Sel’n shifted in place as he looked out the window. Winter weather wasn’t being kind as far as wind went. It had been a trail for Kaaoloth to keep grounded while his wings where unfurled. Currently the brown was curled up in front of the barracks. Today would be a total classroom day. The fierce wind might unintentionally harm the growing dragonets fragile wing muscles and membrane. Especially since they weren’t yet used to extensive exercise. Instead the dragons would join their bonded’s in the classroom. It would be a tight fit but the dragon’s where still small enough.

Call the weyrlings Kaaoloth. Have them all meet in the classrooms. Kaaoloth raised his head and rumbled. Exotics and remaining Tidals, please report to the classrooms. Exotics bring your dragons. Tidals you may leave your dragons in their respective weyrs.

The signal given Kaaoloth crooned, the sound was promptly ripped away by the wind, it was doubtful anyone heard it. I am going back to our weyr. The wind bothers me. Sel’n smiled. Of course. I’ll call if I need you. As he broke connection from his dragon the first student entered.

Olanreth stretched and nudged his softly, the boy was sprawled out on his bunk nursing a headache. Come mine lessons. We are all to be in the classrooms today. D’nar frowned. “Yeah the weather isn’t exactly cooperating. Neither is my head. Come on then you big lug.” The pale bronze fell into step beside his and, like always, they where the first to enter the classrooms.

Settling down beside his bonded Olanreth wrapped his tail tip about the chair his sat in. “Morning Weyrlingmaster.” D’nar intoned sleepily. He wanted to curl up and nap. His head pounded. The bronze crooned his own greeting and settled his head on the floor to await his clutch siblings. Narmine perhaps later I will call a healer for you. The bronze weyrling lazily let his hand drift down to rest on his dragon’s back. Don’t have to. It’s just a headache. Probably weather related.

Going outside was an adventure all by itself. Just as soon as Lilliementh had stepped out of the barracks after Nris, the scrawny little green had gotten her wings yanked away from her by the wind, and tumbled across the ground for it. The event had been most comical to watch, but rather unpleasant for both Lillie and Nris to endure. Nris had had to run after her, and then sit on her, to keep her from continuing the tumble. Obviously, all by herself, she wasn't heavy enough to keep her wings in place in the wind. With a little help from a passing drudge, some rope was acquired, and the drudge and Nris worked together to lash Lilliementh's wings to her own back ... now they couldn't open regardless what the wind did to her. Though it made her look really funny. As if someone had done half a job of trying to tied her up and drag her off. Dirty and crusted with melting bits of snow, Lillie didn't look stunning at all except as a walking accident.

Thus trussed up, Lilliementh happily trundled after Nris the rest of the way to class. By the time they got there, they were both rather rumpled looking ... a few hairs had even managed to work loose from Nris' characteristically tight bun, giving her head a cloudy appearance. She plopped tiredly into a seat, and her green sat next to her, happy to just have gotten there.

"Here, finally, sir." Nris said, out of breath.

Thora was up early as usual, and had a slightly easier time making it from the barracks to the kitchens because of it. The wind was not quite as vicious in the early hours of the day, and with a light coat complete with a hood, Thora made it to the tree-building and back with little hassle. The most trouble she faced was, surprisingly, with the boat. It was much, much easier controlling a large ship in the wind, than a small one - particularly a small one without so much as a mainsail. The rowing was more difficult to get across the river both ways, (the going back, with a package of meat under her arm) but it certainly woke the girl up.

Returning to the barracks, Thora was quick about chopping up her bundle of meat into bite sized chunks for her lovely green; who had been pleasantly sleeping the entire time her bonded was out in the wind. Thora had made sure to bring herself a small breakfast along with the meat, so that she would not have to make a second trip. The pair ate happily, and then had quite the amusing time bathing Hypriceth in the common bathing pool, not wanting to go out into the increasingly violent weather to use the river. Finally, all fed, washed and oiled, the pair lounged in their room until Kaaoloth's call rang out.

Lessons Mine. We will be together in the classrooms. I am glad. Pri mentioned with a rumble as they left for the correct room. Thora smirked, silently agreeing with her green. Yes, outside in a gale was no place to hold a lesson; or anything for that matter. The blonde did not particularly like storms either. She was respectful of their power, but extremely wary, even on land. Her friend had had the misfortune of losing his father to a sea storm, and since then the girl had always stayed far from the sea whenever she raged.

"Good morning, Weyrlingmaster." Thora said with a bow and a smile, before taking her seat. Pri crooned to the room at large, and then her eyes fell on her green sister. The minty green weyrling sat next to Hers, but craned her neck in the direction of her smaller clutchsibling. You wings are bound, sister. Are you hurt? It looks most peculiar . . She asked, genuinely curious, as she eyed the rope with bright blue-green eyes.

There apparently was a reason K'sel owned a coat and a scarf. Not to mention the sweater and mittens his mother had knitted for her favorite little boy. Winter also reminded him that klah was a good thing, and occasionally worked as a substitute from other certain bone warming drinks (especially since before mentioned drinks were illicit while bonded to a baby dragon). So keeping in mind made for a very warm morning. He looked rather comfortable huddled into his fur lined jacket and still holding a mug of klah from his breakfast. Pettahth wasn't quite as fond of the bite of the cold air, but kept somewhat quiet....he showed his distaste with the little exaggerated shivers and quakes, forcing his rider to show a rare moment of sympathy and lean over and rub the brown hide warm again. He would coo to the poor thing, though with a liberal amount of jest, "Awww, I'll keep you warm buddy...."

You better! If you leave me to freeze I'll tell all your friends!

It was true, weyrlinghood had been buying him some friends, and maybe for the first time he was a little willing to show up to class. He wasn't going to tell anybody this though. K'sel was too cool for school. So he gave a snide reply, "Oh? Usually you threaten to bite me. I'm not sure telling my friends really scares me..."

The brown stuck his nose up, his breathe visible in the cold air out in front of the barracks, I've put plenty of holes in you already. Well at least in his clothes, the brown had a knack for just narrowly missing the skin, more than likely because he knew what hurt him would come and get him right back. Being bonded was a strange sort of insta-karma. "Well," K'sel said blandly, "lets get this party started shall we?" The pair walked into the room, the dragon shook of the cold while the teenage took a last drink of his klah and leaving the mug behind. He was getting a little bad about leaving those cups of his around.

Kalina glared balefully at the biting wind, resentment clearly present on her face. "It figures I plan for a nice cool jog before class and this happens!" She was already dressed in warms pants and a long sleeved shirt. Her hair for once was let down and it rested against her shoulders. Uminth crooned at her soothingly. Don't be so upset Mine. We can go this evening if it lets up! Kalina rubbed Uminth's eye ridges in appreciation. You're right of course. You and I will find time this evening.

When Kalina walked into the class room she sat down. She was ready to get a start on this day. The wind had ruffled her hair askew but she made no move to fix it other than to move it out of her eyes.

It was much easier for Hazleth to get L'nos moving today than it had been when the last lesson started. The weyrling was more cooperative, and the brown found His more eager for the challenges the lesson might provide. That was the L'nos he knew, and had chosen. That timid thing His had turned into for a short time didn't befit the more forward approach Hazleth had. Come, Mine, we'll be late if we don't hurry. Make sure you keep warm. L'nos was getting used to the way the brown looked out for him, and he obediently pulled on a thick wherry-down coat. "We won't be outside long enough to need much more Haz." He pointed out when the brown clearly thought a coat wasn't enough. Snorting in doubt, the pair left shortly after, braving the snapping winds only as long as they had to, Hazleth keeping his wings closed tight against the gale.

They arrived in class a little later, L'nos still trying to fingerbrush the wind from his hair, his bangs in disarray from the bluster outside. Smiling in anticipation, he scooted to a vacant seat somewhere in the middle, while Hazleth careful negotiated the other seats and weyrlings present, greeting each in turn cheerily. "Morning Weyrlingmaster." L'nos greeted happily, apparently feeling better about communication with Sel'n.

It was another day at the weyrling barracks. Morning in T'yr's room, storm hailing outside, dragon nudging mine while mine slept through all of it.

He was getting used to waking up for these lessons, but at the cost of his sanity and temper. T'yr was never the type to fume or blow up at someone, but ever since he began loosing tremendous amounts of sleep like he had been the last two months, something had to give.

T'yr rolled over in bed. He sat up, blinked twice and donned a ruffled well worn shirt laying on the floor. Astendith didnt comment. The blue didnt say anything at this time of morning if he didnt have to.

Walking down the hallway was when T'yr finally realized the storm outside. "Great" was all he said, and continued on his sulliary walk to the exit.

The winds blew fast and hard. T'yr grabbed at Astendith's muscular body as they both helped each other walk to the classrooms. A few steps at a time, while taking short breaks under shelters were all they could manage not to be blown away. Its a day to match my mood I guess.. T'yr thought and projected weakly.

They made it to the classrooms eventually. They were probably a little late, but T'yr assumed it was not going to be a big deal considering the weather conditions.

T'yr flopped down and pretended to be awake for the duration of the lesson
