Watching the Weyrwoman and the male healer walk away from the group with squinted eyes, Kaegan leaned against her Queen as a sort of Dizziness swept over her. Struggling to keep consciousness, the young woman blinked back tears as the pain in her arm doubled... Apparently she had done more than scrape her arm, but as to what she had no idea. The lights and sounds around her began to flux as her eyes seemed to grow heavy, she had been able to stay awake long enough to tell the Weyrwoman her story. She had accomplished her goal. Eyes flicking to bright yellow, Millieth swung her head around to face the Healer as Kaegan's mind seemed to grow dim. This was the only time in her short life that she had been truly afraid of anything...
/Quickly! She is starting to slip into unconsciousness!/
(I shall be setting up a thread in the Infirmary when we finish up here. :3)

"I was almost always in one place of the Weyr... if not taking injections I was in the Library or somewhere in the Weyr working on political and Domestic matters that my... I mean Benden's Weyrleaders and Senior Weyrwoman felt were beneith them to do." Slowly tracing a circle with her finger upon Millieth's golden hide, Kaegan put her free hand to her forehead feeling a bit dizzy. "If something happens to Millieth I will let you know Mister Trenlor. And R'ton... please do what Weyrwoman Shmee says. You can speak to me after I am done if you wish, but now we must converse on this issue alone."
Slightly wary of the bronze who had come up to her, Millieth thrashed her tail slightly in agitation. A moment passed before a prickling in the back of her mind caused her to refocus her interest on what the older Queen had to say.

"Two undiluted and four diluted... thats what we were given." Turning to the Weyrwoman, Kaegan bobbed her head slightly before speaking again. "Forgive me Miss Shmee... I was unsure what you meant." Ears pricking slightly as the bronzrider spoke, the young goldrider vaguely remembered hearing that voice at Benden. "You're that boy that Benden kicked out..." Shaking her head she turned back to the Weyrwoman and the old man as Shmee addressed the young bronzerider.
Twitching her wings slightly, the Queen reached out with her mind and spoke to Kaegan.
/There are so many transfers and people from Benden... We can't trust anyone.../
Shrugging off Millieth's comment slightly for it was something she already knew, the Queenrider returned her gaze to the floor.

Shifting uncomfortably as Shmee looked to her, Kaegan ran a sleeve along her face to get rid of the tears that had formed. Although the Queenrider jumped slightly when Trenlor addressed her, his voice reminding her of someone she knew from Benden. Looking up from the ground at the older man, Kaegan responded quietly to him. "Yes sir. Today was supposed to be the seventh treatment. I'm not trained in the art of healing, they found me to be better at politics... but I believe they said the clutch size was slightly larger." Not taking her eyes off the man, the young woman responded to the Weyrwoman. "Its a way to inject liquids under the skin Miss Shmee."
Growling slightly as she remembered how the people at Benden had forced her to allow them to give her the shots, Millieth reached out to Kaegan with her mind. Each time the Queen refused to acquiesce to the treatments, they would threaten her with various suggestions that included the possible harm of her mine.

Fidgeting slightly as she played with the hem of her ruffled tunic, Kaegan continued to watch the floor intently. A moment or to of silence passed as she formed what she was going to tell the Weyrwoman. "Benden isn't what it seems. At first when I was accepted as a candidate I thought everything was right with the world and nothing could be better than what I was feeling. But soon after I impressed Millieth I learned how brutal the leaders of Benden really were... how violent they are with the weyrlings, and how everything is patriarchal. Not only that but how queenriders are basically slaves just to have clutches." Pausing as her vision grew blurry and tears threatened to fall, Kaegan struggled to swallow the lump in her throat and at last forced herself to continue. "They try to use the very crude drugs on the weyrlings to enhance clutch sizes... I... I didn't want that for Millieth so we escaped as soon as we could." The hands that had been fidgeting only a moment before were now clenched into fists as the young Goldrider fought to keep the salty drops of liquid that had welled up from rolling down her cheeks.
Striding up to her rider, Millieth made a soft sound as she tried to comfort her mine. Normally, the Queen would have added something to whatever Kaegan had said, but at the moment she had nothing to say, she was only worried about her Mine.

Gently accepting the weyrwoman's hand, Kaegan looked back at her Queen before letting her eye's wonder to the dragon and his rider who had been there from the start. A small wave of thanks escaped her free hand before it settled back down by her side and her head returned to a forward position.
Pushing herself up into a standing position, Millieth flared her wings before tucking them close to her sides. Stepping after her rider as she twitched her tail, the young Queen kept her eyes trained on Kaegan, ready to act if any trouble sprang up.
"Weyrwoman Shmee?" Lowering her voice slightly, the Goldrider let her eyes drop to the floor, a habit she had acquired at Benden when speaking to people with more power than herself. "The reason I fled Benden might of some importance to you and your Weyr. It will at least give you some information to what goes on there..."

Glancing slightly at the man who had appeared, Kaegan twitched her nose slightly as somewhere in the back of her mind recognized him from something Benden had done with Fort. Not moving as he spoke to the Weyrwoman of Selenitas, she waited until S'rei had finished before taking her turn to speak.
"I shall harbor no hard feelings to this Weyr if you find it in the best interest for me to seek help somewhere else. I will go to Fort if need be... and most likely as a final resort. The last thing I want is to bring despise from either of the waring Weyrs to your's Weyrwoman Shmee. I understand now that I have now undoubtedly involved you in some way in the struggle, and I should have thought more before fleeing Benden. But our time was limited and we had to act fast..."
Annoyance at the man blossomed in Millieth's mind as he spoke to Shmee, but it wasn't because he was so vocal... it was because he was right. Listening in turn from the wingleader to Kaegan, the golden Queen slid in her comment but her voice was directed at her rider and the Selenitas Weyrwoman.
/We... I was convinced that if we went to Fort, all we would be doing is escalating the tension between Benden and Fort. And as the Male said... We would have been used as weapons or leverage against Benden. We want to do with no more deaths./
(Note: Kaegan is dodging around exactly WHY she had left Benden. Bahaha... The plot shall soon be revealed! ;3)

Blinking slightly as the Weyrwoman shouldered her way through the small crowd and arrived at the scene, Kaegan pushed at Millieth asking her to move her head. Fingering the crinkles out of her Tunic, the young goldrider straightened her back and moved toward the surprisingly young Senior Weyrwoman. Stopping a pace or so away from Shmee, Kaegan bowed slightly before speaking. "No Weyrwoman Shmee, we were not under attack. I have come to humbly ask you for Asylum from Benden Weyr."
Snorting slightly as she moved her head so that her rider could pass, Millieth twitched a wing before nodding to the Weyrwoman who had started talking.
/Kaegan. You must see the Healer as soon as you are done. Even if she is a Benden one.../
Sighing unhappily, the Queenrider looked to the healer and shrugged her injured arm, obviously having nothing to say to her other than. "Fine."

Annoyed to a point at the Woman healer, the Year old queen huffed slightly before looking to her Kaegan and then back to Kalierre.
/She does not need me to calm her down... She can do that herself. And --/
Suddenly a mental tug interrupted her train of thought and caused her to turn toward her rider, she wanted to speak.
"Fear? Do you think I really ran because I was afraid?" Stroking Millieth's hide as she spoke, Kaegan turned her hazel gaze upon the healer, her eyes held something implacable in them. "It's true I might have been... afraid at one point. But after a couple months at Benden... I forgot how to feel really anything. The only thing I knew for certain I needed to do was run..." Angling her eyes down slightly as she curled her fingers into a fist, Kaegan continued. "... run to save Millieth's life."
Feeling the pressure at the back of her mind release, Millieth began to speak again.
/We must speak with the Senior Weyrwoman... only then will Kaegan allow herself to be looked after. There is an important matter that we must relay to her./

Jerking back at the touch of the Benden healer, Kaegan scooted herself away and closer to Millieth. Even though the Weyrwoman was afraid and slightly confused, her voice did not waver from anything less than a commanding tone. "Stay away healer! Stay away! I want nothing to do with Benden any longer, healing or Leading!" Shivering slightly, the former Weyrwoman struggled to her feet as her Queen brought her large head between her and Kalierre snarling savagely ignoring any questions put forth by the blue.
Even though mind linking with other humans than ones own was very uncommon, Millieth spoke to the healer with venom.
/You nor anyone else shall touch my Mine again, unless you wish to lose a limb./
Withdrawing from the Benden healer's mind Millieth continued to shield Kaegan from the others, humans and dragons alike.
Moving closer to her Queen, the young goldrider placed a hand upon the treasure colored hide as she warily watched from behind Millieth's neck.
/I thought we were rid of Benden... what is a Benden healer doing here?/
Twitching her hide where her mine had placed her hand, the Golden Jr Queen responded the girl.
/I do not know Mine. But no one will touch you again.../

The Between was rough and the duo nearly crashed entirely as they appeared, their haste almost destroying what the rider had planned so hard to preserve. Claws and scales hit the rock hard landing with a resounding clatter and the rider was pitched forward off the saddle and onto the ground. The momentum alone made the female slide a fair distance away from her enraged dragon, only when she had stopped did she curl up slightly, cradling her arm upon which she had fell.
A roar roused the rider from the darkness that had descended on her as she lie sprawled on the cold and unforgiving floor. The woman's crimson hair pooled haphazardly around her still head, and the black satin ribbon that had once held it back lay a pace or so away. The almond shaped eyes fluttered open ever so slowly as she felt a fuzziness at the back of her mind.
Its so cold... so cold? I... it was sunny...
The hazel of her eyes began to show as the world began to come into focus and the roaring in side her head became louder and louder.
/WAKE UP KAEGAN./
Who.... Millieth? It... it is!
Grimacing as she slowly shouldered her way up onto her elbows, the woman known as Kaegan ran a hand through her hair checking for head injuries. Her hand found it's way to the painful shoulder causing her to wince as she pressed against it slightly, not only was it bruised it had a shallow gash in it. Sighing gratefully, Kaegan looked up at the proud Dragon who towered over her even in her young age and raised the unhurt hand to curl it around the female's neck. Quietly sobbing to herself and to Millieth, the Goldrider spoke under her own power for the first time in weeks. "We are safe my Queen... at least for now. We-Are-Safe."
And with that Millieth, the former Jr. Queen of Benden, threw her head back and coughed a grateful roar, before turning back to her hurt human, concern and worry clouding her mind.

(I chose you Milliethchu. :3 )
Large membraned wings glinted gold as the powerful appendages swung rhythmically. Swirling green eyes closed as the well sized queen quietly rode the warm updrafts to conserve her energy. Leaving behind the emerald trees behind Millieth slowly snaked her way up the river eyes only occasionally glancing down at the almost unseen shadow that she cast upon the darkened ground. Dipping her right wing, the dark gold Queen pivoted to follow a bend in the riverbed, only slowing her progress down as she passed over a flash of Gold and Bronze. Ten meters passed underneath Millieth before she dipped her left wing and wheeled herself around the way she had came, a minute later the Queen landed on the other side of the river then the others. Reaching out to the Queen and the Bronze she had met earlier, the golden female spoke.
/Is everything alright? The bruise on the Weyrwoman's face look like the ones Kaeganmine had sometimes.../

Watching as each of the newly appointed men stood up as their names were called, F'rah clapped for all of them with the same amount of enthusiasm. Letting his gaze slide momentarily to his female friend, the Weyrlingmaster was about to comment on the good choice of new weyrleaders when his name was called. Blinking slightly when the view of the room diverged its course from the others onto him, the Brownrider quickly stumbled to his feet.
/Congratulations F'rahmine. I am happy for you!/ The fuzzy words of his brown puttered their way through his head as the shock started to wear off. /I'm... a Wingsecond? Thats.... interesting! Goodness.... I can already see the complications its going to cause in being the Weyrlingmaster. Damn I'm glad I requested a Assistant when I did./ /Thats true, but think about it later Mine. Tonight is a celebration for you and the others, be happy with your Lauranna and friends tonight. The darker things can come tomorrow./
/She's only a friend Styth..../
It was a very odd feeling to be standing up for applause, it in fact reminded him of when he had been promoted from just a Brownrider to the Weyrlingmaster. The emotions that night had almost given him a heart attack, but he had survived through it by the skin of his teeth. Although this promotion didn't reach the level of confusion that his first promotion had given him, it was fairly close.
Nodding a thank you for his bout' of clapping, F'rah started to roll his two pronounced titles in his head... Wingsecond and Werylingmaster.
----
Unlike his Mine, Styth knew that F'rah would be promoted tonight, he had felt it in his gut. Letting a dragonic laugh reach his throat as he severed the connection with the Weyrlingmaster, the Dark Chocolate dragon turned his attention to the Green he had secretly fallen for. Though he hadn't told either end of the party his feelings, their human half's or the female herself.
/Reysalth! Did you hear that? F'rahmine was chosen as a Wingsecond... by the way your hide looks lovely as ever./ -----
Looking up quickly from her lap as the Senior Weyrwoman mentioned her and Millieth's appearance from Beneden, Kaegan blushed furiously before returning her gaze to her legs. Pausing a moment to give a second glance at Shmee, the young Goldrider caught the woman's comforting gaze before she began to speak once more.
Why did she deserve to be welcomed happily? She had belonged to a rival and vicious Weyr, and she had done her part in some of the atrocities of their acts. Sure she had come to receive refuge but how did they--
/Silence! Kaeganmine I forbid you to think about such things! You were forced to do things that your moral standards would not let you do on your own. Do not ever... ever think that some of the things that you did over at Benden were solely your fault. You if anyone deserve to be happy, its defiantly time for your due./
Jumping slightly as her Queen interrupted her self destructing thoughts, the Jr. Weyrwoman sighed. Millieth was right, maybe she did deserve a little joy now that she had escaped the clutches of C'leon and his Weyr. But the unsettling thought that he might come back for her was always present, and would probably never go away.
---
(To lazy to add Saraina, F'con and Jackreths responses. So the over view is that Saraina was clapping happily for F'rah and Styth while Jackreth and F'con were not so happy about it.)

Letting glances exchange between each other, F'con and Saraina both removed themselves from their plates to listen to the Weyrwoman speak. The candidate, out of the two of them, was the only one to notice that Shmee's voice and overall tone had changed. Their had been rumors and gossip about exactly were she had disappeared to after the hatching, but where ever she went had to have changed her. Though the Male being a stereotypical transfer, didn't care about what had happened to the Sr. Weyrwoman. Offering one more glance in each other's direction, the two sat in silence waiting for the promotion speech.
----
Quietly fiddling with her wavy hair as the healer responded to the question she had asked, the Queenrider was slightly surprised when Kalierre stated that she was close to the Weyrlingmaster. The imposed question had made Kaegan think about her actual position within F'rah's circle of friends. Was she in fact considered a friend to the man? Let alone being close to him? It wasn't something she had ever really thought about, it just felt natural to be around the man. Blinking as the train of words that came from Kalierre stopped, the Weyrwoman took her turn in speaking.
"Oh... Um asleep? I hope the lessons aren't that... boring?" Letting a pause settle between the two, Kaegan then continued to speak. "Miss Meri... I think... Weyrlingmaster F'rah accepted her as an assistant... because he... hmm. Wanted to show the class that not everyone... is kind in life." Nodding slightly as she remembered what F'rah had said about his Assistant, the Queenrider gently kicked the back of her ankle boots against the legs of her chair. "I haven't... been up to much. I've been in the library and record halls... and been flying with Millieth. Mr. F'rah is helping me with perfecting my 'Betweening'... I... have yet to talk with Shm--" Flicking her hazel eyes up the Sr. Weyrwoman as she began to talk, Kaegan was unsure whether to ask Kalierre is she wanted to sit with her or tell her she should go take a seat. Settling just to be silent, the Goldrider gave the Weyrling a glance that she hoped would convey either of the options she had thought about.
---
Cracking a smile and letting it evolve into a joyous grin, F'rah rested a hand on the Greenrider's as she placed it on his shoulder. It was only upon her's for a brief moment, but it was long enough to exchange his gratefulness that she had come to sit with him. The Weyrlingmaster was all for formal edicate, but events like dinners bugged him. It wasn't as if he minded being around other people and making new acquaintances, it was when he was alone for a certain amount of time during the beginning. It always gave him a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach, but as soon as he was joined by a friend or someone he knew, the feeling went away.
Rubbing his wrist where the green had attached herself to, F'rah chuckled happily before responding to his good friend. "Thanks Laurie. And... heh. The Weyrlings aren't giving me to much trouble, but they certainly don't like my assistant Meri of Blue Lenorath. I have heard that she had half of the class angry with her even before the class was over. But having her help me with the lessons is good for my other jobs around the Weyr, who ever came up with the idea of switching off work times needs to be applauded." Sighing slightly as he remembered the complaints he had gotten about the assistant, F'rah ran a hand through his hair before returning his attention and smile back to the Greenrider.
"But how have you and your little Tyke doing M'dear? Hope he hasn't been to much trouble now." Although he had more to say, the Brownrider was cut off as the Weyrwoman began to speak. His answer from Laurie would have to wait till later... and so would his dinner.

A few minutes passed before Kaegan withdrew from her Queen, only to find a woman speaking to her. The voice was familiar... the name that had at one point been vivid now escaped the Weyrwoman. That is until the Hazel eyes removed themselves from the Queenriders lap. Kalierre! She had promised to go and visit the Healer! It was unlike Kaegan to forget a promise made to those who had been kind to her, and for it she felt a small bit guilty.
Flexing her arm slightly after the Healer, now a Weyrling, finished speaking, the young woman then responded. "Oh um Kalierre. Yes... my arm feels much better... thanks to you. I'm very grateful to you..." Letting her gaze shift slightly, a small concerned look passed across her face before continuing. "... You look rather... tired. Have you not been... uh sleeping well? You are now attending... Weyrling lessons and healing shifts... correct?" ----
Wincing slightly as his attention was drawn from the reining couple to the newest arrivals with a pair of sharp claws, the Weyrlingmaster smiled kindly at his friend as she slid into the seat next to him. The fact that she was breaching formal protocol irked him like a rash he couldn't itch, but he knew how to remedy that situation... it was the very plan that Lauranna herself was thinking of. Though the claws in his wrist needed to be attended to before his proposition was made...
"Zephyr you little scamp, off I say." Moving his right hand and trying to scoot the flit off, F'rah turned most of his attention to the green dressed rider while trying to prod the persistent green away. "Lauranna you look lovely tonight. Would you be willing to dine with me on this occasion?"
---
As soon as the Weyrwoman started to eat, F'con dug into the piles of food that sat before him. He was absolutely starving, his metabolism was very fast so he went through calories and food like a turbid torrent, especially after a long day of riding and training with Jackreth. Silently mounding his plate with tubers, roots, and a hodgepodge of many other delectables, the bluerider sent out a few thoughts to his dragon before letting his furtive blue eyes wonder around the hall. Almost all of them were Selenitas riders so far, although the ex-Benden Queen was a small topic of discussion among the various things that everyone was expecting to come up in the speech.
/Whatcha think about the girl, eh? I remember her from one of our missions... she's good at politics I hear. Wonder if they're gonna use her for an advantage over Benden./
/Queen Millieth's Mine looks to be a shadow of what she once was... and if Selenitas's Weyrwoman is smart, she'll get Kaegan to help them when the war breaches this Weyr's defenses. Political and physical... That is what I believe F'conmine./
---
Unlike the Bluerider, Saraina only poked at the food she had placed onto her plate. She hadn't been hungry lately, she never was when it was her time of the month, and the pains in her lower half didn't help either. Continuing to poke at the food on her plate, the female candidate looked up and around the room gazing at the other candidates that had come. Although Zor had other ideas about where His's mind was supposed to be. Trilling loudly in the girl's ear, the annoyance demanded food for himself and the bronze. ---
