn't also give his Weyrmate the day off so he was as alone as a person with mindmates could be. Which, all said and done, wasn't very alone at all. As he eased through the isles, the Brownrider skillfully managed to get into line without bumping or jostling anyone. A feat to be sure, but one that he had long since mastered. But as he stood there in line petting his firelizard, the Dragonhealer watched the faces around him. So many young riders, so many new faces. He recognized the faces of a few who were only 5 months into their new lives as bondeds. Faranath he felt old. Dragonwise at least. How long had he been at new Selenitas now? Six or seven turns? Five at old Selenitas before that? Not to mention the turns he had been at Benden. Twelve turns as a wartime dragonrider made it feel twice as long. E'rro cracked a smile as he moved forward in line. If he felt like this, he could only just imagine what Iski and Els felt like.
The line was faster than anticipated and without much todo it was soon his turn for food. He conferred with Feather about what she'd like to have as they walked down the spread, filling his plate up with much of the basics before thanking the kitchenmaids and setting out to find a place to sit. And he found a welcoming seat next to a familiar Bluerider. Although the rider to his other side immediately scooted as far away from him as possible, eyes wary. He raised an eyebrow at the man but said nothing of it. There weren't very many people who hadn't at least heard of him, he was the Weyr Dragonhealer after all. If it wasn't that, it was his ex-black ops background. He lead a very active life, in the present and in the past. Turning to the Bluerider to engage him in conversation, E'rro placed Feather on the table and began feeding her. Being blind, she could no longer just eat from his plate like she used to.

"Ah, he is yes. Especially boisterous and helpful. He managed to pick up a healthier attitude toward Dragons in the North when he trained at the StoneCraft Hall. His name is Rasravil." E'iah blocked a yawn with the back of his hand. "As for the Mastersmith... I'd say he was friendly. In a large, lumbering bear sort of way. Like R'ven, only older, more muscled, grumbley and stoic. S'why I call him Master Bear. I dunno. 'Suppose he's the type of person you want his approval from, and he doesn't make it easy for you." Stretching, he popped his wrist. "But he doesn't go out of his way to make things difficult. He's dedicated to the job and he's been at it since before I was born. Da and him don't mix well, but I've always found him interesting to watch. He's never chased me off either, even gave me sweets a few times at Solstices when I was a little." He did like the man.
"Though he's not too fond of Dragons. Which, is an extra bump in the road. Even before he lost his Brother to the Dragon Wars, he wasn't too keen on them." As he rubbed his chin, the Bluerider reflected on how difficult it had been to get the old man to warm up to him again. It had taken work but eventually he received all his usual growls and grumps when he interacted with him. "I'm sure you'll win him over. He's got a natural affinity towards womenfolk. If he likes you he'll get all papa bearish."
Jumping about a foot into the air as Koulko jumped over his shoulder and into his lap from out of thin air, E'iah couldn't help but make a noise. It took him a moment to recover though it took the feline less to curl up and make himself at home in the Bluerider's lap. "Geesh Koul, right out of nowhere. I swear." He ran his hand over the cat's head and back, scratching between the ears and on the exposed side. He sighed. "Well, its always good to hope. Even when the chances aren't looking so good. They took almost a whole year to come up with this plan. I don't think the Nobility will give up their hold on the Weyrs so quickly."
Three words. Invader. Of. Space. Maybe he should call his clutchsister Ios from now on. The Blue made protesting noises as Rajnith scooted her way onto his couch and curled up against him without asking. Grumbling quietly to himself, Viveth shifted to make himself more comfortable. Even if he asked he doubted the Green would leave so soon after arriving. She was lucky he allowed her to come over at all, Greens were much too fussy. And Rajnith was not the Green who would convince him otherwise. It is comfortable. The entrance is facing away from the prevailing winds and long enough so that when it rains I do not get a drop of water in here that I do not track in myself. Mine brings me fresh hay to lay on in the Winter to help keep me warm. There wasn't any in his cave right now, seeing as it was nearing summer and the weather remained warm. I do like it better than the Whercaves. Much bigger, brighter too. Good views and its away from the Hold and gawking Humans who don't like us at all. They always stared at him. Beady little eyes that glared and judged. They all judged, and he knew it, and His knew it. Which was why His had picked out the most perfect place for his new home. Viveth was able to appreciate the extra work it took for E'iah to travel to him, but he'd never say it out loud. But he often made it easier for His by flying out to near the Hold so they could take off from there.

Rei: lol, Els is always interesting to RP with. She can definately have a thread. :3 Although I think you should pick who she wants to RP with since I was the last one to pick when we last threaded together. xP
Chey: I don't think I've ever one-on-one roleplayed with you before! I'd love to have a thread with either or both of your characters. I see that they are both at Selenitas, so you can choose between E'rro and Kaegan for the locals. But! My Selenitas Wherhandler can also come and pop in to say hi since he often takes trips to Selenitas 2.0. So Nautic is on that list too. <3

It was the uncertain mooing behind him that first brought his attention to the arrival of the Wherpair, though once he actually looked around the taller than he should be man really gave it away. He crossed his arms over his chest with a smile as he saw that Vivano hadn't really notice him until they were really close. With a chuckle he returned the wave the other man gave him. "Well aren't you two the most welcoming sight I've seen today." Pushing off the fence, the Dragonrider stepped over to greet the big Bronze, making sure he kept on the male's good side. "Hello Vivask. Looking Lordlike as ever." He happily rubbed the male's eyeridge for a few moments before gently leaning against his withers so he could look up at the Rider. "And hi there handsome. Have you come to save me from this annoying life?" Stepping away from the harness so Vivano had room to get down if he wanted, E'iah tucked his hands into his pockets. "Perhaps you could just, whisk me away to somewhere less... less, Hyphen." The ground beneath him shifted as the Bluerider rocked back onto a dirt pile.
"Oh, by the way, I have something for you." He toyed with the strap of his bag. "Buuut~ I don't know if I should give it away for free." It had been a while since he'd seen his sort of boyfriend and it had given him time to use his crafter skills to make a little gift. E'iah tried not to act overly lovey even though affection was a big part of his personality, cause he didn't want to scare Vivano off by acting as if there was something more between them when there wasn't. So, he limited his gifts to the occasional thing and always made sure they were actually something rather than frivolous things. The Rider looked down at his bag and patted it. "I dunno. What do you think Vivask, should I even give him a gift? Has he been a good boy lately?" Grinning cheekily, he sidestepped out of reach just in case.

"I didn't know, that must have been really hard. And your family issues make even more sense now." E'iah took another sip of his tea. "Well, the dinner is around the eighth candle mark, but everyone will get there half a candle mark early. I'll come pick you up like, ten minutes before then?" Draining the rest of his drink, the Bluerider placed his empty cup on the table and exchanged it for a piece of fruit. "And don't worry, I can take a good amount of criticism from humans, I think I'll be able to handle some from Rajnith." He grinned. "Hopefully she'll find it acceptable, my friend will be all sorts of amused to get comments from a Dragon." The StoneCrafter was one of of the Dragon-okay minority in Hyphen, it was the reason they had become friends in the first place. "Thanks for the offer. I'll probably take you up on it eventually. The women of my family love interesting things, I think one of my Brother's wives has a little collection of glass pendants. Though, you should see the Mastersmith when he's sick. Its pretty hilarious. Grumbling and sneezing like an ox with the sniffles."
"But I know what you mean. Despite what my father wants, I don't want to progress any further than Journeymanship either. I share the hope of being able to go back to Selenitas one day. I hate to say it, but I actually miss Wing drills." He laughed. "Even Viveth with all his insecurities, dislikes being here. He says, and I quote, 'Its much too suspicious here. Too many humans who don't like dragons. At least at Selenitas I could hide among the others.'"
Huh! Who's that? Rajnith? Of course it was his clutchsister, there weren't any other Dragons in the Hold at the moment. That... he knew of. Stonework? He looked up and around at his home. Well, I suppose, I guess. He didn't understand why she didn't believe Their's when they said it was good work. Viveth knew that his Human wouldn't let anyone he didn't trust work on his home... less they be part of some kind of plot to get rid of him... which would be terrible! And possible. Very possible. He was startled from his line of thought by His nudging him mentally. The neon Blue curled up with a yawn, waiting for his Greensister to arrive.

"Yes, he's a Wherhandler." He shrugged slightly. "He's stationed at the Weyr, so I visit him when I can or when his wanderings lead him back here, he visits for a while. Like I said, nothing serious, but I really do enjoy his companionship." Reaching down, E'iah flicked a piece of wood off of his boot with a free hand. Once that was done he settled back into the couch to listen to Ten in companionable silence. Her family troubles did seem to parallel his own, in the aspect of marriages at least. "Well, it looks as if you have those dramas well in hand for now, but I think I can help you with Raj's problems." The Bluerider moved the sting of his tea bag around to keep his hands busy. "I would be happy to introduce you to the Journeyman Stonecrafter that worked on Viveth's place, and I'd be happy to lend my craft as well. My bracing and support work is pretty good, my time in exile really helped me work on that." He chuckled, reminiscing on an old memory.
E'iah nodded as she agreed with him about the Holds and the Weyrs, and he knew that many Weyrborn people thought Holders were strange as well. He realized long ago that the two where part of separate worlds, the people might be of the same blood and bone, but most were so very different. When Ten mentioned being a smokescreen, E'iah's smile conveyed amusement and almost gratefulness. "You would? Oh, that is music on my ears. It would stop them fussing for a time." He just feared that it would only be for a few days. It wouldn't take long for his Mother to pull on her strings... He glanced back at the other Rider as her voice pulled him back from his musings. "I'd bet on it. I feel like the freedom that the Weyr provides, more particularly in relationships, allows for a near unlimited amount of choices. No one cares who you love or who you spend your time with. Unlike here. Where your friends are alliances, and marriages are for the best of your family. Politics" With a sigh he tried his tea, finding it just cool enough to sip.
"Oh, speaking of politics, I was just thinking. If we do sort of cast that smokescreen, I fear you'll be dragged into the middle of it." E'iah set his cup down and laced his fingers behind his head as he reclined. "My father is a MasterWoodcrafter and close to Lord Quentian, my Mother is a Weaver and attends to Lady Jinny when needed... ect." He sighed. "I have a feeling that Mother will find ways to poke and prod her nose into places it doesn't belong. Although you are a Rider, so no one other than my parents might care. You know Hypheners... Such a bias against Riders." Scrubbing his brow with the palm of his hand, he laughed. "Look at me, thinking about things I shouldn't care about. I was never suited for Hold life. I shouldn't be concerned, you've probably more insight into politics than I." He smiled. "Either way, the Lord and Lady are throwing a dinner party for some wealthy merchants staying at the Springs, I'd be happy if you'd join me."
