The Sunset Brown yawned sleepily--and uninterestedly--at the gathered people. He gathered his body, wiggled his rump much like a feline, and leapt up, wet wings fanning the air as he landed unsteadily on the wall next to his blue brother. The two chatted verbally at each other for a moment, then dashed off along the wall at about-shoulder height, vanishing further into the stables. It looked as if they had gone wild...
That left no salamandyrs Hatched, but that quickly changed as the Nighthawk Egg broke open to reveal... a black hide? The creature slithered out of the ruins of her egg, blinking slowly at the assembled group. In the shadows, no hint of color could be seen at all on the salamandyr's hide... was it some sort of mutation? The Nighthawk Black moved forward, then dashed horizontally, sliding up onto the wall and turning the corner in a blur, before launching into the air, wings beating frantically. It wasn't until the 'mandyr fought her was through a beam of light that the green sheen of her hide could be seen. She was, in the end, only a very very dark green... MINE! she shrieked at T'nmor, plopping onto his shoulder. Mine, she purred again, calming down now that she had what was rightfully hers.
While the Nighthawk Green made her desicion, the Aurora Borealis Egg had gone crazy, wiggling about, banging into eggs, setting both the Flamefly Egg and the Watchful Eyes Egg to shaking madly. At the same time, the Aurora Borealis Egg and the Flamefly Egg crashed into two other eggs--the Darkness Egg and the Howler's Cry Egg. Both the eggs caved in, and the Howler's Cry Egg began to twitch painfully as a reddish-brown clawed his way from the Flamefly Egg, high-pitched voice grating on the edge of hearing.
The Aurora Borealis Egg and the Darkness Egg came together in another sickening crunch, the puny Darkness Egg dwarfed by the Aurora Borealis Egg, which rolled back, cracking the crown against the Watchful Eyes Egg. The movement ripped off the top of the Darkness Egg to reveal a salamandyr which was the complete opposite of its egg. White gusher to black hole, the 'mandyr which uncurled from the Darkness Egg was completely flat white, without a trace of another color on his perfect hide. Entirely nonplussed, the tiny creature snaked around the roiling mass of eggs, avoiding shards as the Watchful Eyes Egg shattered to reveal a green.
As the Watchful Green hissed angrily in place, the Darkness White leapt from the ledge, narrow wings unfurling and holding his tiny body aloft in the slight sussurus of air, almost floating in place. He settled down gently on a hand--Savitri's hand. An image of the meat he could smell flowed into her mind as brilliant rainbows filled the miniscule creature's large eyes, with the sense of a query. The white had chosen.
But the drama was certainly not over! From the Aurora Borealis Egg came a shockingly blue creature, which immediately set to flying at his green sister and gnawing on her. A blow to the head from furious claws carved open the side of his face, and the 'mandyr rolled backwards, true shock showing on all his features. He'd only been tasting her! The 'mandyr kept rolling, apparently on purpose, and rolled right off of the ledge with a surprised squawk, somehow managing to right himself before smacking his fat body onto the ground. CARROT QUICKAL KALROT QUIRRAL! he pronounced with the air of a cursing sailor, directly into K'nam's mind. Carrckal? he asked more deferentially, scurring over to K'nam's food and promptly sitting on the toe. Quirrot?
Nighthawk Green: Impressed to: T’nmor (Irbre) Color Code: 003300 Appearance: Stunning dark green, this salamandyr is almost black. In fact, she truly looks more like a black creature with green highlights, as if the shadows of the jungle had come to life and scurried out in the form of a salamandyr. Paler markings, hardly visible, streak her body almost like the “feathers” which covered her shell, making her almost shimmer as she moves. Lithe and flexible, this girl is quite elegant, with long-spined frills and narrow, long wings which make her surprisingly maneuverable for a ‘mandyr, though she has incredibly low air endurance even for a salamandyr. Even her eyes seem dark-toned, the colors all muted blacker and a bit muddy, though this could be a result of her laid-back personality. Personality: Gentle and quiet, this creature can be surprisingly decisive at times—mostly when she wants someone or something. Unafraid to label things as her (or others’) pets, this green has a strict mental ranking, and won’t deign to speak to anything below her (or refer to herself in other than the third person). However, she’ll do it quite politely and nicely; getting this green angry would take an incredible feat. Very laid-back, this ‘mandyr seems unwilling to display temperament of any kind—except, of course, hauteur. Interestingly enough, this green is one of the ones which prefers other greens to males, and will spend much of her time with others of her own color.
Darkness White: Impressed to: Savitri (Kysseh) Appearance: There is no question what color this salamandyr is. Pure, flat white and incredibly small—perhaps four inches long—he is undeniably white. Over-large eyes are a bit bulgy, but the tiny cuteness of his body and whippy tail make up for his creepy gaze. Slow moving, this white loves to wedge his body into the tiniest of crevasses, impossible to pry him out of without doing serious harm. It won’t be unusual to lose him for a few days, only the stream of image-chatter assuring his minething that he is, indeed, still alive. His wings are large enough that he can fly for long amounts of time, so long as he has a headwind, snaking through the air much like a mythical wyvern. Personality: Entirely mute, this white can’t properly be called chatty. However, he sends a constant stream of images into his minething’s head, unceasing, even in sleep. His little ‘mandyr dreams will flow just as easily as his image-chatter, but they don’t give much insight into his personality. Changeable as the ocean, this salamandyr is impossible to predict, one moment quiet and sleepy, the next raging and vengeful. Perhaps the only constancy in his personality is his adoration and devotion to His and his obsession with spying. Given time, this white can root out any secret—providing that you manage to keep him interested in the task for long enough!
Aurora Borealis Blue: Impressed to: K’nam (Randeh) Color code: 00FFFF Appearance: Vividly electric blue, this salamandyr is eye-shockingly bright, almost enough to leave an after-image on the retina. Fat and squat, his pitifully tiny wings can’t even begin to support his round body in the air, no matter how much he flaps them—which is a lot. His tongue is usually poking out of his mouth just a little, as if he bites the tip constantly, and a rather crazed look usually fills his usually-yellow eyes. Impossible to lose and certain to cause trouble, no matter how much he scampers around (which is quite a lot), this blue salamandyr will always be a round little creature, and large for his color—almost the size of a brown! Personality: Diagnosis: terminally insane. It’s really the only way to understand this rather crazy salamandyr. Nothing he says will ever make sense, and he learns (and unlearns) words in record time. Never will he have more than three in his repertoire, and they will come and go like fickle lovers. But this blue doesn’t seem to notice the difference, combining and recombining his current words in odd patterns, even making up new words using the old ones. Of course, this will eventually lead to him only remembering his conglomerates, rather than any true words. Prone to running around like an idiot as well as eating everything (especially anything green, which makes life interesting when he gnaws on dragons), this blue might come to an untimely end if his owner isn’t good at getting him out of trouble.
Dawn Sisters Egg: Unmoving Midnight Egg: WILD: blue Howler’s Cry Egg: Half-smashed, twitching Nighthawk Egg: IMPRESSED: T’nmor Twin Moon Egg: Unmoving Sunset Egg: WILD: brown Wildcat Egg: Moving faintly Starry Egg: IMPRESSED: Raen Witching Hour Egg: IMPRESSED: Darya First Ray of Rukbat Egg: Unmoving Darkness Egg: IMPRESSED: Savitri Aurora Borealis Egg: IMPRESSED: K’nam Red Star Egg: IMPRESSED: C’lryn Flamefly Egg: HATCHED: brown Adith’s Egg, or Night Sky Egg: IMPRESSED: Kalushka Watchful Eyes Egg: HATCHED: green Constellation Egg: Unmoving

Liassa watched as the two brothers communicated, hoping that they would talk then turn to the candidates to choose. Instead, they both flew off, shakingly going between. She almost let out a small groan of disappointment, every Impression and salamandyr that chose the wild, her chances of attaching a beauty of her own were grossly reduced. She would be very disappointed if she didn’t Impress, but at least she would have tried.
An interesting black salamandyr hatched next, catching Liassa’s attention. He was a beauty and fast too. Wait, no, he was a green! The edge of light caught the edge of her tail, showing the green sheen on her. My, she was a beauty, but another one that wasn’t for her. Liassa flashed T’nmor a grin, happy for him. She couldn’t begrudge anyone if they Impressed, even if she still wished that one of the ‘mandyrs would look in her direction.
She watched the eggs as they bumped and clashed, wincing at the noises and in fear that one of the creatures inside the eggs would be injured. The voice of the first hatchling of the bunch was enough to make her wince again, but she’d already schooled her expressions, thinking of happier thoughts rather than the noise. She didn’t want to ward the salamandyrs off by emanating negative thoughts.
A flurry of hatchings followed, leaving Liassa still hoping as others Impressed. A small frown found her face, but only for a moment. The white was lovely, but obviously not for her and blue was beautiful as well, but he’d do much better with K’nam. There was still the noisy brown and the green. Maybe one of them wanted her. Or at least that’s what she was going to hope for. Watching them, she crossed her arms, still clutching the fish.

Squeaking slightly as the Salamandyr rolled into K'nam's leg, Kaegan eyed the little blue with weary interest. It was bright blue, almost as if a small amount of lighting had been captured in a jar and shaped into a little animal. Although the large blue didn't keep her interest for long and it was soon redirected back to the noisy clutch in front of her. The young 'mandyrs seemed to be running amok in the little stall in which they had been lain, still, it wasn't long before two of them escaped from their confines and scampered into the darkness. /Mine. Where are you?/ I'm in the stables Millieth... watching a Salamandyr hatching. Very interesting so far... /Just as long as you don't go bringing one of those nasties along with you./ Be nice. /They are worse than Firelizards. You know how I don't like them./
Making a noise in defeat, the Queenrider quietly resigned herself to thinking it wouldn't be her fault if one of these babies decided to choose her. Hiking up onto the tips of her toes, Kaegan leaned over the edge of the wall, crossing her arms and resting her head on top of them. She silently debated with herself which one of the eggs would hatch next...
---
It had been an interesting hatching so far, although, F'rah didn't know if this was the normal for Salamandyr hatchings... since he had never witnessed one first hand before. Three of the 'mandyrs had impressed to the people around him, one of those few being the other male in his trio. Cracking his neck slightly so that a small pop brought relief to the stiffness that had settled along his shoulders. From a Green, to a white, to a blue, the 'mandyrs quickly attached themselves to the humans. The impressions made him wonder what having a Salamandyr, or even a Firelizard, was like. All the little ones he has ever had were domestic felines and canines, including the two Felines that were resting comfortably in his cot right now.
How are the Cats? /They are fine Rahmine. The female has chided the male into playing with her. They are rather adorable creatures if you ask me.../ Chuckling slightly at what his dragon had to say, F'rah stopped only to yawn. He was here because Kaegan was here, as soon as she wanted to go, he would go also.

K'nam had watched the clutch with the same attention he gave to any Hatching, noting who Impressed what, as well as what eggs were soon to give up their precious cargo up to the world. Inevitably, the bronzerider had gotten caught in almost a whirl, sending his commentary to Bearinth who would reply with extreme interest. He noted with sadness as two of the males vanished beyond the stable, having fled rather than Impressed.
However, his interest was soon drawn to the white that Hatched, fascinated by a color he had never seen. As he sent this latest news to Bearinth, the bronze jokingly replied Snatch it and bring it here. I want to see! Though both males knew better than to grab any sort of hatchling unless it chose to acquaint itself with them.
His head jerked at a sudden commotion, his nerves humming as he saw the blindingly blue salamandyr dart from his shell, latching onto his green sister before gnawing. The rather fat salamandyr was sent rolling, the bulky creature continuing with the motion until he plopped atop his own foot.
At first, the string of random words made absolutely zero sense, the chattering almost insufferable until it dawned on K'nam that he had actually Impressed one of the little buggers. He had been here as an escort for Kaegan, not to take one of these creatures back to his weyr...
However, this didn't seem to stop the blue in the least. Lorat! Karrick! RICKALOTT! The blue remained perched where he was, looking towards someone with a bit of food with them, and, for the briefest moment, K'nam thought the blue was going to leave him, but no such luck emerged. Lota Kriat, the male insisted, chewing on K'nam's pantsleg before toppling off of his perch to stalk after a morsal that had fallen to the ground, pouncing on it before spotting one of his green siblings nearby. Clata...
K'nam moved from his spot to scoop up the troublemaker, moving back to Kaegan's side after stealing a small bit of food to keep the salamandyr from causing too much more trouble. He was forced to step away after the blue gained interest in Kaegan's hair, his grip tightening. Bearinth, we've got someone new.
The dragon's voice was full of laughter, He'll be fun, if a small bit annoying. K'nam nodded, tending to the creature, realizing that it would not name itself. With a small sigh, he ran through a list of names, arriving at a considerable lack of words to be a fair warning of the creature's nature.
One word seemed to stick to the creature as it flashed through K'nam's mind, SCAMP! Scampscamp. Pampca... "Scamp." Of course.
---
Oraru had been absorbed in the Hatching up until the point that he was forced to pay attention, stepping gingerly aside as a brown and blue fled past him. The salamandyrs seemed... interesting. As a fat blue rolled his way through, he felt a certain nervousness that the creature would head his way, though Breeze chirped assuringly that he was the only fat blue allowed in Oraru's life.
Though he did feel disapointed that none of the eggs had, thus far, been for him, he supposed he was content. It had been Breeze's idea for him to be up here after all, not his. If anything, him Impressing one would just anger Orask more, though he did have the slightest hope that maybe he would Impress something that could bring peace between the warring factions in his life, though he doubted that any such creature existed unless it could magically make his firelizard less selfish and his wher less imperious. He hadn't much hope for that savior.

Exceedingly glad he had been passed over by all of the strange little creatures, K'von relaxed, his face splitting into a wide grin as he watched more of the little salamandyrs choose their bondeds. There didn't seem to be a great deal of hesitation on the parts of the hatching salamandyrs, which surprised him. They seemed to know exactly which people they wanted. Maybe they just knew exactly what they wanted, like dragons. Who knew, though?
The bright blue one made him laugh, and he shook his head in unrestrained amusement at the clumsy fatness of it. Adorable... and so lacking in grace. It reminded him of Dohulth when the dragon had been learning to fly: all wing and no coordination.
Fiona's disappointment was magnified as the blue and the brown appeared to go wild, and she stifled a sigh, her shoulders drooping a bit. Well, there went two more opportunities. Shards. Well, if I don't get one, I can try again... she thought a bit glumly. Her mood took a sudden upturn as she saw more salamandyrs hatching and then Impressing nearly as rapidly. The little white was adorably graceful, and she stared for a moment, giggling at the expression on his new bonded's face before looking back at the clutch.
There was a green hatched, as well as a brown, and neither had chosen. I hope they don't go wild too.... she prayed silently, staring hopefully at the clutch, messy hair and slightly disarrayed clothes forgotten.
Though amused and slightly disappointed--she didn't know why--when the blue and brown went wild, Savitri was soon distracted by the rapid hatching of several more eggs. What she thought was a little black turned out to be a green, and it wasn't long before the little thing chose. The rapid destruction of several more eggs resulted in a flash of brightness, and she was shocked at the flat white color of the little creature that navigated through the clutch to. Her shock turned to mild fear as he made his way to the edge of the ledge and simply launched himself into a glide, and before fear could turn into understanding to allow her to move away, the little creature had settled himself on her hand.
Oh, no. No! Go to them! They /want/ you! she said firmly, giving her hand a light shake as if that would dissuade the little creature. Unfortunately, he--at least, she thought he was a 'he'--simply sunk his claws in and stared up at her with those gorgeous eyes. The slightly oversized eyes made him look like a pathetic puppy, though the air of a query in his body language and the image of meat inserted into her mind made her think of a ravenous young dragon. Oh dear. He wasn't going to get off. He was hers. This was not good. Maybe if she fed him, he would leave her alone. She glanced around for a for a bit of food to give him, the image being presented more rapidly with increasingly larger portions of meat into her mind.

Watching carefully, Rielana found herself more interested in the unhatched eggs than the salamandyr's themselves, the eggs were mysterious, she had no more way of knowing what was in them than she had a chance of knowing... Err, something. The Darkness Egg however, had her attention from the moment it spilt the tiny little white onto the sand. He, she, it was adorable! So tiny and delicate, Rielana's eyes were locked on the tiny creature, wondering at first if it would indeed be alright. After all, it was so small, what if something bad happened? What if someone stepped on it?
Much as she would have liked to make certain it would be okay, it would choose soon enough and then it would have a Mine. Glancing away from the white, Rielana forced herself to pay attention to each salamandyr Impressing, hope dimming just a little, it really didn't matter, she did have Fiel and Jeminorth, some people didn't even have that, and there were only six left either unhatched or unImpressed.
Eyes fell on the partially smashed egg, her eyes growing wide, how had she missed that? And it was only twitching! What had happened? Surely Dael wouldn't let someone step on it, and was the little creature inside alright? Why wouldn't it hatch? All the eggs would hatch into nice, healthy little babies, they had to. You know that's not how it works. Jeminorth spoke softly to Hers, sending reassurance down their bond from their weyr.
Yes, she knew that, but that didn't stop her hoping they would all be fine. Rielana gflanced up, almost hoping to see a face she knew well that she could talk to, not that she blamed some of her fellow weyrlings if they stayed away, dragons were handfuls, and some were possessive. Jeminorth wasn't. Jeminorth was quite happy to share.

‘Oh, those two have gone.’ Odian sighed as the midnight blue and sunset brown disappeared into the shadows. ‘I guess they’re are the first wild salamandyrs.’ He commented, seeming to find it essential to commentate every moment of the hatching to Jarathon, in case the younger, shorter boy missed something.
‘Unless any of the greens have mated and laid eggs.’ Jarathon said. ‘If they hatched they’d probably be wild, though salamandyr greens might be as silly as firelizard greens about their eggs.’
‘Well Wraith hasn’t and there’s only one other green salamandyr from the last clutch.’ Odian argued stubbornly as another few hatchlings split their shells. ‘Wow that one looks really odd.’ Odian indicated the hatchling from the darkness egg, it was very small and seemed to be white with no flash of blue or green to give a clue to its gender.
‘It surely is.’ Jarathon answered, slightly distracted by Wraith’s incoherent babble-greetings to the hatchlings, or maybe that was another commentary. Jarathon wondered about that odd hatchling but not too much, it was probably one of a kind.
‘Drama on the ledge.’ Odian stated in an amused tone as a blue hatchling tried to bite one of his green clutchmates and ended up getting quite a bit of payback.

Raen watched the scene unfold before her rarely, normally keeping her eyes on the pretty green Shirk, who had not moved herself after devouring the pieces of meat (of all sorts) that her new bonded had provided her. In fact, now the little 'mandyr was asleep, curled up prettily in the candidate's lap. It only made the girl smile more at Shirk's oblivious nature, to not even twitch with her bond staring at her intently, as if measuring her up. However, Raen was doing nothing of the sort. She was quite satisfied with the lovely, lazy salamandyr, and was instead watching her only to wonder why the beauty had chosen her.
If the last four minutes were of any count, it had been that Raen was closest.
Although quite captivated by her own 'mandyr, anyone would look up at a flash of black hide. Raen looked up just in time to see not only a black salamandyr, but also a... white? But wait, now, that 'black' was a green. You couldn't really tell, though, except for the dark, dark green sheen. The girl looked at the dark-hided creature for a moment to see it Impress before turning her attention momentarily towards the Darkness White. This was a mutation, a white, there was no doubt about it. The thing was small, but most definitely a salamandyr, and it Impressed swiftly.
At this point, Raen had to see what was going to happen with the other 'mandyrs, at least those on the Sands now. The Aurora Borealis Egg revealed a lovely blue creature, which darted over towards its own bonded. This left Raen to watch at the Firefly Brown and the Watchful Eyes Green, her hand stroking green hide even as her eyes focused on the two creatures. They were lovely, but neither had the air of her Shirk.

Coralt watched the hatching, sitting to the back a bit. He wanted to Impress even more as he watched the Impressions around him. The happiness and flurry of emotions that covered each of their faces seemed rather priceless. He knew that his chances at attaching a salamandyr of his own was quickly dwindling, but he knew the experience was worth it anyway. He hadn't witnessed Impression before this point and it looked like it was even better than he thought it would be. And it was only a salamandyr hatching! He couldn't imagine what it'd be like when people actually began to share their minds with a dragon! He decided that it had to be an awestriking event and he began to hope that he would at least get to experience that even more than before.
He was transfixed by the black's coloring, amazed by the different little 'mandyr, and almost missed the green coloring that revealed itself in the sun. Coralt was disappointed when the interesting female chose another, but he still maintained hope, looking at the other unhatched eggs. More salamandyrs made their decision, but the candidate still kept the back, waiting. If one of the little ones wanted him, they could come to the back. He wanted to Impress, who wouldn't? But he was mainly here to watch. Learning about what he was going to do before he did it was his style. He didn't like to just jump in, though he did when it was required of him.

((posting for Neeuq. I'll send you a basic desc. and copy it over to Neeuq, and she'll write them and get them to you when she gets a chance.))
The twitching Howler's Cry Egg moved weakly, almost as though it was losing energy with each spasmodic shudder. Little by little, the shards on its surface began to drop off, but with it dripped an odd green liquid-- ichor. Whatever was inside this egg was clearly hurt, but it didn't stop its progress. In fact, the egg rocked harder and hard when it seemed to notice that it was bleeding. Yet its diligence seemed to do the trick; the rest of the egg fell away from the creature inside, revealing a dark green 'mandyr with a gash on her side. She whistled as she took a tentative step forward, the pain of it seeming to anger the green. How dare she be hurt at her hatching?! Looking around for the culprit, she growled at Scamp and the Flamefly Brown, and her frills expanded threateningly. She would ruin their lives, of course. She would haunt them in their sleep, and make them be sorry for ever crashing her egg open! But for now, she needed to be fixed up. Limping over to Aryna, she crooned sweetly, hiding her anger for the sake of charming this nice lady. Lobiglumpinushmins, she announced politely, nudging Aryna's foot. Please? she managed to ask.
The Flamefly Brown, looking aggrieved at the green who was apparently blaming him for her ungraceful hatching. Like it was his fault! It was all that blue's fault. Grumbling to himself, the red-brown salamandyr pulled himself over toward the crowd. Then, suddenly, he let out an ear-splitting shriek, causing several people to cover their ears. The brown grunted in satisfaction. He liked to make noise, he decided with pleasure. But these people... he wasn't sure if he liked them. He glared at them all disapprovingly. If he wasn't so hungry, he would just leave into the jungle! But he was much too hungry for that. Grumbling, he looked up at the people. Nonono never yellow, he muttered to himself, loud enough for everyone to hear. Looking up at the people, he tapped Coralt gently on the foot. No yellow, he stated firmly, then opened his mouth, awaiting for the boy to drop food into his mouth.
The Wildcat Egg and the Constellation Egg seemed to rock in unison, both moving left, then right, at the same time. Like metronomes, they kept a steady beat... Until they were interrupted by the Twin Moons Egg. It broke through that beat like an intense, if failed, tempo change. This busted all three eggs open, sending three squalling flitters to the ground. One was a green, one a blue, and the other a brown. The Wildcat Green immediately knew to not stand for such nonsense. Spitting her complaints at her clutchbrothers, she straightened up and skittered out the door. She was fast, and far too quick for capture. She would catch her own food. Another wild.
The Constellation Brown looked around, confused. It's steady beat had been disturbed, and he simply was at a loss for what to do next. The Twin Moons Blue blinked, equally confused. Its light blue-gray hide glimmered with egg fluid as he stepped forward into the light. The Constellation Brown cocked his chocolate-brown head, turning to admire the remaining eggs. Tasty... But something else distracted him. Looking back at the people he chattered excitedly, darting through the crowd. Someone nice was there! Tackling Kaegan's ankle, he announced, Purfriggidity gavinormol BEAUTIFUL! He flicked his tail with a flourish, and proceeding to wrap Kaegan's ankle with it. His was here!

Coralt felt a wave of pity as the little green dripped ichor onto the hatching area. The poor little one needed help. The way that she glared at the brown and the blue was unmistakable. Those little salamandyrs would be in trouble once she regained full movement and strength. He bit back a laugh. He almost felt sorry for the males now. A vindictive female was nothing to sneer at. She would get her revenge and it would not be pleasant.
The blue didn’t seem to notice, but the brown seemed very aware that he was the source of the green’s anger. When he began to wander, Coralt resisted the urge to bend down and offer up the dried wherry he’d grabbed. He didn’t think that that was allowed. The loud shriek made him shake his head, making him wonder if the green was right in her distaste for the little one. He wasn’t too fond of the salamandyr thus far either. His chatter was annoying and pointless. He thought that browns were supposed to make at least a little sense.
But then an interesting emotion covered him. He bent down, apparently the brown had Chosen him. He grinned widely, despite his previous negative feelings for the little one. No yellow! the little salamandyr insisted again, beginning to crawl up his leg. He was hungry and he Chose a human so the he could get fed, not so that he could be grinned at. Hunger was not satisfied by smiles.
Coralt seemed to catch the brown’s sentiment, offering up the food. It was snapped up and then another loud shriek ran through the ‘mandyr. Apparently a strip of meat wasn’t nearly enough. The candidate just laughed and dug into his pocket and produced four or five strips. Calmly, he continued to feed the little one, quieting the noises. “I think I’ll call you Screech,” he informed the brown, earning himself a bout of chatter about the necessity of the lack of yellow before he went back to his food. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

Odian hopped backwards as a green Salamandyr shot past his feet, causing Jarathon to laugh. ‘Looks like another wild one.’ Jarathon commented, amusement in his hound brown eyes. ‘Will all Pern be covered with green ‘mandyrs someday?’
Odian chuckled. ‘I guess we’ll find out someday, if green salamandyrs clutch that is.’ As soon as he passed that comment Odian’s eyes flicked back to the eggs, all two of them, the little salamandyrs seemed to hatching and Impressing, or going wild, very quickly indeed. ‘There’s not many left, was it this fast last time?’ Odian tried hard not to whine.
Jarathon shrugged. ‘Don’t know. Was out in the jungle, never heard Adith call, only came back because I fell in a puddle. Dashed over just in time to have Wraith run up my leg and into my undershorts.’ He answered honestly. Odian was kind enough not to laugh.

T’nmor watched the Hatching intently, his blue eyes fixed almost unblinkingly on the eggs. It was like the salamandyr Hatching from before, when he had watched the small creatures break free of their shells, though he had of course been bereft of both Jedirth and Cannibal at that moment. Cannibal had been the result of the prior Hatching, for the brown ‘mandyr had broken free of his shell and promptly decided to eat one of his siblings tails, which the other had dropped. Perhaps the fact that Cannibal had chosen to devour a dropped tail instead of eating one that had still been attached, but T’nmor had found it a bit unnerving nonetheless. Luckily for him, Cannibal had chosen not to live up to his name after that particular incident, much to T’nmor’s lasting relief.
He turned his gaze abruptly back to the Hatching, watching as the Nighthawk Egg broke open, spilling forth a…black salamandyr? T’nmor frowned, leaning forward while Cannibal chirped disinterestedly as he watched the still-hatching eggs. T’nmor’s gaze followed the tiny creature up the wall, his curiosity assuaged when a beam of light fell upon the ‘mandyr, illuminating a distinctive green tinge. The little Nighthawk Green launched herself away from the wall, wings fluttering wildly as she lunged directly at T’nmor, latching onto him. MINE! she shrieked, the loud call dying to a subtle purr of ownership with another ‘Mine.’
Blinking in surprise, T’nmor reached up to gently stroke her, running a finger along her tiny, near-black body. Looking closer, he could see feather-esque markings in green, which obviously meant that she would live up to the name of her egg. The green salamandyr stared up at him with placid, dark eyes, arching her elegant body gently. Mine, she purred again, ignoring Cannibal, who was chiding her for taking His. The body wormed his way down, staring defiantly at the green for a moment. T’nmor frowned, putting a restraintive hand on both the ‘mandyrs. “Hush now, Cannibal. Be nice to your sister.” He glanced back at the green, names already whirling through his head in an attempt to come up with a name for the pretty little thing.

Purfriggidity gavinormol BEAUTIFUL! The pressure around her ankle alerted her to the large brown before the voice in her head did. Startled by the unfamiliar voice, Kaegan jumped a foot or so in the air before pressing a hand to her breast and taking a breath. Widdaoogle farrr... Dropping her gaze down to the 'mandyr that had attached himself to her ankle, the Werywoman cocked her head to the side before smiling slightly. Bending over at the waist, Kaegan offered her hand to the young male, wincing as he scrambled up to her bandaged arm before curling around her wrist. Prettypretty. FOODFOOD. "Okayokay... now where is it?" Shifting her attention to the hunt for food, it took her only a few moments to locate some extra morsels, and it took about three times less time for the Brown to gobble down all of them. Beautifulbeeaaaattuuufuulll. "Goodness. You are fast..."
Letting her smile spread into a grin, Kaegan glanced about before leaning against the wall. By Farnath this young one is so fast... FastfashmashDashDASHDASHDASH. "Calm down little one." Chuckling slightly, the Goldrider stroked the Brown before turning to K'nam and F'rah happily. "Look. His name is Dash." Cradling the Salamandyr in the crook of her arm, Kaegan chuckled as he attached himself to her sleeve with a gurgle like purr. Beautiful erihngakal.

The Watchful Eyes Green had had enough of this nonsense. Growling angrily at everyone around her (and still extremely irritated that the stupid white had stolen her spotlight), she hissed at everyone. Her frills flared angrily, and she darted among feet, biting Cezine's foot quickly before high-tailing it out the door. These stupid humans didn't want her? Well, she knew how to fend for herself! It was disappointing for the people to realize that another 'mandyr had gone wild, but they were soon hopeful at the idea that there was still a blue one and two eggs. The Twin Moons Blue crooned, thrilled to be the only one hatched at the moment. So he took his time wandering among the people, deciding who was the best. No, this one was too smelly. No, this one looked too weird... So many decisions! The blue grumbled irritably. Wasn't there anyone who would be the perfect match for him? Well, he could always join his green sister, he supposed...
As the blue wandered about, the cracking First Ray of Rukbat Egg split solidly in two, and the triumphant screech of a salamandyr was heard from within. Then, the screech rose in pitch and took a cackling ring to it. Pushing away the shards was a blinding electric blue 'mandyr, with two rows of large, cyan colored spots on his back. Letting out another cackling sound, he looked over at his lingering blue brother. His frills rose, and he bared his teeth in a wicked rendition of a smile. Launching up, he tackled his brother to the ground, cackling all the way. The Twin Moons Blue screeched his protest as the other blue's claws raked his back. Ichor swelled in gashes along the bright red spots on his back. The older blue let out a wail, then chomped into the other's leg. Both salamandyrs, at this point, quit. The First Ray of Rukbat Blue, seemingly excited, darted over to Rielana, his bright leg dripping ichor. Look look, Ma! Look! he announced proudly as he displayed his battle wound. The other blue, on the other hand, hobbled over to E'ri sadly. Neh? he begged, in pain from the surprise attack. His tail fell off dramatically, the surprise of the attack making him scared enough to lose his tail.
The Dawn Sisters Egg was the last that remained. It rocked back and forth almost sleepily, in a bored way. It definitely wasn't in trouble, but it was just being lazy. But when the cracks did begin to appear, it became more serious about hatching, with more insistent rocking. Brown hide soon became visible underneath the shell, so it was no surprise when a rather fat, dusty brown with acid green spots pushed its way out. It looked up at the world sleepily, chirping irritably before toddling forward, looking around expectantly. What, these people weren't going to approach him? He had to find them himself! How absurd! Well, he would have none of this! Plopping down on his large butt, he whistled impatiently. Locking eyes with Liassa, he promptly said, Eat?
