Selenitas’s largest golden mandyr had clutched the day after the earthquake in a pile of clean clothing amongst the tents of the refugee camp. Harmony then proceeded to guard her clutch with a ferocity that few other golds could match. More then one person had met with the wrong end of her teeth and claws in those few days before Burimyu came. The one bit most often was none other then her bonded however. Among all the chaos and uncertainly the large gold was trusting no one near her babies but her mate. It had taken much coaxing from Darmosk for her to even let the bronze wher near the clutch either.
When Burimyu had begun taking people from the camp Harmony had at first refused to let her clutch be touched, though eventually the golden mandyr had had no choice. Instead she milled about nervously helping Darmori secure her eggs nipping him sharply whenever he picked one up in a way that displeased her. Once they were safely secured in their bundle she clung to it hissing and spitting obscenities at the dragon who straight flew them to their new home.
Once there Harmony wasted no time in commanding Imp to help her move the entire clutch to a safe and hidden location. Once there the large gold proceeded to fuss over them constantly until they seemed like they could hatch at any day. Once there Harmony had decided to move them a final time. She needed the best opportunities for her offspring and one area had always provided quite acceptable slaves for her prodigy. The dining hall. So it was that in the dead of night her clutch was moved one final time.
At daybreak the entire clutch lay in a massive nest of feathers and scraps of the softest materials smack dab upon the middle of the table where the council members normally took their meal. Harmony’s massive golden form was curled about the entire clutch her head resting peacefully beside the New Moon Egg as her tail coiled completely around the Night Sky Egg. As the first early morning risers began to trickle in the gold cracked an eyelid and crooned affectionately to Imp as he took up his position as sentinel and guardian.
A half a candlemark later, just as the dining hall began it’s morning rush, a tapping began to sound from within the Waxing Gibbous Egg. With an affectionate croon Harmony began to hum, pulling herself up to her full height even as her talons closed upon the Full Moon Egg, her shameless favorite. Pulling the egg tight against her chest she flared her massive wings before announcing. Best Babies hatch! Think worthy? Bring offerings. Lucky you if they accept. Her voice was almost seductively sweet as her tail wound around this egg or another her whirling eyes focused on the humans as their attention turned rightfully onto her and her clutch.
Turning her head Harmony trilled softly to Imp trusting him to keep guard against any human that came to close. A loud crack had the gold’s head whipping back as the Waxing Crescent Egg began to crack from poll to base and a few others in the clutch began to rock. Yes it wouldn’t be long now. Her first offspring where almost ready to brave the world.

Things to Note This hatching takes place two weeks after Selenitas merged with Burimyu. The time is early morning. Riders will be having breakfast, handlers dinner. If your character is at the hatching they are fair game for me to impress to. Whether you applied with them or not. Have fun and good luck ;D

T'ke heard the all too familiar voice of a salamandyr queen and promptly turned around. He could get breakfast later, it wasn't worth being stuck with another creature to care for. At least his current ones were curiously absent. Shard had made it her purpose to return to stalking behind Rhino, purring and cooing when she thought she wouldn't be noticed. It made seeing Iskierka again very uncomfortable. Haru was off somewhere herself, probably managing something in her self proclaim position as superior bronze. T'ke had barely adjusted to moving to a new place, much less adding new companions as well.
T'ke-love? I thought I heard something about hatchlings, Garaeth's sleepy voice echoed in his head. I thought you were sleeping? T'ke answered, a bit concerned. It's not Millieth's. He'd been assured Garaeth was healing well and would recover, but he still worried. Salamandyrs? You should see them! I already have Shard, Garaeth, T'ke sighed. Yes, but it would be rude to leave. Please, T'ke-love? T'ke sighed more deeply. It was even harder to deny his dragon when he was still hurting and grounded. Fine, he agreed grumpily. He wandered back into the Hall and collected his breakfast. He would stay, but he would also sit as far from the eggs as he could get!
~
N'rik practically clapped with excitement, grinning from his chair at the table. He'd been eying Harmony and her eggs ever since she'd arrived and now they were finally Hatching! He hadn't been to a salamandyr hatching in ages and he still adored them. Alph was a treasured companion and Ophiuchusth loved him too. Having more would be fantastic! Just thinking about it made N'rik sneak closer to the eggs, meat roll in hand. Alph curled on his shoulders, watching suspiciously. He wasn't fond of his brethren, including his mother, and their sudden reappearance did little to comfort him. Stay away, he urged. Alph not trust. N'rik shrugged and patted him. "You're just jealous," he chided with a smirk. "Don't worry, you'll all be my best friends!" Alph wasn't so sure the new hatchlings would see it that way. Maybe he could scare them away if he looked big enough. He was quite intimidating when he wanted to be.

Kaius was still upset about being stripped of his Candidacy. Ever since the earthquake, he had avoided Beta like the plague, taking every precaution he could think of to stay away from the woman, lest he forget that she was his superior and take his anger out on her. He hadn’t even seen Lilu yet, come to think of it. This morning, as he walked to breakfast, he thought about going to see how she was adjusting to the move. Unfortunately, though, his idea was derailed as soon as he walked into the mess hall.
The rumbling hum that reverberated through the ground and the walls was oddly familiar to the tall boy. It reminded him of the day when he had impressed King, who was clinging to Kai’s shoulder at the moment. Best eggs, mama makes. King trilled, thrashing his long tail around enough to smack his bonded in the face repeatedly. I came from them. The comment put a damper on Kai’s already bad mood, So did Queen… He reminded his mandyr dryly. He never missed a chance to mention King’s twin brother, born from the same egg were they. At the mention of the other salamandyr, King stood up defiantly, hissing viciously. Stupid asshat! Snorting angrily, he balanced on the edge of Kaius’ shoulder. I will bite asshat’s tail. Then the bronze mandyr glided to the ground, expertly making his way through the throng of people already gathering, Kaius assumed, to go find his brother. Kai wasn’t too worried. He wasn’t likely to find Queen. The mandyrs’ heads and sense of direction had been discombobulated from the move.
Yawning, the tall boy stomped towards the food, pointedly ignoring the hatching. Anyone who was anyone liked being impressed to salamandyrs, but he already had one, and he didn’t know how King would react to another…friend. Unfortunately though, the salamandyr hatching interfered directly with his breakfast.
And food, to Kai, always won out.
Fooooood.
August was always a zombie in the mornings. He hated, hated, HATED getting up. He usually left waking up on time to the overachievers. Which, he was not, and sharding proud of it. If anyone came upon him in this half state of wakefulness, they would be lucky to get a few grumbled words from him in lieu of any real conversation. Gus was not a good conversationalist when he had just awoken. It took a few gallons of klah and some good food for him to wake up completely. Then again, was Gus ever completely awake? Blinking groggily when he entered the dining hall, he would proceed to follow Kaius to the food line. Unlike Kaius, Gus hadn’t noticed the rather obvious humming of the golden salamandyr, nor the sight of her, curled up on the center most table cradling her eggs. After he got his food, he grumbled lowly and walked straight to Harmony’s table, flopping down with his food.
He was completely oblivious to the hatching at his right as he shoveled food into his mouth..
K’ian had already been in the dining hall. He liked to go in there when no one was around. The quiet provided a suitable place to work, and contemplate the day. The move hadn’t been what he expected it to be. He hadn’t exactly knew what to expect, but he felt like being at the tithe theft all over again. He was surrounded by people who wanted him dead. He could deal with this, he supposed, as long as no one acted on their feelings. He supposed the merging of the two weyrs was coming along nicely, soon, Selenitas and Burimyu would be one weyr again, in all aspects of the word. Native Selenitans now outnumbered the wasteland riders again, he mused, taking a long drag of his drink.
There is to be a hatching soon, mine. K’ian nearly choked on his drink as he heard Rom’s voice. What? Millieth’s eggs were about to hatch already? The bronzerider very nearly jumped out of his chair, until he heard the mirthfilled laughter in his head. Not quite yet. The annoying little sausage flits will be hatching soon. Oh yes. He remembered now. They had taken a clutch of salamandyr eggs with them. How curious. He thought that they would have died on the way over. Thanks for freaking me out there for a second, Rom. I know how you liked the hatching last time. Maybe it’ll be interesting? The dragon mused. K’ian thought that this could be interesting, and as Harmony came in, started making a nest, and dragged her eggs in, the tall bronzer was sitting in the corner, watching with a vaguely interested expression on his face.
He was making progress. At least he hadn’t called them abominations this time.
His reverie was interrupted by a small voice from somewhere to his right. “ Can I sit here?” He glanced in that direction to see a petite redheaded girl with her plate of food. This was one of the weyrlings from Selenitas, if he remembered correctly. The bronze struggled with her name for but a second before it came to him. Leilani. Rom rumbled in amusement. Indeed. You should hear how her dragon squeals about her wanting to sit with you. I’m afraid Katearath doesn’t like us very much at all. K’ian’s face broke out in a broad grin, and he would have laughed if Lani hadn’t been standing right there. I’m sure you can win her over, Rom. You always manage to do that. To Leilani, he offered a prizewinning smile. “ By all means, my dear.” As she sat down, he noticed she tried her best not to look at him as she ate. So, she still didn’t trust him. He didn’t blame her. Probably the only reason she was here eating with him was because the salamandyr was taking up so much room with her damn hatching. After a moment, he regarded the girl curiously. “ How are you adjusting to the change in scenery?” For a moment, he thought that Leilani would ignore him. After a bit, she looked at him pointedly. “ Oh. It’s very fine here, for an exile weyr.” The words were like pointed jabs aimed straight at his face. She made it clear that it was he and the other wastelanders were responsible for the exiles in the first place. “ Touche.” He said with a chuckle, ignoring her angry glare and returned his gaze to the hatching.
It was about this time that Kate was still screaming in her mind. Lani didn’t know if she was more upset that she was sitting with K’ian or that she was at the hatching in the first place. Lani didn’t consider herself “at the hatching”. She was just eating. Coincidently, the hatching happened to be at the same place as she. She resented a little bit that Kate didn’t seem to care that she hadn’t eaten since breakfast the following morning, so she ignored the green dragon’s persistent protests and kept eating, throwing curious glances over her shoulder at the eggs, wobbling precariously on the table.
Ani had recovered from her injured leg well. She had taken the injury in stride and decided that today would be a nice day to have breakfast, unfortunately, it was the very place where Harmony had brought her eggs and was conducting her hatching. As the blonde candidate walked in, Sammy balanced on her shoulder, she regarded Harmony’s table curiously. Sam trilled into her ear, watching the eggs curiously. He fluttered in his mistresses hair, looking at the eggs with wide eyes. Weren’t salamandyrs curious things? Vellani reached back to scratch the firelizard’s blue head, stepping closer to the table. She had a bit of meat in her hand, compliments of Sammy’s breakfast. Fortunately, the firelizard had forgotten about his hunger, so entranced was he by the eggs.
Vellani remembered the last time she had been here, well, not here…but over at Selenitas…during Harmony’s hatching. She had been attacked by so many salamandyrs, but she had also helped reunite a father and daughter. Grinning broadly, the girl decided to watch the hatching, keeping the bit of meat in her hand just in case.
Anything could happen.
The girl had been a little scarce since the Selenitas survivors had come to Burimyu. She knew that N’rik had told her that they would go back to Selenitas one day, buy she hadn’t exactly expected this to happen. The Wastelanders scared her, and as she hadn’t met any Selenitans despite the ones that populated Buri, she had decided to stay away from the lot of them. The girl had been aware of the salamandyr eggs. She knew what salamandyrs were, but she hadn’t seen many besides the few that the few that the exiles had brought over with them.
Liv noticed N’rik run into the dining hall one morning and wondered what mischief the boy was up to. With her breakfast of a meat roll in one hand, and a bubbly pie in the other, the small candidate darted after him. The girl would then proceed to sneak up behind N’rik, looking curiously at the eggs before noticing the agitated mandyr on her friend’s shoulder.
“ What’s wrong with Alph?” She asked, head tilted slightly. Who wouldn’t be excited? She was about to witness her first salamandyr hatching ever!
Saphor was not amused. She had only just landed in Selenitas with her daughter when the earthquake happened. She had managed to keep herself and Phaiden safe, no thanks to that worthless Piden. Of course, she hadn’t had much of a chance to confront her former lover, seeing as they were carted off to another weyr before she could even say anything to him. Now, two weeks later, she still hadn’t spoken to him. She was sure he was aware of their presence, she just hadn’t gone to confront him yet. There was something to be said about revenge, but when you were so close, sometimes you just weren’t completely sure you wanted to go through with it. She wasn’t second guessing herself. She needed to do this for her daughter, and for her own closure…
She had made Phaiden promise that she wouldn’t go seek her father out yet. There would be time for that when they were settled in this new weyr. The girl had agreed, though Saphor could see how it affected her. Every girl deserved to grow up knowing their father…she just couldn’t risk Piden would do something to break her heart. It was no secret that he had never wanted to be a father, and it was abundantly clear that the bronzehandler was doing everything in his power to avoid not only her, but his only daughter. That pissed her off more than anything, and she didn’t put it past Piden to say something about not wanting a child to Phaiden. The man had never been known for his supreme tactfulness. Saphor couldn’t bear to see her little girl’s heart broken. But you know what they say. What goes up must come down. The meeting between the three of them was inevitable, she knew. There was no way she could keep her little girl away from her father for much longer. Maybe for another week or so, she could have her daughter completely to herself.
If not…if not, she didn’t know what she would do.
So, it was with these thoughts in mind that she had woken her daughter up and urged her to get ready quickly. Saphor could tell that something special would happen today. She wasn’t blind. She knew that they had brought a clutch of Salamandyr eggs over with them. She also knew that Phaiden had been growing increasingly restless about her father, and if Phaiden had inherited her father’s way with salamandyrs, she would have a treat today. “ Hurry, hurry.” She urged Phaiden to get ready faster, realizing that where there was a salamandyr hatching, Piden was sure to follow close behind. This hatching was a double edged sword. It came with a possible end to Phaiden’s restlessness, but it also put them face to face with the man who had abandoned both of them.
“ Come one, Phai. We mustn’t be late for breakfast.” She walked with her little girl to the dining hall, eye’s jumping to the table immediately when she noticed the large centerpiece of massive salamandyr and eggs. She had never been familiar with the little creatures, but they were cute, she mused, walking past the table. She glanced over, sure Phai would be staring. The woman laughed lightly. “ Breakfast first, then the mandyrs.”

Ivy ~
Getting used to the new settings had proven easy for the buxom redhead, and when morning came she was among those in the dining hall ready to eat her breakfast. Somehow she managed to gather her food and find a seat all without noticing the clutch in the middle of the room on the table - lost in her own thoughts and concentrating too hard on not limping so noticeably.
The move from one weyr to another hadn't really effected the Candidate all that much - she still had chores and lessons to worry about. She helped out with those still recovering from the earthquake that destroyed most of Selenitas a mere two sevenday ago - but since she wasn't a trained healer she wasn't all that much help. Still walking with a limp herself, she was on the mend but not completely healed. Of course if she'd take it easier she would heal quicker, but she'd been trying to pass off as fully healed for Elisabeta - no way was she going to miss out on the next hatching!
Speaking of hatchings... what was that nest full of eggs doing there? She'd noticed it finally when her head went up to glance around the room to see if Cainith was around yet. Those eggs hadn't been there at dinner last night... Then a voice sounded in her head and she grinned to herself - it was hatching!
Walking with a slight hobble to her walk she made her way over towards the table that held the 'mandyr clutch, plate in hand, and her blue eyes lit up at the sight of the eggs. They were all so beautiful!
Eros appeared just then, chattering as he landed on her shoulder and curled his tail around her neck. While Ivy had taken just fine to the move, Eros had not. He didn't like the razorclaws around this new place - and he just didn't like change over all. So what was she doing here looking at those eggs? She didn't need anyone else, she was his Ivy-slave.

Swithin ~
Breakfast. Well for the Bluehandler, dinner. It was getting to be about the time he headed to bed - Swisk was already in their new 'apartment' and settling down to sleep. Swithin had seen the 'mandyr moving her eggs to the hall overnight - he'd popped in for a mug of klah to help keep him awake and alert. Not wanting to interrupt the obviously protective Gold he'd made himself scarce quickly.
Now he was back for his dinner and the clutch was still there - and according to the Gold it was about the hatch. Worthy? Hm. He'd always fancied a 'mandyr. Not that he didn't love Swisk dearly, he did, but sometimes it'd be nice to have another he could talk with more clearly.
So picking up his plate he slowly stood and inched closer, coming up next to a redheaded young woman, "Your first hatching?" But then he noticed her Blue and corrected himself, "Your first 'mandyr hatching? Swithin, by the by."

Roselle ~
Did you hear? Tserieth asked Hers, a bit of sleepiness to her mind-voice as she stretched and splayed her wings a bit.
Yes, I heard.
Go then Rosemine!!
Roselle shook her head as she laid there in bed, not much in the mood for hatchings, or moving really. Sure it'd been a few sevenday since she'd gotten smashed in the dining hall along with half the Weyr and made a fool of herself - someone said she'd actually kissed T'ri and made eyes at Sel'n. Sure it was doubtful anyone remembered much from that. Sure most of Selenitas was now in Burimyu and people had that to worry about, so her drunken antics weren't likely to be brought up... But still, Roselle would love nothing better than to sit in her room for the rest of eternity. She was that embarrassed. Sel'n, really? T'ri? What was she thinking?!
Still her Green continued to mentally nudge and bother her until finally she sat up. Pulling her long dark locks back she secured them in a messy bun behind her head before slipping out of bed. A quick wardrobe change later - from her sleeping clothes into real clothes - she was pulling on her boots and heading for the door. She was not pleased at all, but Tserieth was tickled pink that Hers was going out, and to a hatching no less!
Eyes were kept down the whole way from her room to the dining hall, not making eye contact with anyone she passed. As she came into the hall she went and grabbed a sweet cake and some meat as well, after all she was mostly here to watch the hatching and eating was secondary in her mind. A table somewhat near the clutch was chosen and she plopped herself in a chair to eat while she waited for the eggs to hatch - casting a curious glance to the Candidate and Wherhandler. She knew they were from Selenitas. They had to be, since she'd never seen them before the big move of Selenitas people to Burimyu. Hm. Taking a bite of her sweet cakes she kept glancing from them to the eggs, still looking gloomy and like she'd much rather be in bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serring ~
Nine turns.
Nine turns Selenitas Weyr had been the young man's home - and while it hadn't provided much for him besides a place to live, food to eat, and disappointment on the Hatching Sands, it had been his home. Now it was gone, destroyed by the earthquake a few sevendays ago. And now he was here in Burimyu.
He didn't much mind the move - or well the people he got to reacquaint himself with due to the move. He wasn't a fan of his home being gone, or the new accommodations. But the move had made sense, the merging of Burimyu and Selenitas had made sense as well. So he couldn't complain too much.
He was later than he'd hoped to be to the dining hall - Serring had wanted to get there before the morning rush. Yet as he entered he saw a number of people already eating and milling about. Shards, if only he'd had a better sense of direction and hadn't gotten himself lost. Oh well, there was still plenty of food to be had - oh and... apparently a hatching? He had known Harmony had clutched back in Selenitas but he didn't think the eggs had made it.
They had though, her announcement and their presence here in the dining hall attested to that - and they were hatching! His stomach rumbled a bit at him so he grabbed himself some food, grabbing extra just in case, and then sat down near the clutch. Eyes played over each egg curiously for a moment before he noticed he'd sat down next to a young woman with dark hair. Turning to her he smiled, "Good morning, nice morning for a hatching I'd say. Name is Serring, and you are?"
She didn't look too friendly, but maybe she just wasn't a morning person. He hadn't been much of one either - but the last nine turns as a Candidate had cured him of that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruliana ~
Poe was an early riser - he always had been. While His slept away in her Weyr, Poe had been quietly flying around. His flight had brought him to the dining hall where he'd roosted on one of the beams over the tables and settled in to watch. He loved to watch - people, firelizards, razorclaws, anyone and anything that came around. So it was he'd watched as Harmony and Imp had made a nest then moved all their eggs to it. If the Gold noticed him he bowed his head respectfully and stayed where he was - he would never try to harm her or her eggs.
Disappearing for a few moments he returned and flew over the nest, dropping a single brightly colored flower nearby before going to roost once more. A single chirp was given as he settled back and watched over the dining hall and the eggs.
The call from the Gold woke Amalath and she reached out to Poe, wanting the firelizard to show her the eggs - she knew where he was after all. So he obliged the dragon, letting her see the gorgeous clutch in the dining hall.
Ruliiiiiiiiiiiiii-mine!
Ruliana rolled over in bed with a yawn before stretching out, Yes my love?
Lovely little eggs are hatching! Little cousin showed me, you must go see!
Eggs? Hatching? At first she'd thought the Gold from Selenitas' clutch was going to hatch, but then the word 'little' set in and she recalled a salamandyr clutch they'd moved. That must be what she was speaking of. Reaching out to her firelizard she gently asked the stormy Blue to show her the eggs as well, and of course he did. They were indeed lovely, she could see why Amalath was so excited about them. So with another stretch she rolled herself and sat up.
Grabbing a fresh shirt and pants she was quick to dress and make herself presentable. Then she was off to the dining hall. It wasn't too far a trip for the young woman and she hummed to herself all the way - soon she was there and had grabbed some food for any babies that headed her way. Standing around with the others she smiled and hummed still, looking up to see Poe in the beams she offered her arm out to him. Fluttering down he landed and gave a soft chirrup before climbing up her arm to her shoulder. He'd of course move if the lovely Gold Harmony did not want him so close to her eggs, he'd never want to offend her or make her angry.

Osnat had to start thinking in the long term which was a very odd proposition for her indeed. Her mind had been forever focused on more temporal things, each destination she arrived at was one step closer to her getting home if not at least the shore and sea... but this place. This place was the opposite of all of that. There was the slight bit of fear bubbling underneath, at least more fear than excitement anyway, she was somewhere that most Pernese would never dare to go much less any sailor after all, but more importantly it was so inland... so far away from anything familiar she was sure that she was going to be lost here forever, but it was something that had to be set aside in favor getting through the day to day. She was going to learn to like this whole thing.
Of course that meant that she probably couldn't make it alone and some kind of companion suddenly seemed very necessary. A pet was not something she had ever before considered, especially not one of those obnoxious sala-whata-ders that she ran into - she shuddered at the memory of the little blue Rollhead, but ultimately excused the creature in favor of conjuring her seldom sprang ire towards Cainith - but all things considered maybe it would be worth the attempt to procure one of these creatures. After all the broken sentences rambled out through the dining caverns she was in was demanding offerings, and considering she only arrived here with the clothes on her back it wasn't looking like she had all too much to give away.
So it was that she ignored those pesky rules about impressing salamandyrs (how was Elisabeta going to play enforcer now... with this little merger and relocation the crazy lady's reign seemed hardly legitimate), and sneaked her way into the crowd that was assembling around the set of eggs. Interesting little things she thought as she leaned over Vellani to take a look, lightly touching the other candidate's shoulder with her hand. Just like the stages of the moons it seemed; they glowed on their own accord with different splashes of pale luminance... it was only after gazing at the precious spheres that she noted the food gripped in many of the spectator's hands, and in a rush to keep up with the rest she grabbed for a bit of whatever might have been felt abandoned on someone's plate.
She pulled her fingers up for inspection and cringed: she had a handful of runny eggs. Yum.

Imp lay beside the nest, alert for anyone getting too curious, his head turning more often to scan the room as the main breakfast rush started, anyone who looked like putting a finger on the eggs would soon find that finger bitten to the bone for their audacity. So far that hadn’t happened, either people were being polite or they feared for their fingers. Imp rejected out of hand the notion that they weren’t interested or didn’t want to Impress one of his babies. How could they not? All the hatchlings would no doubt be wonderful, they were Harmony’s babies after all.
Imp cocked his head, listening intently to the sounds within the eggs as Harmony rose and gathered the Full moon egg to her. The bronze took up the hatching hum as well, though he gathered no egg, Imp didn’t play favourites, except for Harmony of course. You stay back! Look with eyes only. He commanded the gathering humans, rising to stand before the nest, frill fully extended and long tail lashing. Babies choose you, maybe, if want you. No touching or smacked fingers. To stress his point the bronze reared up onto his hind legs and snapped his jaws together.
Darya could hardly avoid knowing there were salamandyr eggs about, Imp had spent the last fortnight or so racing back and forth between Darya and Harmony and her nest after all. However she had been rather surprised to find both parents and eggs had been relocated to the dining hall, apparently just in time for breakfast. Apart from stopping to greet her bronze briefly Darya had not troubled herself to do anything about it, salamandyr eggs were certainly not council business, therefore she wasn’t expected to do anything about them. Well, not yet anyway, not until more people worked out Imp was hers.
Of course it would have to be just as she was clearing away her used plate and cup that Harmony rose from her curled position and flared her massive wings before annoucing the clutch’s hatching to the Weyr. Darya smiled indulgently at the golden salamandyr, rightfully proud she was, her babies would be the best ever, naturally. The bluerider blinked in confusion at that thought, it had to be one influenced by Imp. After the long seperation where Imp was only just on the edge of Darya’s sensing range (she’d been able to tell he was alive but that was about it) Darya was no longer used to blocking out the bronze salamandyr’s emotions. Still she settled back in her chair, knowing Imp would never forgive her if she vanished, in fact he’d likely turn the clutch over to Harmony, and attempt to drag Darya back if he had to, earning her Harmony’s wrath as well. Besides, she was curious, though she’d met some of Imp’s babies Darya had yet to see them hatching. She firmly squshed the Imp-born impulse to go and guard the eggs, that was entirely Imp’s job.
Mo’rya heard the gold salamandyr’s call and turned on his heel, then yelped as he put too much weight on one of the as yet unhealed cuts on his feet, looked embarassed about yelping and hobbled back toward the dining hall. At least all the bruises had healed up, and all but the deepest of the cuts he’d gained from standing on the broken mirror had closed, it was just a couple that he kept managing to tear open again by doing damnfool things like that. Careful. Wit warned belatedly from the young bronzerider’s shoulder. The tubby blue salamandyr had absolutely no problem with going to see a clutch hatch, he could gain more slaves that way, if Mo’rya Impressed one salamandyr there’d be an even number of salamandyrs and an even number of slaves Wit calculated, this was good.
As Mo’rya entered a rather more crowded dining hall than he’d left a pair of firelizard settled on his shoulders, Ghost and Gaia, naturally, Evil not only hated females but also hated babies so he’d never lower himself to attend. Ghost adored all babies, though hers were clear favourite, and Gaia, well Mo’rya wasn’t sure about her, she might only be attending for a chance to plant more cooked beans in the floor cracks, or she might try and water the new salamandyrs, Mo’rya couldn’t tell with her sometimes. Dodging other hatching attendees and breakfast goers he went to fetch something for any hatchling that might come his way to eat.

It was breakfast time for many a creature, both man and giant, flying, fire-breathing lizard. He waited, bronze hide not shining as it once did. The weyr, keeping everything under wraps, kept just enough herdbeasts to keep the dragons from going mad with hunger, though it wasn't enough. Not enough to sate all the pangs. A growl above his head and Weith twisted quickly to catch a large feline that hadn't quite made it to his daytime resting place. No, the furred creature had found an intruder. With a snap the spine broke and life evaporated like mist as Weith dined.
You really shouldn't make a habit of doing this... R'men commented, looking at his own breakfast. The tithe theft a while ago had boosted their supplies, though the meal was still small and certainly left something to be desired...like bacon. He missed his side of good, fresh bacon. He chose to settle instead for jerky; tough, portable, and long-lasting. By the way, one of the Salamandyrs' clutches are hatching. He said, taking a bite and looking around the hall. Ooohhh!! Might you get one? Perhaps I could teach him to hunt![/i] The excitement from the bronze, chewing on a small chunk from the big cat out somewhere in the woods, was almost child-like.
The bronzer sighed. First, no, I don't need a pet because I have you. Second, I can't guarantee that, hypothetically speaking, Thinking Weith interjected, on the technicality of their conversation. Thinking, R'men amended, I can't guarantee that I'd Impress anything male. 'Mandyrs do lay greens y'know. Because he knew a queen, if there was one, was out of the question. Someone else could deal with that headache. Bitch please, with something as awesome and amazing as ME with you, only equally amazing and awesome things from that clutch would Impress to you! Now go and try for him![/i] Because the bronze had only met a few cool greens, his sister included, and none of them had ever been so very tiny. R'men huffed, grabbed his food, and moved to sit closer to the apparent commotion. The creature would find him, if it was so "awesome and amazing".

Harmony’s wings stayed flared as the humans began to approach her table. With a vicious hiss she placed the Full Moon Egg down and lunged forward at August, stopping at the edge of her nest frill spines fully extended. Back! She commanded him, her tail lashing across the distance to smack his fork out of his hands. Too clossssssssssse. The mental words were a hiss as she turned back towards her violently rocking eggs. She was there a mere moment before rushing forward again at a new person, mouth wide open in a threat display. Yes they her babies had to impress but this time she was extremely broody and the humans were all too close.
Cracking and tapping sounds from the eggs stole the gold’s attention thankfully and she turned her head away from Serring and back to her nest just as the New Moon Egg shattered completely and a rather dazed looking brown mandyr started to right himself. An adoring croon was offered her offspring as the New Moon Brown rolled to his feet and flared his goop covered wings, flicking them in an almost distracted manner.
Head titling the baby gazed at the egg shards beneath his feet. Pointy! With almost single minded obsession the New Moon Brown sat back at stared at his shattered egg. Grabbing a rather sharp shard in his paws he turned it over and over for a moment. Only then did he seem to notice that he was being watched. Flaring his frill spines at all the eyes on him he opened his mouth in a tiny hiss and screamed for all the dining hall to hear. ASSHATS!!!!! Obviously pleased with himself he grabbed the egg shard in his mouth and moved to scamper off towards the one he wanted, pausing only momentarily to give a vicious shove to the Waxing Crescent Egg. The large egg fell backwards smacking into the First Quarter Egg which proceeded to then tap into the Waning Crescent Egg. Bad! Harmony cried after the New Moon Brown but he was already off and scampering towards the crowd and the gold was far too busy fussing to give chase.
The Waxing Crescent Egg was the only one that shattered upon impact however to spill out a hissing and angry coil of green. The Waxing Crescent Green flared her large wet wings as she finally sorted out her entire length and glared at her retreating brother. Run. Confident that she had memorized her brother’s form she coiled her long body around the Eclipse Egg and simply regarded the entire dining hall with something like morbid curiosity. To her left yet another egg, the Waning Gibbous Egg, stated to rock in earnest a green leg punching out of the shell and withdrawing back in to be replaced with a muzzle. It wasn’t long before with a mighty heave the Waning Gibbous Green spilled out onto the table and gave a loud wail. Where oh where was hers! Why where they not right here and waiting for her? How dare they! Couldn’t he see that she was staaaaaaaaarving?
By this time the New Moon Brown had found the one he wanted. Leaping he spread his wings and glided effortlessly to R’men. Staring up at him he crooned long tail undulating behind him. Morn Asshat! Yes this was his. Perfect. Glancing back at the miniature scene he caused he crooned and bobbed his head opening his mouth wide. Staaaaaaaaaaarving!

New Moon BrownName: Age: Hatchling Born: May 3017 Color: Brown ~ Base coloration: [ 8B4513], Eye spot and feet: [ AA5303] Species: Mandyr Looks to: R’men Physical Appearance: Far from the most muscular brown this male has the build of your average blue though he is the size of an average brown. His body is rather lithe and he sports the same lean muscle mass blues of the species tend to have which gives him a surprising amount of speed for a brown. His tail is just a touch longer then your average mandyr and he is prone to using it to grasp objects and people. He has a set of nice fully functional wings gracing his back as well. Though he rarely if ever chooses to use them. He much prefers to run and climb or hitch rides to get where he is going. In fact the only time he will ever use his wings is when he needs to make a quick escape from something or other. Like the majority of his siblings from past clutches and this one he has no true frill. Instead sporting a ring of extendable bony spines around his head like this dam. He will frequently sharpen the tips of these spines himself on the rough edges of stones and the like to keep them razor-sharp. His bonded will no doubt have to be careful when his mandyr chooses to extend his ‘frill’. This brown’s hide could best be described as the color of soft leather. It looks like soft pliable leather too. The male’s hide has next to no sheen and instead has an almost soft and worn look at times. It will keep this dull look to it even when the brown is in prime health. Thus his bonded will have to pay attention to other clues to tell if the mandyr is feeling under the weather. As if to set off the leathery look this male has a few accents of a different coloration. One large light caramel colored eye spot surrounds his left eye and colors his wing membranes. The same color can be found on his feet as if he had dipped them in caramel. Personality: Upon birth it was obvious that this mandyr quite adores chaos. He is a master instigator, easily picking up on just what bothers someone so that he can recreate it. He simply doesn’t seem happy unless some sort of altercation or drama is going on. The brown prefers it if he is not involved in the actual fight but if that’s the only way to get something going he’s fine with actively participating. He loves to keep the combatants going on and on, egging on or the other on until the argument snowballs out of control or to violence. He’s certainly not one you could call sweet or loving, though nor is he particularly nasty. He just likes things to be a little out of control. He also has a fascination with sharp objects bordering on obsessive. Whether it be his own tines, a dagger, shards of glass, or arrow heads, he seems to like to examine and covet said objects. He’ll try to collect a large hoard of them too if he can. Either by finding small sharp shards of glass or stone easily carried by him or trying to convince someone that he really needs that dagger they are carrying. Very careful not to wound himself, his will have to be careful about not accidentally stepping on or stabbing themselves with this mandyrs sharp and pointy hoard. Very verbose this male likes to talk. It’s almost a shame that ninety percent of the words the brown learns will be insults. What better way to start a fight then to insult someone after all? He’s not a very easily trainable mandyr either. He seems to suffer from selective hearing and is quite okay with his being angry with him as long as he gets to do what he wants. He really has no use for firelizards and ignores them completely as if they do not exist. As far as other mandyrs go he loves to bother and pick at other males, trying to instigate them into a battle of wills. Females he tends to be more tolerant of even trying to rope them into his games of instigation. This brown will only chase the more outspoken and nasty females of his species. He has absolutely no use for sweet or demure females. No, he needs a partner who loves chaos just as much as he himself and will keep chasing till he finds his perfect match whereupon he will stay loyal to her. Ah the endless search for his queen of chaos. Because trouble is best caused in tandem clearly.

"Ung." Such was the eloquence of what was arguably Burimyu's most well-known council member as he shuffled in behind Elysia like a great drunken bear. Or was tugged in. The woman had him by the hand and was saying something, but shards if he was following it. S'rei didn't do mornings. Plain and simple. He much preferred spending a candlemark or so after waking still in his weyr to give his brain some time to wake up, but Elysia was insistent this morning. (And no, he still hadn't figured out why.)
It was at that point that the annoying voice of a golden mandyr went through his head. Yay. Elysia stopped, said something at which he just squinted. "Uh huh." Not sure what he'd just agreed to, but he figured at worst it was wearing a leash or something, and the bronzer continued forward without her to plop into his customary chair and rest his head on his arms. "Goin back ta sleep," he muttered to the woman who no doubt had trailed him.
Apparently the eggs and mandyr were too small for the sleepy giant to take any notice of.
Brother, brother love! Devotion (though likely the only one who knew his full name was His, as he was always called Devon) was in the process of using Er'ani's head as a springboard in his attempt to see the eggs that might hold this new brother of his. Likkle, likkle brother love Devotion! Mommy! His wings flared in greeting upon seeing Harmony. Day lovely for likkles. Yes? Yes?
M'ta squinted up at his enthusiastic mind leech, tightening his arm around Er'ani's shoulders. "Think you could not bounce so much when you walk?" the brownrider grumped at his former student and current friend. He was actually in a fairly good mood for someone bedridden after having barely avoided losing a leg to infection, a leg that was still broken but impossible to immobilize when the wound was still oozing puss and other noxious fluids. Er'ani's attempt to hide the fact that he'd roused M'ta out of bed more for the hatching than the 'fresh air' and 'company' he'd originally claimed had only been greeted with a slap upside the head. Slap upside the head = M'ta in a good mood.
No, he was even almost okay with being carried like a woman. What do you know? "A little obnoxious monstrosity just like you Impressing to an Er'ani would really make my day," he added with a wry twist of the lips. "Karma." His stomach betrayed his hunger just then, briefly distracting Devon from his worship of mother and eggs. Tummy grumblies! he announced with a flare of wing, and glided to the nearest plate to snatch at the first bit of food he could find and jump back on His as Er'ani passed with M'ta in his arms. The grape was offered to His with eagerness. "Thank you?" M'ta responded a bit uncertainly, eating the grape to please the little thing, that then crooned and darted back up to his former perch on top of Er'ani's head.

N'rik glanced back at Olivia and shrugged. "Dunno. He always acts funny around other salamandyrs," he explained. He'd never really looked much into it. Alph had just always been like that. N'rik had thought it might have something to do with not wanting to share, but he got along with Ophiuchusth fine, so who knew? It was stopping N'rik from wanting as many salamandyrs as would have him, despite people telling him they didn't like to share. One of the wherhandlers had three, so why couldn't he?
The first few eggs cracked and N'rik's grin returned. These were just as awesome as he remembered them! They were so varied in personality too. "What about you?" he asked Olivia, not taking his eyes off the little greens. The brown one seemed to have picked already, pity. "Thinking about getting one before your dragon?" He didn't much care about candidates breaking the no salamandyr rule, especially since he'd managed it himself with Alph. He also had no doubt that Olivia would impress. Maybe not this time, but soon he was sure, now that Millieth and her daughter were here. She wasn't half bad, after all, for a girl.
~
T'ke munched on his food, daring the occasional glance at the Hatching in progress. They weren't wasting time, though only the brown one seemed to have left the table and he hadn't come this way. It was hard to see between the people, but he thought he saw two greens had hatched as well. It was a pity Shard was so enamored and not here. Having his own salamandyr present might scare away any new comers. Haru appeared, though, somehow summoned by the fact something was happening and no one had told her. She perched on T'ke's table, standing tall and haughty. It was only the worms, she hissed with distaste. Such creatures were unworthy of notice! They had better not think of coming here either! Bad enough she had to deal with Shard.

August was still half asleep. He didn't even notice the salamandyr eggs on his right, so busy was the boy shoveling food into his mouth. He barely noticed the crowd gathering around. He did notice though and just blinked blearily, wondering what everyone was doing around this table. He was about to tell the lot of them to shove off when something suddenly came at him from the right. The boy startled, throwing his hands up to protect his face in instinct and jumping backwards, falling right on his ass. He blinked up a few times at the crazed golden salamandyr and seemed to realize for the first time that there was a hatching going on.
" Coulda said something, sharding beast." The boy grumbled, rising to his feet. He didn't seem to take into account the fact that there had been all that humming...and people gathering. He had tuned out most of the gold's speech when he walked in. Snorting lightly, he gave a hateful glare to the salamandyr before gathering up his plate and utensils and retiring to the corner.
Stupid pets.
Olivia seemed satisfied with N'rik's answer. It didn't seem to matter why Alph was the way he was, why he hated other salamandyrs. He just did, and she was content with that. Her eyes shifted to the table as a few of the eggs started wobbling furiously. She eyed the little brown that hatched with curious eyes. He was cute, to be sure, but he seemed like a troublemaker. Olivia didn't have a problem with causing trouble, but she wasn't sure if she wanted such a bad mandyr bonded to her for all time. In fact, she wasn't sure if she wanted any of them bonded to her.
" I dunno." She answered N'rik honestly. " They're cute and all, but we're not supposed to, right?" Not that she cared. N'rik had Alph before he had impressed Ophi. Surely it wouldn't be so bad to have a salamandyr. Leaning over the table when Harmony was occupied with her brown hatchling, she watched the little greens curiously.
" I kinda do."
K'ian's attention shifted around as more and more Buri riders filtered in. He saw first the man who had the dragon that Romeoth scarred to get to Serissa's blue. For a moment, he thought about going to talk to him, but surely the other man hated him, so he turned his attention back to the eggs. Why did I agree that we needed to come here again? Rom rumbled in the back of his mind. Because it was for the best of all involved. Oh yeah. I wish they didn't hate us though. You'll never know until you talk to them. Meh. Maybe later. Shush, Rom. The salamandyrs are hatching. The dragon snorted in his mind, but stayed relatively silent after that.

Harmony currently ignored the milling people in favor of fussing over her, as of yet, unhatched eggs and two daughters. Content that the Waxing Crescent Green was fine where she was coiled around the Eclipse egg she turned to the Waning Gibbous Green. Why ever was her baby making such a racket? A soothing croon was offered the baby green as the gold dipped her head to nudge her offspring. Find yours. She commanded gently giving the Waning Gibbous Green another nudge for good measure.
Blinking up at her mother with large eyes the Waning Gibbous Green tried to pull herself together as she looked out over the humans. She could see hers but they were Sooooo far away. (Really just a short walk down the table but did he really expect her to walk that whole massive distance.) Unacceptable! As the Waning Gibbous Green gathered her legs under her the Waning Crescent Egg crumpled in on itself and fell over, spilling out a small blue mandyr who slid across the table to smack into her rump.
With a shriek she pounced upon her brother. Loooooooooove! She spat angrily at him, though she didn’t offer to bite or scratch. No, she simply rolled with the brightly colored Waning Crescent Blue over the table until they smacked into the Night Sky Egg sending it careening into the Full Moon Egg which sent up a positively ear piercing upset and angry wail from Harmony. Both the Waning Gibbous Green and Waning Crescent Blue froze in horror as the Full Moon Egg rolled to teeter precariously on the edge of the table. Oh no…. Whoops.
Even has Harmony rushed forward to save her favorite egg it exploded in a rain of shards, the gold pulling up short and flaring her wings to keep from crashing into her new baby. The Full Moon Bronze crooned affectionately up at his great golden mother touching her muzzle before scrambling away from her and the edge of the table. Blinking at the crowd he examined them briefly before simply scrambling towards K’ian and the dark haired woman leaning over near him. His sudden movement seemed to upset the Waning Gibbous Green however and she shrieked in fury. MINE! HE! MINE! She screamed to the entire hall before disengaging from the Waning Crescent Blue and sprinting after the Full Moon Bronze.
Blinking at his siblings the Waning Crescent Blue shook and chirped at Imp before righting himself and striking a pose. Much like the peacock who’s coloration he resembled he strutted straight to Ivy and crooned up at her. Hi Butiful! My preety! He completely ignored the firelizard on her shoulder for the moment. That was totally unimportant. The red head was without a doubt the most stunning thing in the room. They belonged together.
The Full Moon Bronze didn’t seem to realize he was being chased till he was almost to Elysia. Only when he heard a wailing from behind did he glace back to see his green sister bearing down on him. With a unhappy cry he sprung to grab and cling to the front of the greenrider’s shirt and blink up at her, or rather her cleavage and the bit of lace showing. Without further ado he slipped down the front of Elysia’s shirt ignoring the scream she sent up in response.
The Waning Gibbous Green stopped on the table in front of the now shrieking Elysia to hiss before she practically flung herself and K’ian’s face and sunk tiny fangs into his lip. Miiiiiiiine. She purred, at the same time filling the bronzerider’s mind with an overflow of intense love. Baaaaaad boy. Another glare was shot the hidden Full Moon Bronze as she continued to hang from K’ian’s lip.
~~~~
Completely ignoring the weird crowd collected around one table in particular, Elysia continued to tug on S’rei’s hand. “Cooooooome on. The sooner we get you fed the sooner we can go to Blossom. You promised.” Though by this point the bronzer had probably forgot. Or rather was too sleepy to remember that he had promised her a few days away once Selenitas had settled in. The greenrider froze and let go of S’rei’s hand when they got midway into the dining hall though. Harmony’s broadcast had stopped her cold. Oh no. Just no. No, no, no, no, she was NOT getting one of those nasty little worm creatures. They could skip breakfast and Salenth could just deal with flying with a sleepy S’rei. “You know I’m not really all that…” She began and then blinked as she noticed S’rei had gone on without her. “Wait! Rei you really don’t….” But he had already made his way through the crowd, (who was going to stand in the way of a man that large?), and plopped down into his chair at the very table the gold and her clutch were at. Well shit. Hovering in place for a few moments Elysia scanned the rest of the crowd.
Dark eyes settled on K’ian then. He seemed far enough away that she wouldn’t be too close to the worms. Plus he looked like he was waiting for someone to stab him in the back. Hmm. Slipping through the crowd and trying not to chuckle as Harmony started berating S’rei in an angry tone for the whole room to hear she tapped K’ian on the shoulder. “Hey there handsome. This seat taken? My friend is a bit too close to the worms for my comfort.” Leaning forward slightly to give him a better view of her low cut top she winked. “You seem to be awake enough to be good company though.”
Before she could catch the bronzer’s answer through a pair of mandyrs had appeared shrieking in front of them. Or rather the green was shrieking, the bronze simply leapt onto her chest to cling to her shirt. Elysia froze her eyes widening at the little bronze in horror before it simply slipped down her shirt and into her breastband. That seemed to loosen her throat and the greenrider screamed before stumbling a step back in surprise and smacking into whoever was standing behind her at the time.
~~~~
Er’ani wrinkled his nose at M’ta. “Not really. I am a bouncy guy.” He said rather cheerfully before looking for a spot to set up camp so to speak. For the moment he ignored both the bouncing mandyr on his head and the grumpy company. There were mandyrs hatching all over and a good number of the clutch seemed to be already out of their shells. Wow they hatched fast. Almost as fast as dragons it seemed. Setting M’ta onto one of the benches at a table near the clutch he tried not to look to eager. “You think? I really hope one of them likes me.”
Just then the table before them seemed to erupt in chaos and he shrank back a little. “Then again….”

Waning Crescent BlueName: Age: Hatchling Born: May 3017 Color: Blue ~ Base coloration: [ 33A1C9], Eye spot, wing membranes, racing stripes: [ B0E0E6] Species: Mandyr Looks to: Ivy Physical Appearance: This blue falls somewhere in the smaller size range for his color. He isn’t quite as small as a green but it’s a close thing. Everything on him from his head to his limbs to his tail length is in perfect proportion. Not one thing being smaller or larger then your average picture of what a mandyr should look like. He doesn’t have much to show off in the way of musculature. In fact he is relatively slim and sleek. Not quite skinny enough that you can see any bones or ribs through his hide but certainly a touch on the thin side. He’s quite the pretty boy in fact and he seems to realize this always picking the best poses to show himself off in just the right way. He has wings that are average in size for a mandyr. Meaning that while he will never be able to fly he will be able to glide with ease. Like the majority of his dams offspring he has no frill instead sporting the same spines that have become Harmony’s trademark. There is no way this little guy could be mistaken for anything but a blue. His hide is a bright and almost metallic shade of peacock blue. It will glimmer slightly in almost any lighting making him quite the handsome creature. The problem with this is that even when he is sick or injured his hide will retain it’s glimmer so his will have to watch him closely for any sign of ill health or the like. He has a few markings that break up the uniform quality to his hide. A perfect circle rings his left eye in a shade of powder blue. The same shade also colors his wing membranes and runs in two parallel stripes down either side of his spine. All in all he certainly is a handsome devil. Personality: The first thing you’ll notice about this mandyr is that he is loud. Not in the obnoxious way though. He’s just good at commanding the attention of the entire room without coming off as irritating. He’s simply just very prone to trying to grab the spotlight and he seems to thrive there once he has it. He’s very boisterous and outgoing, making a point to speak to anyone who seems like they could carry on a decent conversation. Thankfully he isn’t always had hard to understand even if his grammar is completely terrible. He gets his point across well enough and he’s so cheerful and charming that most will find him a decent conversation partner. There is no doubt that this male likes attention and most of the time he’s content with the positive sort. Through if you ignore him he’ll find some way to get you attention, and if negative attention is all he can get well then so be it. Though make no mistake he’ll always be charmingly apologetic afterwards. He’s protective of his bonded and certainly very possessive of their attention. He’s not very fond of others trying to take his bonded’s attention away from himself and should his ever acquire another pet or a mate you can be sure that this little blue will be suitably jealous and not very happy at all. His is his and no one else’s thank you very much. As such all their attention should be his and his alone. If you want to pay attention to him and not his fine, or if you want to pay attention to both of them ever better, but don’t be trying to weasel in on his bonded. If you do he has no qualms about trying to push you out of their life in any way he can come up with. Making up stories of infidelity? Sure. Performing mean and nasty pranks on the person. Yep. Anything to keep his to himself. As far as other mandyrs go he is perfectly capable of being civil and even friendly. The same with flits. If you’re a female flit or mandyr even better. The blue has a bit of a soft spot for the softer sex and can be extremely charming and wonderful when he wants to be. Quite the womanizer he has one goal in mind. He wants to win runs and flights and win them frequently. He’ll by no means be loyal to any pretty he catches either. But make no mistake he’ll still be sweet to her afterwards and forever more, in the hopes that she’ll continue to choose him despite his running around. He just likes to share his love is all. He’s so wonderful why should he limit himself to just one? ~~~~~ Waning Gibbous GreenName: Age: Hatchling Born: May 3017 Color: Green ~ Base coloration: [ 54FF9F], Eye spot, wing membranes, speckles: [ 4D6B50] Species: Mandyr Looks to: K’ian Physical Appearance: This green falls somewhere in the mid sized range of her color spectrum. Though not a slender and pretty looking green she is not really fat either. Instead she falls in the category of too chubby to be called skinny and not quite round enough to be called plump. Her eyes are alluring and slightly almond shaped, set into a head that is just a little too tapered to be called square. Upon her back sit two fully formed and graceful wings. Although they are not large enough for full flight she will be able to use them to perform effortless glides. Frilless she sports tines that are just a touch shorter then the rest of her siblings and a touch thicker too. Not for her are the sharp ends some of her siblings have acquired. No the tips of her tines are rounded and blunt. This is not to say that she could not sharpen them to points if she wished but such things are not of foremost importance to her. In coloration her body is a pretty shade of sea green, the color having just hints of bluish undertones that are only extremely apparent when she is in bright lighting. Her hide while not shiny will never be dull. Instead it almost looks soft to the touch. If she were ever to grow ill it will however it will be easy for hers to notice because her hide is prone to paling to an almost white shade when she becomes too upset. Like the rest of her siblings she sports a perfect circle of a grayish green over her left eye. The color also shades her wing membranes and falls in little speckles all over her body. The biggest concentration of these speckles collects across her muzzle and down her spine. She is certainly an interestingly marked mandyr even if most would not call her traditionally pretty. Personality: This little lady is pretty much the definition of ‘Drama queen’. Everything revolves around her and if you displease her you are sure to hear about it. Anything and everything is a major production for her and she’s quite the little actress, adept at making you believe that she’s really dieing from not being oiled often enough. She’s perfected the art of the puppy dog eye and she seems to have been born spoiled. She demands all the best that life has to offer and she is not happy with anything poor quality or even of average quality. How do you expect her to survive without the very best? If you so much as offer her anything beneath her standards she has no qualms of throwing the biggest fit Pern has ever seen and making sure everyone knows how abused she is and what a terrible bonded you are. Thankfully in speech she is not very eloquent. Especially when she is upset and tends to mix up and misuse her words. Though I’m not sure that makes being screamed at for all to hear any better. She’s extremely possessive of anything she views as hers. From her bonded, to their other mindmates, to whatever other human takes her bonded’s fancy. Whatever belongs to them ultimately also belongs to her and must also fawn over her accordingly. If they don’t then they will be subject to her displeasure as well. This green is obsessed with shiny things and will frequently covet anything shiny that she can get her little paws on. Doesn’t matter if it was yours before. As soon as she sees it, it then belongs to her. She will not be content until she has the biggest and most impressive hoard of all the mandyrs and the shinier the contents the better. Thankfully she forgets about one object as soon as she begins to covet another so if she does steal something important from you it shouldn’t be a big deal to ask for it back. Unless she sees hers trying to take from her hoard. She dislikes firelizard unless they are bonded to hers whereupon they simply become her slaves, put on the planet to bring her gifts and make her look better. She hates other female mandyrs with a passion and they will be subject to flung insults and general bitchiness even if she’ll never raise tooth nor claw to them. She’s not a every physical sort preferring to let her nasty words and gestures get her point across. On the flip side she adores males of her species and will become quite the flirt, doing her level best to steal all their attention for herself. In matters of mating she’ll choose only the best males and brownie points if they bring gifts to her runs. Though she’ll likely never pick a permanent mate. Her standards are simply far too high.
