Being assigned chores was nothing new to Sasheen. In fact, having only one chore to do was something she was going to have to get used to, rather than working constantly from the time she woke in the morning to the time she passed out each night. She’d assured herself that once she Impressed (there was no ‘if’ for Sasheen in this aspect) she would have much more to do than she could handle and she’d feel normal amounts of stress once again. In the meantime she had to focus on keeping herself busy and that, combined with the plan of being in the jungle, left her anticipating her chores; not that she shared this fact with anyone else.
Given a large basket, Sasheen headed away from the Weyr and into the jungle, intent on finding fruit trees. The humid temperature was much different than the sharp coolness of the forests in which she had grown up but it there was a lot of ‘sameness’ to it as well. Trees, flowers, creatures… The sounds and smells were enough to make her feel at home and Sasheen couldn’t help humming softly to herself as she walked.
It wasn’t long before she came to a group of red fruit trees and she concentrated on one of them, plucking the ripe fruit from it’s branches and dropping it into the basket at her feet. There wasn’t an awful lot on the trees ready, namely because of the chill weather lately, but there was enough for her to bring something back to the Weyr that was actually productive and she wouldn’t be wasting her time.
Chores. Check.
