Boating duty! Of all the luck! Thora bounced happily towards the river, Hypriceth in tow. The weyrling was wearing a pair of light brown, cotton slacks, cut off at her knees for easy movement, and similarly colored sandals. The loose tunic wrapped around her torso was a pale green, sleeveless and v-necked, tastefully revealing the blonde's bust. Thora anticipated getting wet today, so she made sure there wouldn't be too much weighing her down.
As the greenpair approached the river bank, they could already see a pair of drudges heading the same way towards and empty boat at the dock. "Oh, let me get that for you!" She exclaimed, jogging up to the boat and untying it from it's post. Pushing it easily halfway into the water, she turned to smile at the two women, gesturing them to climb aboard. They smiled an nodded back, the first giving the weyrling a kind thank you, before settling themselves into the small craft.
Thora was used to handling much larger and more complicated vessels back at the Hold, and she reveled in the ease with which she was able to push the boat off the shore, hop in, and begin rowing all in one fluid motion. She was in a state of bliss as she pulled the oar through the water, familiar muscles contracting and relaxing under her tanned skin. She wondered for a moment if there would be a way to convince someone in the Weyr to let her do this chore, and this chore alone, for the rest of her weyrlinghood. It was just perfect. Of course that would never come to be, no matter how charming Thora acted. The groups all rotated, she knew, and so everyone got a chance at all the different chores. At least, she fleetingly thought, she would get to spend a few sevendays here on the river before she was rotated, and she would be sure to make the most of it.
Hypriceth, meanwhile, sauntered over to the shallows and eyed the little darting fish curiously. They always ran away from her. It was very rude, she thought. She only wanted to look at them closer. It wasn't like she would actually eat the stupid little things. They were much too small, and they looked very chewy. With an angry huff that violently blew the water up into the air and sent the fish swimming for their lives, Hypriceth quickly turned around with an offended flick of her tail at the river. Eyeing the lovely expanse of grass that covered the riverbank, Pri chose a spot completely doused with sunlight, and sprawled herself out in it. Being so lightly colored it would take quite a while for the green to really heat up, but she was content to wait there for as long as she liked.
Safely depositing the drudges on the other side of the river, Thora nodded at their 'thank you's' and climbed back into the boat. having no one to ferry at that moment, the blonde fisher pushed off of the silky mud of the river bank and slid slowly into the middle of the water, letting the gentle current turn and drift the craft where where it pleased.
