As the first brown emerged from his shell Imp puffed up the way he only ever did in the presence of his hatching babies. The bronze’s aggressive stance slowly melted, away as he watched his babies, for as soon as the first hatched brown ran off an angry green emerged from the waxing cresent egg and a second whining green from the waning gibbous. Ignoring the anger and the whining Imp trilled cheerfully to the pair of them, his daughters were always the most beautiful.
A new hatched blue slid over to smack into the loud green and the pair of them wne tumbling over and over along the table. Imp left them to it, silly babies. Or aleast he left them to it until they sent an unhatched baby rolling down the table. Then Imp was bounding along as fast as his legs could carry him to get in front of the rolling full moon egg. Then had to scrabble and turn his headlong dash into a slightly comical spin to the side to avoid shooting off the edge of the table himself. There was no need for more hysteria, the full moon bronze had saved himself.
The loud green quickly ran off to find hers, or chase her bronze brother around, Imp wasn’t quite sure which she intended but the result was the same, the blue had also found someone, but the bronze, ah now there was trouble. Humans didn’t like strange ‘mandyrs hiding in their clothing and judging by the noise she made this female was no exception. Worse still Harmony was looking at him, how could he fish out the baby bronze? Dar. Come get baby out. Imp finally commanded, he was not above using Darya as a tool to keep him out of trouble with his mate, besides Darya was used to fishing Skink out of her clothes so she should know how.
Happily for Imp the cracking of the eclipse egg distracted his mate from the unfortunate clothing situation, which was now being made worse by some clumsy human male. Imp looked after the waxing cresent green as she wrapped herself around that same human male’s neck, and made a querying chirp, was she really sure she wanted that one?
Before he could get an answer from the green, if she was going to give one, yet more drama erupted in the nest behind him, a second blue creeled mournfully and a second brown... NO! Imp bellowed, a fraction too late, and another of his eggs went rolling. This baby did not manage to save itself, instead it went tumbling out of its egg to smack into a human arm and lay there, stunned.
Since Harmony was already chasing the trangressor baby out of the nest Imp trotted over to see if the pale blue was alright. Up now. the bronze encouraged, nuzzling at the blue’s shoulder.

And, sure enough, Er'ani was instantly playing knight in shining armor and helping her up, commenting on how pretty she was. What reason did M'ta have to be nice when the boy would take any opportunity to flirt with a girl, hm? She was clearly eating it up, too. The flush, the wide-eyed almost wonder...Oh, yes. Now Er'ani had mentioned something about teaching M'ta how to be like him and find himself a girl (since the kid seemed to pick them up wherever he went) but the brownrider didn't feel like selling out like this. Tch.
"Don't be so sure. I might be. My leg oozes nastiness if nothing else," M'ta commented drolly, apparently taking no offense at being called a midget for the millionth time. His eyes narrowed on Vellani, not really appreciating the dramatics much. "I suppose you helped find Teri. Not much, considering everyone saw her, but maybe I can give you the credit for your effort." The man sniffed pointedly. "A bit too concerned with the sadistic killer to thank you so I'll thank you now. But that doesn't make you less of a mess. Don't you know how to keep your feet?"
Devon crooned, arching his little spine in an attempt to bring more of his body against the girl's finger. But she still hadn't taken his offering or even acknowledged it, and as she went on ignoring him, he uttered a tiny mandyr whine. No want? No like meats? Like fruits? He really wanted to make her feel better and food almost always made His feel better. Okay, not really, but it sometimes worked.
Without noticing what was going on everywhere else, S'rei had almost managed to drop back into a doze (had Mi'rah said anything in response?) when more 'mandyr shrieks preceeded a very light but still noticeable something smacking into his arm and bouncing off just a little. The bronzer cracked open one eye. A really little blue salamandyr was sprawled out right there, and a familiar bronze was nuzzling at it.
Before his mind processed what really small blue mandyr likely meant amidst all this hubbub, he drew a finger lightly over the stunned critter, the 'mandyr definitely breathing. "It'll be all right," he muttered to Imp. "Just smacked into me. That's what happens when things smack into me." Stifling a yawn, he set his head back down on his arms. Now where were his pancakes already?
That was when the neurons and the synapses finally decided to connect a few dots. S'rei straightened suddenly, eyes darting around, first to the baby blue, then the nest of mostly hatched eggs. Right. There. He mouthed something silently that looked suspiciously like the word 'no,' and edged away from the nest and the stunned blue. If he moved any faster one was sure to notice and hone in on him. He'd already Impressed and lost one 'mandyr. Not doing that again.

Osnat quickly began counting the mandyrs left to be paired up - though that was a difficult thing to figure it seemed as she didn't exactly know the indicators of Impression. Sure, they talked about how the dragons did it, which supposedly was a lot like the mandyrs, but the connection was not elaborated on. Plus who could she really trust on the matter? Some of the mentors they stuck her with had questionable claims to knowledge and experience... that one bloke for instance was a virgin wanting to lecture them on flights. Buh. As if... Nonetheless she tried ever in vain to size up her chances of coming away a winner, eventually counting on her fingers 2 and a half de-shelled and one more after that with little to nothing going for it... so still it seemed there in stark contrast to the neck breaking movements of the mandyrs that had previously come forth.
--
Mi'rah in fact hadn't said anything. He was completely and utterly confused in that classic way that only he could be. First of all... cutie? He was a cutie? But more importantly, who was "she" and why did he need to go deck someone who was on her? The bronze rider slowly turned his head to scan for the sight of this woman but he hadn't a clue to go by. Clearly someone hadn't been informed of the current situation/relationship formed between S'rei and Elysia and hence at a complete loss. At least there were plenty of distractions in order for him to put his mind to... like pancakes, "P-p-p........pancakes?" His stutter deepened as his frustration grew... still out of the corner of his eye he was trying to figure out the mystery of "she".
Instead he managed to notice someone else entirely, which put him totally and completely into panic mode. Oh shards... he diverted his attention and brought his hands up in front of him to habitually begin tapping them together. His mandyr of course hissed at him...SSSssssserenity. Now.. It was just then that he noticed the blue who rolled into his fellow, "N-now see, that is exactly w-what I was saying about precarious, it's just.... it's just... pets are no light manner and accidental...Im..." he had somewhere where he was going with this, but he really was in a rush to escape what he interpreted as an accusing stare from Tenlie, "Anyway.... I just don't think this is a good idea..." he finished in his featherlight tone, adding only one addendum, "I'm going to run now, I suggest the same..."

Harmony watched as her bronze mate nuzzled gently at the poor little Waxing Gibbous Blue and creeled anxiously. For the moment the rest of her eggs were completely ignored in favor of making sure her tiny offspring was alright. But before the large queen could go more then another step in the direction of the stunned Waxing Gibbous Blue, a loud and obnoxious voice made itself oh so loudly heard and the gold spun to hiss in warning at Shells. She was in no mood to suffer his insults towards her mate at this time. Shut up! She spat the command venomously at the bronze before flicking her wings and turning just in time to see the sleeping giant move to touch her baby. How DARE you! In the next moment Harmony was making her way towards S’rei tail lashing back and forth as she gave an angry shriek. YOU DO NOT TOUCH!
Further down the table one of the two eggs that remained the Third Quarter Egg increased it’s rocking until it looked like it might simply rock off the table. But no before it even got to the edge a small green muzzle pushed itself through the top of the egg, the mandyr within it giving a tired chirp. A moment later the Third Quarter Green finally tumbled out of her shell. For a moment the Third Quarter Green lay there panting before she righted herself. Giving a little demure chirp towards her mother she then noticed the looming S’rei and her little eyes widened as big as they could go. With a wail of terror she scampered backwards away from the bronzer, falling over herself in her desire to put as much distance between herself and him as possible. Please don’t eat her! Gaining her feet she latched onto the first mind she noticed in her panic and filled Darya’s mind with complete terror. Save me! Save me!
It was during all this chaos that the little Waxing Gibbous Blue began to stir. Little wings twitched as Imp nuzzled at him, his eyes finally opening when he felt something else gently run along his back. Tiny head lifting from the ground he stared in wonder at S’rei as the man started to back away. Confusion blossomed into his little mind before he asked the large bronzerider in a slightly hurt tone. Why leave? He wasn’t supposed to leave without him. Did he do something wrong? Righting himself and blinking as Harmony started to prod him all over with her muzzle he nuzzled at his mother, a soft croon leaving his throat before he chirped sweetly at Imp. Then rearing up on tiny legs he reached equally tiny front paws out to S’rei. My friend?
Behind the small group the Night Sky Blue gave another mournful trill, this time in response to the golden leg that smashed it’s way out of the Eclipse Egg. Oh dear. She was hatching. Doooooom! He called out to the room at large. They should all run now if they knew what was good for them.

Elysia was highly amused as A’emi went on. Rose petals, candles, and wine huh? “Why darling if your hand wasn’t currently up my shirt I’d say you’re just trying to get in my pants again.” She remarked in a near purr dark eyes narrowing slightly as the mandyr continued to squirm. “Do whatever you want just get the damn thing…” Her words were interrupted however by K’ian’s speech and A’emi’s snappish retort. Really did they need to get into a pissing contest when her breasts were in peril? “Priorities please.” She snapped with a little irritation just as Mouse dove for A’emi and as such her as well. The greenrider just might have given an undignified yelp, and ducked her head to the side to avoid Mouse as well, when yet another green menace descended in their direction. At this point Elysia was really considering just tearing her shirt off and running for the nearest exit. Fuck. This. Again she was left wondering just why she had not just decided to skip breakfast. What did she magically attract worms or something?
But no Elysia was left blinking when A’emi froze and uttered a curse and something about Kyrahth killing him. Ah then the skeletal worm was his then? Poor thing. A brief flash of a sincere pity ran through her for him but not much more then that when he continued to say that the bronze had impressed. “What! To who?” She demanded with a hiss but A’emi was already withdrawing and muttering in a tone that clearly seemed to suggest that he was having some type of mental trauma. The greenrider might even have been a little concerned for him, if she didn’t still have a bronze worm cuddling with her breasts. Elysia resisted the urge to whine as K’ian too started to take his leave. Some help they were. Dark eyes narrowed and she had just seized the edge of her shirt when a young candidate boy approached her. Blinking at him she titled her head as he leaned forward and started talking to her breasts. Ah so he was the owner of the little Bastard. Finally. When the bronze had exited her breastband and glided to his bonded Elysia almost distractedly smoothed her hands over her shirt. Dark eyes regarded Serring with an almost unreadable expression when he apologized before they flitted down to the bronze as it too started speaking. Beautiful lady? The Benden woman snorted softly at the adoring croon. Now the little menace was sucking up to her? Typical man. Wrinkling her nose she responded. “You’re forgiven. Just keep him out of other people’s shirts huh? He’s lucky he didn’t get smashed.” With that she turned to look for S’rei still adjusting her breastband and giving death glares to every mandyr in the vicinity. Ah there he was…..backing away from the clutch he seemed to have finally noticed with a look quite like terror on his face.
Uh oh. Without another word Elysia began to shove her way through the crowd and towards the bronzer.

Er’ani smiled in a reassuring fashion as Vellani flushed brightly and shot to her feet, nearly ending up back on her rear. With a soft chuckle he reached out to catch her arm and help her steady herself. Shards but she was cute. Maybe a bit of a nervous wreck but cute.
“You don’t have to apologize. It’s all good. You’re out of the line of fire back here with us at any rate?” He offered as he waited for her to collect herself a little better. Giving her arm a little squeeze once she was steady, the albinorider released her. “Vellani huh? Like I thought your name’s just as pretty as the rest of you.” With a charming smile and a wink he let his eyes leave her face to look at the firelizard she had mentioned. “Well then it’s nice to meet you too Sammy. Terrible of me to forget you. You have my apologies.” Turning his gaze back to Vellani he chuckled.
“We have something in common then. Last mandyr hatching I was at was a pretty bad experience for me too. The little things sure seem to attract chaos.” When the girl glanced back at M’ta Er’ani let his eyes drift over to the shorter man as well. “You did did you?” The young man clicked his tongue. “That’s not very surprising he can be sort of the grump sometimes.” Just then the brownrider spoke up and the albinorider wrinkled his nose. “See what I mean? And that’s him being nice.” Leaning closer to Vellani he stage whispered to her. “Try not to take offense. I get slapped upside the head and called and idiot and he adores me.” Looking back at M’ta he grinned. “Isn’t that right M’ta?”

Third Quarter GreenName: Age: Hatchling Born: May 3017 Color: Green ~ Base coloration: [ 324F17], Eye spot, wing membranes, belly: [ 397D02] Species: Mandyr Looks to: Darya Physical Appearance: This green is positively tiny. In fact if not for her undoubtedly green hide color one might think she is a white. She is built delicate too. Quite like a china doll she is elegant and refined. Every line of her body smooth and flawless. She perhaps could be just a touch too much on the thin side, though instead of making her look emaciated it just further solidifies her overall delicate and breakable look. Tiny limbs are in perfect proportion to her tiny body and her tail is long and tapers to a whip thin tip. She will be fond of using her tail in fact mostly to twine her tail through her bonded’s fingers to ‘hold hands’ with them. The wings that grace her back are large enough to use for gliding though she doesn’t use them much preferring to use her own to feet to get around or even better yet hitch rides on unsuspecting passerby. Like most of her brothers and sisters this clutch she has no frill. Instead sporting elegantly curving and thin spines in it’s the frills place. Hers are a shiny black exactly the same shade of the small claws that tip her toes. In coloration she is undoubtedly green. A darker shade that might remind one of the color of a lime rind. She even looks almost textured like a lime though if one where to ever so carefully stroke their finger down her back they would find that this is nothing but an illusion as she is just as smooth as any mandyr. Like the rest of her siblings she has a spot covering her left eye the spot being the color of a fresh from the garden green pepper. The same pepper like coloration also covers the entirety of her wing membranes and solidly colors her whole belly. Yes despite her size there is no doubt that this little lady is anything but what her hide color states she is. Green Personality: This little lady seems not to have inherited the boisterous behavior of most of her siblings. Instead she’s very demure and certainly extremely shy. The green most often can be found hidden somewhere on her bonded’s person peeking out curiously at the rest of the world. She’s not really antisocial by any means. No she adores other mandyrs and people and the like. It’s just that most of them make her a bit nervous. If you’re careful and quiet you might be able to coax her into interacting with you but it is a rarity. She certainly loves her bonded though and is extremely obedient to their commands. She also seems to have no problems when it comes to shyness with her chosen either. In fact when she sees something that excites her she has no problems chattering away about it. Thankfully she is quite verbose for a green and certainly eloquent enough to make sense, even if she can’t form full sentences and some larger words are beyond her capability. Occasionally she will stray away from her bonded. Most often when she is curious about something going on or some person or another. In fact she makes for an excellent little spy. No detail however small escapes her notice and she is intelligent enough to repeat in full what she has witnessed. Even if she doesn’t quite understand it. She seems to have perfected the art of being invisible. Her tiny size and garden green coloration making for excellent camouflage. Add in her quiet demeanor and you’ll never realize she’s only inches away eavesdropping on your every word and action. It just takes a few kind words from hers, and the offer of a treat for a job well done, before she’s spilling out the entirety of what she has witnessed for hers. She’s obedient enough to want to please and certainly not opposed to being praised profusely for it. For all her interest in watching others there are a few things that make her very nervous. Human men for example cause her to go into little bouts of panic and hide. Especially if they are rather large. (Though lets face it everyone looks rather large to her) She might be tempted to interact with them if they are soft spoken and offer treats but for the most part she would rather avoid them entirely. Also anything with a personality that is overbearing or loud is undesirable. Luckily perhaps for hers this little green will never be in runglow. Whether because of her small size or some other reason she will perpetually have the attitude of a very sweet and obedient child. ~~~~~ Waxing Gibbous BlueName: Age: Hatchling Born: May 3017 Color: Blue ~ Base coloration: [ C1F0F6] , Eye spot, frill and wing sails: [ 008080] Species: Mandyr Looks to: S’rei Physical Appearance: This little blue is rather small for his coloration. In fact he is more the size of a green. Which is almost ironic considering he also has the same dainty build as one. Far from being masculine looking this male could almost be described as pretty in stature. He has large fully functional wings that he will use expertly almost from birth. In fact he could put some green firelizards to shame with the twists and tricks he will be able perform. A long thin and whippy tail rounds out his look along with large alluring eyes that always seem to gave a curious quality to them. Unlike his golden sister this blue sports not a half frill but a perfect full one. Certainly a rarity amongst Harmony’s offspring. His hide is a pale almost white shade of pastel blue. The coloration boosts a certain blue shine and tint in certain lighting leaving no doubt as to his true coloration. If that blue sheen was not enough to stop people from mistaking him as a white his markings should do the trick. One large teal spot covers his left eye and trails in almost miniscule speckles down his back, giving the impression that someone might have sprinkled glitter on him. His wing sails and frill also sport the same teal coloration and display intricate patterns of light and dark when the sun hits them fully. Personality: This little blue is possessed with unending curiosity. He’s most concerned with how something works, why it works, and what it’s used for. Or why a human or a dragon performs this or the other action. Or why the sky is blue and not red. For all his curiosity however he’s a bit slow to understand new things and the answer might have to be repeated and re-explained several times over before he understands it completely. He’s almost childlike in the way he reacts to new things and it makes his curiosity endearing rather then just simply annoying. He seems to enjoy the simple things in life the most. Like a choice piece of meat, or a warm spring day, the peace of a babbling stream, or the silent company of a friend. In speech he is not anywhere near gifted enough to form full or grammatically correct sentences. Not that it matters. He gets his point across well enough. He’s intelligent enough for a blue and no dimglow even if he is a tad slow. He’s extremely loyal, protective, and fond of his bonded even if he’s not an overly affectionate sort. He’ll give light nuzzles on the rare occasion but he’s not really much of a cuddler. His loyalties, protectiveness, and fondness also extend to the few friends he might manage to acquire. Once you have him as a friend you most likely have a friend for life. He’s not easily driven away unless you hurt him or hurt one of the others he’s fond of, most noticeably his bonded. Even then he won’t hate you, just regard you with a quiet sadness and his trust once broken is not something that can or will be easily repaired if ever. You have to mess up pretty big to lose him and once you do good luck getting his trust back. The only acceptation to this rule is his who he will love till his dying day obviously. His love and acceptance seems to extend to all species big and small and he doesn’t make judgments. He will befriend other mandyrs, firelizards, whers, humans, and even dragons. It seems that the blue has not a prejudiced bone in his body. He seems to be capable of loving any and all. Which is perhaps ironic in a sense because this blue will never chase. He seems to be curious on just why others run but he will never run nor chase himself. He simply does not understand such a concept and seems to have been born with no sexual drive of his own whatsoever. Just because he won’t chase doesn’t mean he doesn’t have enough love for all however.

Ivy ~
Full lips were curled in a soft smile as she watched Perses eat from her plate. He was quite the little charmer, this one. She definitely felt she was one of the lucky ones after seeing how some of the others were acting. Attacking faces, ducking down shirts, biting... She wasn't much for those things. Yes, she had come out on top this hatching - not like when she got Eros...
The blue firelizard picked up on His' thoughts and squawked out. He was not happy that his Ivy-slave liked the little worm thing more than him. He was far superior. His hide was brighter, his wings were larger, he was just a superior being of course. So why did she smile so sweetly at the little worm? Maybe he was sweet. Well, Eros could be sweet too! As if to prove this fact the brightly hued blue disappeared for a moment then returned with a very large jungle flower, it was colored with bright splashes of golds and reds. He landed on her free shoulder and nuzzled His' cheek lightly, crooning oh-so-sweetly to her. See? Pretty flower. So pretty, but not as pretty as she was.
Ivy couldn't help but giggle a bit as she found herself caught in a tug-of-war between her blue firelizard and her blue salamandyr for her attention and affection. Yes Eros could be a complete pain in the arse, but she did love him. And she could love Perses too. "Oh you two, you should be friends! I will love you both equally you know, no matter how much you two try to butter me up and out-do the other."
Still Perses was not going to be out done by Eros and spoke up (again, loud enough for everyone else to hear as well), Flower preety. But my preety is preetifuller! Butiful, butiful, mine mine mine! Preety flower no good enuff for my butiful, silly ugly midget draago!
Oh dear, it didn't seem the two blues would be getting along at all - Eros hissed at the salamandyr then disappeared. Unbeknownst to Ivy, when she returned to the barracks her bunk would be absolutely decked out and covered in all the most beautiful flowers the firelizard could find in the jungle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Swithin ~
Another chuckle came from the slightly-older handler as he watched the redhead next to him while eating his dinner. Though he wasn't privy to all the thoughts and emotions of her firelizard, even he could see it wasn't fond of her new pet. And the new pet didn't seem too fond of the older one either. The poor girl was going to have a hell of a time with those two. So he decided he'd leave her be to her pets and own thoughts, not wanting to add more onto her plate as it were.
Plate... a glance down to his said it was empty - but his stomach was not quite full yet. So he side-stepped and squeezed around and past the others who were there. Some waiting to see if they'd get one of the 'mandyrs, others already having been chosen. Eyes glanced from face to face as he tried to match names in his memory with some of those who had been at Burimyu before the merger. Unable to recall most of them - though a few certainly stuck out in his mind - he focused on the task at hand, more food. Nearing the kitchens he was going to grab seconds when he recalled that supplies were probably still low. After all the 'exile' weyr had been living off stolen goods from tithes and a good amount of the supplies that Selenitas had were lost during the earthquake. So instead of grabbing more food he decided he wouldn't waste away to nothing without more and instead just dropped his plate off.
Heading back across the dining hall he intended to make a bee-line for the door, but then a voice broke into his head. Doom? What could be a cause for doom? Eyes swung towards the table and he noticed the glint of a gold hide from one of the eggs. Another Gold? This could prove to be interesting...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roselle ~
Annnnnd, he was gone. Great, her awkward attempt at a conversation had scared him away - not that Tserieth minded. You can do better Rosemine. Kaaoloth's, for instance.
Am I incapable of even making a friend without your approval?
You thought he was attractive. I felt it.
So? I didn't plan on jumping in bed with him tonight you know.
More little hatchlings! So noisy, can hear some from here! Who is that one going on about, you are obviously the most beautiful but he says His is, but you are not His. Tserieth commented on the very boisterous Blue that had attached itself to some redheaded Candidate they'd brought from Selenitas.
Just because you think I am the most beautiful, doesn't make it so.
Does too.
Rather than argue with her Green, Roselle just tuned her out. The pair of them could go on and on arguing this point for the rest of the day if the weyrling didn't choose to end it now. So Roselle's dark eyes went towards the clutch and the activity surrounding it. Biting? Check. Scratching? Check. Random craziness? Check. Unwanted pairings? While she couldn't be 100% sure on the last one, she bet it was a check as well. The number of not bonded salamandyrs was dwindling. The number of unhatched eggs was even fewer, which brought a frown to the young woman's face. She hadn't been too hopeful from the get go, really she had come more for Tserieth than herself, but still. She had gotten out of bed and everything - risking humiliation should she run into T'ri (or worse, Sel'n, who she had been avoiding like the plague outside of lessons - during which she'd stayed towards the back of the group and did her best to not bring any attention, good or otherwise, to herself). Shouldn't she be rewarded with something for such a risk?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruliana ~
The Greenrider watched with an amused smirk as another woman's Blue firelizard disappeared then returned with a flower for her. And here she had thought her Poe was the only sweetheart who did such things - maybe it was a Blue trait? As she mused over this, she missed out on a few important events around her - such as the little bronze ending up in someone's shirt, and a Candidate having to go over to fetch it. She would have quite enjoyed that one to be sure.
Her attention once more returned to the world outside her own mind when Poe nudged her to look at the remaining eggs just as one of the salamandyrs cried out DOOOOM! What could be worthy of such a warning during a hatching?
OH! Was that a gold she'd spied? Perhaps. Or maybe a trick of the light. Moving she found herself behind a group of children - well not really children she supposed, since they weren't all that young. Surely of age to be Candidates, well at least two of them were. Smiling as she peered over their heads she tried her best to get a better look. Oh, it was! "Wonder who that one will go to, a gold, if you didn't see."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serring ~
Sweat nearly beaded on his forehead as he awaited the woman's response to both his apology and Atlas'. Then she forgave him, he got to keep all his limbs and other appendages, and she moved on. Whew, that was a close one. A stern look was shot to the bronze salamandyr who was at this point climbing down Serring's arm and looking about for something.
Beauty lady not happy. No no. Lacey things soooo nice though. Find more? More pretties. More lacey pretties, must find! Atlas told Serring as he looked around the room.
"Oh no no no. Aren't you hungry?"
Staaaaaaaaaaarving. The bronze was reminded of the hunger pains in his little belly by the mention of food and crawled down to wrap around Serring's wrist. Cannot find pretties without food. Sooooo hungryyyyy.
So it hadn't fully distracted him from his mission to raid other shirts and who knows where else in his quest for lacey undergarments, but it would have to do for now.

A’emi blinked at K’ian, half-amused and half-irritated, and then confided privately to the Salamandyr once the bronzerider had taken his leave, “Was that a shit insult? Yes, it was. I hope he has fun when his worm Runs.” It wasn’t that he didn’t like the Salamandyr, because he did; she struck him as impressively intelligent and downright interesting, and far superior to most of her infamous kin. Salamandyrs like her he wouldn’t mind Impressing at all—the same way he didn’t mind Impressing a firelizard like Darkling. It was just Kyrahth—and the green would get over it. She always deferred to him; perhaps not the healthiest or even most balanced relationship ever, but it worked for them.
My sister has a name, beloved, the green chided, soft amusement threaded through her mind-voice. As I do not, and would be most grateful for one, but nevertheless it may wait. Look; the woman has left. Feed me now, please. It was a request turned into a demand by the razor-sharp prick of her teeth scraping gently against his throat at the pulse, light enough to be affectionate, deliberate enough to be threat.
“Yeah, okay,” A’emi answered, blinking as another sharp vicious wave of Kyrahth’s hurt shivered down his spine, and turned to grab a meatroll from the nearest plate, ignoring the incredulously woeful look he received for his theft. He’d just peeled apart the roll when a flash of feathers caught his eye above and he blinked up as the Salamandyr flared her wings open and glided down to his hand to eat. Huh. A Razorclaw watching a Salamandyr Hatching; for food or entertainment? He tilted his head, squinted, and whistled tentatively at the Razorclaw—it was M’kai’s, wasn’t it?
He raised his arm to offer her a perch after a moment of hesitation, deciding that if it was Kami then she probably wasn’t going to rip his sleeve apart or go for his Salamandyr—who still needed a name—and if it wasn’t, then it probably wouldn’t go near him anyway; he wasn’t familiar with any other Razorclaws but from what he’d heard, they were shy enough to stay away from strangers, right?
“I need naming help,” he said, half to Kami (who probably couldn’t hear him) and half to the Salamandyr herself. “What do you think about Cressida? Or Phrynia?” He paused, watching the green snap voraciously into the meatroll. “Titania?” It only seemed fitting to have a name with some sort of poetry background; Darkling’s name was based on a poem and she didn’t even care about poetry in the least. So this green—who Hatched adoring it, apparently—couldn’t not have a poetic name. “I like Titania,” he added thoughtfully, curling his fingers in to stroke down her back lightly.
The Salamandyr turned her head into his touch, purred. I am fond of Titania; that will do. Her tail coiled around his wrist, the tip brushing against his pulse softly. Thank you, love. Perhaps you should introduce me to Her, and to the firelizard of whom you think.

Ten remained frozen as Mi'rah's eyes tracked across the room, searching, then met hers for just a split second. Concerted low hissing sounded from the rafters as Mi'rah turned away, attempting to hurry out of the room; Big Brother and Cujo apparently did not approve of his attempt to flee, although neither blue was likely to do much but hiss. Grip chimed in a plaintive No? that was almost certainly drowned out by a sudden shout of Dooooom, and Ten stayed where she was, attempting to process.
Finally, Rajnith broke in, distinctly not amused. Have you no dignity, TenlieSlaveLove? You must appear aloof, not desperate. See? You scared him away. Now pay attention to this other one that is speaking to you, I do believe he is attached to Garaeth, and I hear good things about Garaeth.
Recovering herself once Rajnith jabbed her brain again, Ten tried not to visibly shake herself off, attempting to recall what, exactly, T'ke had said. Something about one of those creatures, Rajnith supplied, so Ten went with, "Oh? Do you already have a salamandyr?" Safe enough, right?
--
Kami was practically itching for A'emi to invite her down. If he called her, after all, Harmony and Imp could hardly object to her presence. So when he whistled and held out an arm, she was pretty much already in the air, spiraling down to land as softly as she could before hopping up to cling near his shoulder. That gave her a MUCH better vantage point to peer around at the pretty little tunnelsnake-thing. Nuzzling A'emi's neck briefly, she grumbled vaguely at the first two names - nice, but not quite right - before warbling happily when he came on Titania. Yesss, very good. Stretching her neck out as far as she could, Kami mimicked A'emi's petting gesture with her beak (likely risking a bite, but if Titania felt like biting she would find herself scolded and probably grounded).
--
Phaiden beamed up at her mother, bouncing over to give her a huge hug out of pure excitement before she wove her way through the crowd, coming up next to Olivia and N'rik. Usually, the little girl might be shy, but no one else seemed to be her age; it would be nice not to be stuck with so many adults all the time. Not to mention that the girl was wearing the coveted white candidate knots, and the boy had knots identifying him as a Rider. If he could be a rider, Phaiden figured, she could too. Couldn't hurt to figure out how she'd done it.
"It's a gold!" Phaiden piped up, answering Olivia's question as her introduction. She glanced up at Ruliana briefly - the two females had spoken pretty much at the same time, both identifying the queen - and giggled before sticking her hand in the general direction of Olivia and N'rik. "I'm Phaiden, nice to meet you. Can I watch the rest of the hatching with you?"
--
Piden remained comfortably at the back of the crowd - safest place at one of these things - generally ignoring what was going on in favor of checking out the crowd, looking for suitable conquests. Based on their interactions, everyone looked obnoxiously straight-laced and teenager-y. Where had all of the adults gone? On second look, though, Piden realized most of those present were teenagers. Sigh. When did he get so old?
Shells, of course, was pretty much the opposite of his Handler. Harmony's command quieted him for a second, but only a second - she hadn't specified a time frame, after all. Oh, Monsies make mistake, he cooed, Must be stress hatching times. Monsie no be stress Shells daddy, but no matter. Shells bring gift.... But the Bronze was distracted by the Night Sky Blue's shout, golden head whipping around as he flared his scarlet frill in curiosity. Harmony was mated, Dementia was mated, and both females seemed content to let their obviously inferior choices blind them to the reality of Shells' awesomeness. That leg, however, belonged to a gold with no such foolish ideas. Amending his previous statement, the bronze added, For beauful baby-shine. Yes. Not for Mommy, to honor baby honors mommy. Denden!
Summoned by his Salamandyr, Piden glanced at the egg, then at Shells, and decided it would be easier to toss the thing over the crowd than to try and push through. So he lobbed the egg - Razorclaw - which earned a terrified shriek from Shells as he launched to snatch it out of the air. The Bronze's wings were near useless, of course, so he came to rest on the nearest person - Brelas - before scampering down the Candidate's shirt and on to Harmony's table, hugging the egg to his chest and running upright on his over-long back legs. Piden felt pricks of awareness from Three and Red; they didn't like their brain-brother, but if it came down to a fight, they would be at his side in a flash. While Imp and Harmony were distracted with various wayward babies, Shells tottered towards the clutch, eventually putting the egg down and rolling it the last few feet. For beautygoldshiny! he announced to the room at large, Come and get! Hatch first!

K’ian proceeded to feed Mouse after the episode with A’emi and Elysia. He was surprised at how much meat the little green had wanted stuffed into her mouth. Fortunately though, her voracious appetite eased up and she fell asleep in the crook of the tall bronzer’s arm. He felt a prickle of recognition from Romeoth then. Please tell me I didn’t make that much of a pig of myself after I hatched. The tall man snorted lightly, wondering if it would wake up the newly hatched salamandyr. She didn’t even stir, so deeply was her meat stuffed coma. No. You made a bigger pig of yourself. The man remarked, remembering how many bowls of meat it took to satiate the newly hatched Romeoth. Somehow, and it wasn’t just by the bristle of annoyance in Romeoth’s awareness, he knew the big bronze didn’t believe him.
For a moment, he worried about what a sight he must have made, a big bronzerider, arm wrapped around a tiny mint colored green salamandyr. He dared anyone to make fun of him. He’d hand them their head on a silver platter. Most interesting. Someone seems overly defensive. Your masculinity isn’t challenged now, is it? K’ian ignored Romeoth’s jabs. He didn’t need this now from his best friend. Eyes darted around, most of the mandyrs had impressed. There were two left, a blue and a gold which was struggling with her egg. K’ian decided to hightail it out of there before one of them got any bright ideas and impressed to him. Turning, he left the dining hall, surprised he didn’t wake Mouse up as he moved.
August was in the middle of a small argument with the cooks. They didn’t want to supply him with more food because of the salamandyr hatching. Not everyone had eaten yet because of it and they weren’t comfortable giving anyone seconds before everyone had eaten. He was in the process of trying to reason with them why he was more important than the others here and he needed more breakfast than then. Unfortunately, the whole kitchen staff were being insufferable wretches, so the boy had to give up on his hopes of getting more food to stuff into his face.
Oblivious as always, Gus stomped towards the entrance of the dining hall, not noticing the curly haired weyrling who stood there. The older candidate was in a crash course with Qaena and ran into her head on, probably knocking them both to the ground in the process, a tangle of limbs.
Kaius finished eating. He was still hungry by this point, but didn’t see the point in taxing the cooks any farther than he already had. They probably had their hands full with the hatching going on. So, throwing his feet up on the table, he crossed his arms and watched the rest of the eggs with half lidded eyes.
King, on the other hand, had other ideas. He leaped off the table, gliding over to the egg table. Eyes settled on Shells and the younger bronze bristled angrily. Why couldn’t he take a hint? Dumb bronze leave sister and mama alone! Stupid bronze make bad babies, not best like mama. Not bestest like King. Not that he had ever had babies, but still...technicalities. Though he was angry, he had to admire the bronze’s persistence, Us the roles had been switched, King probably would have been just as persistent, trying to get his queen at all costs, competition be damned. Still, the roles weren’t switched, and King had had just about enough of Shells’ harassment of his mother.
“ Good.” She said, casting a glance back at the table. Most of the eggs seemed to be hatched, but she wasn’t in any immediate danger of being smacked upside the head by a wet, writhing mass of newborn salamandyr, but you never knew. She wouldn’t put her guard down until the very last one had been impressed. The persistent salamandyr on her shoulder got the better of her anxiety and she beamed over at Devon, stroking his head with a finger. “ Thank you!” She said brightly, taking the meatroll he had in his paws. She wasn’t exactly sure where it came from, but she didn’t want to hurt the mandyr’s feelings so she popped it in her mouth, grinning at Devon while she swallowed it.
Her attention was brought back to Er’ani quickly an she tried not to blush again when he mentioned her name. She never thought her name was particularly pretty, but coming from Er’ani, it meant a lot. She was going to say something when M’ta spoke and she grinned at the short man. “ You’re welcome, then. Maybe next time you’re in a jam, I’ll be around to help.” She really did like him, despite his obvious disdain for her. M’ta seemed to have obvious disdain for everything, though, so that wasn’t saying much. Sammy chittered happily and settled down on Vellani’s head, spreading his body out over her long, blonde hair. He watched the proceedings with interested eyes, he was privy to Ani’s tensing up when Er’ani brought himself close to her. No one else would be though, as it was a minute shift in her stance.
She giggled at his words, eyes shifting over to M’ta, amusement rippling through them. “ If he treats you like that, I’d hate to see how he treats anyone he truly hates.” M’ta might not have been the most delightful weyrlingmaster, but that was just part of his personality. After all, it wasn’t like he meant to be an asshat. After that, she attempted some more chatting with Er’ani, after all, she had him here, might as well take advantage of the situation. “ So.” She glanced between the boy and his mentor “ Are either you wishing to impress…again, in your case?” She asked, stroking Devon’s head again. “It seems like the hatching’s almost over.” Vellani said, standing on her tip-toes and attempting to see over all the people. She didn’t really care to impress, herself. Sure, she wouldn’t mind if she happened to impress, but Sammy was enough for her for right now.
Suddenly, Olivia was assaulted by two voices at the same time. There was a girl beside her and an older one behind her. At the moment, the little girl felt a pang of intense jealousy that she wasn’t the only one to notice the little queen breaking out of her shell. That passed quickly though, she didn’t like thinking negative thoughts about others. “ Yep!” She said brightly, looking back to the hatching table, but talking to both Ruliana and Phaiden at the same time. “ I bet she’ll go to someone amazing. Queens NEVER choose wrong.” The girl said with a single minded matter-of-factness. It was widely known that a salamandyr, not just a golden one, would never go to the wrong person, and no matter who the gold chose, she was sure that that person would be perfect.
“ Hi!” Olivia said just as brightly when the younger girl introduced herself. She giggled and shook Phaiden’s hand. “ I’m Olivia, and this is N’rik. He’s a dragonrider, isn’t that cool? One day, I’ll be a dragonrider, I hope. But if not, it’s okay, because it just means I was meant to be something else!” She nodded to the girl, obviously pleased to have her company. “ Sure!” She glanced to N’rik. “ I mean, if N’rik doesn’t mind.” Then she leaned closer to Phaiden and whispered. “ But he shouldn’t, because he’s super cool.”
Saphor watched her daughter run off, pleased when she settled in with the two other children. She hoped one day her daughter would become a candidate, even if she herself never impressed anything. Afterwards, she would continue to glare at Piden, making a mental note to confront him once the hatching was over and people weren’t around anymore.

Darya sighed heavily as she was summoned by Imp, but rose from her chair anyway, she’d probably have to do exactly nothing about Elysia’s salamandyr problem, either the little bronze would choose her, or it would choose someone else, and it would be their problem the he was down Elysia’s top.
Sure enough by the time she’d actually made it through the crowd around the greenrider, an older lad had come over to claim the shirt diving bronze, which lost Darya the chance to tell Elysia not to be such a baby but meant that she didn’t have to do anything about it. She forbore to comment on either the bronze, the green perched on A’emi, or anything else for that matter, rather she bulled her way through a little more of the crowd to lean on the back of Mo’rya’s chair, it figured he’d have a good view, as far as she could tell he’d been at every hatching going adding three more pets to the gold firelizard he’d Impressed on the beach near Selenitas.
Mo’rya had been totally fascinated by the hatching eggs, as always, there wasn’t an egg in the world he didn’t want to see hatch, except maybe a chicken egg, chicks were so horrible looking when they first hatched, he like them better once they were fluffy. So intent was the bronzerider on the progress of the hatching that he barely even noticed Darya looming over him. Wit did though and turned to look at her for a moment beforee it became apparent that she was not about to feed him, then he picked the hatchlings as more interesting.
Imp gave the blue another soft nuzzle and patted S’rei’s elbow with one front paw. Too big, Sleeper. He commented in a comforting tone. However his mate managed to quickly turn Imp’s attention back to her with her fit of rage. Stood between his angered mate and the stunned hatchling Imp turned to look at her. Shells loud. Ignore him, babies better than Shells, much better. The brindled bronze advised sagely. Her next words made Imp cast a confused look between Harmony, S’rei, and the waxing gibbous blue. Sleeper is too big, but careful. Baby is fine now, Sleeper is his. Imp paced slowly toward his furious mate and nuzzled her behind the frill spines. Then he abruptly looked up. Dar has baby? He asked, in the dramatic events surrounding the blue Imp had failed to notice the green’s choice until now.
Save me! Save me! That plea was the first Darya noticed of the tiny green in the nest, her attention had been focused on Imp, S’rei, and the blue that had been tumbled from the nest. ‘You cannot be serious.’ The bluerider muttered, though she moved swiftly for the table containing the nest and put her hand down flat, palm up on the table to pick up the baby that was apparently hers. The dark green that bounded onto her hand, and then up her arm to lurk inside the collar of her shirt was, well, teeny, she’d be surprised if this green ended up bigger than Skink.
With the tiny green tucked insided her shirt Darya wandered back to Mo’rya and relieved him of on of the meatrolls he’d picked up. ‘How many salamandyrs were you hoping to Impress anyway?’ she asked while she tried to lure the green out with a bit of meatroll. She didn’t listen for an answer though, knowing Mo’rya it was all of them.
Gone? The green poked her head out of her shelter and looked around. No more scary giant. Good. Quick as a thought she ran back down Darya’s left arm to perch on the bluerider’s fingers and coil her tail between them. Love you. The green said seriously as she wrapped her front paws around the offered food. Darya smiled, charmed by the little salamandyr despite herself. ‘Now little one, what shall we call you? You should really have a name.’ Darya watched her newest pet for a while considering names, Glass would have suited her delicate looks but glass broke so easily and Darya didn’t want to give her an ill omened name. By the time Darya was down to a choice between just two names Mo’rya took an interest and leaned over to look at the green, who was so busy eating she didn’t notice him.
‘You should call her Sweetling, because she’s sweet.’ Mo’rya’s voice made Darya jump slightly and her salamandyr look at him and return to hiding. Sweetling? She repeated, gazing curiously out at Mo’rya. Like Sweetling. Call me Sweetling. Darya resisted the urge to smack herself in the head.

T'ke nodded, finally noticing how distracted Tenlie seemed. Maybe she'd seen someone else she knew? With the weyrs coming together so fast, a lot of people still hadn't found each other. Apparently it wasn't important enough for her to leave the table, though. Not that T'ke would blame her. He knew he wasn't the most interesting person for conversation. "She's around," he answered vaguely, frowning slightly at the 'doom' in his head. "I probably won't be able to pull her away from her mate for a few weeks." Haru sniffed with disdain at both the thought of Shard and the little blue's sudden announcement. Foolish worm! He was lucky he was so far away and she couldn't catch him!
~
N'rik turned around at the new voices, finally pulling his eyes from the clutch in time to see that he was now surrounded by girls. Olivia was one thing, but he didn't even know these other ones. The older one must be a rider, or an older candidate, while the other was certainly too young. He frowned slightly, trying to stand a little taller. Ruliana didn't have to treat them like they were kids. Of course they'd seen the queen! Olivia spoke before he could, and just as well. He switched back to a grin just as quickly and shrug at the observations. He wouldn't say no to a queen. Then he could have an army of salamandyrs!
N'rik did open his mouth to speak at a few points, but Olivia was doing such a good job by herself. He swelled a little with pride, knowing he didn't look old enough to actually be a rider yet. He could hardly argue with someone who called him 'cool' even if it meant letting the new girls hang out with them. "Yeah, sure," he agreed, waving at the eggs. "I don't mind. Maybe one of us will get lucky!" Only two left, sure, and one of them that odd blue, but that was still good odds in his eyes.

X'vier was sitting at one of the tables with V'rael. The morning had barely begun when a Mandyr queen announced her babies hatching. He had hoped to be out of the dining hall. Mine? Its not nice to ignore Queens. He chewed his food, wishing a full mouth could delay telepathy. I don't think Passion would appreciate that Mirazeth.He said automatically. Besides, one is enough. He glanced over at V'rael to see the man start to slink away from the table.
"Don't be a coward V'rael. If I can sit and eat breakfast in this chaos surely a pirate like yourself can stomach eggs in it." He knew the man was far from a coward but he wanted to make sure the man stayed. And he was trying to escape anyways.
V'rael had decided to leave the scene of the hatching as quickly as possible when X'vier's words reached his ear. "Oh no you didn't just call me a pirate? I Captained a fishing ship. Fair and honest business!" He choose not to acknowledge the coward remark, instead ignoring it all together. "You want to sit and watch the beasties latch themselves onto people go right ahead." He paused though. He really didn't like the idea of ducking out when others called him out. As well, so he would sit and watch. Oh Sexy, why don't you come eat with me and make sure nobody else tries to claim me. He felt her interest perk up. I'm all yours remember?
The Salamandyr made her way over to him and snuggled up to him. Me Sexy only.....bite? Hers food stuff looked so good! V'rael took the hint and gave her a bite of omelet.
X'vier noticed Sexy over on V'rael and realized the man had a great idea. So Passion, if you want to make sure I stay yours only you might want to get over here. There's a hatching going on.
Nearby Passion popped his head up, he was currently snuggled next to a delicious green flitter. Bad Mine. No others. Still he slowly extricated himself from the green. Excuse Pretties. Passion protect now. He nuzzled her affectionately and took off. It wasn't long before he found the table His and another meat sack where eating at.
As he pulled up he saw the green and eyed her appreciatively. Pretty nice, Pretty nice. Know Passion? He drooped his frills slightly when she ignored him. What female could ignore this?!
The men sat back and watched the flying, chasing, biting and hissing, both believing they where guarded from impression by greedy Mandyrs.
~~~~~~End X'vier and V'rael~~~~~~
Kalina walked in and Doooooooooom she heard a mandyr call out. Her jaw dropped as she saw what was going on. The hatching was going crazy! She walked over to the group of people standing near the table, careful not to get too close as the gold mandyr seemed....mad. There where was only one still in a cracked egg and a blue that seemed to be the source of the wailing. She watched in fascination, waiting on the final egg to break open.
~~~~~End Kalina~~~~~~~~~
In a very back corner watching the events unfold sat Asharra eating her food. She had no intention of getting anywhere near the devil spawn but couldn't help but be amused at the various reactions and events unfolding before her eyes. She still wasn't on a set schedule with the infirmary so she decided to wait until the chaotic event finished to try and find an exit. All she knew was that if any of the dirty little things came near here she would likely punt them.

What was Mi'rah babbling about? S'rei gave him a look that was somewhere between confused and irritated, though the irritation could probably be laid at the feet of the fat gold 'mandyr that was currently badgering him at the top of her lungs for touching the little blue that had slammed into him. "Noisome beast," he muttered. "Didn't hurt it." Continuing in his retreat, he wrinkled his nose at the other bronzerider. "I was half-asleep. Why would I want to tempt fa-"
It was an all too-familiar sensation, this fusion of one mind to his, but that didn't keep the words from dying in S'rei's throat as his eyes locked on the tiny blue that had lain prostrate just a moment before. Now it stood balanced on small hind legs, extending forelegs to him like a child. He hadn't wanted a 'mandyr. But this one was so sweet and innocent that it reminded him almost painfully of his own dead children, and he could hardly distress it any further. S'rei extended his hand for the little creature to join him. "I have no pancakes for you." Pancakes? "Food. Good food."
He offered a wry half-smile to Mi'rah. "Best escape quicker, old friend." The little blue curled up contentedly in his palm was indication enough of the truth of that statement. Food kind what? the little one questioned. What pancakes? "I shall have to get some for you," the bronzer responded, turning toward Els as she came toward him and giving her a small sheepish sort of smile. "Um...we have an addition?" Loooooveeely, the blue greeted her with a croon. This one was special to His.
A croon of gleefulness was given the girl as she took his offering and clearly enjoyed it, Devon pressing up into her touch. The stern lines of M'ta's face softened a bit when no one was looking, as he watched the girl and the salamandyr interact. At least until Er'ani started laying it on even thicker. "Faranth," he muttered, with a rather expressive roll of the eyes.
His expression became more and more bland as the two started talking about him. "Depends on the day," he responded flatly to Er'ani's question. Which was answer enough considering he hadn't denied it. M'ta did adore the boy, more than his other weyrlings (all of whom he adored in his fashion) for many reasons, not the least of which being he was E'rro's brother. "If we're quite done talking about me like i'm deaf or not here?"
To Vellani's question he just smiled a touch wickedly. "Nah. 'Mandyrs don't usually Impress to minds as crowded as mine. I'm here to see him get his just desserts for trying to pull one over on me this morning by Impressing to the most obnoxious 'mandyr here," M'ta concluded cheerfully. Want little brooooother, Devon chimed in.

Osnat was studiously watching the eggs, when over her shoulder she heard the distinctive smack of human against human and the thud of said humans hitting the ground. Being one of the last ones standing around in the dining caverns as she was, somebody had to go attend to the matter, and it seemed that task fell onto her. Of course, she wasn't a healer or anything. Actually she wasn't delicate enough to really handle a situation like that, as evidenced by the way she immediately snorted and laughed at the sight of a tangled up ball of Aug and Qaena. Stepping away from her spot, she put aside the mandyrs long enough to approach the clumsy knot of humanity and smile her way through the laughter that begged to come out, "Graceful much?" It was more angled at candidate than the weyrling, simply because the sort of spacey look to him painted him as the perpetrator, "Yous need a hand?" She offered one to whomever would take it. At very least she looked strong enough to pull them off the ground with relative ease.
--
Oh. It was too late for S'rei it seemed, but not too late for himself. Pacing back a couple of steps he caught sight of a humored look on the man's face and, with aid of the blue creature's childlike remarks, considered for a moment that the bronzerider got one of those ever so rare sweet ones. Mi'rah was in short, a little jealous, as he longed for his own, wishing that thoughts alone would bring him back, but as always knowing it wouldn't. The best solution of all then... especially with those pointed glares from Tenlie's pets burning into his skin... was to finally take his leave. Peccadillo couldn't agree more adding, Stupids. No need. Though which group of "stupids" the green mandyr was referring to was up to interpretation.

Qaena knew she wasn't exactly a noticeable person. Still, she never expected someone to walk right into her without even noticing she was there. She found herself pinned awkwardly underneath the person - who she didn't know! - who had run into her in the first place. Breathing was complicated by the fact that she had been winded by the fall and she had a guy on h- hold on. Guy? Guy! Qaena's little panicked squeak when she was run into was nothing compared to the high pitched, alarmed squeal she let out wen she realized she was, in fact, underneath a strange man.
To make the whole situation worse, her hand was awkwardly braced against his chest in an auotmatic response to put what had fallen on her off of her. Face rapidly turning a bright red, Qaena removed her hand. Aww, my poor Nana. You're alright, yes? Is he cuuute? It would be splendifurous if you two fell in love! That the "feet sweeping," no? Khiraeth interjected herself into the situation and Qaena welcome her comforting presence, if not her words.
Instead she focused on the situation at hand. With a deep breath and a muttered "onetwothreego!" the weyrling started wiggling out from under August. "I'm sorry! So sorry. I'll watch where I'm going next time, promise. And...oh!" Another person. Another new person. Qaena managed to get free from under August and scrambeled to her feet (only to realize that she'd smacked her head against the ground and it hurt a ton). "Ah...erm, I'm alright. Help him."
