Tira did not expect a mob when she went to go get dinner. She was hot, sweaty, and irritable, and seeing people swarming in the dining hall just about made her want to turn around and take her chances with spear fishing in the river. Or scrounging for fruit along the banks. But then a bright baby creature caught her eye. Oh. Oh! A Hatching. That explained everything. And it also explained why Tiny was hanging onto the ceiling, humming outrageously loud. She liked salamandyrs, far more than she liked other firelizards.
Still wavering, Tiramnet caught sight of dark reddish hair and a familiar form, complete with an unhappy bronze Shells. Mind made up, despite being a sweaty mess from agility practice and with a new welt raising on her left thigh, Tira strolled over to Piden from behind, smoothing flyaways down towards her braided hair and wiping the sweat off of her nose. Clean enough, she supposed. At least she didn't stink.
"Look at what found you," she said teasingly, wrapping her arm around Piden's waist and hooking her thumb on his pant's waistband. "Did you really need another?" Tira blew at Shells briefly, by way of greeting. From the ceiling, Tiny trilled, odd-sounding through her humming. Tiramnet could almost hear the firelizard's thought processes -- why was she holding onto the other humanthing? She needed to go get a tiny-crawler, right now!
I don't think that getting closer will change anything, Tira chided softly. And Nike doesn't like them much. Which was an understatement -- Nikeath didn't like anything that was as obnoxious and chatter-boxy as salamandyrs at all. Impressing a salamandyr would be a delightful experiment in training and perhaps even in care, and she could even do a written work on the topic of salamandyrs, maybe working with T'mund... but. She wasn't going to go out of her way to force-Impress one, like she accidentally had with Tiny. Even though that experiment had worked delightfully...

The Zebra Swallowtail Green stayed completely still as her golden dam untangled her form the horrible things that where trying to eat her. What a lovely mother she had! The tiny pale green wiggled once more and was successful in removing herself from her trap. Giving her mother’s nose and excited lick she snuggled against the large gold’s chest, looking comically small in comparison. Harmony gave a soft croon and nudged the small mandyr encouragingly. Go now. Your’s waits. Giving her daughter a final lick she nudged her a bit harder, forcing the tiny thing away from her and towards the edge of the chest. The Zebra Swallowtail Green gave a creel of upset. No! She exclaimed back to her dam proceeding to creel and throw a fit that likened her to a toddler. Harmony gave a confused croon to her unwilling offspring and lowered her head….just as the Monarch egg behind her exploded in a rain of fragments.
The Monarch Bronze gave an angry trill and thrashed around to free himself from the remains of his prison. Frilling his head spines defiantly he examined his pathetic choices. He had obviously taken to long. Waddling forward he eyed his mother briefly before his eyes traveling down to the little mandyr who was stealing all of his mother’s attention. Attention that rightfully should be going to him! With a hiss he advanced on the two females and lunged at the small Zebra Swallowtail Green, completely ignoring his dam’s hiss of warning. The Zebra Swallowtail Green have a cry of terror and scampered away from the large bronze mass that had hurled itself in her direction. No! nononononononono. The pale mandyr cried out, scrambling down the side of the chest and sprinting across the table. Not a backwards glance was given in her terror.
Instead she reached out to snag the mind of the one she wanted. Reaching her chosen, the Zebra Swallowtail Green took a leap and landed on the woman’s shirt, all four sets of claws clinging for all they where worth. No! Clambering up Jazzheera’s shirt she ducked into the collar and turned herself around before peeping her small head back out to see if her brother was still chasing her. Turning her tiny head up towards the blue weyrling she frilled her tiny spines again. This one would keep her safe. Maaaaaama.
The Monarch Bronze had been preventing from pursuing by his angry mother who had simply flopped on top of him to nuzzle and scold him loudly. Huffing in irritation the chubby bronze tried to wiggle away from Harmony. Off! He exclaimed irritably, finally giving up and watching his sister impress with thinly disguised disgust. She could have that one. He didn’t want her anyway.
Pleased that the situation had been reminded and with her odd daughter successfully impressed to a decent human, Harmony rolled off her son and rose to her feet. The gold gave the bronze a final nudge before giving a backwards look at the remaining eggs. The Ruddy Copper and Clouded Sulphur eggs had just split, spilling out a ugly looking green and a bright blue respectively. As The Ruddy Copper Green and Clouded Sulphur Blue got their bearings the Monarch Bronze gave a irritated snort and regally waddled across the table to give a glare to Tiramnet. She should be paying attention to him. Not this poor excuse for a meat bag. Frilling his spines outwards he hissed at his chosen. Want food now! She better be quick about it to.
Behind the newly impressed bronze the Ruddy Copper Green and Clouded Sulphur Blue where having a bit of a stare down. Harmony swiveled her head to give them both a look of warning. She was quite tired of misbehaving children thank you very much.

Zebra Swallowtail Green Name: Impressed to: Jazheera Color: E5FDE3 green Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
Tiny. In fact at first glance you could probably almost mistake this little lady for a white. Upon reaching her full growth she will be no bigger that the length of a woman’s middle finger. Proportionately she is also a bit odd. Her head almost seems to be to large for her neck to support but she manages somehow. Her legs are short and stubby and seem almost to small for her body. In fact unless you look very closely it is hard to notice them at all. Every part of her is simply tiny and delicate. Huge eyes take up most of her little skull and give her a childish look that she will never loose. Her tail makes up over half of her length and strangely she is entirely devoid of wings at all. There are not even bony nubs where wings ought to have formed. Simply nothing. Around her head are the same bony spines devoid of and frill membrane. Hers are not hard like her siblings however. In fact they are soft spongy and entirely flexible. She also seems to be lacking in the teeth department. In fact she only has two front fangs. His means the majority of her diet will have to be made up of liquids or puréed meat. All in all this green looks as if she should have spent more time in her shell. Perhaps she hatched to early?
Color wise she is a green so pale it could almost not even be called green. More like greenish white. This color is pure all over her body only darkening in eyeliner around her eyes further accentuating their over large status. The only other marking she sports is in the middle of her tail. Instead of having double eyelet markings like her siblings she has only one. Not on her wings but in the middle of her tail. You wouldn’t even notice this unless you look extremely close however. The iris of this marking is white and the pupil is made up of the same green white shade the rest of her hide sports.
Personality:
Childish this little green is completely innocent. In fact she has the mentality of a three year old at the best of times and a infant at the worst of times. Everything about her screams baby. She is fond of making cooing sounds when she is content and screeching cries not unlike a real human baby when upset. She must be with her bonded or someone she trusts at all times as well. If left alone for any amount of time she panics and cries loudly until hers comes to collect her. She seems entirely dependent on her bonded for anything and everything. Like a child she is curious bout nearly everything and everyone and anything small enough will be put in her mouth. This green is also terrified of the dark and absolutely refuses to sleep unless a small amount of light is provided for her to keep the monsters away. Thankfully she spends about half her day sleeping. She is quite fond of curling up in her bonded’s clothes to sleep. Somewhere where she can be touching skin against skin is preferable. Much like a puppy in the way she exists, she plays hard until she exhausts herself completely and then falls into deep slumber. Upon waking she will be hungry and again she lets hers know with crying. Basically this mandyr seems to be permanently in the infant stage.
Verbalizations will be slow in coming for this little girl and even then her vocabulary will likely remain very small. Pronunciation wise she will speak like a infant first learning to talk and will likely be very hard for other people to understand. No will be one of her favorite words to use. Even if she doesn’t use it the way it is supposed to be used. Perhaps she just likes the way it sounds. Or maybe it is just her way of being bratty. It really is hard to tell. She will be nervous and scared around most other draconic creatures until she gets used to them. Once she does get used to them however she will be more than happy to play with them, cuddle, or let them care for her as needed. This little girl perhaps fortunately will never mature. She will never get glowy to run. Nor will she chase. She seems to be permanently immature. Call it Peter Pan Syndrome.

Monarch Bronze Name: Impressed to: Tiramnet Color: A74600 Bronze Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
Fat. This is the first word that comes to mind upon seeing this bronze. Unfortunately he has seemed to have inherited his dam’s genes as far as his weight is concerned. Size wise he is definitely the largest mandyr in the clutch and will definitely grow to be one of the largest bronzes in the weyr. Perhaps fortunately for him under the layer of pudge he has decent musculature. It will just take him longer to get in motion. Some of the baby fat will undoubtedly burn off as he ages but he will always be round in shape more than likely. The spines surrounding his head are blunt at the tips and unfortunately are also thick and short which doesn’t do much to distract from his chubby appearance. His wings are large but unfortunately very thin and weak. In fact there is no way they would support his massive frame. They are about as useless as most wher wings. Which means he will likely never be able to glide or fly. Simply flare them for show.
The male is a quite attractive color actually. An almost burnt looking orange. The shade only highlighted by the metallic bronze sheen to his hide. The color is in no way dull and in good health this mandyr will have a polished look to him at all times. Breaking up the uniform coloration of his hide are small mossy bronze speckles. The biggest concentration of which are spattered across his nose making him look as if he has freckles. These speckles seem to glint in the light, especially when he is oiled and only add to the attractiveness of his hide. Upon his wings are the eyelet markings that he seems to share in common with the rest of the clutch. His markings made up of a gold iris surrounding a scarlet pupil.
Personality: Like a typical bronze this male is arrogant. Perfectly content to look down upon other mandyrs. Especially if they do not acknowledge his obvious superiority. His attitude to his chosen can be described as bratty. He demands things, he does not ask for them and if he is not immediately supplied with what he wants he is prone to throw spectacular fits. Which might end in him getting his way solely to shut him up. Very self serving this bronze is a complete narcissist. He will take care of himself first and anything else is expected to come second. Even his chosen. This male is also very lazy. As such he will be fond of collecting slaves to do his dirty work. Most often lower colored mandyrs or children that he ropes into helping him with sweet words and promises. He is far too important to do his own tasks you see. These ‘slaves’ are obviously favored by him but if they for any reason gain his displeasure he will treat them with as much disdain as he treats the firelizards of the weyr. For upon hatching he has seemed to have made a declaration of war against his winged cousins. He hates them with a passion and will do his utmost to cause them terror. Up to and including trying to steal and eat their eggs and abusing them on sight.
As far as his verbalizations go he is very eloquent. Especially with other mandyrs. He likes to try and show them up. Forming complicated sentences and laughing at their mispronounced or smaller ones. He is also well versed in the ways of insulting and cursing. His favorite words to use will be any that cause a reaction from others. It doesn’t matter if it is a negative or positive reaction. More often then not he strives for a negative one. He simply adores the attention. In matters of love he is very picky as well. Never will he choose a permanent mate because he is simply too good for another. But he will grace a female with his presence on occasion, especially if they acknowledge his obvious superiority to the others in the chase. Just being there should be a good enough reason to be chosen in his opinion. Should he be spurred by her however the female should look out. Because he doesn’t take rejection well and the next time they cross paths she will no doubt be confronted by a very angry bronze.

It did not take Dorava long to find a face she recognized in the chaos, though what was going on over there was a bit unusual to say the least. Looking around, she swiped a handy meatroll and made her way over to where Kali was standing, talking to her shoe. At least, from up close that was what it looked like she was doing. But from further away, Dorava had clearly seen the little green thing that was apparently Kali's new pet.
"Hi." She said cheerfully to Kali, before offering her the meat roll. "I have a feeling you might need this." Dorava offered, cupping a hand over Val to keep him silent. He'd spotted Lust, and was about to make some bizarre comment, she was sure. Covering his head at her throat cut that off, but did start a whole new string of complaints. Now he couldn't see the babies either!! Rolling her eyes but with a smile, Dorava removed her hand again. The little blue head swiveled around, looking at all the babies that he could see.
"Is it just me, or has this become a favorite staging grounds for people with excess eggs to shed them?" She mused lightheartedly. It wasn't at all a serious question, but she couldn't really think of anything else to say either. What with the chaos, noise, exhaustion, and definite hunger all clawing for attention.

Finished with his meal, Alph climbed up on to his new bonded's head. Even though it still wasn't very high, it was still enough to keep a better watch on his siblings as the hatched. He wanted to see where each one went. It was the best way to keep from getting surprised later. They were always up to something, his brethren. He wanted to be one step ahead at all times.
Nabrik wiped his sticky hands on his pants, trying hard not to shake his head. Alph had a pretty good hold on his hair, but how strong were baby salamandyrs? It would be awful if he fell. He was still trying to work out the new batch of emotions. He was suddenly suspicious of all the hatched salamandyrs, but that wasn't right. He loved the talking lizards and wished he could have a whole bunch. Wouldn't Alph like that too? He would have siblings and friends to play with.
Nabrik reached up a finger to poke his new mindmate. "What's wrong, Alph?" he asked. A green and blue had just impressed and the green had gone to someone who seemed to already have one. That meant he could have more then one, if he could get them to come. No, Alph said firmly. "No what?" No more kin, he explained slowly. Nabrik made a face and put his hands on his hips. "Who's in charge here? Me or you?" Alph thought for a moment. You, he admitted regretfully. "That's right!"
Alph went back to watching the eggs with renewed determination. His bonded was so stubborn. Soon the boy would realize just how bad salamandyrs could be. Alph knew they were sneaky, Nabrik would learn. See? That bronze was already a jerk. Look at him picking on the little green. Alph sighed dramatically. His siblings had no sense at all. These two new ones were no different. Look at them, just staring at each other. What were they plotting?

"Nutlies? Sounds good, sure, whatever. Although I think he was working on Faranth- apparently she's not dead, just up in the sky. Either way, you've got a... oh, hey there, Tira," He was speaking aloud, wasn't he? Oops. Probably to cover up the endless abuse Shells was now practically shrieking, raging at Lust, and Harmony, at the newly hatched Bronze... basically, anything he could think of to tear in to. Unfortunately, while he didn't get a lot of the words in the right context, Shells was particularly verbal, even for a Salamandyr. He loved to talk, and yell, and Piden hadn't been able to shut him up yet. Someday he'd have a mate, and then he could go pester her all the time... Piden longed for that day. It couldn't come too soon.
Oh yes, Tira. Shells hissed and frilled in her direction when she blew at him, chattering half sensible abuse. Piden raised his eyebrows to the sky as he released his captive to his shoulder, making sure Tira got a good look at his expression of endless suffering as Shells took one look at Lust and fled. "I absolutely do not need another, but I figured it was probably bad manners to let Shells take off Harmony's face, and at first it looked like he was going to do that. Should have know better, of course - that Harmony can be fierce when she wants to be," he added, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her in for a gentle peck at the top of her cheekbone. He got about halfway there before what Tira had opened with really sunk in. He'd thought she'd been talking about herself, but No want!
Piden sprang away from Tira without thinking, eyes focusing on the no longer purring Green on the table in front of him. Want Mine. No want her. That last bit was said with such venom that Piden took another step away from Tira, attempting to smother the hate leaking in to his mind from the newest offshoot. With a flap of her eye-marked wings, the Green soared easily to Piden's collar, nuzzling up against his chin and purring again. "I didn't think it was possible to impress three of these things," he mused, trying to get a good look at the oddly shaped Mandyr. "Especially after meeting Shells. You know you're sharing your mind with that, right?" he asked, gesturing in the direction Shells had gone. "Sure you want me, number three?" Tira wasn't exactly forgotten, but a glance in her direction showed that she was busy, too. A Bronze - good for her, Piden guessed. For her sake, he hoped her new addition was more like Pidesk than Shells.
((She'll be Three <3))
Ten giggled at Jazz's explanation - ogling? Really? "That do be quite classy," she joked, watching Marsayis fend off his newest addition. He wasn't the only one, it seemed. "Strange, it do appear that several new Salamandyr owners did no want to impressed. They should have been farther away; it do be working for us," she added. As if to prove her wrong, a teensy pale thing launched itself at the pair of them. Ten slid sideways, taking her plate with her - no more pets if she could help it, thanks. The teeny Green was going for Jazz anyway. That didn't stop Ten from cooing in her direction, waggling a finger at the adorably eensy thing. "Oh, she do be so cute! She's yours?"

Tiramnet laughed girlishly at Piden's distracted state. It was obvious that Shells was driving him crazy, from the way he was talking to his expression as the salamandyr hissed and spat obscenities that made little sense. It was cacophonous in the Dining Hall, full of noise in the air and between the ears, from the chatter of baby salamandyrs still crying their first words at everyone. Off! a voice shattered in her mind, as Piden flung himself sideways, midway to actually saying hello to her. Tira jerked, surprised both at Piden's sudden weird movement and the sharp command in the voice. It almost reminded her of Nikeath in its imperiousness. Must be that bronze on the table...
Want food now, the voice demanded, as the salamandyr waddled forward and fixed her with a piercing stare.
You did not. Nikeath's voice was hard as iron.
"Ah... technically, he did..." Tira said aloud, prevaricating. She could feel Nikeath hissing, hear at the edge of her senses the sound of a whipcrack: the dragon's tail. Tiramnet pitied anything near to the dragon at that very moment. The green was prone to displaying her unhappiness with fang and deadly-accurate tail snaps. And you know as well as I that Impression cannot be undone, she added silently.
Tralove, it is.. disgusting. Its mind is unworthy! the green cried. The distaste was obvious in Nikeath's voice as the salamandyr's mind entrenched itself in Tira's and Nikeath's shared psyche. The dragon had grown fond of Tiny over the years; the little green fire-lizard had been Tiramnet's companion since before Nikeath had Hatched. There were few things that Nikeath loved and few places in which she felt at home, and the home of her heart was with her rider. To have that sanctum invaded by a creature like the bronze salamandyr was a shift in her world that she did not like... indeed, one which she hated mightily.
"I'm sorry," Tiramnet whispered to her dragon. The spoken word always seemed to be more real, as if drifting on the air made thoughts more real. He's part of our circle now. I'm sure that all will be well in a short while--
Said, FEED NOW!! the brone shrieked, rearing up and pawing at the air, his translucent wings flung outwards in a brilliant display of false eyes as scarlet as his own. Hungry! WANT FOOD! You, humanslave, FEED NOW!! Tiramnet narrowed her eyes at the beastie. She was not accustomed to taking orders from creatures approximately the size of her hand, and was not about to start now. Nikeath's huff of annoyance was filed for later soothing and oiling. This little creature had to be taught manners... immediately.
The beastcrafter stepped forward and poked the salamandyr in his stomach, knocking him over and making his screech and thrash in rage. Nonplussed, Tira grabbed him skillfully, his head poking from between her index and middle finger, his hind legs pinned between her ring and pinkie fingers, and his wings held down by her palm. The bronze thrashed and shrieked, trying unsuccessfully to free himself by pushing against Tiramnet's implacable fingers with his forelegs and flailing his tail around. He tried to pull his head through her fingers, to no avail but to force his spines forward and give him a ridiculous double-chin. The woman smiled grimly, walking towards the kitchen to collect food. She would grab dinner with Piden in a moment, perhaps.
"Now listen, you little suzerain terror," Tiramnet said sternly as the bronze panted, exhausted from his efforts. "You will be respectful to me and to my dragon Nikeath. And," she added as an afterthought, "to my firelizard Tiny." At the word 'firelizard,' the bronze salamandyr started shrieking in rage again, redoubling his efforts to be free.
No! NO!! HATE! Suzerain refuse be RESPEC'FUL. You nasty human-slave feed NOW!!! Feed Tiny! Eat up all firelizard. The salamandyr thrashed. Tira refused to let him go. She had far more endurance than the bronze, and before long the baby had worn himself out again and was lying limp in her hand, panting and glaring. The green firelizard he so disdained glided down from the ceiling. Her delight was obvious as she pranced on Tiramnet's shoulders. The woman held her captive up for inspection, and the green firelizard tried to lick him on the nose. The salamandyr bit her, startling a shriek from the flit, who looked at him sorrowfully from the safety of Tira's shoulder.
Hate you a million trillion times. Ugly nasty butt green, the salamandyr sneered. The green looked at her humanthing.
"You're very pretty," Tira said cheerfully. "Why don't you go take a look at Piden's new green salamandyr?" The firelizard trilled and leapt off of her woman to wing over to Piden. Tiramnet watched her go. With much ado and cheerful vocalizations, the green plopped down on the wherhandler's head and craned her neck to peer at baby Three. "Now," Tiramnet sighed, "What am I to do with you?"
Feed now, the bronze replied, at the same time Nikeath chimed in with Kill it. The woman suppressed a snicker.
"In due time," she informed her creatures.
Don't kill 'Rain! Don't feed it!! Tira actually did laugh this time, a chiming sound.
"Apologize to Tiny, and I will feed you," she said, refusing to bow to the tiny thing's will. The salamandyr growled. "It would make me very happy," Tira said, trying to lure good behavior. The suzerain looked contemplative.
Isapologizenow, he blurted out suddenly. Tiny looked up, flaring her wings and trilling. Tiramnet accepted it, and relinquished her hold on the baby salamandyr. He practically drooled out, tired from flailing and fighting. Immediately, the woman pulled out a meat treat from her pouch of firelizard goodies and shredded it, feeding the bronze. He attacked the food with vigor. Quite purposefully, Tira flooded the salamandyr with how proud and happy she was that he was being so well-behaved. With any luck, it would work -- most creatures responded well to firm discipline and adoration. Perhaps little suzerains would, as well.
((His name is Suzerain~ It means sovereign or monarch xD ))

Phremath's sleepy mindvoice brushed feather-light against the mind of Hers, laced with a contented delight. You have gotten us another little, KaliMine? I thought you didn't want any more...but I'm so glad you changed your mind. Let me see? The dragonhealer let Phremath borrow her eyes, the dragon's curiosity and delight growing. What is it? It looks a little like a Lust, but not. I think the salamandyrs may be mutating a bit. Well, whatever it is, she's mumanating into something adorable, Phremath commented around a wide yawn.
The 'adorable' green was in the process of building herself up into as intimidating a sight as she could manage, small chest puffed out, wings flared to fully display the crimson eyelets. She hissed loudly at the one approaching Hers, eyes quickly shading to a baleful red. Back. Mine. Back, she commanded, her forepaws raking the air in a clear rending motion. Kalierre crouched, tracing a finger down the spine of her new addition. "Calm, little Fury. She's brought you food. See? You should thank her." The red bled into a cautious yellow-orange, eyes not leaving Dorava. Is Mine slave? "Something like that. She's a friend. We don't hurt friends." The woman glanced up at the other greenrider, her smile a touch apologetic. "Fury's a bit protective. Thank you..."
After tasting part of the meat roll, her forelimbs wrapping around it in response to the wonderful taste as she attacked it vigorously (never removing her eyes from all the threats moving around the room), Fury echoed reluctantly, Thank. Kalierre remained in her crouch, a flicker of a smile coming over her lips as she nodded. "The Main Hall, the baths...seems the little monsters have figured out how to get people for their babies, whether the people want pets or not. Clever devils." Still tracing her finger over Fury's spine in a clear comforting gesture, she added, "These are so different from my Lust...the salamandyrs seem to be changing. I remember when they refused to Impress to anyone with other pets. Were you looking for a companion for Val?"
Speaking of the self-proclaimed Infirmary King, the male was quickly losing interest. Not in Piden, precisely, or even Shells. In fact, the other bronze's hasty escape caused him to preen slightly. Yes, yes, little baby. They all knew who was really king. But things were a little chaotic here, and another baby bronze was throwing up a less amusing fuss within easy hopping distance. The male had no patience for so many babies. This is why bronzes should stick to their Greenqueens...no little menaces to cause headaches. His new business partner of sorts was duly occupied with his own new attachment, so Lust ticked a claw on his forehead, before replying, Younglings need manners taught. Deal have we. Take youngling, feed, Lust talk SmellyShells' smart bonebag later, yes.
Thus said, the male leapt neatly from Piden's head, snapping his wings out in a glide that landed him on top of Dorava's shoulder. Now here was a salamandyr that didn't cause headaches. The bronze crooned quietly to Valiant in greeting. Bravenamed blue friend, how is? Careful much. LoveMine parasite got, nasty parasite think hurt Ours, bite hard. Careful much.

The Ruddy Copper Green and Clouded Sulphur Blue continued to stare at each other for another minute or two. The spell was broken as the Clouded Sulphur Blue stretched forward to presumably sniff his smaller sister. In the blink of an eye the odd looking green gave a shriek and slashed out at her brother with twisted talons. The Clouded Sulphur Blue gave a creel in response and backed up and away from the Ruddy Copper Green bumping into the, as of yet, unhatched White Peacock Egg. It seemed this little push was all the remaining egg needed, for after falling over on it’s side it shattered revealing a sandy colored brown that rolled to his feet and tilted his head at his siblings. The Ruddy Copper Green pursued the Clouded Sulphur Blue across the table, snapping at the end of his tail in fury.
Die. Maul. Bleed. She chorused chasing him until she suddenly just stopped ad stood still as if froze in place. The Clouded Sulphur Blue however didn’t stop when his sister did. Instead he took to wing, creeling his upset. He had only wanted to say hi. What was wrong with that? What was his sisters problem? Angling his wings he dropped right unto Tenlie’s plate. Looking up at her with adoring eyes he gave a soft croon his tail coiling around the woman’s finger. Food? Food and safety. Yes. This one would do nicely.
The Ruddy Copper Green seemed to slowly come out of her daze and gave a soft croon. Oh dear. How did she get all the way out here. Looking over at her golden mother she gave a pleasant chirp. Hello. Scrambling over to Harmony she rubbed her little body against her dam’s legs before scampering off to find hers. Leaping off the edge of the table she latched onto Dorava’s pants. Climbing up this veritable mountain she finally made it to the woman’s chest. Stilling upon it she frilled her little twisted head spines. Hello Love. Hungry. Yums now? Flicking her spines once she tilted her head at Valiant and then turned it back to Dorava. Surely the blue didn’t mind sharing and look what a lovely bronze that was.
Harmony gave a soft snort and turned to her last remaining offspring. Little one find yours yes? She asked sweetly her voice betraying just the faintest impatience. She could use a nap and some good food after this. The White Peacock Brown shook from head to tail and jumped from the nest. Slowly he scampered down the table not in a hurry at all. Ever so often he paused to tilt his head at one person or another. Nope. Nope. Nope. Maybe? Nope. Hmmm. Ah there she was. Leaping from the table he glided over to his chosen and scrambled up her shirt until he could perch on her shoulder. Reaching forward he examined the necklace she was wearing. Oh ho. What here? How lovely! Pretty. He said happily licking Karou’s neck in his exuberance. The grumbling of his belly however took his attention momentarily away from the pretty necklace. Foods? He asked her hopefully little eyes still whilring the rainbow of impression.
Last baby safely impressed Harmony gave a happy trill and waddled over to where her bonded was peeking over the edge of the table. Silly Mori. Why hide? Angel so hungry. Feed now? The Bronze handler gave a wide relieved grin and reached over to grab the chest from the table. Ick what a mess. Now he was going to have to start all over with his collection. Sigh. The gold looked up at her bonded and huffed. “Oh right.” Darmori said sheepishly as he reached down and offered her his arm. Hopefully Hoayamae wouldn’t be to ticked at him for creating chaos in her main hall….

Clouded Sulphur Blue Name: Impressed to: Tenlie Color: 00C7C7 blue Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
This blue is far from typical in appearance. He will be extremely large for a blue mandyr, averaging about brown size with the musculature to match. If not for his coloration he would surely be mistaken for a brown. Heavy muscle is prominent under his soft hide and he is fond of flexing this muscle to show it off. His muscular body is offset by his abnormally long tail and large wings. His tail, in fact, is easily three times the length of his body. It tapers off to whip thin and he will be fond of using it to pick up and move things as well as coiling it around anything he can, especially his bonded. His wings are easily large enough to support him in limited flight and he will be able to chase the firelizards he seems to adore with ease. Ringing his head are the same bony protrusions the rest of the clutch seems to sport instead of the traditional frill. His particular spines being like his mothers large and sharp easily able to cause damage if he is not careful with them.
His coloration is best described as the same shade of the sky on a hot cloudless day. A bright sky blue. The only other marking on his body breaking the shade some in the form of twin rows of navy spots. These spots run from the base of his head to the tip of his tail. The membranes of his wings are just a shade lighter than his body and sport twin eye markings like the rest of the clutch. One on each wing. His particular marking made up of a white iris ringing a red pupil.
Personality:
This large mandyr seems to have picked up the temperament of his mother without her customary rages. He is sweet tempered, patient loving and anger seems to be a foreign concept to him. Probably good considering he probably would be able to do some damage to another if he tried. Unfortunately this blue is not very intelligent. He understands most simple concepts but anything even mildly complicated he just doesn’t get. Fetching things he can do well. Delivering messages or asking him to do anything even remotely that difficult is an exercise in futility. He understands emotions well, enough even if he doesn’t quite get what caused them in the first place, and he is unfortunately easy to confuse. His will have to be very clear and precise when speaking to this blue. Perhaps relating to his low intelligence this blue is also not very wordy. In fact his vocabulary is likely to span not more than ten words. He simply has trouble in that area. Besides why should he speak when a croon, chrip or gesture serves the same purpose?
One thing this mandyr seems to adore and love above all else is firelizards. He is simply enamored with the creatures. Other draconics are noted, spoken to, and interacted with of course, with no prejudice to be noted. However it is firelizards that apparently hold his heart. He will immediately become boisterous and friendly around them in an attempt to converse and interact with his winged cousins. No will simply not be taken for an answer and it will not be uncommon for him to tail a firelizard he has taken a particular interest in. The blue will be a frequent participant in any firelizard flight from green to gold and his bonded can be expected to go along for the ride until they learn to block him out. Should he ever manage to catch a firelizard he will not remain faithful sadly. However he will still shower his beloveds with gifts and praise in an attempt to keep their favor. Should she pick another next flight he is non pulsed. Plenty of fish in the sea (or in this case sky) after all.

Ruddy Copper Green Name: Impressed to: Dorava Color: 009158 green Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
This green is best described as simply sickly looking. Ribs can be clearly seem through her dull hide and her limbs and tail are pencil thin. Her wings even seem to look battered. The membrane between them being naturally tattered looking on the edges. They will enable her to fly but she will be subject to the whims of the wind not having the musculature to control her own flight. Despite looking weak however she seems to be perfectly capable of making her way around and quite quickly to. Her hide is stretched tight across her skull giving her face a skeletal appearance that is only enhanced by her large bulging eyes. The spines behind her head lack and frill and are twisted and a few even curl to the side or backwards making the halo ringing her head also look sickly and wrong. Her claws as well twist and bend in odd ways no matter how often they are trimmed they simply seem to brown like that. All in all she presents a very hideous picture in the looks department.
Her saving grace as far as looks go probably is her color. Her hide is a rich glossy teal color which is completely at odds with her other strange looking physical characteristics. The other seems to shimmer when the sun hits it. The rich greenish teal darkens at her under belly and upon her wing membranes. Twin rows of pretty yellow green spots line her back to tail tip running along her spine. Upon each wing is an eyelet marking. Her particular marking a vivid yellow bordered in sea foam green. Personality:
This green’s personality is perhaps as odd as her appearance. It is almost as if two mandyrs inhabit the same body. Split personalities might be the best way to describe it. Normally this green can be sweet and loving. The perfect model of a friend. Loving to everything and everyone and eloquent and polite in speech. Her movements at these times will be light and playful. Then in perhaps the next hour or maybe even the next minute at a flip of a switch it turns. She goes from being an angel to raging demon. Her sweet happy voice and mannerisms die to be replaced with a violent, nasty, harsh, nearly impossible to reason with creature. Her verbalizations also change. Her voice going mean and harsh and her verbal abilities going from eloquent to simply lacking. In this mode she will lash out with nearly no provocation. Her temper will be short and she will be just as content to sink her claws into hers as another. These bouts of personality change are always followed by a sort of blackout period where she simply ceases to move for a few moments before leaping back to her normal sweet personality. She sadly does not even remember anything about her violent episodes and will be upset and confused if her bonded ever brings them up. Can’t hers see that she is just the sweetest thing ever? She would never do something that horrible.
As far as other draconics go she is unbiased. Completely willing to speak and interact with both firelizards and mandyrs. In her nasty rages however no one is safe. Certainly not them and maybe even not hers. In matters of speaking she is obviously intelligent but not as loud as some mandyrs. Her verbalizations are kept short and sweet but she is adept at picking words out of her bonded’s mind as needed. Stringing them together into coherent sentences will take some practice but she sure tries her hardest to be understandable. As far as mating goes she will run like any other green. However she will never choose a permanent mate for some reason. It is as if she simply can not make up her mind. Or is it minds?

White Peacock Brown Name: Impressed to: Karou Color: C7AC90 Brown Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
This brown is about average in size for his color. Proportionately he seems normal until you get to his wings. They are positively massive. Looking as if they should belong to a creature twice his size. However unlike his mother he has the musculature to pull off flight with such large appendages. Even if high wind will undoubtedly give him trouble. Due to his large wings flying will be his only mode of transport waking being literally impossible for him. This male will rest by clinging to her bonded or some other object and curling upon it or about it to sleep. Like his siblings the spines ringing his neck are devoid of a frill. However they are a ebon black color and seem to gleam when the light touches them. He will be fond of displaying these spines thinking them quite attractive indeed.
This brown doesn’t even really have the benefit of a handsome color. In fact his hide is pretty much exactly the color of beach sand. The uniform color is broken up by swirls and eddies of a chocolate shade. It almost looks as if someone had inked small vines and swirling patterns over his hide. These ‘vines’ and off shooting swirls travel from his nose tip over his back to wind down his legs to swirl around his tail. His belly being devoid of the chocolate shade being uniform sandy colored. His wing membranes are the same dark chocolate and sport double eyelet markings. His particular markings being almost washed out in color and comprised of a black pupil with a yellow iris ringing it. These markings will also often be flashed solely because he is constantly flying. Which is good for him since most darters will be put off by the strange eye markings.
Personality:
This mandyr isn’t a possessive or clingy sort at all. He prefers to do his own thing and return home for attention and food. His adventures all have a purpose however. You see he is looking for the perfect mate. Unfortunately he seems to be rather confused in that area. Other draconics are completely ignored. In fact his adoration goes to the inanimate objects of the weyr. That’s right. Cups, goblets, peoples clothes, you name it. Anything that for whatever reason strikes his fancy. This mandyr will violently claim such objects. Curling around them to whisper loving words and profess undying devotion. Thankfully he has a very short term memory and frequently falls in love with new objects. Strangely enough it seems as if he thinks he understands these objects. For as many as he claims it also seems as if he can be ‘rejected’ as well. If something ‘rejects’ him he will give a creel of despair and fall into a depression. These depression culminate in clinging to his for comfort and outright refusing to eat. Fortunately for his bonded these depressions can be quickly cured by an offer of a bath. Swimming is the only thing this brown seems to like more than flying and he is good at it as well. Probably because of his over large wings. Where most mandyrs will avoid water like the plague this mandyr adores it. However he will only swim in bathing pools and if the water is warm. The presence of his is also required as well. He will strangely never swim on his own.
For all his quirks and oddities this mandyr does love his bonded. He just kind of conveniently forgets he has one until they are needed. As far as his speech goes it is nothing special. He will frequently mispronounce words or use the wrong one in a situation. It is not that he is unintelligent he just simply does not care to make sense half the time. The only time he ever seems to make sense in fact is when he is speaking to his or one of his ‘mates’. His vocabulary will be about average for a brown and the word love will be a frequent favorite of his. Unsurprisingly if he wins of any runs the female will be forgotten as soon as the deed is done. He seems to almost have blackouts regarding these runs even happened in the first place and any female that seeks to give him attention will be ignored as long as she is not in run lust. Apparently creatures with souls are highly unattractive. Who knew?

Jazheera grinned at her roommate. Was that term even appropriate anymore? Friend seemed to fit better these days. They hadn't had all that much interaction besides in class up until they met by chance on a break. They'd talked a while and gotten to know each other a little better. Dhavalth and Rajnith got along well, too, so it only helped the two weyrlings get along. "Oh yes, very classy." There was a momentary lull and she listened to the sounds the hatchlings were making before Tenlie spoke again. "Yeah. I've heard they can be little terrors. I'm glad that we-" she trailed off suddenly when a mind clung onto hers and she was suddenly very sure her brother was going to hurt her.
M'ta wouldn't hurt her. Jazz was certain of that. Or, to be more precise, he wouldn't intentionally hurt her. He spooked rather easily sometimes. It wasn't Dhavalth either. She had grown accustomed to his mind and she knew it wasn't him. There was some concern radiating over their bond but it certainly wasn't fear. Her head reeled and then she felt something crawling up her shirt. Oh no. Oh no no no. She'd Impressed a 'mandyr? How, why? She ought to have been far enough away that hungry little hatchlings wouldn't have bothered to...well, bother her. At the creature's 'mama' Jazz's heart melted and she sighed.
Safe. She was safe. Jazz supposed that meant the little green (really? it looked more like a white!) felt safe with her. Tenlie's words brought both of them surprise and the blueweyrling blinked, trying to gather just her thoughts. "Mine? Yeah, I guess so." Jazz felt no fear of Tenlie. Just the little green's curiosity and wariness. This one didn't seem to want to hurt her. She made such a comforting sound, after all. The green crawled a little further out of the collar of Jazz's shirt and peered at Tenlie. No? The tone was clearly curious and meant something very different than the word.
Jazz felt the green's panic slowly switch over to the typical just-hatched-hunger. She tore a piece of meat off her food and ripped that into even smaller pieces while the green remained distracted by Tenlie. When the pieces seemed small enough, the blueweyrling gently grabbed the green and placed her on the table. "Here you go little one. Open up," she coaxed the green. When the green did open her mouth Jazz frowned. Well that was...different. "Hey Ten, what do I do? How should I...?" She moved her hand away from the green's mouth so Tenlie could see better.
((Her name is Tod~))

Seeing the rather aggressive stance of the little creature at Kali's feet, Dorava slowed her movements to almost nill. Must not alarm the thing, even if it looked deformed. "Easy there, lil gal." She soothed in a gentle voice. "You're safe." Dorava smiled briefly at Kalierre, especially so at hearing Kali call her a friend. She knew it already, sure, but it still sounded good. "Fury, huh? Sounds like it fits her really well. But no ... I didn't come looking for a new pet. Faranth knows I've got plenty that are already hard enough to keep in order. But Val wanted to see, and I can only tell him no so many times, the poor thing. You know?" Dorava answered. "So I indulged him his whim, such as it was. Couldn't exactly leave him here and move off again, someone would step on him and finish him off if I did." She shrugged a bit.
Only to nearly jump clear out of her pants when something latched onto them. "Shards and shells!!" She squeaked, staring wide-eyed at the creature that had climbed her all the way to her shirt front. Where now there was an emaciated looking thing hanging. Val chirped, looking at the green that hung there. She knew without even looking that it had impressed to her. At least it seemed sweet enough! Dorava had completely missed the little she-demon's earlier outburst, having been focused on Kali's new pet.
"Uh ... Kali? This one looks ... really sick." She pointed out, before reaching up to gently scoop the scrawny thing up into a hand.
Lust pretty! Val greeted, no where near as eloquent as the bronze was. It had taken him many a turn to get to the oh-about-twenty-word vocabulary that he currently had. Kair-full? he asked, sounding out the new word thoughtfully. Not-pretty baby visit! Not pretty, see? No? No! Val see. Lust see? he encouraged, wriggling excitedly. Or at least the parts that were still capable of wriggling. The rest of him just dangled limply and more or less kept him from dumping completely out of Dorava's collar.
"Oh, hello Lust." Dorava said, scooping him up with the other hand. "I think I'm becoming a madyr-tree?"
The little green leaned over and sniffed Val's nose, then turned and sniffed Lust's nose too. Nice, but not yums. Want yums. She reminded, gently, not at all concerned about including the two males in her conversation. She really was hungry.
"Oh, yes. Um. Kali? Can I have a scrap of that roll back, please?" Dorava asked, a touch embarrassed at having to ask for some of the gift to be returned. Oh well ... it wasn't like any team of baby mandyrs could eat an entire meat roll. That would be a feat! Seeing how most rolls tended to by far out-mass most mandyrs by far. Not that she could take it if Kali did offer it back ... both hands were full of mandyrs. People were going to start thinking she owned this many mandyrs! Which was most definitely not the case!
Yes love. Please. the little baby encouraged, looking to Kali now that she had figured out where exactly the food was being hidden!! Hurry please! Much yums, needed must. Hungry. she reminded.
"Yes, love. Be patient, you can't rush people." Dorava echoed, trying to keep the little baby from freaking out too quickly. Thankfully, she didn't seem to me.
Love hungry. Came the reply.
Only then did Dorava realize that she'd either inadvertently named the scrawy bit "Love", or the said scrawny bit had randomly decided to call herself that. Dorava merely heaved a sigh.
Oh woe, the twists of life.

The green lashed out at the blue, causing Karou's eyebrows to raise. Interesting. Who knew that these creatures could be anything besides obnoxious and weird? Of course, the green proved herself obnoxious and weird by immediately changing into a sweet thing. Weird, certainly, but obnoxious? Yes, sweet was very obnoxious. Thank Faranth she'd never get one! She was quite amused, to say the least. The bronze seemed to be her favorite, as he was quite the little demon. He threw a fit and demanded. Karou smiled. She'd feel sorry for the girl, if there was an ounce of pity in her body.
After the blue had chosen, the green rushed to Impress. The green came her way, so as a precaution Karou stepped back. Ugly, crazy salamandyrs! She turned her attention to the last hatched one. He didn't seem particularly evil, and therefore of no amusement to the candidate. Before she could leave, however, the brown launched himself at her.
He clung to her shirt, crawling up to perch on her shoulder. He looked at her necklace strangely. Pretty. As the mind bonded with hers (much to Karou's dismay) the strange creature licked her neck. Foods? he asked. Oh, no no no. She didn't get one of these! Why? He was ugly, just like all salamandyrs. His coloring especially--a pale sandy color with darker markings--left her somewhat repulsed. She didn't want one of these! Couldn't she give it back? But...
As she looked into those whirling rainbow eyes, she knew she didn't want to. While she hated the gross creature, somehow she still loved her sweet pet. She grumbled to herself. She didn't want him, but she was stuck with him. Might as well feed him. She boredly offered him remains of her meal, which he ate up quite happily. Content, the brown turned his attention back to her necklace. Hi, pretty. Like? She wasn't exactly sure what he was saying, but it sounded like...
"Are you hitting on my necklace?"
No hit! Name Nekliss? The creature made a soft purring noise. Hi, Nekliss. Karou sighed. Did she have to be so literal with these things? Obviously he wasn't stupid enough to think the necklace was alive, was he? What name? Nekliss ask name. Karou blinked. "My name?" No, know Karou. Me. Karou sighed. This thing wanted a name? What was she supposed to name him? Idiot? Moron? Deadglow? What did people name these things? Dedglu good name. Karou slapped her head. "Not Dedglu. Deadglow. As in, dead and glow. I think I'll call you that. You're rather dull."
Deadglow not dull, no like sense. Words dull. Fix, see!
