The Tundra Egg, in a firm, solid shake, soon fell onto the sands, rocking harder and harder as it collapsed into a horizontal position. Slowly, cracks crept along the shell, taking their own sweet time to free the creature within. Soon, hide was visible- a dull bronze color was seen, the egg fluid gleaming in the dim light beneath the thin cracks. However, it wasn't ready yet, and took a rest before plowing forward. The shakes became more prolonged, but it wasn't alarming yet- this bronze was merely patiently getting rid of the shell.
Simultaneously, the small white Subzero Egg slowly had shards fall off in angular pieces. These fragments fell from all sides of the shell, slowly revealing patches of a teal green hide. Sensing it was near done, it let out one last, hard shake, casting the shards every which way. The little green looked around in confusion, and immediately let out a loud creel. She was hungry. On wobbly legs, she stood, and approached the people. Who seemed like they wanted her most?
The little queen was even angrier- were these idiots making fun of her?! Screeching in rage, she launched herself at Rielana, smacking her with her golden tail. That would teach her to laugh at her! Zadari was her next victim- with her baby wings, she raised herself up and bit the woman's arm with pure anger. However, biting the woman just reminded her of the food she was hungering for. Her squeaks of rage turning into pleads, she let out a muffled creel, swinging from Zadari's arm by her teeth. Wouldn't Zadari just stop laughing and feed her?
As those antics occured, another egg broke open, smashing itself against its neighbor. From this impact, the Hypothermic Egg managed to crack open the Glacial Egg, causing both flitters to spill into the sands- and both greens. The Hypothermic green screeched in irritation- she had hit her precious, dark metallic-green head against the stupid Glacial green's bony foreleg! The Glacial green scolded the Hypothermic for blaming her. It was the Hypothermic's fault! This made the Hypothermic angry- she leapt onto the Glacial, wielding her sharp claws. Soon, both were fighting, tooth and claw, against each other.
The lazy blue watched the fight with amusement. How funny! Despite this, he was hungry. Giving one last squeak of encouragement, the blue wandered over to Alene, crooning innocently, but already thinking of the little tricks he had up his sleeve for this girl to deal with.

At least Silt had the presence of mind to greet his little brother with a welcoming chirp. So much for just watching. Alene bent down and picked the little blue up, the lizard oddly calm, even though his eyes whirled red/orange with hunger. 'Guess you have a friend, Silt," she said absently. The flitt reminded her of twilight with his dark blue hide that gleamed somewhat in the light as she carried him to get food. The blue however, didn't seem to like being carried very much and flew from her arms instead, landing head first in a bowl of meat. He squawked in dismay, the red stuff not being what he thought. But it smelled good.
Before he could gorge himself, Alene plucked him from the bowl, grabbed a towel, and wrapped him in it before feeding him from her hand. "Sneaky one aren't you," she said lovingly. Silt took his time to walk down her arm and lay down in front of the small blue. He chirped a greeting, which was answered from a full mouth. "No talking with your mouth full, now," Alene said, a chuckle entering her voice. The little flitt glared at her with a very human expression on his face, but Alene would have sworn there was a tinge of mischeif is his now-slowing eyes.
"What should we call him, Silt?" she asked her brown. He looked over the towel-swathed blue, knowing how embaressed the blue was at his current situation, and cocked his head in thought. He sent a picture of a horizon just after sunset. "Twilight?" she asked. Silt shook his vehemently, chirping his disagreement. "Hmm. You're right. Too girly. Dusk?" This she directed this to the blue she held who now hummed in the pleasure that was his full stomach. "Dusk it is." Silt chirped in agreement. That was the name he tried to relay. Sometimes he wondered why his favorite seemed so dense at times.

Ciara glanced up from her watch of the angred Queen to see two newly Hatched greens. Quickly, Ciara pulled the two fighters apart and placed some meat before them. Before they could possibily bond, the young woman moved away. She did not want to force herself upon any of the Hatchlings even if she wanted one. Her gaze strayed to another Green, a smile on her lips as she watched her. She was a beauty, her teal green hide glistening with egg goo. Ciara approached the Hatchling, careful not to disturb her.

Looking down at what was causing the sharp pricks in her leg, Saraina raised an eyebrow at the royal blue flit. "Well now. It seems that you want to get in my lap." Scooting the little Blue's body up slightly so that he could climb into her lap upon his own accord. Somehow balancing the bowl of meat on one leg and the flit on the other, Sara rolled a piece of meat into a ball before stuffing it into the small males mouth, watching him chew it viciously. "I feel I'm going to have a bit of trouble with you... Now what to call you... Zor. How 'bout that?" Grinning as the young blue nodded and then scratched at the bowl, the young woman scratched him behind the eye ridges before continuing his feeding.

((ooc: is there a way you guys could use a bigger font size please? Its really hard to read.... )) R'ton and his Rontue watched the others hatch, Rontue chirpping a bit in fear at his Golden Sisters antics. She obviously didnt know how to pick someone like HE did. HE had his R'ton, and had been fed. He crooned lovingly and in rhythm as some dragons did when the other eggs started to hatch. Maybe they could get one of his siblings to come over? Yes, R'ton would like that, he could feel it. He "sang" in that encouraging rumble to see if maybe just maybe, he could help R'ton. R'ton looked down at the crook of his arm, seeing his ever so sleepy Cerulean Blue ((which is my FAVORITE COLOR irl )) fire lizard crooning. "Are you helping me little brother?" His smile widdened, what a great little creature. So full of Love and Compassion already. Using his own feelings he tried to amplify the feeling, pushing it towards the little ones, meat chunks in both hands. he tried to imitate the crooning purr that his Rontue was doing to maybe help encourage any who wanted to come to him and his little blue. He looked around the circle and watched all the others, he still felt a bit like an outsider, and wondered if there was maybe a little flitt that felt the same. He would love to expand his draconic family. Rodonth grumbled in agreement with that.

((OMG stuff happened when I was banned for a day!))
Mari watched as egg after egg hatched and Impressed themselves to their new owners. It was really something. Tami hiccuped in her sleep and shifted in her "mother's" arms. Mari couldn't help but smile, the little thing really was darling wasn't it? As if she heard her adoptive parent's mental comment, Tami flipped over onto her belly and let out a rather high pitched whistle as the air escaped her nose.
Mari chuckled. In that moment the drudge returned with more meat. Which Mari organized till it was to her satisfaction. A bunch of smaller bowls had been brought, so that the Imressees need not carry their offerings in their hands. And another large bowl of scraps and gristle from the nights meal was added next to the other largely depleted one. Satisfied with the set up, Mari watched over the younger people Impressing flits, her heart light and her mind clear for the first time in days.

Rielana's laughter was cut short a bit by teh slap of the tail, though very soon she was laughing once more, once Zadari's yelp of pain reached her ears. Oh that was amusing. The little gold seemed determined now, even if Zadari hadn't wanted a gold.
Zadari's yelp of pain alerted Sitath and the blue made an unhappy sound as he felt His' pain. Zadari hurriedly calmed him, reaching over to get the gold up onto her arm, tapping her nose with a frown, the gold let go of her arm with a squeak. Unsure what she had done wrong, blinking at Hers. The minute that first piece of meat was in her mouth, well... Zadari couldn't have wished for a more affectionate flitt. Not with the way she was cuddling into her. Even so, Zadari rubbed ehr arm. "Tirea, that hurt! And yes, your name is Tirea." A kiss to her head. Sitath's excitement over came his anger, crooning loudly as he did so.

The greens hissed as they were pulled apart by some meddling girl, and they went straight back to where they started. However, the Hypothermic managed to cut a slice in the thin wing membrane belonging to the Glacial green, the Glacial screeched in agony. Satisfied, the Hypothermic managed to pick herself up into the air, bugling in triumph as she flew to Covera.
The bronze, though, was irritated once he got those stupid egg pieces off of himself. Scolding the Hypothermic, he looked back up at the crowd with indifference. No one here was absolutely amazing. Perhaps it would be better if he went off to be wild... As he pondered this, the Glacial kept screeching, running toward the first person she saw- Partol. She wanted something to make her wing better, then she could go kill that stupid other green!
The bronze clicked in disapproval, but he turned back to the clutch as he sensed another clutchmate hatching. The Permafrost Egg slowly split, the cracks spreading diagonally across the egg in a straight line. With a deft kick, one side fell away, revealing a blue of a marvelous turquoise shade with a look of sheer pride. The bronze trumpeted a formal welcoming call, which the blue returned with a soft croon.
That settled, the bronze lifted himself up, making to fly right out the door with smug satisfaction. Unfortunately, as he turned to give a last glance to the rest of the clutch, he flew headlong into Marisina. Squeaking in alarm, he dropped, then emitted a loud creel. He was too hungry to try flying out all over again- it took a lot of energy to get up, you know! Giving Mari a pitiful stare, he flailed a little, as if trying to make her pick him up.
The last two eggs erupted simultaneously, the shards flying like fireworks in quick succession. The first, the Frosted Egg, revealed a green flitter who appeared oddly similar the outside of a watermelon, with stripes and dots of a dark and light green. She looked around in bewilderment, surprised by how many people there were. The Sublimation Egg, on the other hand, bore a brown flitter who stepped out of the shards rather sleepily, not really paying attention to his surroundings. Chirping boredly, he sat on the ground and yawned.
The Subzero green chirruped happily, her mind made up. Pulling herself over to Ciara, she crooned lovingly, opening up her wings to let the girl pick her up. She had food, yes? That's good- she really would love to have some food...

R'ton focused his attention to the little brown that had popped out of the Sublimation Egg, He sure was a nice looking fella. He chuckled lovingly at the yawn and laid a piece of meat in front of him, trying to lure the little one to him. He set another piece a little bit closer to himself for when he finished the first. Rontue watched with rapt interest at his brown brother and crooned a hello to him. If he wanted, he could share the warm neck of His?

As Covera was about to leave the room with the newly hatched Erro on her arm when she saw a fight between two greens. Thinking that she ought to do something she stepped forward but another person had reached them first and pulled the greens apart. Erro rapped her arm impatiently as if saying: I'm hatched and fed, can we go now? Patting her bronze affectionately Covera turned her back to the clutch. Suddenly Erro squealed and Covera sighed impatiently. "Yes, yes, we're going Erro! Be patient," she told him and was about to continue when the bronze dug his claw into Covera's arm. As Covera winced she noticed a green flitter in the air, on the same level as Covera's waist. The green looked up and Covera gasped. Uncharacteristically Covera had been content with what she had but now another Fire Lizard wanted her! Erro chirped and looked at her in a I-told-you-about-her-but-you-wouldn't-listen way. "There was no need to dig your claw into my arm to get my attention," Covera murmured and watched a drop of blood seep through the sleeve on her green dress. Realizing that she should probably feed the green one, Covera hurriedly fetched some meat and held the green while feeding him. Erro had now moved himself to sit on Covera's shoulder. When the green had finally finished eating Covera left with her two new flitters; Erro and Svava.

"Zephyr?"
Lauranna had been absorbed in her perfect little green, but now that same flitter had straightened, glancing back at where the other firelizards were still hatching. She cocked her head and chirped. "No, Zephyr. Aren't you hungry?" The flitter was, of course, but not too horribly hungry, and the angry screechings of the two green firelizards made her curious. Before Lauranna could do anything to stop her, the small creature launched herself into the air, dipping quickly at first before she levelled out. See? She'd be fine.
Happily, the little green flitted around the press of people, but it seemed as if the fight was more or less over once she got there. How disappointing. She had wanted to see what all of the fuss was about! And oh, now she was tired. All that flying really was exhausting. Zephyr landed near the brown flitter, contenting herself to circle around him, chirping in inquiry. Why didn't he move? It was dangerous down here, with all the people milling around, trying to take care of Zephyr's noisy cousins. She let out a mewling cry, then, wanting her Mine and far too tired to attempt the flight back.
Lauranna heaved a sigh, making her way through the press as best she could. "Whatever am I to do with you, Zephyr? Not a minute old and you're already causing trouble." Zephyr looked up at the pregnant woman. She was sorry, really she was! But it had seemed so interesting over here...Lauranna chuckled as she shook her head, extending a hand for her green to hop up on. "Be a little easier on a pregnant woman, kay?"

Those poor little green flitters! Partol's heart went out to them, but he was far too scared to do anything to actually try and separate the two that were fighting. Who had started it? It was hard to tell. Someone tried to move the two apart, but not before one of the fire lizards had made a slash at the fragile wing membrane of the other. Oh no! What if that green went /between/ with her pain? That would be such a horrible thing to happen at this joyous event. Partol could hardly stand to watch, eventually looking away, eyes locked resolutely on a point far in the distance, away from the commotion.
Screeching disrupted Partol's looking away, bringing him back to the Hatching. He looked down, surprised beyond all belief. The same little green with the injured wing was now making noise at him, as if she was expecting him to do something about it. "You don't want me little one." The fire lizard didn't seem to agree, launching herself onto Partol's leg and climbing up until she sat on his shoulder, muscles trembling from the effort it had cost her. If her wing wasn't hurt, she would have flown up there and shown Partol who was in charge in this relationship. Instead, she crooned meekly, trying to evoke his sympathy. It worked, for Partol carefully disengaged the green, looking at the rip in her wings. It wasn't very large, and there was almost no ichor dripping from it. She might need numbweed on it later, but for now a more pressing need overtook his mind. Food. She was hungry. She needed food, craved it. If she didn't get food soon, she would curl up and die.
Flustered by his fire lizard's demands, Partol shoved the first piece of meat he held into her open maw. It managed to silence the flitter for just a few moments, as she struggled to chew and tear at the meat fully. Once that piece was gone (very quickly indeed), she demanded more, mouth open as she struggled in Partol's arms. It seemed like he couldn't feed her fast enough. Many minutes passed this way, with him stuffing food in the wide open mouth, before the flitter decided that she was full, and fell asleep almost instantly. Her little belly was distended, dark color absorbing the light. It was time to give her a name, a process that Partol went through slowly and with obvious patience. It was important to give his little girl the perfect name. It had to fit her in every way, but it was hard to see what her personality would be when she was this young. This savagery exhibited at her Hatching could fade, could stay. Certainly she wouldn't be this insistent about food later on. Finally, Partol was able to decide on a suitable name. "Naima", he said as he stroked her carefully. "Your name is Naima."

Ciara was startled when the Subzero Green came in her direction. Gently picking up the small teal-green flitter, Ciara began to feed the starving lizard. After what seemed like pounds of fresh meat, the young Green Flitter gave a little burp before falling asleep. The young candidate cautiously scratched her companion's eye ridge. "I think I'll name you Eryn." Ciara held the precious bundle close to her, careful not to wake Eryn up. Her gaze traveled to the rest of the Hatchlings. Not all had impressed so Ciara would wait. She hated when they turned cannable. It was a hideous thing at such a wonderful event.

Mari picked up the second Flit to search her out for help in the day. Surprised by the little bronzes choice she quickly scooped him up with her other hand. Carefully using her Tami covered hand to feed him. She cuddled the little bronze, crooning sweet nothings to him.
"Oh you're such a cutie. Yes you are. Yes you are." she said in her "grandmother voice". It used to be her mother voice till she had her first grandchild. The flit gave her a look like "And just who do you think you're talking to?" as if she were slightly deranged. But accepted the meat happily.

Saraina kept to herself as she silently fed the royal blue flit that had nested himself into the crook of her arm. Rolling the last piece of meat that the little male would accept, the young candidate scratched behind Zor's eyeridges as he let out a weighty yawn. Carefully standing to relieve the ache that had built up in her knees, Sara stretched while keeping the arm with her sleeping flit as still as possible. "What am I to do with you? The cooks will hate me after you stop relying on me for food." Giving off a large sigh, the young woman cracked her neck and continued to watch the flits that still needed homes. Grey-green eyes skipped from the green flitter to the brown and then to the blue, each of them had a different expression on their face... Crouching down to retrieve the bowl of meat she had left on the blistering sands, Sara allowed herself to take her eyes off the clutch.
