Hi all :3
First off I am around and I do lurk like a lot so I am not oblivious to the fact that some of you do stop in.
I want to restart the clock on the weyr. But that requites at least five of you to post. It will be restarting in May since we stopped time in April.
I'll be also spamming the add to try and get us some new people. If you want you can spam the new add places too if you have the time. (Just check and make sure it isn;t already posted first) I would appreciate it.
The first hatching SHOULD be Zep's wher one but that depends how many candidates we get. If we don't get any then the hatching will be behind the scenes and go to adoptables.
As far as Dragon clutches the first clutch will be Doryith. And I'll be writing the clutch unless Ember magically reappears to help me. That clutch probably won't happen till sometime around February or March depending on how much activity there is and now many new members the new add generates.
Thanks Ruby for your help with the add I really do super appreciate it.
Okay so you know the drill post here if you can be active. I won't do another activity check until this place has been decently active for a month. So toss your names at me darlings!
Love always, your lurking admin Rei

If activity picks up again I will restart the IC calender in November RL :3
That seems to be the time were the most of you can get active again ^^

Hi all my Sel loves!
Basically I wanted to place a quick note here and get some information from you all.
I haven't heard from Ember since the beginning of August so I am assuming she is so swamped with school that she has zero time for Sel. If you read this ember please pm me or e-mail me or something so I know what's going on with you and where you stand time wise. <3
What this means for now is that I am flying solo. Which really isn't so big a deal. I just need some information from the rest of you.
You may have noticed that in the past few months Sel has slowed to something of a crawl. This is because real life decided to bite us all in the ass at the same time. Whether it was work, school, or something else we've all been gobbled up by the monster that is RL.
Never fear! It can't hold us forever.
I got a new job at the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium in Arizona and have been averaging 115 to 120 hours minimum every two weeks on account of all the new exhibits and conferences that have been happening. Which is why I have just been ghosting the site basically. (I do check it everyday even if I don't log in or post on the CBox) Thankfully however, our super busy time with all that is drawing to a close which means I should be able to start being around more.
For now the site is in something of a freeze frame. It will remain the month of April ICLY until things get moving again. We don't have enough candidates and such to hold any hatchings anyway. I want this to change but don't feel pressured if IRL is killing you. I know how that is believe me.
What I need from you guys right now (even my lurking members <3) is just a short post of what is going on with you IRL and if you can be around or not. And if so how much time you can for sure dedicate to posting. Because I can't move anything along plot or hatching wise till I have some numbers :3
I also DESPERATELY need a new advertisement for the site. I myself have zero coding ability. I can probably come up with a fun little advertisement words wise, but graphically and stuff I would need major help. I don't know how to do eye catching graphics and I don't have the time to learn currently. So if anyone can help me with that please for faranth's sake shoot me a pm.
I love you all and never fear I'm not going anywhere or letting the site die. It just is in a break period it seems xD
Love you all and see you around and in the Cbox!

There was something about flight that brought out the playful vixen side in Feyrianth and she couldn’t resist a good tease. It was no fun if there wasn’t some element of emotion to it all anyway and so she put her all into her graceful twists and movements making sure to keep one amused whirling eye on her clutchbrother at all times. She was privately impressed by his recovery and she showed it by trilling in encouragement to him. Yes that’s right not allowed to give up the game. Not that she thought Craivaruth would. Oh no he was far too competitive and determined to give up quite that easily. The green loved males that rallied to a challenge and her brother never failed to give his all in things. The sudden flood of crimson to his gaze didn’t startle her. She was well used to the way her brother’s emotions often ran hot and she did not fear him. Not in the slightest. She trusted him far too much to fear him. He would never hurt her.
True to that prediction as he came at her Feyrianth held steady and then twisted to try and avoid him. She was too slow however and the outside curve of his talons brushed along her tail. With a happy trill the female looped and hovered as she tried to get a bearing on her bi-colored clutch sibling. I’m iiiiiit. She chorused as her wings tilted and she started a spiral down towards Craivaruth. Watch out, watch out! I’m going to get you~ She singsonged, much like her bonded might sing song to the hatchlings, as she sped after her brother in earnest working her wings as well as she could to build speed. She headed for him at an angle, ignoring that the rain had started to fall harder now.
Erilena couldn’t help but smile in a slightly satisfied way as J’ash sampled her cookies. If there was one thing Erilena prided herself on it was her baking, that and her dancing. They were the two things that she loved to indulge in both for others and just for herself. Oh she loved to dance with others, her husband especially, but she still liked to dance by herself in the rain and feel it kiss her skin. There was something liberating about it. A connection with herself and the elements, a way to just siphon off anything stressing her and come out of it feeling refreshed and cleansed again. Nothing else really gave her the release that dancing did. It was emotion in motion. Purely and simply. Those who could figure out how to read it could glance into her very soul and read her mind if they had the desire. Perhaps that was why the greenrider was so careful about who witnessed her private dances and always had been. Her hazel eyes flicked back to J’ash that easy smile still very present on her face as her friend’s own expression grew brighter and wider. Well whatever he was hiding it sure seemed to make him happy. That only sparked Erilena’s curiosity further. Hmm.
When the bluerider finally got to the point she was careful not to react immediately. She blinked once in surprise and then smiled. “Really?” After a careful pause she continued. Erilena didn’t want to seem unsupportive but she was a little, apprehensive. She knew she should be jumping out of her chair happy for him but there were reasons why she didn’t. Mainly because she had no desire for him to get hurt and there were some things he probably hadn’t thought of or completely through. Or maybe he had. Who knew? At any rate she kept her smile there but spoke in a curious tone. “Can I ask you something? Why joining? Why don’t you just transfer to Inverness and become weyrmates? It’s pretty much the weyr version of joining. Dragonriders…well they don’t really get joined J’ash. There isn’t even a harper to join you at a weyr either.” And really if she was being honest, same sex joinings just did not happen. Finding a harper that would agree to do one was incredibly rare. M’ta and R’wign had a hell of a time finding a hold that would agree at all. The greenrider didn’t even really think her husband would agree to do something like that. Not because he was against it or anything but because of what it could possibly do to his reputation should Harper Hall find out. They were…well very anti-homosexual. It very well could put him on a promotional black list.
Glancing back up at J’ash she gave him an apologetic smile. “It’s not that I think it’s not sweet. I do. I just…J’on is also very weyrbred. Most dragonriders just find joining stupid. Dmitri and I mainly did it to please my parents. Other than that we were both raised in holds so it felt right. And we ended up at a hold anyway so it’s not a real issue. But K’sel thought what I did was really stupid. A lot of my dragonrider friends probably did. Not that I regret it at all. I just want to make sure you are prepared for all the possible outcomes.”

Er’ani blinked at the younger man as he spoke and almost opened his mouth to comment but at the last moment decided better of it and just listened. Ah he was talking of the big water birds he had stumbled upon last summer sometime. With a small grin he nodded. Great. When it started getting a bit warmer he’d have to take another trip down there to see if he couldn’t get some for their feathers. He was pretty sure that Calypso and Lketh wouldn’t be averse to taking care of the leftovers and maybe he’d try a bit of the meat too and see if it was any good. He could even bring the kid with him maybe as a sort of thank you. If he stopped being such a downer anyway.
With that thought Er’ani’s dark eyes raised back to the candidate and he actually blinked in surprise when the hand was extended towards him. Still the rider didn’t hesitate even if he did wonder what the story was behind the slightly subdued look behind the candidates gaze. Striding forward the albinorider firmly grasped the candidates hand with a grin and shook it. “Well met Cathias.” A sort of humor danced in his dark colored eyes as the boy added onto the introduction and he couldn’t help but chuckle a bit. “Been there. What did you do? I was pretty much the worst kid anyone could have ever taught candidate lessons to at Benden. My brother was the perfect one.” With an amused grin he chuckled again. “Really he still is. That much at least hasn’t changed.” Nothing the direction Cathias’ gaze had taken Er’ani turned to look at Lketh again. The albino had his head canted as he chirped back to the birds and the young man couldn’t help but smile.
Turning back to Cathias he turned pensive. “Umm let’s see. Lketh and I will have been partners for eight turns this summer.” Tilting his head he looked back at the albino again. “Man. I really doesn’t seem like it’s been only eight turns. Feels like I’ve known him forever. He was so small when he was hatched and all wobbly and practically transparent he was so weak. His hatching was…well it was terrifying and probably one of the most earth shattering things I have ever been through.” A visible shudder ran through the rider’s frame and Lketh’s head snapped from the birds to look at the pair his eyes whirling in brighter reds as he crooned a low note to which Er’ani responded with a smile and a wrinkle of his nose. “He says that I was as white as him and pretty brave for a quivering boy.” Sticking his tongue playfully out at Lketh he turned back to Cathias. “But yeah eight turns this June. What color are you hoping to impress? Personally I wanted a brown but now I can’t imagine why I did.” With a shrug he offered the boy another easy smile. “What brought you so far out here by yourself anyway?” He added, letting a bit of his curiosity out in his tone.

If the bronzer thought to say something else about T’ri not supposedly being ‘so bad’ he kept his mouth shut. Mainly because he really had nothing good to say about him. He would rather have a green weyrling on his team then the bluerider. Someone he could craft. T’ri was a problem he honestly almost prayed he’d never get saddled with. If he did he’d deal with it but he would rather not have to. He couldn’t trust the man and when your lives and the lives of the holders were to be trusted to your wing you wanted people on it worthy of that trust. In Cr’oph’s opinion T’ri was not worthy. If he proved himself otherwise? Great. But so far he had yet to see or hear anything that endeared him to the man in the slightest. People changed over turns though. So who knew? Maybe someday he’d be someone worthy of a shred of trust. It remained to be seen.
The bronzer was patient however as he waited for K’sel’s opinion his grey eyes flickering from the brownrider and to Raven who had begun to shift. However the predatory bird just settled again to preen so Cr’oph’s full attention went back to K’sel just in time for the man to make an admission. The bronzer chuckled lightly. “Consider me warned then.” He returned warmly his eyes not moving from K’sel’s face. After the brownrider had finished he smiled and though the expression lacked its previous warmth it was not mocking, simply a bit weary. “Because they don’t really honestly see the big picture. I ask you what is so bad about the way things are now. None of the changes are that horrible. They live in Holds yes. But this is a small minority and no more dragonriders will be shuttled off to those places with the new searching guidelines.” The bronzer shook his head. “They seem to forget that when the interval comes we will need the holds to survive and if we piss them off and distance ourselves from them now when the time comes that we need them they will turn their backs to us and we will suffer. The holders are notour enemies. We should be working to improve relations with them not distancing ourselves from them further. People also seem to forget that the riders were part of the Summit too. We agreed with the changes they weren’t completely forced down our throat. It was a compromise. But no one seems to want to remember that. I’m not saying everyone is that blind but a lot of people are just angry and want it all overturned. They don’t even want to give it a further chance.”
A soft snort was offered before be continued. “I know I’m up against some intelligent opposition. Not saying anything will be easy. But then what’s worth the prize is always worth the fight and I refuse to be intimidated.” A small grin was flashed to K’sel. “Yes Mavenath is always harping on me about public relations. He’s sadly much better at it than me. I’m a tad too blunt but that’s why I have him a guess. Even if it is annoying sometimes having him pick apart my words.” A glance was given the lounging bronze, who looked nothing but lazy flopped out over his ledge his head canted to the side as he spoke to his golden dam and current mate Millieth. The bronze was incredibly proud of his offspring, who were rapidly nearing graduation, and he never missed a chance to try and further endear himself to the Sr. Queen in the hopes that when she rose again she would choose him a second time. Even if it was unlikely. Millieth never seemed to pick the same mate twice in a row even if she had mated with them previously. Back to back flights seemed not to be her thing. She was far less predictable then Baith.
With a final shrug Cr’oph rubbed his temple with his uninjured hand. “Regardless I suppose we’ll see what happens when the trials roll around. Today is promised to no one after all. I could very well not make it through the next fall.” Pushing off the wall he prodded gingerly at the bloodstained handkerchief. “I don’t suppose you are going to want this back?” A smile was offered Etti. “I could always return it when I bring Etti the treat she lost out on. Sorry again about him girl. If he didn’t occasionally make himself useful I’d consider making him into a feather duster.” It was an idle jest really. Cr’oph loved the razorclaw even if he would rarely if ever admit it. But then it was his only company besides Mavenath lately, what with M’kai and the rest of his family at Inverness, so maybe that wasn’t so surprising. Tilting his head his attention returned to K’sel. “Have time for some klah before you head off to visit your family or not?”

Had she not been patiently trying to filter out the backdrop of noise the murmuring dragons around her were making she might have missed it with how quietly he whispered. But Terilyn caught the end of Detrith’s mental whisper and locked onto his mental signature before carefully blocking out the others for now, leaving her with just the blue’s mental consciousness to concentrate on. It was an exercise she had been practicing since before she had learned to talk, the juggling of so many mental voices. Sometimes it was tiring but it had come to the point where it was comforting to hear them and if things were too silent it bothered her. The girl raised her head to turn it toward where the blue was lounging and locked eyes with him. He was pretty. Dark in coloration but a well put together beast. She tended to like blues a lot. There was not one who deigned not to speak to her and, though not all of them were overly friendly, their personalities were all as unique as their hides. Greens too were outgoing and tended to speak freely. Browns as well. It was the shiny ones who were a bit more snobbish. Even then she could normally charm something out of most of them. Some of them thought her a very interesting curiosity.
As Detrith landed Terilyn turned her body to face him and stood her ground smiling brightly up at the darkly colored blue. She thought to offer a hand to him as she often did Ruth but this was not her father’s dragon and she had learned that not all of the dragons liked to be touched. Some of them were more standoffish and they all needed to be treated with much respect. They were not anything like runners or dogs or cats. They were as varied as people and sometimes got offended just as easily. So she kept her hands at her sides and simply gazed up at the beast with nothing but confidence. There was not an ounce of fear in eyes or movement as she wrinkled her nose in response to his words. I didn’t mean to interrupt your nap. I’m sorry. And no I’m not hurt. I just need some help and I was hoping that someone would be able to assist me. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me. Stepping further towards him she examined the elegant lines to his neck the deep color to his hide and the tapering of his muzzle. A very elegant looking beast even if he was on the thin side. I’m trying to get away from a bad situation and I have the need for wings to carry me you see. She had begun before she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and her head turned in unintentional synch with Detrith’s
Before Terilyn could form the words to the question that sprang into her mind the blue had already answered the question. Ah so then this man was his rider. Well then seemed she would have to try and charm both dragon and rider at the same time. She was hoping she could endear herself to the dragon before attempting the rider. Doing both at once was more of a challenge. But it was not challenge she would run from. Not at all. “Hello there.” Terilyn said brightly to T’vis and affected an innocent air. “I was just telling him that I needed some help. Maybe you both would be able to help me?” Suddenly she covered her mouth with her hand and offered him an apologetic look before lowering it. “I’m sorry. I forget my manners. I’m Terilyn. I’m afraid I haven’t gotten your name yet? I already know Detrith’s. I’ve heard him speak it. I’m afraid I don’t follow the names of the riders as well as I should.” That at least was the truth. The dragons always had ranked as far more important in her mind. She knew almost all of their names, and could recognize most by sight alone. It was hard to forget any of them. This perhaps wasn’t so amazing when you came to the realization that she had grown up in tune with all these minds.

His words and reassurances were comforting in their own way. But only up to a point. In reality all she wanted was something concrete. Erilena had always been a tactile person and that hadn’t ever changed. So when K’sel scooted forward to envelope her in his arms she melded herself to him and gave into his embrace, actually clinging back to him in a slightly desperate manner for a moment. As if she was afraid that he would pull away too soon. But when it seemed that the brownrider had no intentions of pulling away from her she relaxed and nodded.
“I think that sounds like a good idea.” She uttered in a more together tone. All the greenrider wanted was to put the whole thing past them. It didn’t really matter right now anyway did it? All these opinions and stupid hurt feelings. She honestly hadn’t meant to make him feel so bad. Nor herself either. It was better if they just started over right? A gentle and amused mental brush from Feyrianth only reaffirmed that thought and as the green shifted to press more closely with the brown Erilena did so too with K’sel in an unconscious mirror.
Finally opening her hazel eyes to again regard her adoptive brother she gave a small smile. “So are you ever going to grow that beard back or is it banished for all eternity?” She asked genuinely curious. “I suppose I might have doomed it for all eternity the morning I killed it in your sleep.” Her smile getting a little bolder she glanced around them at their surroundings. “I see that Mojo hasn’t lost his trickster side either. Grim’s with the kids assuring himself that Elysia isn’t going to eat them I suppose.” With that she wrinkled her nose. “I think it’s probably going to be the other way around to be honest. Poor Elysia is not the domestic sort at all.” Nope despite having one of her own she was most times still remarkably awkward with any child that was not Elias for the most part. Still despite the fact that their kids were probably terrorizing their step grandmother Erilena had no current desire to leave just yet. She wanted to hold and cuddle her kids yes. But she also was simply just reluctant to move. The flight had taken a lot out of Feyrianth and that fatigue carried over quite well.
The blonde tried to fix her hair a little as she allowed herself to relax a little more. One annoying thing about hay, no matter how careful you were it got everywhere and sadly dragon flights never fell into the careful category. Reaching over she picked a long piece of the dried grass out of K’sel’s hair, simply because it had been bugging her. “You look like a scarecrow.” She finally said her voice infused with amusement. “You ever sleep in any barns when you were playing hobo? I already know you teased young greenriders and entertained them with stories of flutes made of the bones of murdered men.”

Er’ani actually tightened his grip on his bow when the boy threw the stick. To his credit however he didn’t move to draw and arrow from the quiver sitting on his back. It was a reaction born of turns of acting first and asking questions later. One didn’t live in war by reacting last. No, Er’ani had not wanted to kill as many as he had. He hadn’t even wanted to fight in the first place. Lketh had been far less emotional about it. The albino had been like a reaper bringing death on the field. Strict precision and the duty to kill was all he worried about. There had been a target on their backs after all and there had been no time for questions and no room for thought. The albinorider still found himself wondering all the what ifs at times. What if he hadn’t needed to kill that bluerider? What if he had let that woman live? His dragon had no such problems. Sometimes the man wondered why that never bothered Lketh. To have no moral issues or hang ups at all. For everything to just be strictly this or that with no room for further emotion. He was connected to the beast and so he understood the way the dragon thought but it just seemed so…odd sometimes, how eerily calm the white always was. It seemed a blessing and yet a curse.
While his mind was on that tangent Er’ani had started to relax a little, his grip on his weapon loosening as his dark eyes flicked back to Cathias. A brief look of surprise crossed the young man’s features. He had expected the little twerp just to stalk away after this fit of pique but no. Instead he uttered a question and in a decent tone too. Running a hand through his unruly hair the rider managed something of a smile even if it was a bit awkward. “I suppose you could say that? One of us was anyway. I was practicing my shot till he was done.” Er’ani smoothed out some of the feathers fixed to the sleeves of his jacket. “Still looking for some decent sized ducks or a nice wherry though. Running low on decent feathers again.” He continued as he flicked the end of one of the arrows by way of explanation.
Deciding that he had had about enough of playing awkward the albinorider pushed on. “Do you do any hunting? I don’t do that much to be honest. Maybe it’s kind of silly but I’ve really had my fill of living targets. Unless I need it for something it just seems so…pointless.” With a shrug he stowed away his bow and took a deep breath of the air. “Er’ani of Albino Lketh. You would be?”
Lketh had been aware as always of his bonded’s mind and emotions and his attention only flickered briefly to the man when he began to think of the killing time again. Silly man. He need not think of it so often anymore. But he supposed that was the problem with humans. They never stopped thinking. Dipping his head towards the water the albino dragon took a long drink from the chilled stream and then lifted his head to gaze at the songbirds bravely scolding him in their nearby tree. His pink eyes swirled in a placidly slow manner as he watched them flit from branch to branch his tail lazily curling about his haunches. Such loud things they were for things so tiny. Risking a glance back at the humans he snorted softly. They looked like two porcupines in a stare down still.

Dileina clapped her gloved hands together and smiled brightly at the bronzer before she moved to make a show of examining his snow mandyr. “She looks lovely!” The little blonde finally exclaimed before turning to beam proudly at her little snow mandyr subjects. “Do you think mine look good?” She asked M’gnum brightly obviously proud of her work. No they weren’t perfect, but she was confident that people could tell what they were. “I think we did and awesome job.” The girl finally said with a decisive nod of her head. Turning she reached for M’gnum’s hand. “Do you think mommy and Emitre are done yet?” She asked the tall bronzer as she huddled closer to him for warmth. She was getting a bit chilled and really wanted something warm to drink now. Maybe when they were done they could all have some hot cider? That would be nice.
Emitre had his face scrunched up in concentration as he added the final small broken sticks to the snow wher’s open mouth to complete his snarl. Pleased he pulled back and grinned up at his mother. “I think he looks pretty good don’t you?” He asked her hopefully before shifting close enough that he could huddle up against her side. Smiling Erilena wrapped her arm around her little boy to pull him closer to her side. “I think Dmisk would be proud to know he was a model of such ferocity.” She agreed before crouching down to tug Emitre’s hat back over his cold reddened ears. Really should have gotten him a smaller one. She thought to herself before her boy caught her gaze with his own and her attention went solely to those blue eyes that were so much like his father’s. “I think we make a really good team mom.” He remarked suddenly before throwing his arms around her neck in a sudden hug. Hugging her boy back tightly the greenrider kissed his forehead before pulling back and offering him an affectionate smile. “I think so too sweetheart.” The greenrider said softly before straightening back to her full height and taking his hand. “Come on kiddo. Let’s find our opponents and maybe get something warm to drink. Does that sound good?” Nodding Emitre gladly took his mother’s hand and let her lead them across the field towards his sister and the bronzer.
When they got close enough Emitre waved his hand excitedly at his sister and the girl gave M’gnum a final smile before racing over to her brother to hug him. “Look Emit! Look at my mandyrs! Don’t they look good?” She asked her brother excitedly before pointing to them. While the twins were preoccupied with the snow mandyrs Erilena made her way over to M’gnum and smiled warmly at the bronzer. “Thank you so much for humoring them. I think maybe we should call it a tie in the end and see if we can’t redirect them to some warm food and drink? They’re getting pretty chilled and tired by this point so I don’t think it should be all that hard to do.” The blonde finished with a smile. “You of course are more than welcome to join us. We don’t have to meet Dmitri for a few candlemarks yet. Harper Hall has been keeping him pretty busy this gather. Unless you have other plans?”

Cr’oph shrugged. “Gotta learn sometime I suppose. Four or not.” With that the red head continued. “I don’t think not believing in things that are not real harms my daughter in the least. Not all kids run around believing in monsters and goblins you know. Some of them live in horror stories. Thankfully I think both our kids are blessed in ways some of us were not when younger. A world at war is not a good one to grow up in no matter who you are. If you participate in it you become lost without it, and if your parents try and shelter you from it they do you a great injustice and put you in even greater danger. Being fooled every once in a while is much better than being a fool. I would agree with you there. Regardless of how our kids are raised I don’t see either of us being wrong? Simply a difference of opinion in the end.” He offered the brownrider as a sort of compromise with a small smile.
Leaning back against the stone wall the taller of the men chuckled. “ Well recreational visits are better than assigned ones I dare imagine.” Slightly rubbing his wrapped hand he shook his head in light amusement. “I’ve heard of your brother yes. Lazy and opinionated sort. I was more than happy not to be saddled with him on my wing. I might have had to wring his neck. Sad to say he’s not one of my favorite riders in the place. I've kept a careful eye on what’s going on about the place lately. Things worry me you see.” A small frown graced Cr’oph’s features. “I plan to do my damn hardest to make sure that my child, and everyone else’s, never has to live through the same amount of crap I did. Dragon riding is dangerous enough without having to worry about your neighbor also putting a knife in your back.”
The bronzer snorted softly then. “The complaining, bitching, and unrest from the more spoiled and blind of our lot lately bothers me. It’s like no one can see the big picture and all anyone cares about is what directly affects them. Dragonriders were developed to serve Pern, not lord over it. It seems like a lot of people forget that we are no more important than the common man. We do a great service but it doesn’t make our existence any more important than theirs. In fact if it wasn’t for their support, and tithes of the holders, a weyr could never support itself. I suppose not everyone can understand that though.” Cr’oph mused aloud before giving a sudden slightly bitter chuckle.
“My apologies K’sel. I suppose I’m in a venting mood and you’re right here. I forget my manners sometimes but I suppose I just want verification that I am not insane. I really don’t see why there is so much bitching over this ban on crafters? They should have never been searched in the first place. They do Pern a greater service in the holds and in the crafts they chose to pursue. I suppose people just want to have their cake and be able to eat it too.” The bronzer’s expression grew stoic. If he had any say over it things were not going to change much in the least.
Mavenath gave him as good a shot as any other man at winning the trials in the end and Cr’oph was bound and determined to give it his best try. Besides, Mavenath was born out of Salenth, arguably one of the most successful bronzes on Pern. And his mother wasn’t half bad either. Whether she birthed mutations and had a temper or not Millieth was one powerful gold. A bit of a bitch and a hot head yes, but when her weyr needed her she never failed to step up. No the bronzer knew he had the mindmate area covered, what he needed to work on was himself. He had been grooming himself for this for over six turns. It would soon be time to see if his efforts would bear fruit. K’sel was just something of a practice run currently. The brownrider was a hard one to read and the bronzer was subtlety testing how the Inverness rider reacted to him. So far it seemed so good. He was well aware that he might have slightly offended the man what with the comments on children but it didn’t seem like the offense had been that severe.
What Cr’oph needed was a few educated opinions and here was a bright brain ripe for the picking. Yes the brownrider could be of some use. However unintentional that actual help was. The bronzerider’s grey eyes came to rest on the other man again. “I’d like your opinion on the way things are if you’ll give it is what I am trying to say I guess.”

Oh but she was waiting. Feyrianth trilled teasingly as Craivaruth dove for her and at the last second she snapped her wings shut on one side and swung her tail to tilt herself into a roll causing the bisected blue to miss her by mere inches. Knowing he would be on her tail quite literally as soon as he managed to arrest his fall she swung back on herself to head in the other direction, her wings working double hard to send her away from her brother as fast as possible. There was no way that the female was letting him catch her quite that easily after all. The first of her transparent lids fell over her eyes as the drizzle increased and she felt the droplets splash against her shimmering hide. A joyous cry was offered to the heavens before Feyrianth dared to glance back at Craivaruth her tail snapping teasingly at him. Come now brothermine. I know you can do much better than that.
Stepping in time with the other man wasn’t that hard. Though, Erilena was used to dancing with Dmitri who seemed to read her mind when they partnered up thus dancing with J’ash was quite different. It wasn’t quite as smooth but it looked lovely nevertheless. The bluerider’s enthusiasm for it was charming after all. Giggling in a slightly breathless manner the greenrider responded. “I’m glad Harper likes you. He’s a great guard dog so it just surprised me is all. You haven’t seen him for a while so it’s nice that he actually remembered you.” Trailing off to let him get his comment in she wrinkled her nose. “Well don’t say that to him. He might actually worry about you then, and that wouldn’t be a goooooood thing.” Not that Dmitri really had anything to worry about but it was human nature to worry about things, and his wife being all alone in the house with another man was probably something anyone would worry about no matter who was involved. Jealousy was a funny thing after all.
Smiling at his comments about his hair Erilena refrained from commenting. She wasn’t really joking but she wasn’t going to push the matter on him. One day maybe he’d get it cut but it really wasn’t her place to force it upon him. Thus the woman only kept up an easy smile and laughed as he twirled her about. Stepping opposite to his footwork she put her own dramatic flair into her own movements before easing back to her partner in time for a question to be tossed her way. “Glad you are doing so well!” She responded cheerfully a curious look being offered his expression before her attention fell back upon his questions. “I’ve been good. More than good actually. The kids are doing well. Works been going well and Dmitri is teaching a bit at Harper Hall now. The Master Harpers were interested in his instrument so he is teaching others how to play it.” Her smile grew brighter. “I’m so proud of him.” Her footwork slowing a bit she tilted her head to catch the rest of his questions.
“So then you really came to see them huh?” She teased J’ash before continuing on. “They’re with my parents right now actually. Spending some time with Grandma and Grandpa and their cousins. They won’t be home till later on in the evening. Unless you want to stay on into dinner you’ll just have to come back at another point soon to get in some time with the munchkins. They haven’t seen you in a while so I’m sure they’ll be really excited to see you again.” A laugh bubbled up at the final question the bluerider asked and Erilena slipped easily into a final stance before dropping her arms and bouncing towards the kitchen. “Now, now J’ash not fair to ask a joined lady such questions about another man.” She teased as she entered the room to put some water on to boil. “Make yourself comfortable in there. I’ll be back in a moment.” The blonde called back before reaching for a plate and some cookies and striding back into the living area with them.
Offering him a cookie from the plate before setting it down on the small table before the couch, she then slipped into a chair near him and smiled. “Sooooo I can tell you have some type of news. Spill.” She encouraged with a small pout. “I only get the normal holder gossip here after all.”

Okay lets do Els and hmmmm well E'rro would be the obvious choice but I'm tempted to go for Cavelieran instead since it might be interesting. ><
