Another Day Blue Name: ? Age: Hatchling Species: Firelizard Color: Blue #ced3f9 - #3026b4 - #4540b8 - #a4acb9 Gender: Male Based off of: Valentine’s Day Looks to: Perion
Appearance: The perfect image of grace, this is one firelizard sure to burn himself into everyone’s mind as memorable. Though he’s on the small side, he’s definitely not easy to overlook: his wings are long and lean, elegant even, with sharper points that give him a more masculine appearance than many of his kind. His body itself is slender and streamlined, but not lacking in muscle – quite the opposite in fact; every time he beats a wing, it’s painfully obvious that he’s a strong firelizard – built powerful for quick bursts of speed that will make his sisters turn and stare. He’s an impressive little guy to behold and his most prominent feature is his face, which is rounded and sweet. He looks innocent and as though he’s permanently smiling – no doubt a feature that many people will find highly appealing. Coupled with soft, smooth ridges that, while definitely there, are more innocent, and this firelizard looks more like a well-sculpted doll. Innocent. Angelic. Beautiful.
His coloring even fits this impression. An elegant shade of icy blue makes up the majority of his hide, just two shades off of white – enough to be blue but still described as painfully light. However, he has accenting that illuminates his hide and makes him anything but “cold.” Like a fine sapphire, the sails of his wings are darker and seem to shimmer when caught by light with lattice-work silver like lace covering both the tops and bottoms. Over his forelegs are deep violet-blue hearts – that’s the only way to describe the spots that adorn him – and he flaunts them with every movement as though to show off how unique he looks. He has similarly colored markings over his face – only, instead of being hearts, the ones there appear to be flowers. There’s no other way to describe the looping patterns over his eyes: lovely little flowers showing themselves off for all to see – like daisies. He’s definitely a cheerful looking firelizard. Ever the romantic, he always has a flower to share~
Personality: Flirt. That is the word that describes this blue firelizard to a tee. There is nothing else that fits him quite so well. He’s a blatant, undeniable flirt who makes no effort to hide that he likes attention. Females are his favorites to flirt with and he’s prone to bringing gifts of flowers, food or shiny objects that he’s located (but almost never stolen) to show his affection. He favors bringing only certain types of flowers to his chosen. For instance, the green of the moment may get only lilies, while if he decides to flirt with a gold, she may only get wild flowers that are purple. It varies female to female and he almost never doubles up; his memory for these details is actually quite good and the thing he enjoys most about flirting is making another creature feel appreciated. In this respect, he tries to always be different and original. No two creatures get the same treatment. A particularly analytical person might note that this firelizard, as a result, has a very good memory for details – that which rivals some dragons, quite out of character for a blue. But he does. He has to remember or else what kind of romantic is he? Hmm?
He also likes to ‘compose’ songs for those that interest him. Unfortunately, he’s very bad at it, so his singing might embarrass others – not enough to be painful but enough to be more comical than flattering. His interests don’t extend exclusively to females, either, though most of the time those are what he favors. He’s perfectly happy to flirt endlessly with other males as well – it just depends on his mood. Most of the time, he favors creatures that seem unhappy, as though they’ll benefit the most from his antics. He tries to be comical on purpose to boost other creatures’ spirits as well. Some might say that he’s fond of spreading joy and affection and the sentiment would not be inaccurate. He really does feel best when he’s making other creatures happy – regardless of species, gender or temperament. Just because some might be unkind to him (like salamandyrs) doesn’t mean they don’t need love too.
Aside from being something of an offense to hearing, this firelizard’s a mostly sweet little guy. His gets attention and affection from him at all times – he knows no other way to be – but asking him to deliver messages or follow orders is a laughable concept. He’s certainly smart enough to do so but he’s not likely to bother. That takes energy away from things that he would much rather be doing – like flirting with others. Tch. He can be bribed though: he loves sweets of any kind and will do just about anything for most types of candy. This bribing should be done sparingly though, for he learns well and will not likely take the bait multiple times. He’s too smart for that.

WHAT?! Akos leaped off of Anusha's shoulder and glided down to the empty egg. He didn't care if he was seen (had he ever?) and landed among the pieces. There was no baby! Wrong, wrong, wrong! He bounced and flapped his wings a little, looking at Ellie. Did she know? Did she know? Akos turned his head back and forth between the gold, R'wign, and His. Did they know? Then he did something for the first time; Akos chirped. It was barely audible, a whisper if he were human, and only the sharpest of ears would hear it, if at all above the noise. He chirped, because something was obviously wrong, and there was nothing he could do to fix it.
Hmm, Mine, it seems even the dragons are fighting, at least a few. Baoth and another.[/i] There was a pause...It seems Millieth has done something about it.[/i] Then the green dragon returned to her observing of the Infirmary ledge. Interesting, so much so since the basket had fallen, the entire place looked like a disturbed anthill. The rushing at ceased but the screeching certainly hadn't. The gold, Ellie, was still scolding something vigorously, thought what it was exactly the green couldn't see.
Akos! Get back here! But the 'rider's words were disobeyed. Anusha moved closer to the now broken-up fight, recognizing one of the them, the talking one, as K'lir from her weyrling class. The class itself seemed so long ago. "Are we all alive?" she asked aloud, almost sarcastically. Yes, she was well aware that the egg had hatched empty, which deduced some of the point from her words, and she didn't know what started the fight but having one break out seemed pointless. Ironic that people were getting injured in the infirmary. She wanted to ask what had made them decide to go at each other, but it was her own fault for not paying attention. Perhaps she could get that question answered after all the fuss?

A figure marching towards him caught his attention. Oh, no, no, no... Not the weyrlingmaster. Not Iskierka! He shouldn't have asked if the day could get any worse, because it just had.
He pivoted on his foot, trying to find another way to escape without being caught by the female Bluerider, but doing so was a bad idea. He was kind of dizzy and not used to only using one of his eyes, and thus almost lost his balance. Was going home to lick his own wounds too much to ask? He didn't want to be tended to. He yelped when an iron grip closed around his wrist, struggling with all his might. "Let me go," he growled, "I'm fine." As if to prove his point, he tried to open his wounded eye. Faranth! Quickly squeezing it shut again, he hissed all the Pernese swears he knew through gritted teeth. Okay, so maybe that wasn't fine. But he'd deal with it on his own. It couldn't be that bad, anyway.
K'lir's annoying voice drifted towards him again. Tch, rip his testicles off? He had already been planning on doing that to K'lir. He twisted his head around to glare daggers at the Greenrider and noticed that X'rx was helping him.
Now, that was just twisting the knife already in his side. Sad, defeated emotions rose to almost match his simmering rage. He tried to pull away from Iskierka with all he had, intent to launch himself at K'lir. "I'll kill him, I'll KILL THAT LITTLE SNOT!"
Craivaruth growled as Behruth got off him and spread his smushed wings painfully. Launching his dark-blue, vivid-green body into the air, he pumped his wings powerfully, gaining altitude. He rose past the Infirmary weyrledge, slowing down slightly to get a look at his rider. Bloody, and something was wrong with his eye. The Blue's ichor was set to a boil again. He roared as he broke the top of the canyon and clipped the air angrily at Baoth with his jaws as he flew past her, missing on purpose. (He didn't want to sacrifice His' place in a Wing, as Millieth had threatened to do if he attacked the Green.)
In a few moments, the Blue landed on Millieth's weyrledge, blazing, furious red eyes not looking unto his mother. The Blue did not regret what he had done - His had gotten hurt. And yes, J'ashmine was the one to throw the first punch, but it was because of K'lir's idiotic behaviours. Did no one realize how the blind fool had put the clutch of eggs in danger? And thus, K'lir was to blame. Tucking his long wings next to his body, he sat in the corner as the Gold had requested, slouching angrily against the wall. He would have explained to Millieth how this was all that sharding Greenrider's fault, but did not say a word, in fear of her wrath.
I am sorry, J'ashmine. I could not kill Baoth. Please get yourself healed.
Meanwhile, J'ash's Brown firelizard dove past K'lir from his watchful position where the basket had been hanging, growling. The muscled lump glided to land possessively on His' shoulder, snarling at Iskierka. It didn't matter who or what was threatening his rider - he would protect him by chasing off whoever or whatever was the problem. Why was everyone ganging up on His suddenly? Wrapping a bulky tail around His' neck possessively, he snarled at the Bluerider. If she came any closer...

If Elysia was put off by K’sel’s practically brushing her off she gave no notice. His loss not hers after all. Stretching she watched her distressed brown’s with a frown. Seriously this thing needed to /end/ so she could go home. Even the fight had been broken up by now. Tch. Darn. Now what was she supposed to do for amusement? In a lazy fashion her eyes scanned the rest of the crowd. Hmm. J’ash’s scream and struggle against Iskierka was noted with a humorless laugh. Seriously? Was the kid retarded?
With a few long strides she approached near Iskierka and put herself in front of J’ash as the benden bluerider kept hold on him. “Hey there cyclops. Why don’t you do us all a favor and shut up before we are forced to sedate you. Your making a right spectacle of things and if I where you I’d be terribly embarrassed. Then again I actually have a brain. Now shut your mouth and walk away before someone who actually knows how to fight knocks your teeth out.” The words where calm and falsely sweet and offered loud enough for the blue/green rider and everyone else around to hear. “Now be a good boy and obey Iskierka before I put you on your ass.”
Cold dark eyes gave him a sharp glare before Elysia looked past J’ash to give Iskierka an amused smile. Poor thing having babysitting duty. Children where so….disgusting.
~~~
Ruliana stood slowly as Showoff scampered away all without taking the bait. Oh well. At least he was away from any danger and couldn’t in turn endanger the remaining eggs. If the remaining eggs where even alive. Frowning the greenrider watched R’wign for a moment before stepping backwards and away from the basket and the clutch. Not much else she could do. The woman momentarily debated leaving but in the next instant decided against it. Yes she had her new darling Poe but she also wanted to see the last egg hatch before she left. The other egg had seemed to be empty. Perhaps the poor thing had betweened in fright and went wild. Not that she blamed whatever the egg had contained. The whole hatching had been beyond chaotic.
Poe nuzzled against her jaw at that thought and half lidded his eyes in obvious sleepy contentment. Ruliana raised one hand to rub the blue’s eye ridges. Oh well even if the hatching had been an exercise in chaos Poe was well worth the decision to come. In the back of her mind she felt Amalath support that thought happily.
Iskierka was quite aware of how J'ash felt about her. It told in his every response to her. Perhaps deep down it amused her. At that time though it was a hindrance to what she perceived as her assigned duty. The salamandyr perched on her shoulder offered no support as he scanned the infirmary for pretty females. The infirmary was full of them he noted and - oh wait. Infirmary. Shard. His mate! Right, right he had one! She adored him too, he recalled. Iskierka wondered if bringing the salamandyr along had been a good idea at all.
She'd managed to convince the creature to come because there would be hatching firelizards there and he hated them. He just had to make sure none of them Impressed to her, right? He'd been willing enough to come along then. The fact that T'ke and his salamandyr worked in the infirmary was something Iskierka had forgotten. The sudden desire to see T'ke brought on by Rhino was an unwelcome distraction. She shut out the 'mandyr as best she could but it wasn't entirely effective.
The yelp brought on by her grip surprise even the bluerider and she gave J'ash an inscrutable look. Seriously? Yeah, yeah, big scary teacher-person. Couldn't he get over it already? This was exactly why she didn't go out of her way to help people for nothing in return. At his insistance that he was fine Iskierka clenched her teeth for a moment in frustration before she shoved the emotion under her icy facade. "You are not fine. You will get that eye looked at, I don't care about your bitch scratches. That's an order from your Weyrlingmaster."
Suddenly J'ash was trying to pull out of her grasp and her eyes narrowed a fraction. Her second arm came up and she used it to hold him while her other hand shifted so she could clamp down on a nerve. She knew that such a hold was painful, more so when the person tried to move. She surmised it would be effective. "You will not be killing anyone because of such a stupid thing as a threat to rip off your testicles. You would have to grow a pair for him to rip off first. You are acting like a spoiled child. Calm down and shut up or I'll grab the nearest healer and have them sedate you like a rampaging animal."
Her tone was pitched deliberately so the nearest people would hear it. Shame could be an effective inhibitor on occasion. If a woman telling him he didn't have a pair and was treating him as no more than a dumb beast was scolding him in public didn't put him to shame she would be forced to conclude he didn't have any. He even let his firelizard defend him. The brown was awarded a look just this side of disgusted. It was her emotion but it was amplified by the salamandyr on her shoulder as well.
As Elysia joined her and J'ash the bluerider glanced at her. She must have been a bit too far away to hear what she had just told J'ash. Interestingly enough it was almost the exact same thing she had said. The smile she received from Elysia was met with a brief nod. She was either amused because of the idiotic boy (nevermind that he ought to be past the age for such a title) or the fact that Iskierka had to deal with them. Either meritted the greenrider's amusement. The bluerider knew well how she must look like stuck with a bunch of clueless weyrlings everyday.
Rhino loathed firelizards. In his mind they shouldn't even exist in the first place. His eyes whirled a dull, angry red as he hissed and spat at the brown in response. It was enough to get so close to him to get insult the brown but then the firelizard went and snarled at His. He wasn't the most loving of salamandyrs but he got royally pissed at any who dared insult His, and by snarling at her she'd been insulted. Rhino launched himself from His' shoulder and fell to J'ash's shirt. He put his head down and scampered up the man's shirt, fully intending on ramming the brown firelizard when he got to the top.
Tactless, K'lir was the sort that spoke whatever came to mind with little thought for censoring himself. X'rx was certain there were times when a thought wasn't voiced. When those times were, though, was hard to say; if you knew K'lir, you learned to take him as he was or constantly be offended. Which wasn't to say that the greenrider was right, really, to consider so little the reaction of others to his words. In X'rx's mind, he wasn't. But they were just words. Words might be hurtful, but only because you gave them that power...violence was different. The greenweyrling liked violence far less than a careless word. "Classmate," he responded, as if K'lir's words were a question.
A lethargy was taking hold of his mind as Bubbles ate his fill, the male curling up in the greenweyrling's hair to sleep off his first full stomach while Minnie coiled around him in pure motherly fashion. Anything he might have said in response to K'lir as he lightly urged the other man to sit, clearing the blood from his face with a damp cloth, was arrested by the shriek from across the ledge. X'rx blinked dumbly at the other weyrling for a moment. It didn't occur to him that J'ash might have heard what K'lir had said, given the many bodies in between. It wasn't as if the greenrider was shouting or anything. Venting, more like, and why not? Shocking, to have someone fly at you with little warning. "Uh..." He returned his attention to K'lir as soon as it became clear that Iskierka was handling it and X'rx wouldn't have to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. "No, no. They're just scrapes. You could probably get away without cleaning them and be just fine," he assured K'lir.
That wasn't to say he wouldn't clean them, though. The small amount of supplies he carried with him certainly wasn't as expansive as a healer's usual travel kit, but he had the basics for first aid.
"Redwort," he warned softly. Which was to say it would sting. After the abrasions had been taken care of - he didn't cover them because they really were negligible - X'rx peered at K'lir's face for a moment longer. "He punched you, didn't he? Nothing hurts too much?" The greenweyrling's eyes flicked back toward the fallen basket and the double-team across the ledge. Was that all Craivaruth that possessed J'ash? He wasn't sure. "I'm sorry about your salamandyr." People didn't seem to understand how little harm a 'mandyr could do to a clutch of flitter eggs already hatching - or how much harm a fair of firelizards could do to the salamandyr. And, by proxy, the one bonded to the 'mandyr. He wasn't sure if he believed that a salamandyr bonded as strongly as a dragon, but if it was even remotely similar - having so strong a connection to so small and fragile a creature would have made him a nervous wreck. He had no intention of ever Impressing one.
"Are they all right?" Kinstar asked R'wign from her position on the ground a few feet away. She couldn't see into the basket, even if she craned her neck, but surely there weren't that many eggs left... right? And the basket would have cushioned the fall somewhat, hopefully keeping the babies within from getting too badly injured. Even though force-Hatching was terrible for babies -- sometimes killing them -- wher Hatches could get pretty brutal, and from what she had heard, firelizard ones as well. Getting one's egg broken before one was ready was not an impossible event, and perhaps these babies would be fine.
Kinstsk, meanwhile, was getting over his bashfulness at failing, and crept up past Kinstar. She rested a hand on the brown wher's shoulder in a gesture of restraint, earning her a look. Rolling her eyes, the woman removed the offending hand and let her mind-mate move slowly up next to R'wign. He eyed the firelizards with a little bit of worry, then craned his neck over the edge of the basket to peer down into the nest. He, of course, had no idea whether or not there were supposed to be babies in any of the eggs, having only arrived shortly ago. Kinstsk looked back up at R'wign eyes pinning with yellow. Were they okay?
Classmate. Right. K’lir crinkled his nose but didn’t respond because at that moment, screaming was resounding from the other side of the infirmary. His head tilted toward the sound, listening, and then he put one hand up – touching X’rx’s chest to find where he was. The amused expression that passed over his face spoke volumes. It said without words, “Just classmate, huh?” But it was K’lir, and he couldn’t not comment on something as flamboyant as that little outburst. The only reason he could see for the blue-green rider to still be sulking was that he had X’rx’s attention... so, naturally, in true K’lir fashion, “Does he want you to screw him against a wall or something? Maybe bend him over one of these desks?” He didn’t really expect an answer to those questions but he was curious because honestly? Why else would he be throwing such a fabulous fit? “It’s really tempting to cram my tongue down your throat just to see if I can make him squeal like a stuck pig.” He frowned, then added, “I’ll pass though, ‘cause if I remember correctly you’re not my type and anyway, I don’t like being hit very much... even if it would be fun to watch him cry.” Pause. “Or, hear, rather.”
He supposed he was happy to know that his face wasn’t going to scar. Not that he had much room for vanity in a life of black and sounds. He couldn’t remember what he looked like but he assumed he was at least moderately attractive – maybe. He remembered his hair was red and his eyes were gold, that he was short and tended to be mistaken for a woman, he was skinny – that was it. One hand tentatively came up to his cheeks before dropping, so that X’rx could work more easily. “He’s scared. He’ll be fine,” he said of Showoff, though he didn’t really need to explain it – it wasn’t something that most people missed. His connection to the little bronze menace was stronger than some people bonded to their dragons. More than one fight was caused by Showoff’s upset. “He thinks the firelizards – and anyone who Impressed one – is going to try and kill him. Your classmate needs to learn sense and not set an entire group of hysterical flits on one little salamandyr though... Showoff had sense enough to hide and Ellie knows him. Others might not be so lucky.”
Near the clutch, R’wign turned his head up to the sound of speaking and his eye narrowed slightly before he held out a fragment of the shattered egg. “What do you think?” he asked the woman he didn’t know – her name wasn’t important; he thought it was obvious that they were not all right. There was most definitely a note of upset in his voice at the question, too. Ellie was hysterical, as evidenced by her attempts to collect the pieces of the egg and put it back together – maybe if she reassembled it, the baby within would return? “There were only two left – and one of them...” He reached into the basket, actually jumping at the feeling of a wher so close to him and turned his head. “Hi...”
His hands curled around the last remaining egg, the Contact Egg, still containing its shape. He pulled it close to look it over as Ellie squeaked and leapt onto R’wign’s arm to examining it carefully. He didn’t cry but it was a miracle that he managed to remain as calm as he was, because R’wign definitely was close to hysterical – and Ellie was. She nudged the egg and looked up at R’wign with vividly whirling eyes, her upset undeniable. One of her babies was gone...
... or was it?
For across the infirmary, a creature crept. Pitch black and sneaky, a very small figure hovered in the air, having come out of between directly behind A’emi. Her body was the darkest shade of green imaginable, except for a lighter green ‘skeleton’ that seemed to cover over her bones. She looked at the back of his head, her eyes whirling her mischief, and then let loose right at A’emi’s ear with a deafening scream that made her dam actually faint. She landed on A’emi’s shoulder a moment later and the La Vie Boheme Green chittered way too pleasantly, her amusement dancing through her eyes. Had she scared him – had she, had she?
The green hatchling’s scream made R’wign jump, the egg almost collapsing in his hands. Or maybe it was hatching all on its own, for a moment later an astoundingly cute brown firelizard uncurled – the only one of his color in the clutch. Chirping in confusion, he blinked and looked around, wide-eyed. What was going on? His head tilted and he looked up at R’wign for a moment before fluting a greeting – though R’wign immediately held his hands up in defeat, “You do not want me, l’il guy – I have way too many flitters.”
Apparently agreeing, the Contact Brown flapped his wings to dry them off and then lightly took to the air, barely making a peep. Unlike his sister, he saw no need to make so much ruckus. He glided across the infirmary, nervously avoiding anyone who seemed likely to be upset with him – and then spotted someone. Someone who needed him, even if he didn’t know it. Someone who needed to have him there to keep them in land. He slipped over and landed on J’ash’s shoulder with a quiet peep and then nudged his jaw gently – affectionately. Calm down, mine, the gesture said, and the little brown wound his tail around J’ash’s neck. Fighting is such a waste of time~~
La Vie Boheme Green Name: ? Age: Hatchling Species: Firelizard Color: Green #00440d - #05841d - #c4ffcf - #4bfe6c Gender: Female Based off of: Halloween Looks to: A'emi
Appearance: The word “creepy” would probably be the first thing to spring to mind upon viewing this firelizard. She has a slender, almost skeletally thin body that shows off bones whenever she’s angry – she can flatten herself much like a salamandyr to make a point. No matter how much she eats, she’ll always look thin, and her ribs will always be able to be felt when stroking her sides, for better or worse. Her length is moderately impressive, on the long side for a firelizard, especially if one were to consider her tail into the equation, although that part of her body is really only average for one of her kind. Her wings are extra long and the ends seem to be more butterfly-like than firelizard, with the very tip spreading out an extra length, much to the discomfort of most. But a butterfly is not what she resembles. Her face is angular and slender, more so than the rest of her clutch, and her eyes almost appear to be sunken. Though they’re large, which would normally be cute, they’re also slanted, giving her a permanently sneaky look. Coupled with the very prominent curve of her claws (which are pure white and stand out even in darkness) and this firelizard looks downright dangerous.
Almost black is this firelizard’s hide. Really, it only appears green when light hits her, and then it shines a dark shade like beryl – brilliant and memorable. Her back is lined with almost white markings that follow the lines of her ridges, her rib bones, and come down to mask her face like a skeleton. These white marks mirror down her tail. It almost looks as if some invisible force has painted her to match her bone structure. On the white masking of her face are lime-green starbursts around each of her eyes, flaring out like the rays of a sun, prominent and beautiful. The over-all effect is for her to look like she’s wearing a permanent costume – meant to scare or startle. In darkness, only the skeleton of her body is visible, which increases the effect. This is one firelizard who is very good at frightening people when she wants to... here’s hoping hers doesn’t scare easily!
Personality: Mischievous is this firelizard – in fact, there’s no other word that describes her more aptly. She has a fondness for playing “pranks” that, while harmless, can disenchant people with her. One of her favorite things to do will be to hide and then spring out to chatter at passersby, with the goal of making them jump in surprise. Similarly, it’s not unusual for her to sneak around at night, in the darkness where only her lightest markings are visible, and prowl up to people who look jumpy. The easier to startle or spook someone is, the more fond of them she’ll be and unfortunately, this will probably lead to her nearly stalking a handful of people – she doesn’t mean any harm, she just likes to get reactions, and usually once she’s scared someone, she’ll perch on them and rub all over them in order to emphasize her joy at their games. Because to this green, it is a game – it’s not actually something that results in people ever getting hurt and never would she do anything that caused real damage to someone. She’s just a trickster – nothing more, nothing less. Tricks aren’t tricks if they end in hurt.
In addition to loving tricks, this firelizard loves treats. She’ll do most anything for treats, including following instructions, which she understands very clearly. For a green firelizard, her intelligence is close to unparalleled, and she’s quite obedient to Hers. Treats can be most anything, but her favorites are tasty snacks – meat rolled in sugar or molasses – that she can nibble on to know she’s done something well. Most of her pranks are, in fact, aimed at people who won’t give her treats, and her favorite thing to do is beg upon first meeting for them: look how cute she is, don’t you want to give her something, anything? This can make her come across as a bit of a mooch, though it’s highly unlikely that she’ll mind that label. This firelizard likes treats from anyone, but she has eyes only for Hers in terms of long-term loyalty, after all.
Since she’s a “trickster” – nothing she does leads to long term harms. Only under absolute duress will she even so much as scratch anyone, let alone bite. The lone exception to this is that she’ll defend hers with a viciousness befitting her monster-appearance, but even then it only comes out when hers absolutely needs her. She’s smart enough to tell the difference and over-all, she’s a very loyal, loving pet… to hers. And to others, she can be an adorable little nuisance. Boo.
Contact Brown Name: ? Age: Hatchling Species: Firelizard Color: Brown #624300 - #d1bb56 - #7c3a00 - #eed587 Gender: Male Based off of: Christmas Looks to: J'ash
Appearance: For a brown, this firelizard is on the large side, though looking at him wouldn’t make it immediately obvious. He’s slender in built, which is distinctly reminiscent of his dam; when he’s not stretched out, he’ll probably look average for a brown at best. His build is unique in the respect that he has perfectly proportioned legs and slightly large wings – just large enough to be accent. His tail is thin and average length, with a slight hook at the end, so that it always seems to be bent slightly to the right. Elegantly sculpted is his face, bringing prominence to his slanted, decidedly masculine (and handsome!) eyes as well as the slight bumps of his ridges. The over-all impression of his looks is that he’s “softer” in features than the average male – not quite jagged, not quite defined – but still very obviously male; nothing about him could be described as overly “pretty.” His wings make him apt at flying long distances, but they fold and wrap around his body so perfectly that he could easily fit into tight spaces as needed – so he’ll never take up very much space. And he’ll easily be able to sneak into spots that most wouldn’t expect, if he tries.
Swirls of vivid color – indefinable and elegant, beautiful and handsome all at once, and definitely memorable. This is one brown that people will stop and gawk at – he’s probably one that even dragons will admire. A vivid, warm shade of brown makes up the majority of his hide, but to call him simply “brown” would be an insult. A network of lacey honey shades covers his body, adding texture and an almost metallic glint – easily enough to make some bronzes jealous, for it strongly resembles gold. The lace pattern covers his whole body and is most prominent over the laces of his wings, which become almost transparent when he flares them… except where the lace is. It’s literally like staring through golden lace. His legs are adorned with red-tinted ‘stockings’ that go up to the middle of them, almost as if someone put little socks on him to keep him warm. Finishing his look is a ring of golden-brown around his head that seems to be composed of tiny snowflake patterns that come to form a wide ‘bow’ at the base of his head: the perfect completion for an otherwise glorious firelizard.
Personality: ‘Sweet.’ That is the word that most people would use to describe this brown. Eager to help others – eager to be the best that he can – and always a wonderful listener, this is one flitter that most people will like. He’s very physically affectionate to his chosen (who will also quickly learn that his mental presence is ‘warm’ and ‘welcoming’ – like a good cup of klah in the dead of winter, or the gentle fluff of a furhide blanket to snuggle up to). He likes to lick, cuddle, and gently nudge. He has absolute control over his claws, to the point of being frightening, and he’s most assuredly one flitter who is incapable of violence. He would never hurt a fly. Ever. Even to defend his mindmate, he would not respond with any kind of violence. He chooses instead to try and placate people with kindness. He’s a pacifist. He hates fighting and will go out of his way to avoid it. Not because he’s weak – far from. He simply thinks that love and peace really are the way to go – and he’s charismatic enough that most people probably would agree with him. Let’s play instead, yes, yes? Between little twitters and musical flutes, it’s obvious this is one little guy who can communicate well. Mediator is his middle name.
And... He. Is. Irresistible! This firelizard loves to give gifts and receive them and his favorite thing to do is to find (not steal, as that would be taking it away from someone else) elaborate presents to bestow on people or creatures that he likes. No two gifts that he gives are alike, either, and it’s obvious that he puts a lot of thought into his ‘gifts’ for people. Everything fits in some way. He’s very good about remembering important dates and gifting for those too. Some firelizards bring trivial shiny rocks. This little guy is more likely to bring someone an elaborate flower, or a beautifully shaped leaf – something that reminds him of the one the gift is for. It always has to be perfect. If it’s not perfect, in his mind it is an insult.
Festivities and social gatherings attract this little brown. He likes anything where he can see a lot of people. Happy occasions are what he seeks, and he will doubtlessly haul His along to any of them that he can. Hatchings. Gathers. Feasts. Parties. All of them are things that he will attend with zeal – he likes big social occasions and he fits in them, chattering pleasantly and charismatically that he’s likely to make more friends than his mindmate is. He’s very fond of the eating too, and will often try to convince His to let him sample one of everything on the menu. Food is good, isn’t it? Must enjoy. But he isn’t a beggar and would never try to weasel food out of others. Gracious in accepting compliments, he returns every kind gesture given to him and he likes nothing more than to be around pleasant people/creatures and exchange his own pleasantries. Yes, warm is this little guy’s demeanor. Warm and welcoming – like a nice cup of hot cocoa. Which he’d really go for if you’re offering, thanks!
The shriek in his ear startled A’emi badly enough that he jerked against M’kai, knee probably coming uncomfortably close to the bluerider’s groin, eyes widening as he hissed out a curse, gaze snapping sideways. Anything M’kai might’ve said or done went completely unheeded (in fact, his very presence had been basically dismissed) in favor of the world narrowing down to focus on two very important things. It was probably a comical sight, A’emi’s jaw slack with horrified surprise, his grip on M’kai’s wrists loosening but not quite dropping away. However, how he looked was, for once, not one of the ‘very important things’.
The first thing was the firelizard, the feeling of her consciousness sliding flawlessly into his own, the wave of her delighted amusement (at his expense) and her hunger. He was acutely aware of the prick of her claws through the thin fabric of his shirt, the sticky slide of her tail across the back of his neck, the displaced air as she settled her wings into place. She chattered into his ear, eyes still dancing with amusement at his reaction, but now layered with a desire for food.
The second thing, however, was much less cute. It came in the form of a wordless snarl in his mind, at first, followed by a rush of white-hot fury. Kyrahth. A’emi winced, muttering a distracted “Um” at the firelizard, blinking because Kyrahth’s desire to hurt the little worm that thought herself worthy of Kyrahth’s Rider was more contagious than he’d like to admit and A’emi liked firelizards. Well, some of them, he did. This one, he did. That she was a green probably, he thought weakly, reaching up to offer one finger absently to the firelizard in question, made it worse. More of a challenge or something…? He didn’t really know. Kyrahth’s rage made it hard to…think.
The hatchling green’s low confused croons were distracting, the firelizard rubbing against his finger and mouthing playfully at it, tongue rasping roughly across the pad of his finger. She was going to eaaaat him if there was no food~ “Um,” A’emi repeated, and released M’kai entirely, blinking unseeingly at the bluerider as he backed away. Prioritize – but what came first, making sure Kyrahth didn’t kill someone or feeding a firelizard…?
Bring it back here, Kyrahth hissed, fury apparently resolving itself into words. Bring it back here and I’ll kill it, I swear I will, I /don’t/ share and you’re /mine/, you’re /mine/ and I /won’t/ let her have you.
“Don’t do that,” A’emi murmured, out loud, frowning faintly as he coaxed the little green into his hands from his shoulder. “That’s mean…” Then, remembering: Calm down, Kyrahth. It’s fine, I promise. She’s /my/ pet, not the other way around. He tilted his head, crinkled his nose at the firelizard, as soon as he felt Kyrahth settle into a sulky, furious silence. “Hi, beautiful. You hungry? Let’s go get some food. Then we can meet Kyrahth, who’s being a meanie right now. You can scream at her if you’d like, but she wants to eat you so I hope you’re good at going between really fast. I’m sure you two’ll be the best of friends. Eventually.”
Read: Probably never.
“Also,” A’emi went on, wandering out of the Infirmary – the chaos behind him was utterly forgotten in favor of examining every inch of the firelizard in his hands – “you need a name. I’ve never named anything before, I think I probably suck at it, bite me if you hate my suggestions, but not hard, please…crap. I left a M’kai behind.”
((J'ash's Brown's name will be Tux! <333))
Panting with rage, he glared at the Greenrider who was bold enough to speak so rudely to him. If Iskierka wasn't holding him back, he would have launched himself at her instead. And then at K'lir. He was too angry to realize that Elysia was more than capable of kicking his ass. He was NOT going to calm down. So let them try to sedate him! They'd surely have fun trying. Going down without a fight was not an option. Common sense was long gone out the window. His rage was so bad, he would've tried to take down a dragon if he had the chance.
He froze as he was suddenly immersed in pain, knowing that if he moved, it would hurt a hell of a lot more. His teacher was pressing on something - a nerve. He tried to struggle against it, not wanting to give up, but couldn't really do much against the painful grip. A salamandyr fell on his shirt and started making its way up, trying to get to Vomit. The Brown sharply looked at the salamandyr, hissing at him, crouching in an offensive stance. How dare he touch His!
Suddenly, another weight landed on J'ash's unoccupied shoulder. The Bluerider cracked open his good eye to look, stopping his struggling as he felt a thin tail wrap around his neck over Vomit's, and a head nuzzling his jaw. A beautiful Brown firelizard had perched on him and was trying to calm him down with warm, loving thoughts. He chirruped and licked His' face. Please, calm down, His! Slowly, J'ash's anger began to dissipate. He watched the gold-laced Brown with a softening eye. There was no way he was going to be able to attack anyone else now with this innocent hatchling sharing his mindspace.
He stood still, angry panting slowing slightly as waves of warmth washed over him from his new Brown. The Brown, named Tux after the bow-like decoration on his hide, peeped quietly at him again, happy that His had calmed down. Now, if only he could do something about His' pain...
Blue eyes looking at Iskierka, he chirped, willing the Bluerider to stop hurting J'ash. His was less angry now, and please please get him fixed, yes? If she did, he would bring her a lovely gift! Everyone loved Tux gifts! Tilting his head to look at the possessive Brown perched on His' other shoulder with wide eyes, Tux peeped at him and the salamandyr darting towards him. No fighting, no fighting! Especially on His!
J'ash stared at the Brown, completely awed by his beauty and friendliness. He felt hungry, knowing that Tux needed to be fed. He went completely limp in Iskierka's grip. He really didn't want to see a healer, but he would if it just allowed him to get some meat for the chirping hatchling.
One of the last eggs hatched, but the baby was no where to be seen. Had he or she betweened? The poor creature hadn’t fallen. Perhaps he or she had gone wild, but optimism wasn’t Perion’s strong point. He bit his lip. The last egg wasn’t moving yet. If two hatchlings died, it would be quite depressing. He hoped that the fire lizard baby was fine, and would appear, hiding somewhere in a moment. He tried to ignore this, and looked over to the blue.
He had stopped trying to comfort his mother, determined to Impress and please her. He twisted into the air, looking about. The young man tried to ignore the shrieking creatures above, focusing on the little blue. Suddenly, the creature landed on his shoulder, chirping softly. He nudged at Perion’s jaw, asking his new bonded for food.
“Me?” Perion murmured. “Are you sure you want me?”
A cheerful chirp greeted him. Perion blinked at the pretty little creature who climbed down to his arm. His form was lovely, almost feminine, but had masculine touches that more than compensated for his beauty. Strange, he was delicate and virile, lean and strong, and simply flawless, it seemed. Beauty was certainly no problem this fire lizard--his fire lizard. His face looked to be covered in flower-like markings. Lovely.
The creature cocked his head, looking at Perion as if waiting. For what? A name, perhaps? What would he name this creature? Something interesting. Unique. Just like the strange markings on this creature. But what, exactly? Something that wasn’t a real word, though. Tsuki, maybe? Short and simple, but with a pretty sound at the beginning. “How do you like that name?”
Tsuki trilled in agreement, crawling onto his bonded’s head. He tried to mimic the word, trying to make it into a song. The word “Tsu,” it seemed, could be almost duplicated by the fire lizard’s chirp, but the song was a bit…bad. “Tsu-tsu, stop!” Perion said with a chuckle. Tsuki stopped, pouting for a moment, before resting his head on Perion’s with a small smile.
