J’on snarled silently as he scraped the discarded contests of used plates into a slop bucket. Would it really kill people to just take what they wanted instead of leaving half their food for him to throw away? Would it? What was really worrying J’on at this point though was that, aside from the occasional bread crust or half chewed wobbly thing, the contents of the slop bucket was really starting to look a great deal like the contents of the stew pot.
With a clatter and a great splosh of soapy water J’on dropped the grimy plates into the sink, and ran off to empty the bucket before the contents really was mistaken for the meal. Really the way the dragons did things was much better, most of the time they didn’t even leave the bones, mind you a whole herdbeast skeleton would probably need more carting away than just one bucket.
Roshya looked at the ovine shoulder she was supposed to be reducing, with the aid of the sharp, heavy knife in her hand, to stewing meat. On one hand she supposed it meant she was trusted not to add her own fingers to the pot, but on the other hand it was long, tedious work. Cut meat away from the bone, slice, cube, throw in waiting pot, repeat. No wonder this was her punishment chore.
