What better way to do chores than by sticking close to home? General Weyr Service meant a lot of things, but it also meant that Alaid could clean the Weyrling Barracks as part of her work, which pleased her, knowing especially that Aorath was nearby that she could run to for comfort, if she needed it. Alaid had grabbed an old cloth and was dusting the desks in the classroom, intent on sweeping once she was done. Every now and then, dust would fly into her nose, causing her to squeakily sneeze.
The raven-haired girl shook her head after one of these, trying to clear her nose before a particularly violent fit came after it. Sniffling, she got back to work, ignoring Aorath's insistence that she quit worrying about the dust and sweep so she could get back to her. Alaid would normally have been more than happy to oblige. However, as it stood, she was being relaxed by the easy tasks and the being alone and wasn't in any big hurry.
I'm glad to see you relaxing, Aorath informed her, making the girl give a rare smile, her gray eyes turning in the direction of her bonded in a different room. Warmth seemed to spread between them as Alaid continued to dust, suddenly humming softly. She felt so good, and it didn't seem to occur to her for the moment that it was a bad thing in the slightest.
