Stretching out over the arms of his chair, the Weyrlingmaster let his head fall back, changing his line of sight from the door to the ceiling. It was turning out to be a bad day for F'rah, his body and mind felt as though they had been ladened down with bricks of stone, and he was feeling distracted. This of course, was not how the usually chipper Brownrider acted, but everyone has their off days now and again. F'rah had deduced that maybe he felt this way because he was coming down with something, as to what it was, he couldn't be sure... but when he thought about it, that was the only explanation that really fit, at least to him it did. But what he felt was more like an emotional drain, rather than a physical one, but he was determined to ignore that fact. The Weyrlingmaster didn't want to believe that he could be so emotionally down when he was almost always so upbeat and happy, he truly rather think he was getting sick, so therefore the self-prognosis was an oncoming illness.
/Are you sleepy Mine?/ Just a little. My head feels so full. /You should go to the Healers, maybe they could fix you up if you're getting sick./ I will, later on... I promise. Now would you be a dear, and call the Weyrlings? /Of course... are you sure you're not hungover?/ No! Of course not. I didn't even drink that much last night, and I'm sure, two cups of Wine wouldn't even make me tipsy, at my weight and all.
/Junior Weyrlings! Rise and Shine my young ones! It is time for your Lesson, and tell all of Your's to bring your Riding Leathers, we shall be inspecting them today. And might even be using them, isn't that an exciting thought./
Crossing his legs, the Brownrider stretched his back before moving so that his legs draped over one arm and his head rested on the other, propping the book he had laying on his chest up so he could return to reading it. The Book itself was a favorite of the Man's, it was a story about a little Brown Dragon and his young Rider who overcame their troubles, fight the bad guys and were finally able to ride through the skies peacefully together, the pair becoming one of the greatest fighters of all time. The story was fictional, but the way it was written made it seem so real, like the Brownpair were actually somewhere out there. Reading this book had always put F'rah in a better mood, but today, it didn't seem to be working all that well. It did make him feel a little better, though it wouldn't bring him back to the usual one hundred percent. "Maybe... maybe seeing the kids flying today will make me feel better. I've been couped up for a while... the fresh air will do me some good. I really hope it does." Sighing slightly as he spoke to the words in his book, the Weyrlingmaster began to scan the pages once more, trying his hardest to perk up even more before the Students came.

To the left... left... good! That is the spot. Hepaticath informed hers, craning her bright head around on her neck to examine Hers' work at oiling a dry patch on her hindquarters. The gold had awakened itching abominably, and, thankfully, Savitri had already taken care of her own morning routine before Hepaticath got herself out of her little couch. The goldpair had their own room now, which was an odd feeling for them both. Considering how big Hepaticath was getting, Savitri could scarcely protest either. She had enjoyed her roommate, but poor Roshya had probably been disturbed by the amount of activity that Savitri was into. The gold weyrling was in bed later and up earlier... busy, busy, busy. An oddity, she was.
Now she was just putting the finishing touches on her mindmate's shining hide, and the young woman was quite satisfied with a job done well. Hepaticath no longer itched, and she looked lovely, though that could have been Savitri's biased affection speaking. One oily hand affectionately patted the flank before her, and then the weyrling was off to clean her hands. Her hands felt moist and smooth, a rather odd feeling overall that she was unsure she liked. Her compulsive cleaning had barely finished before Hepaticath nudged her from behind and alerted her to the fact that they had lessons. Bring your leathers, Mine. I think we are to fly more today. the gold was saying excitedly.
Savitri, furious at herself for not being prepared earlier, immediately began to scurry around. Her riding equipment was all lined up, and she quickly slipped into her boots, checking over her clothes to make sure they were prepared for riding. She grabbed up the rest of her riding gear and draped the straps over her arm and then was out the door, grumbling at herself. Ridiculous! She had spent too much time lounging before Hepaticath woke up and had not been prepared for lessons. She needed to work on that in the future.
Hepaticath was far too large to fit in the classroom and headed outside to lounge in the sunshine, stretching lazily and then lying down, wings half-opened to catch the sun. She was eager to fly but content to wait, sensing Hers' fussing as the young woman made her way into the classroom. "Good day, weyrlingmaster," Savitri was saying as she settled herself down in one of the desks in the front, not bothering to be shy. With attendance as horrid as it had been, it was not as though someone else was clamoring to sit up front. And it would have been rude to linger in the back while F'rah was seated up front. F'rah looked rather terrible, though, and she frowned in concern. "Weyrlingmaster...? Are you all right?"

/I told them all to come./ Thank you my Friend. Closing his eyes as he rubbed the bridge of his nose, F'rah's thought process wondered onto Laurie, which then made his mind connect her name with the fact he had appointed her a Weyrlingmaster. Whether or not it he had made a mistake was still in the process of forming, but so far, the Greenrider seemed to be doing a fine job with the Seniors. Seniors. Massacre. Benden. Fighting. E'rro. Healing. Infirmary... His mind was making and dropping connections like there was no tomorrow, and with nothing to focus on, he was starting to get massively distracted. Sighing, the Weyrlingmaster nearly dropped his book on the floor as the Goldweyrling's voice entered his thoughts, and for a few moments he thought he was hallucinating it.
"Oh. Hello Savitri." Removing his legs from the arm of the chair, F'rah settled himself into the proper way of chair sitting, feet touching the floor and back against the leather. "I'm fine. Just a little... distracted." And almost as to prove his point, the Weyrlingmaster's attention jumped to his Brown and Her Gold outside, inspecting the Dragons carefully. "... She's grown so big. She's bigger than Aezanth was..." Realizing he had regressed again, the Weyrlingmaster ran a hand through his long hair, suddenly thinking he should get a hair cut. "I'm sorry. I suppose I'm coming down with something. I called Kalierre Claire at the Gather the other day... I only mess up names when I'm getting sick. But for now, I'm fine. Just no running for me." He didn't want his students having to worry about his health, but from what he'd seen so far, Savitri seemed to have an eye for detail. It wasn't worth lying to her anyways, plus, it probably was a good idea to have at least one of his students know that he was wasn't feeling well. In case he suddenly collapsed or something along those lines.
"Well since you're the only one here so far, I guess It wouldn't hurt to tell you what we shall be doing today." Nodding mainly to himself, F'rah interlaced his fingers before placing his elbows on the arms of his chair, resting his chin on them. "Today we will be taking off from Ground Level, and start to learn what our Weyr looks like from the sky. The Dragons might be bigger now, but they still don't have the strength to keep both Rider and themselves in the sky for long. So there will be short breaks every ten or fifteen minutes. We don't want to stress the Dragon's muscles to much."

Savitri frowned in concern upon the realization that she had badly startled the weyrlingmaster, and an apologetic smile flickered across her face. Distracted, hmm? She relaxed in her chair a bit, though her green eyes roamed the weyrlingmaster's face anyway as a precaution. She would rather be accused of being too observant than to miss a crucial fact and have the weyrlingmaster collapse due to exhaustion. He was at least sitting properly now, though, so perhaps he had just been distracted.... or... not. "If you're coming down with something, you shouldn't exert yourself or between. I think the class would understand if you had to go to the infirmary and cancel class for today," she said kindly, simply, knowing he would not take it well. But she was a healer at the core, and unwell people brought the less tactful side of her out to play.
Shifting in her chair, the weyrling nodded her understanding of his explanation of the lesson plans for the day. Hepaticath would be delighted to get airborne yet again, though it was a source of great irritation for both dragon and rider that the young gold was not nearly as graceful as they both would have liked. Fast growth to a significant size made for noticeable and unavoidable clumsiness, and the little queen was no exception to that rule. Overhearing Hers' thoughts, Hepaticath stirred outside, arching her neck and crooning in quiet excitement. Good day, Styth. We are to fly today... if my clutchmates arrive. Are they not able to attend? she inquired curiously of her teacher, head inclined to one side.
"Hepaticath is excited to fly, once her clutchmates get here," the young woman commented, offering up a mild smile to indicate her own enthusiasm for the prospect of flight. Hepaticath would look almost grotesque in flight in comparison to the blues and greens, but grace would come with age... and a great deal of practice. "We're going to need to learn references for when we learn to between, correct? And how to hunt?" The thought of Hepaticath hunting in her clumsy state elicited a snort of amusement, her eyes dancing as she gave the weyrlingmaster a rueful smile. "She and I need to work on her coordination some."
Where were those classmates of hers?!

Once again, As'lin was late. His resolve of last lesson to be on time from now on had obviously failed him. No excuses this time, though- he'd simply slept in. Stillith too. Fabulous. It had been Styth's familiar voice that awoken the pair, and both had sprung out of bed and rushed to Lessons, without even looking for M'kier. The boys weren't close- it wasn't As'lin's duty to look after his roommate after all, especially when they were late!
Stillith went out to join Hepaticath, offering his usual shy Good morning to her and Styth, as As'lin panted into the classroom, straps in a tangled mass over his shoulder. He slumped into the desk next to Savitri, rubbing at one eye before addressing either of his two companions. "Apologies, Weyrlingmaster," he offered first, and then detangled his straps from his arm and very deliberately turned to Savitri, a bit of mischief in his eye, and said "And good morning to you, Savitri of Hepaticath," referencing last time when he failed to greet her. Despite his lateness and just-woken state, As'lin was in a fairly good mood- good enough that he didn't even notice how bad F'rah truly did look.

"The lesson will go on, I'm strong enough to go on, though. Thank you for your concern Savitri." Rocking to his feet, F'rah crossed the classroom to stand in front of the window, letting his gaze wonder over the two Dragons that were currently residing outside. One was metallic and the other was a more earthy tone, it almost seemed odd to think that the small Gold would grow larger than the Brown, most likely after only a year in her life. What was funny was that each of the Selenitas Queens had such different personalities... though, thinking about it, it wasn't so funny after all. All Dragons had different feelings and morals, just like Humans, so it shouldn't be odd that they had different thought patterns. Or should it? It really all depended on perspective and the power of nurturing, and the habitat that you grew up in. Stroking his chin, which he had not shaved, as he thought, F'rah was brought back to reality as he felt Styth respond to the little Queen.
/Good Morn, Hepaticath. I do believe, that if they arrive at the classroom, after Mine has locked it, they will not be able to attend the Flying lessons... Oh, Good Morn Stillith. I am glad you, and Yours have decided to join us today./
"Quite correct Savitri. We will start some exercises to help ease the process of Betweening, simple ways to remember exactly where you want to go. Which is why, you shall be tested eventually on the layout of the Weyr from the sky." Pivoting around from the window to face the Goldweyrling, the Weyrlingmaster paced back over to his desk, rubbing his brow with his forefinger and thumb. He had just begun to scratch something down on the attendance sheet when As'lin entered through the door and greeted them, forcing him to glance up before finishing what he was about to do. "Don't get yourself comfortable As'lin, we're just about to go. I hope you brought your Leathers." Stretching over his desk to get his scroll bag, F'rah grunted as he had to reach far to get it, finally retrieving it a few moments later. Stuffing the attendance roster and his other papers into the bag, the Weyrlingmaster fastened it shut before turning around. "I'm going to fly with Styth over to the Meadow by the River, but I'd like the both of you to strap up your Dragons and walk there." The leather strap of his bag circled over his head and onto his shoulder in one fluid movement as he spoke, although his adjusting of the strap was a bit more fidgety. "Alright lets go." Styth! Outside the window, hmm?
Crossing over to the window with a wink toward the teens, F'rah pulled one open and stepped out onto the sill and closing the window behind him, jumping as soon as the Brown was in reach. Fortunately for the Weyrlingmaster, the Windowsill was at a good height for him to be able to grasp at the correct straps, making it able for him to climb up into his sitting area. His little stunt looked as if it could have been thought about, since he had stood at the window only minutes before, but in fact it was completely impromptu. So much for taking it easy today.

Savitri smirked slightly as As'lin finally made his rather late arrival, arching an eyebrow at the picture he presented. Not very prepared today, was he? His straps were a royal mess, and she sighed softly at the realization that she might very well have to help him out. Or... well, no, she wouldn't. He was experienced enough to manage on his own. "Good morning, As'lin. Nice of you to join us," she replied drolly, getting to her feet as F'rah started to put together his things. She nodded in understanding of his instructions, smiling broadly as she sensed Hepaticath's excitement at the thought of seeing the weyr from the air. Her smile faded quickly as F'rah pulled a rather odd stunt, and she huffed softly. That was not a good idea.
Hepaticath, please do not relay to Styth how annoyed I am with His risking his neck like that. He's going to make himself worse exerting himself like that... she ranted to her dragon before nodding at As'lin and then sweeping out of the room, arms full of her riding straps and gear. Good morning, Stillith. Hepaticath was saying politely, crooning softly at the little blue. Hers' thoughts had her rather distracted, though, and the gold inclined her bright head to one side and then lightly touched on the mind of their instructing dragon, ignoring Savitri's request. Mine is worried about Yours. She does not want him to get sick and have to take him to the infirmary. And feed him disgusting medicines, but Hepaticath wisely did not add that small detail. Hers was not that mad yet.
Savitri reached her mindmate, unaware that the dragon had tattled on her concern. The riding gear was set aside in favor of the straps, and she began to work diligently on adjusting them to Hepaticath's neck. She had to make new straps more frequently than the others, but these, thankfully, were not brand new and needing to be broken in. She had had these for several sevendays and was maintaining them quite diligently, and it did not take much work to get Hepaticath ready to go. Her gaze strayed to As'lin and Stillith for a brief moment, and she waited for them to finish before moving off toward the meadow, searching the skies for Styth as they got closer. Where was their teacher at?
((Short, but... eh. Not sure what to write. x.o)

/Your's is not the only one, I'm not happy with what he did either! But I wasn't going to let him jump without me being there. Mine can be oh so... rambunctious./
Sliding off of Styth as they landed, F'rah crouched to steady his balance, his head felt as though it was stuffed with cotton. Not good. "Brownie, will you take my pack to our Weyr? I should stay here and wait for the Weyrlings to come." /You alright Rahmine?/ "I'm fine, don't worry." /Fine. But you don't go jumping out of a tree or something while I'm gone./ "Deal." Getting up, the Weyrlingmaster quietly moved away so that Styth could pace past him to get into the air, happily watching him Between to get to their Weyr faster. The grass in the middle of the meadow was rather tall, it almost swallowed the Brownrider as he sat down, only his head poking out and giving his position away. Shifting his body so that only his hair and eyes peeked out from the curtain of greens, watching as his two Weyrlings and their Dragons came closer.
Slowly getting to his feet, F'rah waved to his students, flagging them over to his position. Waiting until they arrived, the Weyrlingmaster grinned up at them as he shaded Rukbat's rays from his eyes. "Okay! Heres the deal! This Meadow is where you will be taking off, one at a time you will start at the West end of the field. Stillith you might need to take around four or five long paces before you'll be able to take off, and Hepaticath, you're most likely going to have to take six or seven." Tilting his head slightly, F'rah continued. "When you feel as though you are catching enough air, leap. Don't be afraid to stop and try again, taking off from the ground feels a little bit different from taking off from a hill. Styth and I shall show the lot of you how, by example." Glancing up as a quiet pop drifted toward him, the Weyrlingmaster followed the Brown's decent with his eyes. "Alright, Styth and I shall go first, so please have your Dragons stand on either the North or South side of the field."
Offering a thumbs up to both of his pupils and their companions, the Brownrider quietly made his way over to the awaiting Styth, climbing into his leathers with assistance from his Brown. Kay, we're taking off from the west end, and showing them exactly how to take off. /Got it./ His straps had been recently polished, but he wasn't the one to get them that way... it made him wonder. No, he wasn't going to be distracted right now. Focusing his eyes on the back of Styth's head, F'rah felt the Brown shift his body as he turned to face the East end of the Field. The sudden movement of the Brown's body was so familiar it hardly startled the Weyrlingmaster, his frame moving with the footfalls of the Dragon. One, two, three, four and off they went. The Dragon-pair leaping into the sky as they began to feel light, switching direction so that they could circle the clearing while the two got into the air, the Weyrlingmaster sighed. "Maybe I should go to the healer's after this."
