Gold Harmony and Bronze Imp Proudly Present The Flutterby Clutch Black Swallowtail Egg This large egg sits beside the Blue Morphos Egg. Almost identical in size to it’s sibling the Black Swallowtail egg is mostly completely a glossy black. Around the bottom edges of the egg however are spots in varying sizes. The first row of spots is a vibrant yellow followed by spots of a bright iridescent blue before the yellow picks up again at the very bottom of the egg. Each row of spots is complete symmetrical as if someone took a paintbrush and very painstakingly dotted them on the shiny black shell. One reddish orange spot sits at the very bottom of the egg and is unnoticeable unless Harmony is in the process of turning that particular egg. Cabbage White Egg One of the plainer looking eggs in the clutch the Cabbage White egg sits right beside the Clouded Sulphur egg. In fact the two look to be nearly identical in size and shape. The only distinction in fact you can make between the two eggs is the base color of the shell. Otherwise they could be identical twins. About midsized and perfectly oval this egg is a stunning bright white shade, the color only broken by an expanse of black that coats the bottom part of the shell. Smack dap in the middle of the shell is a small perfectly round black dot. Clouded Sulphur Egg Like it’s sibling the Cabbage white egg the Clouded Sulphur egg won’t win any prizes for uniqueness. This egg sits right directly beside the Cabbage White egg. In fact the two look to be nearly identical in size and shape. The only distinction in fact you can make between the two eggs is the base color of the shell. About midsized and perfectly oval this egg is a vibrant sunny yellow shade, the color only broken by an expanse of black that coats the bottom part of the shell. Smack dap in the middle of the shell is a small perfectly round black dot. Ruddy Copper Egg The Ruddy Copper egg is perhaps one of the brightest colored eggs in the clutch. On the smaller side of the size scale it sits in the shadow of the Monarch Egg. A bright burnt orange color it is almost a crimson orange on top and lightens as it flows into the bottom of the egg. Interdispersed along the eggs length are small stripes of a dark brown shade. These stripes blend into the color of the egg and are near unnoticeable unless you examine the egg very closely. Blue Metalmark Egg The Blue Metalmark is actually one of the largest eggs in the clutch. About the same size as the Black Swallowtail egg it sits ostracized from the rest of it’s clutch siblings. It as if Harmony promptly forgot about it once it was laid. Out of all the eggs it is paid the least attention. The only other egg that is as ignored as much is the Zebra Swallowtail egg. In shape it is odd being almost oblong in appearance and having almost no roundness to it. In color however it is simply stunning. The whole egg is a iridescent blue that actually seems to shimmer as the light hits it. Looking closely at the egg you will see the bright blue color is made by overlapping ‘scales’ of different shades of blue. White Peacock Egg The White Peacock egg is about medium size and sits directly behind the bigger Blue Morphos egg. This egg is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the clutch. Although the colors on it couldn’t be considered bright they are entirely complementary. Upon a white base are speckled parallel rows of spots. Starting with a light tan and then darkening in browns until it reaches black. Upon reaching black the pattern begins again only backwards. Going from black to white. This pattern of coloring begins again and again spanning the entire shell and appearing completely symmetrical. Monarch Egg The Monarch egg is the largest egg in the clutch and is positioned to the forefront of all the others. Very much the crowning centerpiece of the clutch. Harmony pays much attention to this egg and is constantly turning or prodding at it as if making sure it is okay. The base of the shell is made up of a brilliant orange color. Starting at the top of the egg and flowing to the base are lines of an almost iridescent looking black. These black ‘veins’ appear in varying thickness and position and end at the bottom of the egg where a row of white spots breaks up the black. Blue Morphos Egg The Blue Morphos egg is the second largest egg in the clutch beaten out for title of biggest only by the Monarch egg. It could undoubtedly be considered one of the most beautiful eggs in the clutch however. Positioned just to the left of the Monarch egg it sits beside the Mourning Cloak egg. The base of this shell is a brilliant iridescent black. The black fades into a shocking electric blue the color continuing upwards and darkening slightly until it turns into a dark near navy and finally to black near the top. This shell actually seems to glow it is so bright and Harmony can often be seen chasing enterprising shiny hunters away from this particular egg. Regal Fritillary Egg The Regal Fritillary Egg is one of the smallest eggs in the clutch. In fact you could probably miss it if you didn’t look hard enough considering it sits in the shadow of the bigger Morning Cloak egg. This tiny egg is actually quite pretty. It is a shame it is so overlooked. The orange and black theme of some of it’s siblings seems to continue with this egg. The top half of the shell is a brilliant orange which contains stripes of black in rows of parallel spotting. These stripes run throughout the orange and bleed the lower half of the egg. The bottom half of the shell is, in fact, a dark black speckled with symmetrical rows of white spots. Rosita Patch Egg The Rosita patch egg sits grouped with the Ruddy Copper Egg. It is one of the medium sized eggs in the clutch and looks round much like a ping pong ball. The base color of the egg is a pure black. The color spans the shell from top to bottom and is broken up by speckles of white that look almost as if someone took a paintbrush and flicked paint on the shell. The only other marking comes in the form of one large orange red spot that sits smack dab in the middle of the shell. Mourning Cloak Egg The Morning Cloak egg is one of the darker eggs in the clutch. Unlike it’s brighter clutch siblings this egg is quite melancholy. The majority of the shell is made up of a dark chocolate brown. This color spans most of the shell before darkening into a black near the bottom and top of the shell. Small blue spots run inside the back stripe speckling it with a small amount of bright color. The top most and bottom most parts of the shell are a soft yellow color. Perhaps because of it’s largish size and frontward’s positioning this egg is one of the eggs Harmony pays the most attention to frequently turning and caressing it. Zebra Swallowtail Egg The Zebra Swallowtail egg is not doubt the smallest egg in the clutch. It sits behind the rest of the clutch as if forgotten. Upon laying Harmony has neglected to pay it any attention at all and one has to wonder if this egg is a dud. She certainly seems very unconcerned about the tiny thing. The Zebra swallowtail egg is actually a pretty dull egg and is likely not to get much attention even if it is noticed. Mainly a pale white color it the paleness of the shell is broken up by varying stripes of a blackish grey color. Theses stripes run from the poll of the egg to the base of it where they are met with the only slightly bright color this egg possesses. Upon the bottom of this egg are small spots of blue and red almost completely unnoticeable due to their position on the very bottom of the shell.

With a bouncy gait Darmosk bounced and hopped ahead of his bonded, occasionally looking back and giving a soft whine or bark. Hurry. They must hurry. The babies where ready to hatch. Sister had said so and look! Look! Some of the eggs where rocking pretty hard now. Hurry his. Hurrrrrrry. The bronze bounded forward a few more steps before stopping outside the stone hallway that led to the main hall.
It was exactly time for dinner for the riders and breakfast for the handlers. That crowded time when the main hall contained the most people. Lucky babies. They would have many choices. The lights prevented the bronze wher from going any further but he gave his gold sister best wishes and his bonded a happy lick. He would see them soon yes. Keep him posted on how the babies did. Darmori gave a nervous pat the head of his bronze before tucking his pretty wooden chest under his arm and proceeding to ignore the unhappy complaints Harmony shot his way. Too bouncy. Slower. Babies rock to much. Slow please. The large gold snapped as she routed around in his precious ‘collection’.
Yes, his lovely angel had decided to clutch in the most awkward of places. The pretty chest where he kept his collection of hair. The lovely strands of braided hair where now being used as nesting material for a clutch of mandyrs. Oh Darmori had begged and pleaded with Harmony to move them. Offered her better spots. But no. The gold had refused to move her clutch. She had even bit him quite severely when he had tried to touch one of the eggs. Since then she had refused to let him touch any of her precious babies. Even going as far as sleeping curled around them with her wings outstretched over the eggs and refusing to move for anything. Not even to eat. Darmosk had been quite sympathetic, guarding them when she utterly had no choice but to leave them for a minute or two, and bringing her food from his own meals. The two had grown closer in his time and Harmony had welcomed the help immensely. Darmori was the one on the outs and he was not liking it. Not at all.
Upon gaining entrance to the packed dining hall the bronze wherling wasted no time. Making his way quickly to the center of the room he placed the chest containing both gold mandyr and rocking eggs on the table. Some curious riders, taking their meal there, took one look at the contents of the chest and promptly cleared the table to head for the hills. Well that was one way to clear a room. Mandyr eggs. Like miniature ticking time bombs they sat while Harmony worried over them making sure each egg made the trip safely and without harm. Seemingly satisfied she snorted softly and extended one wing to gesture hers closer. He could watch. Help protect.
Pulling herself up to her full height Harmony outstretched her pale overlarge wings and broadcasted to the entire room. Harmony and Imp love babies hatch. Come now fast. Hurry hurry, babies not wait forever. Pretty babies. Must Welcome. Must love muchly. As if in response to her words the eggs started rocking with renewed vigor the Black Swallowtail Egg and Ruddy Copper Egg already sporting a thin spider webbing of cracks on their previously smooth shells.

“You’re not supposed to be in the Main Hall.”
But VixLove, she liked it here, liked being able to touch him, and it wasn’t like anyone else could see her anyway. A tongue rasped against the flat of his palm, and Vix twitched his hand away from the green with a faint scowl. Part of him wanted to shove Tekivisk out from under the table, but somehow, he doubted that anybody would really care that he’d brought a wher in here – no. Correction: That she’d followed him in there. And had decided that curling up half under his chair and half under the actual table was perfectly okay and acceptable.
“Someone’s going to step on you,” he hissed under his breath, hiding the words by lifting up the meat pie and taking a bite, swallowing before he went on. “Then you’ll whine and I’m not going to take you to the Infirmary. Like, seriously – I just got out of the Infirmary, did you see my hand – ” The hand in question set down the meat pie and waved around under the table in front of Tekivisk’s nose for emphasis, earning only a swipe of the green wher’s tongue across his palm before a warm breath huffed across his thigh and she nuzzled her head against his leg.
“I hate you,” Vix sighed, resignedly rubbing her on the nose. “A lot. There aren’t enough words in the entire Pernese language to describe how little I want to have you under my chair at this moment in time.” All he got for his trouble was another nuzzle and a content little purr and hopefully nobody was close enough to hear and think his lap was purring. That would…yeah, that’d be a little more than awkward.
As it was, Tekivisk’s position with her head in his lap resulted in a sharp rap to her head when Vix jumped at the sound of a worm’s voice in his mind. She keened quietly, flailing her wings slightly, but Vix was already shooting a look that equated to something near horror in the direction of his roommate and his stupid little golden worm. Babies – what – babies. Ugh. He made an abortive gesture as to push his chair back out from the table, planning to flee, but Tekivisk’s upset at the pain had vanished, replaced by interest in the clutch. She crawled half into his lap, pinning him there very effectively, blindfolded against the lights, turning her head, trying to catch…anything.
“Off of me,” Vix snapped, and he actually meant it, too – he was trying to get away, even if it meant ditching his food. Ugh. Just – “’ki, I’m serious, get the – ” It just degenerated into hissed swearing from there, but Tekivisk was already very good at ignoring him…she merely licked across his face, snuggling her head into his chest, and hummed cheerfully. Hatching!

Nabrik practically dropped the dish he was supposed to be washing and ran for the kitchen entrance to the Main Hall. Only one thing talked in his head like that. It had to be the talking lizards! Salamandyrs, he'd been told they were called, but who needed such a long, boring word. They were lizards and they talked, enough said. This one had mentioned babies and he wasn't going to miss this for a month of chores! Unfortunately, he had a rather large obstacle in his way.
"Where do yah think yer going, young man!" Nabrik yelped as Hoayamae grabbed his ear. Young people these days thought they could get away with anything. "Did I say yer were done?" Nabrik tried to pull himself free and glared up at her. It was like a mouse trying to stare down a lioness. "You ain't my boss!" he huffed loudly. "I wanna see the talking lizard eggs!" Mae's eyes narrowed. She had heard something a moment ago, but she tended to ignore salamandyr talk as nonsense. "What's this now?"
Pulling the boy with her, the old cook stormed into the Main Hall. It was a hatching! And it was in the Main Hall, again! What was it with these queens and their owners? Were they trying to create chaos. Letting go of Nabrik, Mae waved her soup ladle high in a threatening manor. "Who brought those eggs?!" she shouted above the din. "THIS IS A DINING HALL, NOT A HATCHING GROUND!"
Free from his captor, Nabrik slipped away into the crowd. One advantage to being so small, it was easy to sneak underneath tables. In no time, he had found the one Darmori had placed the box on and popped his head up. From here he could see Harmony, but he was too short to see the eggs in the box. Harmony had to be the biggest salamandyr he had ever seen. His would be bigger, of course. With a mischievous grin, Nabrik stalked the hatching. No one was going to stop him from impressing one of these. Just let them try.

Hungry.
Kostya rolled over, pulling his pillow over his head in a poor attempt to muffle out the intruding voice in his mind. Konstask didn't care the the time – as her rider firmly tried to state to that he wasn't a 'morning person', which mean for some reason he slept in the hours when they should be waking. She could smell dinner, though, thus it meant it was time to eat. Go get her food. Now.
"Bpph uff," Kostya swatted lazily at the open side of his cot where he could sense his little green staring at him. Then, despite being unable to see her, Kostya felt her chest swelling up and the beginnings of a tantrum stirring in his mind. He was out of bed in a flash with both hands clamping around her muzzle to prevent her from howling.
"Sweetheart," He said calmly enough. Pale blue eyes nothing but cold as he regarded her with near contempt. Still managing a whine, Konstask attempted to pull away from his grip. He gave her a good shove, sending the little wher onto her rump before he stood. "You know I hate it when you do that in this little room. Probably why you do it."
A light sneer curled along his top lip before he masked his annoyance, threw on a shirt and instructed his wher to stay in the room while he went to the kitchen to get them both some breakfast. It was still too light out for her eyes, and he really did not have the patience to lead her blinded self around. Too early in the night to deal with that. No, no, she could stay behind like a princess and let the food be served to her.
Stepping into the dining hall, Kostya head right toward the food. Cursing caught his attention, but the other green wherling only earned a side-long glance as the blond moved along. Harmony's message went ignored (noisy pests were always in the kitchens ranting about something). Though if he had been more aware of what was going on – other than silently stringing together his own curses in his thoughts – Kostya would have vacated the area with the rest of the people. Did not want another leech. Calamari was annoying enough and that belonged to Marsayis, not him.
Now a ladle wielding cook was yelling. Kostya winced, lifting a hand to his temple to rub at the beginnings of a headache. It was going to be a long night..

Jazheera was a small woman but she could eat a lot. A lot of it had to do with how active she kept herself. She was awake long before most of the weyrlings every day, practicing until Dhavalth woke up. Then her blue needed feeding and oiling before lessons and chores to do afterwards. That occupied a fair amount of her time. She set aside time for Dhavalth for just chilling as it got later and fed and oiled him as he needed. So perhaps it wasn't so unreasonable that she ate more than anyone expected of her.
A sudden commotion caught her attention and she glanced up and away from her food to see what it was. Huh. Hatching eggs? She had enough to do with just Dhavalth. She had no interest in a firelizard or a salamandyr. She could have left like some of the smarter riders had just done but...she was still hungry, shard it! She stubbornly put a forkful of food in her mouth and chewed as she watched a cook come out and start yelling. It wasn't that big of a deal. They'd be coming to the main hall after they hatched anyways. Actually, it was a smart way to snag as many possible candidates for the eggs.
In the back of her mind she felt Dhavalth chatting to some sibling of his and gently inserted the idea that the people in the main hall were being silly. Jazz was very bad at keeping her opinion to herself. Dhavalth was a convenient outlet if she had no one to talk to. He always listened, even if only with part of his mind. He paused his rhyming (or not so rhyming in some cases) conversation with his sibling to more or less tell him that it was rude to think so, and even ruder to talk about them behind their backs. She sighed. Yeah, yeah, she knew that already. Nag.
Jazz turned her attention back to the room and caught sight of a familiar face. If it wasn't the ogler! She didn't know his name...or if she did she'd forgotten it. The hatching seemed so long ago already and she hadn't seen him since so it was easy to forget if she had learned his name or not. Oh well. She didn't call out to him or wave or anything. She settled for watching him discreetly, curiously. He'd made a bit of an impression on her, Kostya had. It was one of those feelings of wanting to get to know someone just because. Yeah, it didn't make much sense to her either. She looked among the other faces present. Maybe the other interesting one was around too?

Harmony fluttered her wings for a moment and then snapped them to a close. Whirling green eyes examined the few humans who seemed content to watch. The large gold was mildly irked that so far not many had shown much interest in her offspring. That would have to be remedied. With a flick of her tail she turned back to her clutch and hummed low in her throat. Harmony reached the clutch just as the Black Swallowtail Egg exploded in a rain of egg shards.
The chubby purplish hued Black Swallowtail Blue blinked up at the world from his sprawled position. Oh dear that was a rather bad entrance wasn’t it? A soft croon left his throat as he rolled to his feet. A quick glace was give to his mother who shuffled over to examine him briefly. Hi hi! He said sweetly to the large gold before flicking his wet wings displaying the odd eyelet markings on each membrane and waddling across the table. Cocking his head he gave a trill. Starving he was. Oh so very hungry. Now what? He needed someone to feed him obviously.
Wide eyes examined the tables close by and hinged on a possible mind. He seemed like he could use a bit of sweetness. With a soft chirp the tubby little mandyr waddled to the end of the table and flung himself off it. Tiny wings beating hard he…..dropped like a rock and landed right on Nabrik’s head. Oopsie. The Black Swallowtail Blue gave a soft sorry before leaping to the next table. Landing with a thump and rolling across it he literally half skipped half bounced over to Tikivix. Yum Yums? He said enthusiastically before leaping for the boy and griping his shirt tightly with small claws. Clambering up the wherling’s arm he rubbed his tiny wet head against the side of the boy’s neck. Oh yes this one would do nicely. Food now please? His belly was so terribly achy. And oh hi. Who was this? Hi hi. The little mandyr offered to Tekivisk. He hadn’t seen her there. Was that pie?
Harmony watched the impression of her first baby with an unreadable expression turning back to the clutch and tapping her claw against the Blue Morphos Egg. Almost there. However it was not the Blue Morphos Egg or even the Ruddy Copper Egg that was the next to hatch. From the clutch came a sharp crack and a hiss, a green muzzle poking out from the top of the Cabbage White Egg. A sharp snort was given before the muzzle withdrew again. Darmori sank down below the table top, like the mandyr had her egg, as Hoayamae appeared form the kitchen waving a ladle. Oh Faranth. This was not good. Maybe if he hid down here no one would see him and he could get out of this with no bruises. Blinking he stared over the table top at Harmony. Come on babies hurry up.

Name: Black Swallowtail Blue Impressed to: Tekivix Color: 330979 blue Age: Hatchling Appearance :
This blue can probably be best described as adorable. He has a chubby round body and every part of him seems to be just as soft ,round, and huggable looking. You couldn’t quite call him fat but nor is he skinny. Big boned might be an accurate description for him. Or maybe tubby. His nose is slightly turned up at the end and he has wide innocent looking eyes. His belly seems to jiggle as he literally bounces around and he seems to have a permanent mandyr smile on his little face. The spines ringing his head are thick and somehow soft looking, certainly not dangerous in the least. He still has the same lack of frill his siblings all display. His feet however seem overly large and it is a wonder he doesn’t trip over them. In fact he is surprising light on his feet for being such a big guy. His wings sadly are far to small for his body. They are clearly more for show than actual flight. He will sadly be unable to either glide or fly but that seems to be perfectly okay with him.
The color of his hide is a rich purple blue. Similar to the color of a blueberry. It isn’t a particularly unattractive shade but nor is it really remarkable. His hide also seems to lack the typical sheen some mandyrs possess. But it isn’t exactly dull either. From the tip of his nose to the end of his tail his hide is marked with thin brindle stripping of a lovely maroon shade. His wing membranes sport the same lovely markings as the rest of the clutch his consisting of a bright purple iris surrounding a bright yellow pupil.
Personality:
Can you say sweet? This little guy just oozes charm. He seems to have a permanent smile on his face and it seems as if he is never in a bad mood. To be honest the level of sweetness he exudes most of the time might make some people nauseous. Unbeknown to anyone but his bonded he does have a slightly evil side. You see this mandyr loves sweets. To the point of obsession in fact. Every heard the phrase like taking candy from a baby? Well this guy would be the one to do just that. His love for sweets cannot possibly be healthy but this is one thing his bonded may never be able to break him of. In fact if he is not provided with sweets on a regular basis he becomes very sullen and grumpy. But only to his. To everyone else he is just as kind and happy to their face as always, but less than kind when their back is turned. He will be a frequent visitor to the creche no doubt simply to look for his favorite treat. If he does happen to be provided with is favorite treat he will always over indulge. Fortunately for him these binges do not result in him getting sick. Instead they result in a mandyr that literally bounces off the walls. Speaks a mile a minute and is basically the equivalent of a cat on cat nip. Spastic. Fortunately or perhaps unfortunately these bouts of insanity always end in the mandyr passing out. Pretty much literally. Bouncing one minute and then just suddenly collapsing into sleep like a narcoleptic. His bonded will have to keep a sharp eye on him to make sure he doesn’t pass out somewhere very inconvenient. As far as speech goes this little guy is fairly loud and fond of broadcasting. Sadly he doesn’t pronounce things the best most of the time but what he lacks in pronunciation he makes up for in enthusiasm. He is fond of chattering. Especially when he is in one of his sugar highs. Then he tends to string his words together in one impossible to understand sentence. As far as other draconics go he tends to love company whether it be mandyr or flit and seems to be immune to any insults or nasty comments thrown his way. He is rubber they are glue as far as he is concerned. In matters of love he is just as enthusiastic as any other male would be. Should he ever catch however don’t expect him to remain loyal to his woman. There is plenty of him to go around after all. All he wants is a little sugar.

It was a veritable Wherling convention in the dining hall, Piden thought at Pidesk. The new Bronzer, a Greenwherling, and - was that the greenhandler he was supposed to be mentoring? Kostya was the name, according Roivao, and besides this one, the only other Greenwherling was the kid who'd cut himself so bad at the hatching. Texi... something. Anyway, the logical deduction was easy there, as Texi-whatever was here with his Green, and Piden was fully aware that Blondie heading for the kitchens had Impressed, and Impressed green. Must be Kostya. It seemed like everything was coming up Piden, these days. He'd have to thank Roi next time he saw him.
Piden was in the process of checking his hair in the back of his spoon when Shells began to hiss. Ugly, stupid. Hey stopid fat gold! Wimpy playing Bronze make lots and lots stupid ugly fat mini-things? Hmmm? Now learn Harmony made wrong, stupid choice? he snarked, flaring his scarlet frill. Piden silently thanked Faranth that Red was still asleep and far, far away. Not that Shells wasn't totally capable of starting a scene on his own, as he seemed determined to prove. He grabbed at the Bronze as Shells scampered towards Harmony's clutch, missing by a mile. Should he bother catching the creature? Sigh... probably.
As Piden leveraged himself to his feet, Shells started in on Harmony's brood. Tiny frill, tiny wings... Imp half canine? Hmm? And fat. Plus, new one, shy! Fail fail fail. Be nice, Piden offered half-heartedly, looking Darmori over. Well, missing out on that wasn't the end of the world, this one really was a kid. Running a hand through his hair and falling in next to the Bronzewherling, Piden flashed him a sideways smile. "Sorry about Shells," he offered, making another sneaky grab that the Bronze easily avoided. "I'll shut him up if I can... just let Harmony know not to worry, he's just jealous."
Tenlie was keeping her head down, searching surreptitiously for Mi'rah and, more generally, anyone who had been involved in or nearby during Peccadillo's run. All that talk of sin and looseness still made her blush, and she really didn't want to face the Bronzerider. Just thinking about him brought color to her cheeks, and Big Brother hadn't even won. She'd fled before she saw how far the finale went, but she could imagine. And a man with a man. She was kind of in denial that Rajnith would cause her to act that way some day, but Big Brother was under strict standing orders to stay far away from Greens forever. And ever.
Raising her eyes a fraction to scan the room again, Ten spotted her roommate and cracked a smile, forgetting her troubles for a moment. She tried to snag Jazz's attention with a wave, then slid in next to the Blueweyrling. "Hi, Jazz," she said, grinning and elbowing the other girl. "What do you be looking at? Do it be the commotion?" she asked, noticing the drama at the center of the hall for the first time. Big Brother fluttered in to settle around her neck, eyeing the newest baby Salamandyr balefully. He had no problem with the smaller draconics - well no more problem than he had with anything. Everyone was treated with the same suspicion, even the just born.
What was that you were saying, Dhavalth? Rajnith asked, batting her eyelids and sliding a little bit closer to her blue brother. His bed was her current target - obviously it was softer and more cuddly - but Ten had assured her that a tantrum wasn't going to work in this case, so the Green had decided to try flattery. TenlieSlaveMine can be so distracting. Was it something about oranges? I've never had them. Are they delicious?

Salamandyrs hatch. Kamath sounded bored, his distaste (especially for the loud gold ones) quite obvious in his tone. Rof'l, however, jumped to his feet. You're not seriously going, are you? Rof'l bounced excitedly over to his dragon, scratching the eyeridges generously. "And why not? I think having a pet could be a lot of fun." Kamath grumbled. "What, don't want to share my affection? Don't worry, nothing could ever replace you."
Nothing had better replace me!
Laughing fondly, Rof'l threw his arms around the dragon. It was hard to understand how four months had made the tiny dragonet grow into this large beast. No doubt, he would get even bigger, finally settling into the massive body of an adult bronze. "I'll be back, don't worry. Maybe you'll get lucky and I won't Impress one," the boy laughed, flouncing out of his room.
As he left his room he paused uncertainly. Main hall, Rof'lmine. Rof'l grinned, and half-ran towards the named location. He could grab some food while he was at it. He chose some wherry meat before glancing around. A small congregation of people could be seen, and the chubby purple salamandyr only confirmed his suspicions. This was where the salamandyrs were.
He nudged past a few people to observe the lovely eggs. Several were rocking. Others were cracking. One had hatched. Good timing. Too good,[/color] Kamath said grumpily. He did not want to share Rof'l's affection or attention, especially not with one of those loud, grumpy things.
------
Why were all these people so loud? Karou had entered the main hall only to see a group of people and hear, well, loudness. She rolled her eyes with annoyance, turning her attention to the strange lady waving her ladle around. Probably telling these loud people to shut up, for Faranth's sake. There was nothing she hated more than loud people. Then again, they were always loud, but even that couldn't keep Karou away from her beloved meat.
After getting her meal, Karou took an empty seat to eat it. Her plate was piled high with herd beast meat and wherry meat. Some days she was completely carnivorous, refusing to eat any vegetables whatsoever. She craved meat and only meat. She took a delicious mouthful, savoring it.
In a world of morons and idiots and arrogant snobs, meat kept her partially sane. She caught sight of a darting bronze, screaming and screeching. People should really keep those nuisances out of the public eye. Who would ever want one of those loud, obnoxious beasts? She longed to find its owner and tell him a thing or two. Unleashing those creatures was Karou-cruelty.

He was not allowed to attend a hatching of any kind. Marsask, evidently, could not stress this enough – not to His and not to the Pestilence (the latter of which wanted very badly to eat some eggs and had scurried off to get a good look at Harmony’s clutch). He intended to attend this hatching thing – but His wasn’t welcome. And he was coming to see his brothers. Marsask’s tail thumped the ground as he sat near the edge of the bed where His was putting on his boots, the irritation in his eyes becoming more prominent. What part of no more didn’t he get? The wher was steadily growing more upset. He didn’t want to share His with anybody, that made him a less-than-ideal slave. Why was he getting dressed? Stop it –
“Like I want one. I didn’t even want you.”
Yeah yeah. Same old story, different time of the day. He may not have wanted him but he got him so he could just suck it up and anyway, he was much less annoying than the Pestilence, even His had to admit that. If he didn’t want one, why was he getting dressed?
“Typically, Marsask, they don’t like us to come to dinner naked. I mean, I personally have no problem with it but the general public does. I’m hungry – on the subject of which, why aren’t you? Is Kostya feeding you again? He is, isn’t he? I should thank him, it saves me work.” Yawn. Marsayis reached up to rub his eyes, stood up and stretched. His back cracked a few times and he patted Marsask’s nose lightly. “Don’t worry, I promise I’ll let you eat anything that comes near me, but I’m really just going to the kitchens. Are you coming with me?” Did it ever dawn on him that dragging a wher into the kitchens might be considered unhygienic? Not really. It was Marsask. He could and frequently did go wherever he wanted and Marsayis was long past trying to stop him. “If you come with me you can chase any of the annoyances off. See, win-win. Plus I’ll sneak you whatever I’m making.”
He didn’t approve of this plan. Why couldn’t His wait a candlemark? He’d be safe then. Why did His have to be so weird about eating? Marsask whined softly, but he did follow at the heels of His quite closely – he was not about to let anything baby come near his, no he was not, he was his and he didn’t want to share. The possessiveness seemed to amuse Marsayis (whose only comment on waiting on food was ‘Well, I could have wher-roast’) but Marsask was quite serious. He did not want to share. It put him in a bad mood and his demeanor was normally very light and playful. Yes, there was a very upset baby blue wher present.
Rather than go anywhere near the clutch, though, Marsayis darted near the outer wall (not noticing Kostya, though Marsask did and yipped happily to him) toward the kitchens themselves. The words of the angry drudge stopped him, and he glanced at her in blatant amusement. “You tell ‘em, ma’am.” But she was right in the middle of his path toward food. Not good. Hmm. Maybe she’d move soon, he thought; he didn’t feel like causing drama by trying to squeeze past. He likely would’ve waited the heartbeat it took – except that in that moment, Marsask got the very clever idea that if he sat on the babies, they would get the message that he was unwilling to share. Oh yes, they would get that message. And the idea occurred to him before Marsayis could stop him, the blue wher positively stampeding across the Main Hall toward the eggs.
Apologetically, Marsask yipped to Darmask. He liked his bronze brother but he obviously didn’t understand the threat that the eggs posed. He’d save everyone! The chest was eyed and then Marsask flung himself up onto the table directly, not even aware of the danger he posed to the babies within. He was still a baby himself, after all. But Calamari, who had been perching grouchily on the walls, puffed up and flared his frill irritably, PARASITE! NO HURT NOMS! Flinging himself off the wall, Calamari glided over to Marsask and took to jumping frantically on his head. Baaaaaad wher.

LoveMine, want nutlies. "I'm aware that you want them," Kalierre responded placidly, before chewing on another tuber. Another long, long day ended. "You've been pushing for them since we entered." Give nutlies Lust? Love forevers. "Already will. You're stuck with me." Sooo hungry. "You can get them yourself." Shell hard crack. Lust so small. Other, lesser bonebags give nutlies, feel sorry Lust, LustHis no love, no give nutlies Lust beeeg. LoveMine no love, he sulked dramatically, less for Kalierre's benefit and more for anyone else who might be listening in that he could wheedle nuts out of. "They're not good for you. If you can manage to get some, more power to you, but don't look at me."
Any further discussion between the dragonhealer and one of the first bronze menaces to break shell was interrupted by the announcement of the gold. Lust stared at her openly from his perch on the edge of Kalierre's bowl of soup, his frill flaring slowly in a brilliant bronze display of what seemed to be curiosity. He twisted part of his body in a queer mimicry of a human tilting their head to the side, tail swishing to one side for balance. Why small goldie talk much? he questioned His, in the salamandyr equivalent of a murmur. It was either a very queer-looking production of inbreeding of his own kind - or one of the tiniest gold flits he'd ever seen. Not in width but in overall size, of course. "I imagine because her babies are hatching." Kali was curious herself, eyeing the odd creature with some interest. A really deformed salamandyr, or was it enough of a genetic deviation to be something different entirely? A crossbreed of the two pets, perhaps? Not stupidfluff, Lovemine l'rineeater, he responded irritably. Strange one say hatch littles soon. A mild shrug. "You asked."
Both salamandyr and human missed the first Impression, their attention stolen by the elderly drudge sweeping out with the poor boy, waving her ladle around and bellowing like some sort of wounded herdbeast that the felines were playing with. Just as both heads had swiveled toward her in synch, they turned toward each other at the same time as well, with mirrored blinks, before looking at her again. Then Kalierre broke out into laughter, half-choking on the food she hadn't quite finished chewing and trying to stifle it with the napkin in front of her face. Loud silly, silly much, big fat bonebag. Babies best hatch food is, eat quick, sleep quick, quiet quick. Silly fatty spoon warrior.
The bronze leapt neatly onto Piden as he passed, however, scampering up his arm and onto the top of his head, where he peered down at the evasive Shells. Little bronzebaby, he interjected sibilantly. Mouth big, thoughts small. Emptyhead. Goldie eat, insult babies. Good babies. He flicked his tail, whacking Piden lightly on the forehead. Bonebag teach baby manners have. Babies no can help deformed be.
Kalierre made another choking noise, her face bright red by now. Until she saw the blue wher bounding for the eggs. She somehow managed to swallow down her food and, ignoring the moisture on her face, arose and prodded lightly at Marsask's side with the end of her cane. "Hey you. Don't be playing rough with the little ones, hm? Wouldn't want anything to happen to them."

Nabrik's eyes bugged out. A purple, talking lizard! This queen had the best eggs ever, it was clear. His grin widened as the little creature came towards. It was his! It was landing on his head! "Yes!" the boy whooped, before the little creature apologized and flutter off. Nabrik was dumbstruck. Wait, it wasn't his? The purple blue was cuddling another boy who had come. Glaring his fury, Nabrik pointed an accusing finger at Tekivix. "No fair! That one was mine!" he declared boldly. Cross his arms, he turned away to watch the eggs again. Let that other boy have his lizard, Nabrik's would be even better!
Hoayamae was running low on patience. Salamandyrs and fire lizards were one thing, but now young whers were running loose! It was too late to stop the hatching now, so she supposed she'd better work on crowd control. Turning back to the kitchen staff, she pointed at a pair of helpers. "You and you, start cutting up the rest of the meat and bring it out," she ordered. At least she wouldn't have hungry salamandyrs invading her kitchen. "The rest of you get back to serving dinner, this isn't a show!"

Take your eyes off something for a spilt second and the world obviously erupts into chaos. This was close to what Harmony was thinking as she spun from the clutch to frill her spines defiantly at Shells. How dare he call her fat and insult her babies. The nerve of the spineless worm. She would crush him. Eyes whirling a angry red the gold snapped her jaws and hissed venomously at the red colored bronze. Let him come closer. Talons swiped at the air in front of her. Jealous is Shells. Poor baby. Come Harmony teach better. She said in a false sweet tone teeth snapping again at the air. Perhaps fortunately for Shells something much more dangerous to her unborn children had suddenly made an appearance and the gold spun around to confront the new menace.
The sight of the wher was not welcome, nor was his proximity to her precious eggs. Marsask was far too large for her to do much damage at all to but she was determined to protect her brood by any means possible. Puffing herself up as large as she could Harmony hissed in threat at the blue, overlarge wings flaring to partially hide her eggs from view. Back. Go way. Bad Nightwalker. She hissed softly, talons clicking on the surface of the wooden table as she put herself between the beast and her clutch. With a strong command she touched the minds of the mandyrs in the vicinity, politely ordering them help defend her babies.
While the commotion was going on the Cabbage White egg had spilt, spilling out a odd looking green mandyr. The small female rose to her feet slowly and tilted her head. Bad. She hissed in mimicry of her mother before hoping forward on only two feet. That’s right two. Comically perhaps, her forelegs where far to tiny to help her at all and so the Cabbage White Green stepped forward awkwardly sliding in egg goop. Wing flaring outwards to help her keep her balance she gave a sharp hiss. Furiously she shook her wings, displaying the eyelet makings in a clear threat display. Oh no! Hers was poking at the large blue monster. Not good. She obviously needed to be protected! Without further thought the small strange looking green attempted a rush towards Marsask spitting and hissing. MINE. That thought was broadcasted solely to her chosen and Marsask as the Cabbage White Green leapt. She didn’t get far however as Harmony stretched her neck forward and yanked the green back by her tail. Careful. Is silly baby. Did she want to get eaten!
Unbeknownst to the two females there was another presence watching the entire scene, but he was fast becoming bored. No blood had yet been shed. Pity. Slow movers. With a soft hiss the Morning Cloak Blue slid out of the remains of his shell and scampered low over the table top. Behind him the Blue Morphos egg had also finally shattered, revealing a large brown who simply blinked at his blue sibling and gave a confused chirp. What was going on?
Without so much as a pause to answer the Blue Morphos Brown or gauge any of the other candidates for impression, The Morning Cloak Blue leapt off the table and into the air. Looping through it with ease he finally reached his target and came to rest on Marsayis’s head. Whirling blue eyes fixed themselves on his chosen before the Morning Cloak Blue purred privately. Hungry. Must make red leak. Idly he cleaned one of his talons before tilting his head towards Marsask. Slaveours idiot?
Darmori started as he was addressed his head whipping around to stare wide eyed at Piden. “Ur. Sure. I’ll let her know but she’s awfully…” The words trailed away as the blue sibling to his bronze wher suddenly leapt up onto the table. Oh Faranth. “Hey!” The wherling yelled at Marsask, flailing his arms for emphasis as the chest containing the eggs shook slightly. “Be careful you‘ll hurt the babies!” Darmosk barked in agreement from his position in the shadows. Yes no hurting the babies please. They where just little things. They could be easily smashed. Careful brother dear.

Cabbage White Green
Name: Impressed to: Kalierre Color: 66995D Green Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
If you wanted to be kind this mandyr could be descried as simply odd looking. If you sought to be less than kind you could probably label the poor thing ugly. She will end up somewhere in the larger than average range for green mandyrs as far as her size goes. Her head is blockish in shape and her jaw is larger than a mandyrs ought to be. She also has a pronounced under bite giving her a bulldog like appearance which is only heightened by the fact that her bottom teeth can be clearly seen even with her mouth shut. The ring of hardened spines ringing her head lack any frill to make up a membrane but they sadly are in a position of permanent extension. Which quite humorously gives her the look of wearing a tiny spiked collar. Tiny front legs are more for show really than any use. She can move and flail them around but as far as walking or gripping at anything they are basically useless. Thankfully however it seems her back legs more than make up for her lack of front ones. This green’s back legs are longer than a traditional mandyr and well muscled. In fact this is how this green will get around. By running on two legs like a bipedal creature. Thankfully her tail is rather long but thick which gives her a perfect counterbalance and helps her to stay upright. Her wings sadly are more for balance then function. They are short and thick and she will be unable to glide at all even in high winds. Which is perfectly okay with this little girl. She prefers to keep Her feet firmly on the ground.
This green doesn’t even really have the benefit of a pretty color. In fact her hide is a ugly greenish grey color. Light and pale the only markings breaking up the uniform color come in the form of a diamond shaped marking on her chest that is an almost black green color and one blackish spot also ringing her left eye. Her wings when fully flared have the same twin markings as her clutch siblings. Her particular markings comprised of a sea foam green pupil with a crimson iris ringing it. It is likely these wing markings will be displayed often as a threatening gesture.
Personality:
For all her strange looks her personality might be described as loyal. Or highly possessive depending on how you look at it. This green could best be described by the word guard dog. Hers is /hers/ and must be protected at all costs. Expect to be met with distrust and threat displays upon first meeting. Only if hers seems to be comfortable with the person will she even calm a small amount. Only those earning her bonded’s respect or adoration will be protected from her threats and physical attempts at protection. There is no doubt at all about the level of pure adoration she holds for her bonded. In fact the green can barely bear to be separated from her for any length of time and is only truly content when she is touching her. She displays all the classic signs of separation anxiety if left alone. Up to and including whimpering, destroying things and trying her best to escape and find her. As far as other mindmates go those that belong to hers fall under her protection as well. For in her mind they are merely extensions of her bonded. She is content to share as long as she gets a healthy amount of attention. If she thinks she is being neglected it will show only is her increased level of aggression to others. Those mindmates belonging to another are ignored or accepted in the best of circumstances and attacked and insulted if she thinks them a threat.
Strangely this mandyr hates being carried anywhere and prefers to go everywhere with the power of her own two feet. She has them and they work, so why not use them? It should also be noted that she is extremely afraid of heights and even something as high as a table top will give her fits of trembling and pleas to be set back on the ground where she is comfortable. This green’s vocabulary is nothing terribly special but she has the average eloquence for her color. Some words may be beyond her reach but she will do his best to enunciate them as well as she is capable of. Highly intelligent she understands most concepts but is stubborn enough to pretend she does not. As far as firelizards go she has a hatred of them that is comparable to her dam’s hatred of them. It will not be uncommon for her to physically attack them on sight or pepper them with threats and insults until they leave. In matters of running she is wholly uninterested in the male that catches her afterwards. Her undying devotion goes to one creature and one creature only. Hers.
~~~
Mourning Cloak Blue
Name: Impressed to: Marsayis Color: B9B9F1 blue Age: Hatchling
Appearance :
This male is proportionately maybe a little odd. His legs seem longer and more elongated that his other siblings. These elongated legs enable him to get around quite spectacularly. He is quick, can turn on a dime, and is very acrobatic. Especially with the large perfectly functional wings he sports. He can both glide or fly depending on his mood. His body is long, lithe, and whip like and he is fond of winding about and into things. He is by no means weak looking his body showing a surprisingly nice amount of wiry muscle under the hide. Large liquid eyes are perhaps the only thing that hint at any softness and they are almost trusting in their cuteness. One should not trust this male however. Surrounding his head are the same spines most of his siblings sport. His being a dark black. He will be fond of sharpening these spines for ‘use’. His tail is also long and whip like and he will be fond of using that as well. Whether to pick something up, hang on to something, or as a weapon.
His coloration can best be described as pale. A almost soft shade of blue that contains a few purplish undertones. The color upon his hide is broken up by swirling patterns and designs of dark purple that surround his eyes and wisp along his back, sides, and legs, like smoke. This smoke like pattern is continued on his wings swooping in and out and almost elegant looking in their mirroring both wings continuing the same positioning and location of swirls. His wing eyelets are a ghostly pale white blue ringed by a almost purplish black that seems iridescent when the light hits it. All in all his color is very striking but perfect for blending in with the night.
Personality:
This male is quiet most of the time. That is not to say he is unintelligent however. Although he would certainly like you to believe so. In fact this mandyr is rather dark. Holding no love for anything other than perhaps his and this can be debatable as well. His mind and thoughts all hinge on the violent side. He is particularly fond of watching others suffer. He will be particularly fond of hiding in dark places and plotting pain as he works out how to best subdue his victims. This male is a hunter in nature, he is not after meat or death however. Merely terror, pain, ichor, and blood. He prefers blood above everything else, so the majority of his victims will be human in nature, although he will not turn his nose up at a firelizard if one proves an easy target. He prefers a liquid diet you see. Waiting until his target falls asleep he will scamper to his intended victim and with either teeth or frill spines wound them so as to be able to drink their blood. If blood is simply unattainable he will settle for egg yolk or meat if it is fresh. He absolutely refuses to eat anything cooked. He especially likes to cause pain whether it be to another or his bonded, either mental or physical, and will frequently look for new targets. It almost seems to be an addiction for the blue.
He absolutely hates fire lizards and will be fond of causing them pain whenever the opportunity presents itself. He is particularly good at fighting surprisingly. Knowing how best to use talons, spines, and claws to his advantage and being quick and skilled enough to avoid retaliation. He will be fond of hassling others until they either between in the case of flitters, or run in the case of humans. He is eloquent when he chooses to speak but his words are always dark and foreboding. Never will an ‘I love you’ or anything similar come form his mouth. His bonded seems to be the only one who has an bit of control over the blue and even then he will have work out a way to control the mandyr’s impulses through trial and error because most methods of bribery or containment will simply fail. For in addition to being good at hiding this blue is a master escape artist. In matters of love he is imply uninterested in mating. He may enter a chase. But only to cause pain or terror to the runner and her followers.
