Sel’n nodded politely in greeting as the people started to file in for the graduation. It was a small class and not many had made it this far, but he was confident that at least one pair was sufficiently trained. Savitri and Hepaticath were by far the best students in the class. The rest, when they had managed to show up, had slightly disappointed him in their enthusiasm for class. As the area filled the brown rider looked out over the seated riders and weyrlings. They might soon be facing battles that pitted them not only against thread but also other riders. He hoped they were all well prepared
Sel'n scanned the room for I’fael. This class was just as much his if not more so. He motioned for I’fael to join him at the podium before taking his place at the structure and clearing his throat. “If you will all take your seats we will begin shortly.” Sel’n was never one for speeches nor crowds. He stepped back from the podium and gave a small grin to I’fael. “A mark for your thoughts?” he asked rather cheerfully.
Kaaoloth was sunning not far from the gathering on the training field where the graduation was being held. It was nice today so Sel’n had opted for an outdoor ceremony that way the dragons could also be involved. The brown had given polite greetings to each dragon as they arrived. He crooned happily to his arriving students. Today you graduate. Congratulations to you and yours. Kaaoloth said as way of greeting. Please instruct yours to take their seats we will be beginning shortly.
