"Thank you!" Kneeling near the puppy Kai was about to pet her when the Brown flit landed on her back, he stopped so he didn't startle the baby. The young boy waited quietly until he left to gently ruffle the puppy's fur, just like he did with Soleil. Gentle pets, just like his mommie said to do. Kai looked at the clutch as he continued to stroke the fluff ball. Oh, did he miss some of the babies? Glancing round at all the adults he could see, he counted three babies that weren't in the nest, and two babies that were. So that was... waaasss.... five! His momma would be proud of him, whatever being proud meant.
---
"Kidnap! No." He laughed as he tossed his charge a glance. "Little do you know, I actually work in the Creche during the day occasionally. We had just taken the kids on a field trip when we got the hatching call, I wanted to come and Kai wanted to go with." He turned to Kaius. "You don't have to be sorry, it takes a while sometimes. I know it took me a couple of months to adjust." Tucking his free hand into one of his back pockets and adjusting the bowl with the other, Nautic smiled happily at the others in greeting. "Hello, hello." Then the Wherhandler proceeded to divide his attention between the group, Kai and the hatching. Thanking Faranath that he was actually a pretty good multitasker.
Though in all honesty, the Weyrwoman's son was his top priority. He knew that the boy wasn't known to wonder off, but children were children and one could never really count on their consistency. Loosing him would spell certain disaster, probably a little chaos as well. Although the Weyrwoman only controlled the domestic parts of the Weyr, there were still tons of ways to hamper his daily life. He sighed outwardly. As long as he kept track of the boy, everything would be fine.

Annatolli nodded a little sadly to Olivia. Poor Impala. It must be awful not to be able to see her friends. Of course, they could still be together and that's what was important. "Nhim got sick too," Anna said, hugging Xelos a little tighter than she meant. She'd been so afraid of loosing him. "Auntie Mae says he doesn't send her pictures anymore." Nhim was healthy now though, and not sending pictures wasn't nearly so bad as being blind. Anna perked up almost at once when more of the adorable fire lizards began to choose people. "I'm sure a friend would make Impala all better!" she encouraged. Or at least as better as one could get if one was blind.
~
Merridan couldn't help but smirk a little. R'men had impressed already, that was just like him. She considered offering her congratulations, but he looked busy enough for now. Besides, Auran had alerted her to a problem of her own. With no queen to dissuade her, Vikky was headed for the eggs. They were all in pieces! That just wasn't right. She would fix them, yes she would! "Vikky!" Mer called sternly. "You leave those eggs alone! They're suppose to break!" Supposed to break? Now why would they want to do that? When they'd been all lovely and round before.
Mer sighed as Vikky proceeded to land near the eggs. With a friendly chirp to the surly blue hatchling, she began piecing together eggshells one by one. Mer moved her way closer to the nest. Silly green was always getting into trouble. Mer figured she'd better catch her before she caused more.
~
Porita didn't mind that everyone seemed so busy. Two of the new wherlings even had a new fire lizards of their own and that was wonderful. She offered shy smiles of congratulations to Sena and Vivano and went back to her lurking around the edges of the crowd. The babies were just beautiful. Neyki was already a treasure, for all her gloom, and Porita didn't mind if none of the babies wanted her. They had so many wonderful people to choose from after all.

Ae'on was relieved to see that when the brown firelizard left the little boy - Kai, why was that name familiar? - was gentle with his puppy. Aldonza slumbered on obliviously but the boy wondered how long that would last. Almost reluctantly he started, "Well as you can see she's tuckered out. I have to get her home so she can sleep on something a little comfier than sand." Not that sand wasn't remarkably comfortable...but he was clearly pressing his luck not Impressing something since he'd gotten Sfelyth and Me despite not wanting them.
The blue in the clutch didn't even blink as Vikky greeted him and proceeded to start putting eggs back together. His wings did give one wild flap and he curiously moved closer, cheeping once incredulously. What exactly was the point of putting broken shells back together if more were just going to break anyways? Still, the baby moved even closer and picked up a shard of the egg, holding it out delicately to the green. He could at least help a little bit even if he didn't see the point of it. Besides, she was...well, a she.
He moved towards the green, crooning curiously as if he wanted to learn more about the process of fixing eggs - he already knew it wouldn't work but that didn't need mentioning if distracting her let him crowd in closer to the female. Any plans he had were suddenly ruined by the egg that had been rocking falling apart around a lighter blue firelizard. He immediately puffed out his chest and wandered over to the other pair of firelizards. Well, well, what was going on here? He strutted up to the egg his brother was rebuilding with his new friend.
Hmph. The lighter blue made a croon in such a tone that it brought to mind a human sneering at another. The darker blue's wings were quivering, tense and angry as he stared back at his brother. He unconsciously moved in front of the older (and therefore larger at that point) green. The lighter blue snorted contempuously and lashed out not at his brother or the green but at the egg they had been working on. He watched it crumble with a satisfied chirp before turning and leaving his now-furious brother and his little friend. He was hungry and important and knew who he wanted.
He opened his gorgeous wings and took to the air...only to fall back to the earth with a pained squawk. He looked around him to see who had noticed and hissed when he realized most present probably had. Well then. He once again beat his wings and rose into the air, acting like nothing was wrong even though his eyes were rapidly spinning with a pained colour. Discovering quickly that it hurt to make the motion of flapping, the blue stilled his wings and managed to catch a shaky breath during a glide that took him to his intended person.
He all but smacked into Nautic's stomach and clung to the man's shirt for dear life. Coyly, as if he hadn't just been in a lot of pain and practically crash landed, he suggested being fed and then he'd help His acquire the baby he so desired. He only wanted His to be happy afterall! (If that meant getting rid of the unimportant pest in His' life, well, all to the better...) The blue that remained unimpressed gave a quiet little hiss of disatisfaction. That was one unpleasant brother. The sound of another egg cracking and spilling forth a green brought his stare around to said green.

Name:Impressed to: Nautic Color: Blue #99EECC #9988DDPhysical Appearance: Considering this blue's personality his appearance isn't too surprising. After all, others listen better to beauty and this blue embodies it. Beauty is not usually related to males but with his large eyes, pleasant face, and streamlined figure you can't call him anything else. He knows it, too, considering they way he is constantly posing. He often has his wings open, the near transparent wingsails just enhancing his beauty. His wings though are not quite as functional as he would like. He can fly but it's actually quite painful for him to do so, which results in minimal flying from him. He can glide without pain though. This flitter is a pleasant, light shade of blue for a base for the most part. Over his back spreads a somewhat darker, bordering on purple colour like a blanket. His entire head is also this purple-y shade. What really makes him special though is his wings. As mentioned, they are surprisingly translucent, with only a slight shading of colour. His base colour and his 'blanket' colour combine in senseless swirls on his wingsails, allowing the light through in interesting patterns. His relatively simple colouring is nonetheless beautiful much like his form. Personality: This blue's most noticeable trait is that he has an inflated sense of importance about himself. Clearly he is the most important thing at any given time. Unfortunately, he tends to purposefully make this true. Or try to anyways. Any lovers of His will be shown any image possible to break them up, any other mindmates will be horribly abused, and any other situation that takes precedence over himself he will attempt to top by causing his own scene. Usually harmful to others but not always. He would much rather smooth 'talk' his way through things than destroy things. Oddly enough this flitter takes to certain people and actively dismisses or uses all others. His is, unfortunately, more used than he is loved. Love is not absent but neither is it the main reason this flit keeps His. And yes, he is His' keeper. He will try his hardest to give orders to His and usually he manges to be pretty convincing by promising that their goals are largely the same. They don't usually actually match up but this blue is pretty much the best little liar ever and has absolutely no guilt doing so to His. To those this blue takes a genuine liking to - usually the well-meaning, naive types, presumably because he admires that trait in others...or perhaps pities them - he's almost saccharine in his sweetness to them. He will manipulate, steal, lie, cheat...in short, do anything for them. If they spurn his advances he becomes borderline homicidal - he will violently attack random people, firelizards, salamandyrs, etc. until he equally randomly decides they were delusional and tries again. His obsession with ones he likes means he tends not to chase females unless they happen to be one of his liked beings.

It was good to know Nautic hadn’t started up an underground kidnap-and-ransom business, but honestly Sena’s attention had become primarily split between R’men and Kaius—R’men for the obvious reason, the little green firelizard perched on his shoulder, and Kaius because…well, she wasn’t that oblivious and his sudden apathy to the whole Hatching thing wasn’t that unnoticeable. Well, maybe, if she hadn’t known him as well as she did, not that she was going to call him out on it out loud because that would just be rude. But R’men wasn’t as physically close to her as Kaius was, so she felt safe enough hip-checking him lightly, slanting him a mutely concerned glance, brows furrowing as she tried to mentally beam into his mind that she wouldn’t be offended or anything if he wanted to make up an excuse to get out of there.
Unfortunately, since concerned glances only really portrayed that very well and not an entire string of words, and since she was decidedly human and incapable of spontaneously developing telepathic powers, it probably didn’t go over terribly well.
“What letters d’you like?” she asked R’men, still a bit distracted and glancing at Kaius again before she turned to the bronzerider, “Or names I guess, like d’you like Ceres or Phebe or like…” She gestured absently with her hand, “Uh—” Whatever names she might’ve spouted off next caught in her throat, though, as a pale brown firelizard, twittering enthusiastically, spun around her head, earning a startled look from Sena as she automatically pulled back from the flick of his tail until Impression hit her and her expression turned absolutely stunned; she dropped R’men’s arm and eased her other arm from around Kaius to hold up both hands for the firelizard to land in, cupping her hands together.
“Hi,” she breathed, as the brown settled into her hands, eyes bright as he chirruped again, just this side of smug, at the attention, and then tilted his head at the green on R’men’s shoulder to croon at her, a faintly teasing, long time no see sister…“You gotta have a name too, but oh, that’s gotta be able to wait till you’ve got some food in you, right? Kaius, I’m gonna go beg food off of, um, him, looks like he’s got enough to go ’round,” nodding at L’am, “You wanna come? Don’t mind if you don’t or anything. Wow, I guess Jen’s gonna finally have company that ain’t a depressive Razorclaw or a Salamandyr, huh.”
She threw a wide-eyed glance at R’men, and added sternly, “Stay. I’m comin’ back to finish naming, for real, I just gotta feed him right now and you don’t look like you’ve got enough to steal from, so.” And it didn’t look very sweet did it, the brown added on another playful croon, winding his tail around Sena’s wrist as she cradled him against her collarbone, tucked against her neck, and glanced at Kaius with a tip of her head in mute query before she eased towards L’am, trying to look casual.

" Just not so used to actually having to adjust to anything, ya know?" He said to Nautic. " I appreciate it though." He said to the other handler, offering the blonde man a grin. He really did appreciate that most of the wherhandlers were actually quite friendly and accommodating. Not that he hadn't been expecting it...he just never actually go to know any of the handlers before he had impressed. He kinda felt bad for it.
Kaius was getting a little frustrated. Not with Sena, not even with R'men...he was getting frustrated with himself. The longer he spent hanging around this clutch, the more of a chance he stood of impressing. Not that he had anything against firelizards. He didn't. It was just that he seemed to have a knack for impressing things that he didn't want and not so much of a knack for impressing things he actually wanted to impress. Kaiusk and King were proof enough of that. Not that he regretted anything. He would never actually say that he regretted impressing either of them. He loved both his wher and his salamandyr. They were an integral part of his soul and his mind, and he didn't want to imagine life without them. He just didn't need anymore mishaps.
So, he was unprepared for the surge of panic that surged through him when he heard the rushing of wings and something tugging hard at his hair. " Hey! What the..." He glanced up to see a large brown firelizard, flitting around. The boy's eyes widened. No, no, no, no, no! He couldn't impress, not again. Without realizing it, the tall boy was trying to hunker down near Sena, to try to seem as small as possible. Luckily though, he wasn't the brown's target. But...Sena?
He couldn't hide the happiness he felt. Not only that he didn't impress, but that one of his best friends had. His face broke into a really genuine smile at the thought. " Good job, Sena! Wha'd ya do to get that one to come after you!" He really was very happy for her. He didn't know how King would react to another firelizard coming into the room...he knew that his salamandyr wasn't exactly a fan of the bigger creatures. Kaius was sure that the bronze would adapt. He had begun to think of Jen as a friend, very slowly, but surely. This brown seemed friendly enough that he was sure that King would warm up to him rather quickly. " What're you gonna name him, Sena?"
When Sena told him that she was going to go get some meat from L'am and invited him along, he agreed wholeheartedly. Anything to keep from having to stay near the clutch. He did NOT need another pet, thank you.
" I've never had a canine before, so I couldn't tell you I know how they think...but they're very loyal animals, right?" Or so he had heard from Jeth, on numerous occasions. " I'm sure if you do impress, I don't know that she'd know the difference. It isn't like dogs actually impress or anything." He shrugged a little, glancing over to see that more of the babies had hatched. Hm. Blues and greens and a brown...he wondered if the father of this clutch had actually been brown himself, with no metallics in the clutch, it was a pretty good bet.
His gaze switched back to Kelinale when the boy spoke. " That's a good point." He grinned at the boy. " And it's much better to impress a firelizard before you actually impress a dragon than it is to impress a salamandyr. I don't know if you've met any of those creatures, but they're little monsters. They bond in much the same way that a dragon does. Of course it isn't as strong, but it's much stronger than a firelizard bond, what with flightlust and all. If you impress one of those before you impress a dragon, you could potentially screw your dragon up big time.
The man looked like he was about to say something else when he saw someone walking towards him. L'am eyed the blonde girl, wondering why she was trying to look so sneaky. Then he saw the little blue bundle of limbs and wings cradled in her hand and he grinned. " If you want some meat, just take some." He said to Sena, smiling in amusement at her. " I brought it for everyone...since you didn't think to bring your own meat." He chuckled towards her. " What's his name anyway." He asked Sena.

Vikky glanced up from her work with a delighted trill. Oh, the little darling wanted to help? Wouldn't they eggs look better all whole again? That's what she liked to do best, after all, put things right! Carefully, she took the blue's offered bit of shell with a croon of thanks. She was a little sad he didn't stick around to help more, but she could soon see why. Look at those silly babies, she tisked, they'd gone and broken more eggs! Shaking her head, Vikky returned to the shells she already had. She had a lot of work to do.
Merridan moved close enough to the clutch so she could see Vikky and paused. Vikky wasn't hurting any of the babies or bothering them. Going to catch her would probably cause quite a bit of excitement. She sighed and decided to leave the silly green where she was for now. Auran was snorted at Vikky from her shoulder to express his own opinion. Silly green was very silly. She didn't even know what eggs were for! And after coming out of one herself to start with.

The blue's wings swept towards the still dazed green, a small concerned croon coming from him. He moved over to the female and let one interestingly patterned wing brush agaisnt her cheek. The green's response was instantaneous. She jumped up and playfully shoved her brother over, sprawling across his now exposed belly smugly. Gotcha. She'd only been pretending, ha! The blue was rather unruffled by the experience of his sister pinning him down. He chittered tiredly but didn't bother trying to dislodge her. His siblings seemed to like knocking him down. His sister was more welcome than his brother.
The blue turned his head slightly and crooned something that sounded distinctly coyly flirtatious up at the green. That marked the beginning of back-and-forth playful flirting between the two. It would be quite likely for the two to go on for ages but one of the remaining eggs gave a shudder and fell apart around a bronze firelizard. The two looked at the bronze for a moment before the green abandoned her blue brother in favour of slinking towards the newly hatched baby. The blue's wings ruffled slightly in amused resignation before he bounced gracefully into the air.
He was quite hungry, you see. Besides, it was time to find someone that hopefully wouldn't abandon him like his siblings. Not like he really thought he could find such a person but...he would give it a go. He circled above the heads of the people a bit before spotting a bowl of meat. Well then, how about that? The blue glided the rest of the way to the bowl and landed neatly on the edge. He chirped up at L'am almost hopefully (except hope was kind of pointless since the world was clearly quite awful).
The green in the clutch was rather miffed. Why? Because while the blue had been finding His she had moved to brush up against the bronze. When she'd made even the slightest of contact the bronze had disappeared between mid-squawk. She left the nest without another thought even as the final egg spontaneously prouted four brown firelizard legs. She didn't even hesitate in going directly for T'ri and landing in his hair. Hey, hey, she needed food! Time to stop hiding behind little girls.

Name:Impressed to: L'am Color: Blue #6082B6 #001A57Physical Appearance: Perfectly average in size for his colour is this firelizard. His wings are thinner and longer than is the norm for a firelizard and he excels at outmaneouvering most others. They are the most obvious way to tell his mood, rather than his eyes or his posture. They are very nearly always in motion: quick, short jerks if he's tense, excitedly flapping if he's happy, or fluttery and caressing if he's concerned. In form his thin, lean build makes him look almost fragile but if one were to feel his weight on their shoulder they would know he's more sturdy than that. At first glance this firelizard is nothing special when it comes to hide pattern. He's a simple though fairly pretty blue with grey undertones all across his hide. It's the intricate details that make this blue something a bit extroardinary. Spider-web thin dark blue lines on his wings connect and flow in such a way that it looks like he has literal bird wings tattooed onto his wingsails. This same dark blue rings his neck and has a long triangle reach down to about mid-chest, like a caricature of a terran necktie. Really though it is his wings that tend to get the attention and he tends to get a bit self-conscious about them. Personality: This blue is amazingly world weary right out of his shell. The world is just doomed to suck and destroy itself with or without his help. He will always give his help when asked, without fail, but he doesn't believe it will ever do any good. His cynicism leads to a wickedly sharp sarcastic wit which he wields mercilessly against anyone in the form of firelizard pictures, different sounding chirps and croons, and emotions translated through His - and oh boy will he insist on His making his point heard. This flit doesn't give his opinion much but when he does people better listen. This flit has an odd and self-destructive obsession with intoxicants of any kind. Part of it's an inborn curiosity of the conventions of humans like His and another is that it seems to numb the earth shattering realization that everything sucks. His should attempt as much as possible to keep alcohol and anything that gives off unhealthy fumes from this blue. Not an easy task since his grasp of between is extroardinary and he excels at giving the kicked puppy look without seemingly realizing he does it. This boy clearly has a number of vices but none is more evident than his weakness for flights and females. He will spend sevendays upon sevendays courting any and all female firelizards (and, okay, most female salamandyrs too) in preparation for their flights. The problem is he's charming enough when he wants to be and can wax poetic about the spirituality of two firelizards coming together. He is impossible of being loyal to a single female even though he actually does care for them all as friends. Name- Impressed to- T'ri Color- Green ( #188028 | #0d2600 | #67e079) Appearance- This little lady’s all sleek lean angles and lithe curves; she’ll always be built on the long slender side, moving with a degree of startlingly subtle grace and efficiency that’s lovely to behold and difficult to pinpoint. She’s small as greens go, with sharp ridges down her spine and long elegant head knobs, her tail and wings long and expressive and a sure indication that she’ll take to the winds with easy familiarity and confidence from the very beginning; the female’s comfortable with her own body and all its not-quite proportional quirks in a way most of her kin take time to acclimatize to. Claws curved into sickles will give her no problem when she lands on people; her oversized wings will never trip her up. In color she’s an undeniably attractive creature; a pleasant shade of warm green settles over her hide with a definite shimmer of yellow highlights underlining the ripple of muscle across her shoulders, sides, and flanks, contrasting to cool blue undertones that slide down her spine and curved neck. Her wingsails are a green as dark as to be black, but when she’s well-oiled, they’ll shine like an oil slick—with an array of stunning rainbows, but most prominently a lovely shade of beryl green. Across her sides in translucent, clean minty greens twist intricate runes, each blurring and melting into her hide but distinctly traceable; the same shade lines the edge of her wingsails, shining with blue undertones. Personality- She’s a creature of spectacular paradoxes, lover of chaos and illusions and the finer things in life; with a personal vendetta against settling for less, she’s effortlessly manipulative when it comes to getting what she wants. Coyly mischievous and unrepentantly sneaky, she’s a femme fatale who adores the shadows, can and will disappear when she feels the need to and return at opportune moments on cue. Between is her playground as much as the skies are, and all the people are the equipment…for she’s not a bit shy about dropping in on strangers or snatching little souvenirs as she goes about her daily business…which is whatever she feels like doing that particular day. While she’s smart enough to be trained at the drop of a pin this green’s also stubborn enough to deliberately trounce all attempts; Hers will only see her at all when she sees fit, for she’s a streak of independence and self-preservation largely unmatched by most firelizards who are as attached and fiercely loyal to Theirs as she is…she’s just too smart to be clingy, is all. That said, her affection comes across prominently in faintly mocking playfulness and a blind indifference to typical social standards, and it’s easy to mistake for her typical devil-may-care, pushing-the-boundaries attitude; those who are particularly close to her may recognize the undertones of true affection and genuine pride—and her willingness to do anything for them, when it comes down to the things that matter most. She has her moments of true abandon, though, and a tendency to overindulge in the nicer things—she likes her living space to be lavishly decorated, her food to be rich, her Flights controlled by her; she’s a flirtatious creature in an almost arrogant way, demands attention with such perfect composure it’s hard to deny her, or even think of it as less than absolutely deserved and normal. Her sense of humor is dryly appealing and warm, and she tends to present herself as pleasantly humored by life, unruffled and unashamedly indulgent in its absentminded little follies.

Annatolli was beside herself with happiness. The fire lizard babies were all so adorable! She was so glad they were all finding good homes, even if they weren't with her. Xelos was watching the proceedings with a pleasant hum in her ear. For once he wasn't showing off or trying to be the center of attention. Anna began to wonder if he really would like a friend. He liked Nhim alright, but what if he got jealous of a new baby. Anna decided she would have to be careful to love them both just the same. She was sad to see the pretty bronze one leave, though. He would be so lonely out by himself.
~
Porita stroked Neyki fondly as the green hummed mournfully. Even when she was happy the green managed to sound sad. Oddly, Porita did find her comforting. Posk was a dear and always a joy to be around, but Neyki gave her someone to be with when she moved about during the day. This way she was never really alone where ever she went. She was glad to see the wild babies seemed to like people too, except the bronze one. Poor dear, she thought, maybe he was frightened by the crowd. Without a mother to assure them, it was amazing more of them hadn't fled. Though perhaps the smell of food was enough to keep them near.
~
Vikky was studious ignoring the babies now. She had so much work to do! Still, she glanced up as two more eggs crack with a snort of annoyance. Still more work, she muttered to herself. Pity the bronze one had left, he'd been handsome. Her eyes traveled to the brown legs. Here now, she tutted, another one was going to make a mess! Skies above, Vikky thought, if she ever had children they would know to break their eggs into neat pieces.
Merridan watched the bronze go, a little sadly. It really was a pity, but at least he wasn't a dragon. He would probably have a happy life, possibly even come back to chase the Weyr queens some day. Dragons betweening, Mer thought with a shudder, that was truly awful. It looked like the eggs were nearly all hatched, so Mer nudged Chaoth's mind to get ready to leave. It looked like she would have plenty of passengers for the way back and she didn't fancy sticking around after what had happened to the wherhandlers.

Arhenaiyth was not impressed by Olivia, no matter the compliments, but T'ri successfully tuned him out. "He says thanks," the Weyrling offered, with a half-smile when it was clear the little girl wasn't paying attention at all. Too busy riding her first dragon. Fine with T'ri.
He was less charmed when she tried to pull him towards the clutch, though. Carefully disengaging his hand from hers, he waved her off. "Go get 'em. I'll stay back here, the more shields the better." As the girls headed closer to the clutch, T'ri stayed back by Arhenaiyth, clearly separate from the group. Remind me why we came again? I do have better things to do than watch slimy little idiots find their sappy mind-fools,[/i] the Blue objected, directing T'ri's attention to each of the impressors in turn. Really, because you seem to be paying far more attention than me. Because there's nothing better to do, and you've already interrupted my day, so I might as well make the most of it. Leave me alone. Uh huh. The dragon slumped to the ground, the picture of bored annoyance, and T'ri tossed up a hand, strolling towards the clutch so he could get a better look.
A familiar face made him freeze, though, and try to hide behind someone. That bluerider... L'am, that was his name. The one T'ri had grabbed after Eveyth's flight. Crap. T'ri hadn't seen him since the flight, and he knew he shouldn't be embarrassed or anything, but like, ew. What was he supposed to say to the guy? Luckily (?) for T'ri, however, he didn't have long to think about it. With a sudden, distinct sense of mental claimage, a beautiful little green flit exited the nest, heading for him without a backwards glance. T'ri raised his eyebrows at first, but couldn't resist a smile. "Hey there, pretty," he cooed, as Arhenaiyth moaned. No. What did you do. Get it away, I hate sharing, you know that. I thought you were just playing taxi, not looking for a brain-pest![/i]
T'ri wasn't listening, but the green was. As her new owner fussed over a string of egg goop still glistening on one wing, she flicked her tail flirtatiously at Arhenaiyth, winking at him as soon as he noticed. I hate it. Put it back.[/i] That made T'ri laugh, but the green was not as amused. With a pained cry, she winked between.... Only to appear behind Henny's head a moment later. She gave the dragon a gentle whack on the back of the head, then landed on a knob (despite Arhenaiyth's frantic shaking) and trilled at T'ri. Where was that meat she'd asked for?
Well, L'am seemed to be meat-man, so T'ri glanced around, looking for another source. A girl with Brownrider's knots seemed likely, so he scooted over next to Merridan, offering a forearm to the green when she slipped between and back to him. "Any chance I can bum some of that meat off of you? I've got a little lady that's hungry and won't take no for an answer."

"Oh, okay. Byebye puppy." Kai patted the pup on the head before standing up, with a grin and a wave to her owner he was off back to Nautic. Many of the eggs had hatched already, which was too bad because he had come to watch the hatching. But even with the little bit of disappointment he felt, having been able to pet the puppy made him happy. He loved canines, and now he wanted to go back to Soleil so he could pet him. "'scuse!" He said to the people blocking his way to get to Nautic, saying it each time he passed between a pair of people or skipped around a solitary person. He was back beside his caretaker within moments. "Nausi you have a flit! Oh he's pretty! Whats his name?"
--
"Nnguuuh." Nautic nearly dropped the bowl in favor of grabbing the smarting area when the little Blue flew into his stomach. He felt the Impression almost immediately, having gone through the process multiple times by now, and blinked. "Now wait a second, don't you go getting any ideas now. You're just a baby yourself." The hatching made a reproachful noise, as if he would ever do anything without consulting His first! (Lies of course, but His didn't need to know that) The Greenhandler narrowed his eyes before scooping up the hatchling so he didn't tucker himself out. The Blue's antics in the nest hadn't been very nice at all. He couldn't tell what it was yet, but something about this Blue raised a little red flag somewhere in his head. Shifting the bowl so he could dig a piece out, he gave it to the unpleasant (if beautiful) male. "I suppose I should name you."
Nautic looked down at Kai when he arrived, glad to see that the young boy hadn't run off when he'd been distracted by the young Blue. "I dunno. I was about to think of something." Speaking of the flit... he'd twisted himself around to look at the small human who had spoken to His, trying to decide whether to like or shun the little one. He flared his wings in thought, letting the sunlight pass through them to light up the swirls. He tilted his head when the youngling 'whoa'd' in awe, which made him puff up importantly. "Yeah..." Nautic rolled his eyes as he observed the whole exchange. "I'm naming you Vain." With a sigh, Nautic collected all his charges so that he could leave. He'd be lying if he said he didn't have a bad feeling about introducing Vain to the rest of their family.

Ae'on had been surprised by the child's willingness to let the puppy go but he shrugged it off. Instead he simply scooped Aldonza up into his arms, huffing softly in amusement at her sleepy whine at being so disturbed. Of course she could be petted and walked on by a flitter but she'd grumble about being moved. He walked with her over to Sfelyth and nudged the blue with a foot. "Oi, lazy. C'mon. I want out of here now." Sfelyth rumbled softly at his demanding rider and was tempted to refuse him if not for the armful of sleeping fluffball.
While Ae'on went about leaving, the final brown struggled with his egg. He didn't seem bothered by it if he's exciteable chittering from within the egg were anything to tell by. His movements seemed to be in vain, though, and he ended up withdrawing his legs into the shell once again. For several long moments nothing more happened even though small noises kept coming out of the shell. Then, slowly, the egg started to rock forward until it steadily started to roll around. Unfortunately, due to the egg's shape, it only ended up rolling along a fixed, circular path.
The egg came to a stop not long after the 12th lap of the circle when the brown inside seemed to notice that his plan wasn't working. Oh well! At least those leg hole were now on the bottom! He stuck his legs back through them and proceeded to waddle vaguely in the direction of people. He could hear them but he simply couldn't see them! He ended up wandering through some feet to end up at Annatolli's. He bumped right into one of her feet and uttered a delighted chirp. Hello! Help?

Puppy BrownName:Color: Brown #8C682F#2D1E05#E7C691Age: >1 Impressed to: Annatolli Appearance: He's not sleek and slim, nor is he lean and mean, he's more average. His length and height are a-typical for his species which means his legs, tail and neck are a perfect balance of power and aerodynamics. But the Puppy Brown has a pot belly! Its not a consequence from over eating and a diet won't trim him down, its just the way he's built. So instead of looking attractive and well built, the Brown has an overpoweringly adorable charm. His wings are slightly longer and a bit more broad so that they can lift his extra weight without much trouble at all. And he likes to spread them open and tilt them forward slightly while playing, making it appear like he has some sort of bandana around his neck. The Puppy Brown would have been a creamy mocha color, if not for the hundreds of small, coffee colored stripes that cover his entire body, with the exception of his wings, which sport the original mocha color. Brown that resembles a color close to black can be found surrounding his nostrils in a oblong circle, mimicking the image of a canine's nose. While on his feet (up to his ankles), the tips of his tails, and the very tips of his head knobs, can be found a sandy brown much the opposite in color than most of his other markings. This sandy color can also be found in a broken, thin semi-circle around the black of his nose. Personality: The Puppy Brown is the very reincarnation of, well, a puppy. Or at least he can seem like it at times. He's very excitable and, you can probably guess it, loves playtime. In fact, almost every moment of the day is play time, while he will always prefer to play tug of war with his Mine, the Brown will actively search out someone else willing to play with him if His is too busy. Whether it be someone passing by in the hall, a friend of His that he loves, or a child (or five) down in the creche. Because face it, who doesn't down deep in their heart, love to play? Speaking of love, the Puppy Brown loves all and loves freely as long as he isn't frightened by someone or his naive innocence isn't abused. But the person he loves above all else, is his Mine. Like a young child or puppy, the Brown will and has placed all of his trust in his Human, which means he is completely dependant and reliant on His. All of his loyalty is there too. He gets fed, and brought water, and played with, and loved! He would never ask for more than that. If His has enough patience and can realized that behind his overly playful, seemingly one track mind exterior, they will find that he has an almost eager will to learn new things. Tricks and commands will be soaked up like a sponge, though retraining will be needed every few weeks since his small little brain can only hold so much information. He loves showing off all his tricks to anyone willing to watch, they are special after all, His was the one who thought of them. Anger or despise seem to be foreign to the Puppy Brown, and aggression is all but non existent except in play form. He will of course, come to His's rescue if he feels like his Human is in danger, but he'll run on instinct then rather than experience. He lives and loves and forgets (or more often than not, doesn't understand) slights. Wouldn't the world be just so much more fun if everyone just joined him in a big old game of tag? That would definitely be the life!

Merridan snorted in laughter at the funny brown. Poor thing couldn't seem to get out of his shell. Well, the cute girl should be able to help him out, she shrugged. She was just thinking of collecting Vikky and her passengers when she caught T'ri's question. "Oh, sure," she passed him the bowl of meat. "Looks like I won't be needing it." He was one of Sel'n's students, she recalled, the unmotivated one. "She's quite pretty," she added with a wry smile. "Maybe she'll convince you to come to class." She didn't really think a fire lizard could, but it would be amusing if it were true.
~
Annatolli was entranced by the adorable fire lizards as they emerged one by one. They all had such cute personalities, she thought. None came towards her, but that was alright. It was almost as much fun just to watch. The last egg had her bursting into giggles. It was hard to feel bad for the silly creature, when he seemed to be having so much fun. She was laughing so hard as he rolled around, that she almost didn't realize he'd manage to waddle in her direction until he bumped into her. Her giggles stopped in surprise as she stared at four legged egg, then she beamed broadly.
"Look, Xelos!" she cried. "The funny one wants to be our friend!" Kneeling down, Anna gently rolled the egg over until she could see one of the egg holes. She got a finger in the hole and manage to break off enough shell for the brown to finish the job. He was handsome, Anna thought proudly, especially with his pale, little feet. The brown chirp loudly, delighted to be free, but he was very hungry now. If only there were...meat! He quickly located Anna's bowl of meat and practically dove into it. His mistress was so good to him! It was delicious!
Anna giggled. "Not too fast," she scolded, scooping him out of the bowl to feed by hand. Xelos leaned over her shoulder to get a closer look. He wasn't sure he liked this new fellow. He seemed nice, but Anna was his mistress. Who would appreciate his tricks when she had this interloper to play with? Leaning even closer Xelos growled slightly at the brown. The brown stared at him for a second, then promptly licked Xelos on the nose. Xelos reared back in surprise. "Aww, he likes you Xelos," Anna grinned, delighted her two fire lizards were getting along. Xelos trilled back happily. He decided the new brown was alright after all. So long as mistress Anna loved them both.
"You need a name," Anna continued brightly. "How about Noish?" The brown gave a barking chirp of happiness and nuzzled her hand. Anna beamed at Noish and Xelos. They were both so adorable and such darlings! Wasn't she just the luckiest girl in all of Pern?
