Bite? The silent inquiry was sent to Minoath, C’lryn’s tone puzzled even as he watched the green skitter about on the walls. Salamandyrs were certainly odd little creatures, but beautiful nonetheless. She was certainly /green/!
I said nothing, Mine. The bronze held a hint of amusement in his tone, and if C’lryn had seen him just then, he’d have sworn that Minoath was laughing hysterically inside. He must have known what was coming, for, while C’lryn was distracted wondering what was so funny, the little green darted up his leg and torso to chomp down on his ear. This, along with her rather loud demand for food, drew a yelp from bronze weyrling. It was a sound that drew several snickers and guffaws from around the room, although maybe that was just the sight of the hatchling dangling from his ear like some absurd piece of jewelry. Aryna forgot all about harassing K'lir when she saw it and didn't even try to muffle her laughter at the bronze weyrling. Shards! He looked ridiculously funny with that bright green thing hanging on his ear!
Cezine was distracted by the yelp and looked away from E’ri just in time to see the little green dangle comically from C’lryn’s ear. Unable to suppress a giggle, the green weyrling shuffled over to the young man and offered her bowl of meat to him. “Congratulations.” She couldn’t quite keep a straight face as she said it, snorting in an effort to hold in her laughter. C’lryn was good enough to grin back at her, dangling salamandyr and all as he reached out and took a fistful of the meat.
“Thanks. Here, beauty, try a bite of this. It’s bound to be tastier than my ear.” Although he seemed fairly nonplussed about it now, there was no doubt that C’lryn was relieved when the green released his ear and charged toward the handful of meat. BITE! She hissed before attacking a large gobbet, giving it a thorough shake before gulping it down. It was quickly followed by another, and another, and just when the bronze weyrling feared he might have to pull out the dried strips of meat he had in his belt pouch, the little green sniffed at his empty hand, flicked his palm with her tongue, then promptly flopped down in C’lryn’s hand, her eyes falling closed and her meal outlined in lumps against her belly as she fell asleep. It seemed she was finally sated, and a good thing too, for Cezine had already moved back to stand by E’ri.

Liassa grinned excitedly when the first salamandyr hatched, a brilliant blue. She willed him to turn in her direction, but he seemed utterly uninterested in finding a bond. A few insects had caught his eye, dashing her hopes a little. She still watched him, hoping he would grow bored and look for a bond.
But when the green hatched, her attention was drawn away. The little one was making quite the scene. Apparently the leather had done something to offend her, either that or she was just a vicious little one. Liassa was almost glad when she literally latched onto another, she looked like a handful and not the good sort. She didn't want to have to deal with scratches and bite marks from her salamandyr, if she managed to acquire one.
Just as she'd turned her eyes back to the blue, another egg began to rock. She began to shift her eyes between the two of them, wondering if the blue would choose before the egg hatched...

Enjoying a few minutes of relative peace, during which Raen could actually wake up, so that she wasn’t falling asleep between the hatchings and Impressions, the candidate leaned back on one of her legs, looking over to the eggs without really seeing them for a few moments. After all, the sun hadn’t risen, nor would it for another few hours. Didn’t she deserve some semblance of peace… at least before the ‘mandyrs started hatching? Well, if not, than too bad. Raen got it anyways, as her eyes drifted closed for a moment or two. Or three. Maybe more. But who’s really counting? She certainly wasn’t.
Her eyes were jerked open once more by the first egg hatching. Some of the Salamandyr Candidates “ooh”-ed and “aah”-ed for the seconds that they could see it, before the creature ducked towards K’lir and Uu’n… still failing to Impress, but out of enough people’s sights so that it wasn’t as big a deal as it was before. For Raen – who was still too drowsy to “ooh” or “aah” – she was captivated with the little blue, but looked towards the Red Star Egg in defeat once it began to hatch.
When the green hatched, Raen couldn’t help but look at it, somewhat amazed, as it bounded over to one of the weyrlings, jumped, and latched onto the boy’s ear. What could Raen do but giggle a bit, a giggle which quickly turned into a yawn, before turning once more towards the clutch… towards the Witching Hour Egg, Adith’s Egg, and the Midnight Blue.

Coralt kept to the back, rubbing his eyes a little as he was reminded of the early hour. But the monotony was quickly ended when the first egg hatched. It was just a little blue, but he was a beauty. His lack of interest in the crowd, however, caused the candidate to move his eyes, looking the other eggs over. He'd only focused his attention on the Twin Moon Egg, when the hatching of the Red Star Egg drew his attention away from his quiet observations.
Now this hatchling was a spitfire. He bit back a laugh as the little one abruptly attached herself to C'lryn. He felt bad for the weyrling, he doubted that the Impression was full of rainbows and happy feelings. Those talons and teeth looked like they hurt. He knew it'd be worth it to have a small bonded, but he wasn't going to invite the next to hatch to claw up his leg.
Since she had chosen, Coralt looked the eggs over again. Something about the Twin Moon Egg kept holding his attention. Something was off about the coloring but he couldn't put his finger on it. The Witching Hour Egg was also intriguing. It almost seemed like a mottled mess, but something about how it was all thrown together seemed to adhere to a specific design that no one would ever be able to figure out.

Speaking made K'lir visibly jump and he looked around before turning to Aryna. Were he anyone else he might have turned an admirable shade of scarlet in embarrassment, but he was K'lir of Calistoth and he had no shame. Showoff and Calistoth had both seen to it that K'lir was not easily embarrassed and that he almost never blushed. So instead he simply gave the brownrider a baleful look that suggested he was capable of murder with his eyes and folded his arms across his chest. It wasn't his fault that Uu'n looked good enough to eat, sweaty and shirtless as he was. It wasn't his fault that he was considering the virtues of knocking Uu'n over and tracing his tongue over his chest. It was Showoff's fault, not his, and he absolutely refused to take any responsibility for the rampant, inappropriate thoughts flaring through his mind, thank you very much and have a nice day! Oh, how glad he was that Showoff was distracted (chanting Beautiful, beautiful! no less; if he got any more proud K'lir would have to restrain him) and that Calistoth was still blissfully asleep. He wasn't sure he would have been about to handle it if they jumped in on the teasing... though, Calistoth was more likely to get jealous; she'd decided she hated Uu'n solely because "I don't want to share you, mine!" or something. Silly green.
More and more people filtered in, and most of the awkward thoughts found their way out of his mind. With a crowd there was no danger of him doing anything inappropriate no matter how tempting, and he finally managed to tear his eyes away to the clutch. It really was an impressive one, and he complimented Dael privately. Perhaps after the Hatching he'd tell her himself, as he had no problems speaking to firelizards and salamandyrs alike. He was grateful to see it hatch as hopefully Lust would be the one to catch Dael the next time she ran. He didn't have any problem with Dael.. he had a problem with the mad desire to rip off Uu'n's clothing on sight. No, no, no -- Rielana.
Oh, how glad he was that Calistoth was asleep. Even when she wasn't awake his contempt for the other greenrider was obvious in the way he did not so much as glance at her. Calistoth hated Jeminorth in such an intense fury that K'lir found it amazing, and some of that hatred had spilled over onto K'lir; not enough that he would ever be any more nasty to Rielana than he was most people, but he definitely scorned her. Were Calistoth awake she would likely have thrown a huge tantrum that Jeminorth's dared to come to her hatching, never mind that she had nothing to do with it. Calistoth claimed Showoff as hers whenever he did something she liked, sort of like the way she'd taken up with Trouble because he obeyed her. It was silly, but it was totally Calistoth's nature. He'd given up trying to understand her.
The first of the eggs hatched and he was most efficiently distracted in whirling to look at the blue salamandyr as it ran past him and up the wall. He squinted slightly and raised an eyebrow before turning toward Aryna and pointing, "I don't think he likes you either, bigmouth." He would use the salamandyr passing them by as an excuse to get back at her for teasing him. See, just because he hadn't responded immediately didn't mean that K'lir didn't have some kind of snarky response. Opportune moment much?

E'ri sighed, leaning against the wall. He shouldn't even be here in the first place. After all, he had two little human mouths to feed as well as a flitter and a feline. How a salamandyr would fit in was completely beyond him. Irritable with the idea, his hand went down to his bandaged stomach, wincing as he touched it. He was like a little boy, touching it when he knew it wasn't going to feel good. But he was dying for the stitches to come out and being able to wander around normally again! And hold the babes at the same time again... He grimaced. Now he had to be doubly delicate. Well... they didn't need such careful care as they needed as newborns. They were almost a turn old now. It was dizzying. Nearly a turn without his Mal. Involuntarily, he twitched. It seemed like just yesterday... Yet he was slowly healing. He couldn't fathom the thought of becoming that close with another woman again, but he no longer wanted to mourn whenever her name was mentioned. And she had left behind two lovely babes, both of whom were so sweet. Rika was developing into a gentle little soul, with wild black locks of curly hair. Malerik was similar in looks to his sister, but was becoming the bolder of the two, always trying to grab Quaver. E'ri smiled a little. What would they think of a salamandyr if he Impressed one? Well, maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.
Startled as he heard someone speak to him, he smiled weakly as he looked down at Cezine. "Hello to you, too," he told her drolly, crossing his arms over his chest. "Bazeth told me to come. Don't worry, mother, I won't pull my stitches out in this brief little visit," he added with a chuckle. "And I'm always resting." At her second question though, he raised his eyebrows. "Nocturne is watching them," he explained simply. He highly doubted that they would wake up during the few minutes a hatching took. And if they did, he could always rush down. Hatchings weren't terribly important. Certainly not more than his children. Cezine should probably know not to question that.
Frowning as she winced, he glanced down at her bowl of meat. "Be careful," he warned. Then a smile slowly appeared on his face. "And why aren't you resting, young lady?" he asked in amusement, a mockery of her own concerned tone. However, any other sarcastic remarks from him were, thankfully, silenced by his curiosity as the eggs hatched. Smiling in amusement at the blue and green, he looked over at Cezine thoughtfully. "Why do we want to Impress these things, again?" he asked drolly.

Elzyn was late. Bereft of a dragon himself, the wherhandler had been wandering around, not thinking of anything in particular, when a stream of people attracted his attention. Although his attention was nothing that was hard to draw, it was drawn more than normal. It reminded him almost immediately of Ink, the nearly-black brown flitt he had happened across in a kitchen some time ago. That had been a Hatching as well, and while Elzyn was more than happy to have the somewhat aloof flitt around him, he wasn't quite sure he wanted another.
Thankfully this was somewhat different. It was not a firelizard Hatching, as he had first suspected upon arrival, but something entirely different. Salamandyrs. It was a salamandyr Hatching. Interest thoroughly piqued, the wherhandler sidled into the stables, watching the eggs intently and doing his best to ignore those around him. He was hardly the most sociable of people, and larger groups such as these did little to settle his tense mood. He was already missing Elzysk, for he had abandoned the brown wher momentarily to find something to do. As much as he loved the stubborn wher, he wanted some freedom for himself. Lo and behold, he had found something entirely different.
Elzyn settled for focusing his gaze only on the Hatching, watching with narrowed eyes as two eggs hatched. Even as he watched the Red Star Green bonded somewhat viciously to a rider, while her brother, the Midnight Blue, sat placidly by. He hadn't known that salamandyrs were so...vicious. Shivering slightly, he looked over at the shaking Witching Hour Egg, gaze also flicking to the quickly Hatching Sunset Egg. He hardly noticed the subtle rocking of Adith's Egg, for it was barely moving, though if he had bothered to look closer he might have noted it.
[T'nmor's doing something, lalala.]

Adith's Egg shattered, surprisingly, before the Witching Hour Egg, revealing a tiny, incredibly pale salamandyr. The 'mandyr uncurled, then opened his eyes. His... his white eyes. For the salamandyr which had Hatched was indeed completely blind. He blinked, slowly, as if disbelieving that he could not see, and took a step forward, bumping his nose into the Witching Hour Egg, which smacked him in the face.
Trembling, Adith's Blue froze, trembling, his blank eyes wide with terror as shards sprayed across his face. From the Witching Hour Egg stepped a huge bronze salamandyr, his hide every shade of bronze, randomly smushed and whorled together in a maelstrom of color. He crawled over the blue salamandyr as if he didn't notice him, frill waving as he examined the people. MINE! he cried, sounding remarkably cheerful. He leapt off the shelf, leaving light scratches on Adith's Blue, and glided to smack into Darya, scurrying around her body before perching on the back of her neck and gnawing on her hair. Yum... eat?
The blue tried to step again, only to be thwarted again as the Sunset Egg and the Starry Egg cracked and broke in tandem, revealing a brown and a green. The blue made a whining noise. Please, he whimpered into Kalushka's mind. Please. The Starry Green was a pretty creature, pale green, and she hopped once, before falling off of the shelf with a squeak. She repeated the hop-fall several more times before running into Raen's shoe. The green blinked, looked up vacantly, and then sat on the girl's shoe. She'd made her choice.
The brown didn't seem inclined to pick yet, just sitting in the Clutch.
Starry Green To: Raen (Marissa) Code: 76EEC6
Appearance: Dainty and prim, this salamandyr is undeniably pretty. She puts one in mind of a brat’s babydoll, with a sweet, innocent face and a slender, diminutive body. Her hide glimmers a pale pastel green, almost minty in color, and her body itself is long, while her neck and tail are average. Her limbs are on the small side. Her wings are slender and very nearly translucent, casting semi-transparent shadows whenever they’re opened.
Personality: Even though she looks very sweet and charming, this green is, unfortunately, quite the opposite. It’s not that she’s mean, really… she just isn’t anything at all. She doesn’t do or say much, preferring to lie around and look cute. She’s rather listless and dull, in every aspect of the words. Sadly she is not the most intelligent of salamandyrs, even for a green, and any words she picks up will be with great difficulty. Training will be nearly impossible, as she truly has no desire to do anything except eat and sleep. Well… at least she looks cute?
Witching Hour Bronze: Impressed to: Darya (Kisha-Ra) Code: 999900 Appearance: Quite eye-catching indeed, this little bronze bears an almost brindled appearance. Everything ranging from a rusty golden shade all the way down to olive drab mixes and mingles on his hide in scrumptious swirls. The colors stand out in a manner that is very noticeable, and yet he seems to have the ability to blend in and go unseen when he so wishes. In some cases, his unique hide is much more camouflaged than one might think. Whenever he flares the frill around his neck, it looks more like he’s showing off than anything else, as the colors swirl around almost in a spiral.
But even if he were the dullest shade of bronze imaginable, this little guy would still be quite handsome. He seems to be the poster-child for male salamandyrs everywhere, bearing neck and tail of perfect length. His body is well-built, sleek and slender but strong, with sturdy legs equipped with the perfect claws for climbing on just about anything he wishes to. The only imperfection to this little bronze is that his wings seem to be abnormally large. They will always be this way, but on the bright side they aren’t too large for him to carry, and it will mean extra air-time in the long run. Personality: Despite his strapping appearance, the Witching Hour Bronze is actually a nice guy in disguise. He’s astonishingly friendly and loves everyone… yes, even firelizards! He gets along well with anything that will give him half a chance, as he’ll quickly prove. He’s not afraid to approach human, dragon, or wher, and one begins to think he’d even chat up a tunnelsnake if given the opportunity. He even prefers the company of his flying cousins (firelizards) over his own species and will give chase to any flitter who Rises within his ‘territory’.
Adith’s Blue, or Night Sky Blue: Impressed to: Kalushka (Momo) Code: AFEEEE Appearance: This salamandyr is an odd one, pale ice-blue, and completely blind. Milky eyes stare from the silvered skin, blank and devoid of the brilliant colors others’ eyes bear. Small, it’s easy to mistake him for a white—until he speaks, or he is seen against a true white. Rather, he’s a runt, one who would never survive in the wild, and must be carefully tended if he is to have any chance of survival, even in captivity. Other than his obvious disability, this blue is a very pretty creature, with surprisingly large wings for a salamandyr, though it is a pity they are wasted on a ‘mandyr which will never fly. Personality: Gentle and demure, this blue is afraid of almost everything, and will freeze in place and tremble at loud noises, his claws digging into whatever surface possible. He prefers to always be close to his chosen Bonded, usually riding on the shoulder or on the sleeve, long nails hooked into the cloth. This blue rarely speaks, preferring instead to reply with chirps and quiet noises, only crying for His when terrified, or hungry.
Dawn Sisters Egg: Unmoving Midnight Egg: HATCHED: blue Howler’s Cry Egg: Unmoving Nighthawk Egg: Wiggling, cracking Twin Moon Egg: Unmoving Sunset Egg: HATCHED: brown Wildcat Egg: Unmoving Starry Egg: IMPRESSED: Raen Witching Hour Egg: IMPRESSED: Darya First Ray of Rukbat Egg: Unmoving Darkness Egg: Unmoving Aurora Borealis Egg: Twitching Red Star Egg: IMPRESSED: C’lryn Flamefly Egg: Unmoving Adith’s Egg, or Night Sky Egg: IMPRESSED: Kalushka Watchful Eyes Egg: Unmoving Constellation Egg: Unmoving

Amused by the little creatures, K'von chuckled as several salamandyrs selected their chosen ones, rolling his sore shoulders and neck to ease out some of the aches. Sharding Benden riders.... it was going to take awhile to get rid of the wounds, and he wasn't happy about the limited range of motion. It usually did not bother him as much, but rolling out of bed and heading out as quickly as he had was likely the major source of irritation. Shards. He hated being injured.
He watched with a broad grin at the two hatched and unbonded salamandyrs made no move towards the people. The brown seemed fairly happy in his little spot, and K'von, reminded of Dohulth when he hatched, couldn't blame him. Hatching was hard work, as Dohulth had kindly reminded him when they were weyrlings and he griped about having to clean and oil all of the growing dragon. At least I'm not big or a bronze! the dragon had pointed out, very amused, to which K'von could only grudgingly agree. The little blue, off to the side and eating insects, did not seem even remotely interested in the people gathered. Frowning suddenly, it dawned on K'von that he should have brought some food tidbits with him. He hadn't really planned on trying to Impress one, though, and he still was not so sure about the idea. Some of them seemed rather violent.
Fidgeting a bit and grinning from ear to ear, Fiona smiled brightly as the little salamandyrs hatched, leaving off her mess of a hairstyle to admire the beautiful little creatures. Oh, the colors... so beautiful! She brushed her hair away from her face, minding it only a little as she focused her attention on the little hatching creatures. The more she saw of them, the more she was interested.
Not all of the creatures were interested in the humans, though, which made Fiona curious. The little blue had found his own food, and Fiona resolved to just stare at him and the solitary brown for a moment. They were all so pretty! If only she could get beads in all of these shades of colors, the weyrling thought she'd be a happy woman for Turns and Turns. The colors were fascinating, and they seemed so endearing. Oh, yes, she did want one now, and Raiyth's insistence at the back of her mind added to that. She edged a bit closer for a better view, still staying within the gathered crowd so as not to crowd the hatching creatures.
Savitri was almost immediately grateful for having brought her healing supplies. It didn't seem like the salamandyrs were causing any real damage, but small cuts could be among the most irritating. They stung, and they took ages to heal. She glanced at the fortunate--though how fortunate remained to be seen--people who had Impressed the little beasts. The little blue interested her, and it took a moment for her to realize that his white eyes were unnatural. Blind, then. That was interesting. There was a blind dragon too, wasn't there? Was that a common occurrence?
The thought bugged her, and she resolved to mull over it later, focusing instead on the other ones. The one salamandyr had sought out its own food and seemed to be ignoring the gathered people. Resourceful... she thought idly, nodding her head in mild approval. She kept her distance from the clutch, more curious than really wanting. She didn't need a little creature clinging to hera ll the time. She saw the havoc the little creatures could make, and that was the last thing the apprentice healer needed.

Liassa fiddled with her fingernails anxiously as she waited for the next egg to hatch. The Midnight Blue still seemed oblivious to the fact that he was supposed to Choose and that was worrying her a bit. Adith's Egg shttered right before her eyes, revealing a miniature blue salamandyr. It took Liassa a few moments to realize that the little one was blind. She didn't see his eyes at the angle she was at immediately.
When she saw it, however, she grew a little worried. Flitts with defects didn't typically make it very long and she assumed it was the same for salamandyrs. The little one would need a very attentive bond if he wanted to survive. Liassa continued to worry as the hatching of the green, brown, and bronze prevented the blind blue from finding his mindmate. But she did look eagerly at all three of them, hoping one would come her way.
None of them did. The bronze Chose, then the green Chose, and then the blue even Chose. All that were left hatched were the brown and the blue and neither of them seemed inclined to even glance at their audience. The candidate was beginning to worry if she'd even Impress at all. Sure, it wouldn't be terrible, but she would be quite disappointed. But, on the vague upside, her mother would be pleased.

Cezine rolled her eyes up to look at E’ri in a manner that spoke for her, clearly saying don’t EVEN go there as she came back to stand next to him again and heard his remarks. She just shook her head and looked back over at C’lryn just as his green flopped down in his hand, apparently to sleep. She wondered idly if she should tell the bronze weyrling that his ear was bleeding, but she didn’t move from her spot again. She stood with the bowl of meet braced lightly against her hip… on the opposite side from her wound. Again, she glanced up at E’ri as the blue rider spoke, flashing him one of her easy grins. “Well.. hopefully any that we Impress won’t be as vicious as that creature. C’lryn will definitely have his hands full with her.” She laughed, a quiet chuckle that ended when more eggs began to hatch in earnest.
Aryna was still snickering at the display the newly Impressed green had put on. Oh, she was something! The brown rider felt a hint of disappointment; she would have enjoyed having that green to herself… though it was doubtful that anyone else would have enjoyed it! All sorts of delightful ideas crossed through the former Benden rider’s mind as to what she could do with a creature like that. But, it wasn’t meant to be, and if she Impressed something at all, it would be enough. Dramuth would be amused either way. She turned her eyes back to the clutch, though she raised an eyebrow at K’lir’s comeback and snorted. She gave a one-shouldered shrug, clearly not that concerned. He’d have to try harder if his goal was to upset her.
Kedan shook his head over the commotion the green made, hiding a smile. She would certainly keep her bonded busy. But his thoughts didn’t linger long on the bronze weyrling and his new companion, gaze shifting over to the rocking eggs. His heart went out to the little blind blue, and it was all he could do not to scoop the frightened hatchling up. That would probably only terrify him more. But the harper’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of the bronze that hatched next. He was positively stunning! And large… he watched as the hatchling immediately chose his bonded, but really, his attentions were on the little blue. He looked so sad sitting there amongst all the eggs, blind and frightened. The hatching of the Starry Green distracted him momentarily. She was a pretty little thing, and her hops put a smile on Kedan’s face. But there was something… missing, about her, and it didn’t take the harper long to realize that she was somewhat dull-witted.
But he certainly didn’t point this out, instead watching as she chose one of the candidates as hers.
Occupied with his own hatchling, C’lryn only glanced up when he heard the crack of more eggs breaking. He seemed to have unbelievable luck at Hatchings, and he still hadn’t decided yet if he was happy to have Impressed this little green monstrosity or not. Gingerly, he reached up and felt his ear where she’d latched on. His fingers came away wet and he already knew he was bleeding. Swearing softly to himself, the bronze weyrling took himself out of the crowd and away from the clutch, giving someone else the chance to get close. He didn’t want to run the risk of Impressing another one like his Bite!

When the small creature in Adith’s Egg Hatched, Kalushka felt her heart break. Born without sight, the icy white Blue couldn’t find away out of the nest. Suddenly, a terrified cry sounded in the back of Kalushka’s mind. Please, Please! Kal’s eyes instantly went to the blind Blue, and before she knew it, the candidate was carefully making her way to the small creature. Scooping him up in her hand, Kalushka quickly moved to the edge of the ongoing Hatching. After locating a bowl full of fresh food, the candidate plopped down nearby to coddle her newest friend. As she carefully fed him, Kalu wondered what she should name him. His coloring was an icy white shade of blue and his eyes were as white as the fog. That’s it! “Hello, Little One. Your name will be Fog.” Fog crooned weakly before curling into a little ball in Kalushka’s hand. The girl smiled lovingly before turning her attentions to the Hatching. Would anymore Hatchlings have deformities like her little Fog?

Darya looked directly at the blue salamandyr that hatched without Azrath needing to prompt her. Then the vibrant little green caught her eye, and apparently C’lryn’s ear. See? They are fine creatures are they not? Azrath asked, looking at the salamandyr hatchlings through his riders eyes.
Another two eggs shattered, the first revealing a tiny, pale blue, who had the misfourtun to be struck by the shell of his bronze clutchmate’s egg. There was something strange about that blue salamandyr. His eyes are like Benath’s. He must be blind too Azrath observed as Darya watched the little salamandyr tremble and the large one examine everyone.
MINE! Darya frowned, that voice definitely wasn’t Azrath’s…That mystery was quickly solved by the impact of the bronze hatchling, however instead of stunning himself and falling, as Darya had half expected, the little creature grabbed her clothing with his claws and scurried around her before stopping at the back of her neck to nibble on her hair. Yum…eat? The bronze enquired.
‘Not that.’ Darya fished some cooked meat from a pocket. ‘Come around here where Azrath and I can admire you. This tastes much better than hair I’m sure.’ The bronze darted down her arm and fell on the food with apparent enthusiasm. I like him. Azrath announced. Darya nodded, very taken with the lovely colouration of the bronze as well as his cheerful nature. What is his name? Azrath inquired, prompting Darya to think. She wouldn’t name him for his hide, how could she when so many shades mingled so strikingly.
As if in knowing that Darya was considering him the salamandyr chirped happily and raised his head from his meal. Eat like. Yum. He muttered, seeming to think some comment was required. He’s got a bit of merry mischief in him. Darya commented to Azrath. Why don’t we call him Imp?
It is a good name. Greetings Imp. Azrath spoke to Imp as well as Darya. Is mine! Imp joyfully clamed Azrath, any dragon of his human was a dragon of his!

Rielana had spotted K'lir, had instantly chosen as spot as far away from him as possible.. While trying to remain near the clutch, she didn't want to loose her chance at a salamandyr just because Jeminorth had something about K'lir's green. So they didn't like each other(understatement much?), that didn't really mean anything. As they grew older maybe they'd grow out of their dislike. A snort in her mind told her just how likely that was. She couldn't really pay attention to that now, not with other eggs hatching rapidly.
C'lryn Impressed, a green, a ...cute green? She'd latched onto his ear, an amusing picture, one that Rie almost laughed at. Only the thought that it must hurt stopped her giggles from becoming too out of hand, how it must hurt to have something dangle from the ear... Ooooh, Minoath! Yours Impressed something! Mine says to tell you congratulations for you and Yours, Yours has already moved away or she'd say so herself. You are very lucky, two little ones to take care of! Jeminorth sounded delighted for him, her attention momentarily fixed on her friend, before it swung back to Hers. She didn't want to miss Hers Impressing something. If she did.
More eggs hatched, that was ... Six now, yes? Sounded right and was that poor little creature blind? A sympathetic sound instantly came from Rielana, the girl's eyes not leaving him until he'd chosen. What a horrible thing to happen! The poor thing would never see the sun, or the grass, or the lake or- I think it's safe to say he'll see nothing Mine. Maybe he won't miss it then... It's probably best if you don't try and list everything in the world though... All though the green sounded sympathetic, she managed to sound amused too, sympathetic for the blue, amused at the fact that had she not interrupted, Rielana probably would have tried to name everything she could think of. Later she'd suddenly think of something else and add that to the list, then she'd forget what she'd said before and it would just become a whole big mess.
The brown wasn't the only one unImpressed though, now Rie had the chance to look away from the rapid Impressions, she could see both a blue and brown. Both cute in their salamandyr way.. Who would they go to?

Turning her attention back to the blind blue to watch his impression, Raen saw only out of the corner of her eye that the Starry Green had falled off the shelf, emitting a squeak. However, when she felt a weight on her shoe, the candidate looked down in surprise. That was the Starry Green, right? Yes… same pale coloring, same pretty, daity form. Watching as the creature blinked up at her without much expression, Raen only smiled.
Bending down, the candidate scooped the little green off of her shoe, cradling the little girl in her arms for a moment, trying to decide on a name. She seemed so lazy, and yet she was adorable. Eh, maybe she was simply getting used to the environment. Raen looked around for a second, to see if the other ‘mandyrs were acting as such. Nope. They were all quite fine – especially that bronze. Cuddling the green to her chest, and receiving a partial squeak of protest, Raen decided on the name.
“Shirk. That is your name,” assigned Raen to the little green with a smile. Yes, was the reply that the candidate received. Eh, good enough. Yes. It seemed as though Shirk liked her new word.
