It was hot again. As As'lin wiped the sweat off his forehead, he glared up at Rukbat. It hadn't ever gotten cold this winter, it seemed. Maybe that was simply the differance between the North and the South, but it seemed that everyone else had felt the heat too. At least he got to work out on the water, where it was a little cooler. He'd been doing inside chores a lot lately, but he'd been given boat chores twice in a row now, and was watching his skin darken back to the nut brown he was used to. He wasn't sure how he felt about it, but it wasn't a bad thing, really. It reminded him of his family, and he sighed briefly. He had no idea where they were, and no idea how to tell them that he'd impressed. Stillith was approaching a year old... soon they'd be able to fly, and maybe they could find his family together. Most likely not.
The tied up boat, waiting for passengers, rocked, and As'lin stumbled a little. As he looked over the side to see what had caused the disturbance, he smiled. Sitting in the boat, he trailed a hand in the water, smiling down at the blue form dodging back under the boat so as not to be seen. "Come out, Stil, I see you," he said, eying the blue's lashing tail. There was no response from the creature hiding under the boat, and As'lin looked pointedly at Zora, who was perched in the prow. The brown took off and dove into the water immediately, and Stillith was quickly chased out from under the boat. As'lin scratched the blue between his eye-ridges, watching other boats come in to shore, dropping their passengers off. Soon As'lin's shift would be over, and he'd pull his boat in, but for now he had time for maybe one more passenger, or a bit of conversation with another Weyrling. Either way.
