Erilena held up a tattered garment and made a face. “Ewww you mean someone actually still wears this? It looks like it got into a fight with a feline and lost.” Tsking she dropped it back in the basket that held the dirty laundry. The drudges had thrust it and Nephele and Erilena as they arrived along with a bag of sweetsand and instructions to wash, fold, and return. Turning her head she made another face. “You think we can do this without getting wet? It’s kinda chilly outside with the wind and all.” Not the best weather to be doing laundry but at least it wasn’t raining for once.
Feyrianth was busying herself with watching the silver minnows darting back and forth. The four winged green seemed full of energy as she darted back and forth trying to keep the silver scaled fish in sight. Leo, in turn, was blissfully unaware of them all. He had sprawled out on a nearby rock and was busy giggling to himself. Wherever he escaped to on a daily basis at least he seemed content. Erilena had long ago stopped worrying about her odd mandyr. He was unique to be sure. Lovelovelovelove. The blue chorused to himself as he wriggled against the hard surface he was sprawled on. The green rider wriggled a finger at him causing a giggle to erupt from the blue. Love mine.
Erilena grabbed a dirty shirt and sighed before dunking it in the river. Wresting it from the shallows she dumped a generous handful of sweetsand on it and began the task of scrubbing. Her hair was bound back in a series of intricate braids which where twisted into a bun. A scrape of old pink ribbon was tied to her head as a type of headband to hold her bangs back. Grimacing as one of her hair strands escaped it’s pink prison she commented to Nephele. “So can you believe what R’wign has done to his hair?” In a properly scandalous voice. Cause gossiping is clearly what woman always did when washing laundry.

Nephele snickered at Erilena's comment about someone's dirty tatters and glanced at it. It was an apt description of the pieces of whatever the other girl was holding up. She dipped a couple of fingers into the water and sighed. "I don't think we have a choice. Too bad they wouldn't let us take one of the cooking pots. Then we could have just filled it with warm water and done it that way." With no other option Nephele grabbed one of the dirty garments and snorted in disgust as she caught a whiff of it. It smelled like barf. How appealing. She dunked it in the water and worked at getting the smell and the stain out.
Nuoth was never one to miss an opportunity for swimming. She was floating around too. For the most part she watched Feyrianth play and the current would push her downstream. When she got too far she'd swim up and resume her watching. You should play with her, Nephele told her. The green glanced at Hers to see that she had paused for a moment to look at the two young dragons. She seems to be having fun on her own. I do not wish to disturb her. Nephele shrugged and used a bit more sweetsand on the shirt. The stain hadn't set in too much thankfully and was easier to get out than she'd first assumed.
Nuoth lightly offered up, You didn't really mean your story ending... The green was referring to the story contest at the Gather and more specifically the round when she'd been up against F'ur and K'sel. Did too. Did not. Did too. Did not. "Tch. Childish," she commented aloud. She wasn't sure why but after a recent mope-phase of her green's she'd been insistent that Nephele was not actually mad at the annoying brownweyrling.
Mother was in evidence too. He sensed Nephele's discomfort and sent a warm thought. All was well. She was mostly soothed and the bronze was satisfied. He was sprawled out on the same rock as Leo having been told that he couldn't stay on his usual perch because his human needed to work. At Erilena's gossiping tone Nephele smiled and thought about the pink haired guy. He'd been at the hatching where Mother and Leo were from. Now she knew his name. "Mm, it is interesting. I wonder how he did it. Or why. Pink on a guy is a little odd."

Erilena took up where Nephele left off. “Definitely odd.” Resuming her scrubbing she turned to look at her companion. “But really through the grapevine I learned that he is weyrmated to another male. So maybe it isn’t that odd? Same sex couples are a bit different anyway I suppose. Plus they adopted a child together recently. Out of the creche. I haven’t been there lately so I am not sure what baby.” Pausing she held up her tattered garment. Confident that it was as clean as it was going to get she began to rinse it.
“So,” She continued amiably. “What gossip have you heard floating around? I’ve got plenty more than this but I am interested to hear if you have picked anything up. If nothing else working in the kitchens is good for that kind of thing. Those drudges are horrible.” Nephele’s remark about something being childish caused her to blink. “Childish? I think gossiping extends to all ages really. You should have met my grandmother. Now she was the gossip queen of all the holders. Midday meal at her place was the start of the hold grapevine.”
Leo rolled over to paw playfully at Mother, giggling the whole time. Love you ~ <3 he remarked and dissolved into a fit of giggles that had him near tumbling off the rock. So shiny was his friend and so funny! How he was funny wasn’t exactly clear but obviously he was. Erilena spared a glance at her mandyr and sighed. Obviously he had hit his head one too many times. Her darling idiot. Feyrianth wiggled her rump and took a leap of faith into the river. Oh darn I missed it. She remarked to Erilena. I wanted a shiny swimmer for my collection. The green paused for a moment in wonder. Why was the bank moving?
Then she realized she was moving and all four legs churned the water in an attempt to swim. However she didn’t seem to be getting anywhere. Eyes whirling in momentary anxiousness she swam for Nuoth and bumped gently into her. Here the current was stilled a bit by the larger green and swimming was easier. Hi. I am Feyrianth. I think we can be friends yes? Her four wings unfurled and her little head turned up to the green in awe. So big!
Erilena looked up momentarily to watch the two greens. Content that Feyrianth was safe she nudged Nephele. “Don’t look now but I think Fey has found someone to chat to for awhile. I apologize if she annoys Nuoth. If she has an off button I haven’t found it.” Making a face she picked up another garment this one stained with blood. “Ewww I hope this isn’t human.”

Nephele grinned slightly as she remembered R'wign pulling another guy into his lap. "Mm I think I saw his weyrmate. That or he normally randomly pulls guys into his lap while he's wearing a bathrobe." She was more like the source of gossip this time. She'd actually seen it happen. She took the shirt out of the water to examine it and, realizing her comment may have sounded stalkerish, she added, "I saw it at a hatching. The gold was Charming's mother." News of a creche child being adopted brought surprise. None of the regulars had found parents. It was probably a recent orphan. Hmm.
Nephele started to rinse her garment too and thought of what tidbits of information she'd heard around the weyr. Normally she only paid attention to things that had a small amount of interest to her. Before she had a chance to respond though, Erilena picked up on her muttered comment. "Well, now I know where you got it from. But I didn't mean gossiping is childish. Nuoth's been pestering me lately. The whole 'do too, do not' thing is very childish," she told her friend, smiling slightly. "Anyways, I heard my old weyrlingmaster got into some kind of fight and that's why he was replaced. I don't think he was particularily thrilled about being weyrlingmaster in the first place."
Mother regarded the blue salamandyr with amusement. At the first sign of him possible falling of the rock though he extended a bronze-rainbowed wing and attempted to halt a fall that never happened. It was a reaction much like his namesake. He retracted his wing and rested his head on his forelimb in such a way that he continued to watched his blue brother. He was a curious one he was. Apparently easily amused by anything. Nuoth was amused also by one of Erilena's mindmates. Feyrianth had just jumped into the river in pursuit of a fish.
The difficulty the young green seemed to be having with swimming was a cause for a bit of concern but as the four winged green bumped into her she let the worry fade. She lowered her head to be more on level with Feyrianth as she spoke. Pleasure to meet you Feyrianth. I am Nuoth, she said before hesitating a bit. Friends..? Yes we can, if you'd like to. She was worried about the green's opinion of her during her moody periods though.
Nephele glanced up at the nudge and smiled at the scene. That was just too sweet. "I don't think she could annoy Nuoth. Aren't they cute like that? I wonder if Fey will be bigger than Nuoth when she gets older." It was hard to imagine her friend's green as big as the older green but then agai nthat's what she'd thought of Nuoth at first. And the silly green was still growing. More to oil. She looked at the clothing Erilena was holding and grimaced. "Yuck. Lena, we got stuck with a gross chore." With the previous shirt washed she reached into the pile and pulled out a pair of underwear. Then she fell into giggles and waved it in the air a bit.

Erilena brightened visibly as Nephele got sucked into the world of gossip. “Oh my Faranth! You actually saw his weyrmate? Who is it? If you don’t have a name what does he look like?” The mental image of R’wign in pink hair and a pink bathrobe caused her to dissolve into laughter. Not that she knew whether or not his bathrobe was pink, but the mental image could not be stopped. “Pray tell do you remember what color the bathrobe was?” Her eyes sparkled with mirth as she continued the discussion.
The other green rider’s explanation of her comment caused the weyrling to shrug. “I hear dragon’s are good for arguing but Fey and I haven’t argued even once since we impressed. I wonder if that means we are odd.” She mused with a giggle before dissolving into gales of laughter as Nephele brandished the underwear. Totally mature they where obviously.
If Feyrianth was aware of Nuoth’s pause she gave no indication. Instead she regarded the older green with mirthful blue whirling eyes. Oh yet another friend. So lovely. Nuzzling her muzzle against the green’s side she crooned. Oh yes we will be wonderful friends I am sure. Stretching out her four wings she spread them across the water’s surface and paddled in a circle. Ducking her head under the water, the green examined the silvery fish beneath the surface before coming back up for air. Do you think the shiny silvers are impossible to collect? I have been trying but they are so very fast. I don’t think I can be so fast. It is a shame really. Sneezing a bit of water out of her nostrils she tilted her head up towards her Nuoth.
Leo was getting sleepy. He had been fed recently and was still young. The warm rock and full belly where sufficiently starting to make him drowsy. He was loathe to sleep however because then he would miss all the funny. Blinking his lids once he giggled softly. Maybe he would have funny sleep images? Oh surely he would. Scrambling, more or less, upright he drunkenly wobbled over to Mother and all but fell against the bronze’s side. Love you ~ <3. He said softly before wriggling close and allowing his lids to fall shut. Nineluv.
Erilena tried to compose herself before speaking again. Who said chores couldn’t be fun? Obviously they had never chored with a friend. Nephele could make anything interesting. Finally catching her breath she grabbed a pair of pants and dunked them in the river. “So your Weyrlingmaster got fired for getting in a fight? How mature of him.” Idly she wondered who he had fought with before going on. “Our Weyrlingmaster is a tad different. I really don’t mind her but she definitely isn’t personable. I get the feeling that she doesn’t even want to do the job. I wonder how much they get paid.” Probably not enough if Darya’s mood was an indication.
She hummed as she dumped some cleansing sand on the garment and proceeded to scrub it. “Hmm what else do I have gossip wise. OH! I know. I heard the S’rei is going to be a daddy again. His weyrmate is supposedly pregnant. How many kids does he have now six? I heard the drudges saying he fathered twins last year. Plus he has that little boy with him a lot and he used to have that little red haired girl. I wonder if they are all his. I should have paid better attention when they where talking about it.” As she spoke she focused on Nephele, her hands scrubbing at the same stubborn stain.

Nephele smiled at Erilena's enthusiasm. She'd make her grandmother proud, she would. She thought back to the hatching and tried to remember what she could. She hadn't exactly been paying much attention to the people. "Hmm, he was short. Certainly not any taller than me. Dark skinned, dark hair." Without getting up close and personal it could be hard to tell some browns from black. Nephele's hair was like this. Really it was a couple shades lighter than black but most people didn't notice. Her nose crinkled at mention of the bathrobe. "Sorry Lena. I can't for the life of me remember."
Nephele attempted to respond to the comment about arguing dragons but everytime she tried she only managed to fall into another fit of laughter. It oughtn't to have been so funny but it was. It was more the randomness of it than the act that it was someone's underwear (and dirty underwear at that). Still fighting giggles she put it in the water and began washing it. She added sweetsand after getting it throughly wet. By then her laughter was mostly gone. "As for arguing with dragons, me and Nuoth would have to be considered odd too. Normally we don't argue but ever since the story contest..."
Nuoth liked Feyrianth's easy-going nature. That was a good way to be, in her opinion. Perhaps she was just a little bit jealous. When the younger dragon took a peek under the water she copied her. As one set of eyelids slid over her eyes to protect them from debris in the water she dipped her head under and watched as some of the fish scattered from her muzzle. Water exploded out of her nose as she brought her head out of the water. Oh, that was interesting. To Feyrianth she said, I do not like to say this but Yours would probably not like you to collect one of them. If not eaten quickly or prepared by people they begin to...get smelly and yucky. In other words they rotted. She continued in a lighter tone. Perhaps when you get bigger we can catch a fish together. What is impossible for one is often possible for two or more. She'd learned that from Ahth.
Mother yawned and clicked his claws on the rock. He was from the same clutch as Leo and was also getting tired. He startled slightly as the blue mandyr laid down against his side and he looked at his clutchbrother. The bronze glanced at His but judged that she'd be okay with both the big one and Leo's to keep her spirits up. Careful not to bother the blue mandyr he shifted into an even more comfortable position and closed his eyes. The small source of heat by his side and the rock underneath him quickly lulled him into sleep.
"Weyrlingmasters are really hit and miss. I didn't mind F'ur, he was funny but Nuoth prefers Sel'n and his dragon. She told me that Kaaoloth at least seems to like the weyrlings as opposed to Inocenth. Y'know, you should ask your weyrlingmaster that question." At the mere idea of asking Sel'n how much he got she grinned impishly. She'd do it too, if asked. She swapped the underwear for another shirt which wasn't too bad. it was impossible for every single piece of clothing to be as dirty as the first one.
Nephele blinked at the news. The weyrleader was having another kid? She snorted with something vaguely like jealousy and shook her head. "You'd think he had enough if all of them are really his. Speaking of people with kids, the girl who Impressed the gold from Nuoth's clutch had a kid. She was pregnant before Impression. Makes me wonder how many more stands Impressions there have been before then." Nephele wasn't necessarily the best gossiper. She had a tendency to go off on tangents on occasion.

Erilena nodded at the comment about R’wign’s mystery lover. Trying to put face to name was too hard currently, so she focused on something else. Nuoth and Nephele had been arguing since the storyteller contest. Hmm why? Curious the green weyrling began to debate how best to ask. Who had been her friend’s opponents? K’sel and F’ur if she remembered correctly. What was there to argue about then? K’sel most likely. But why. Oh the possibilities. Maybe something had happened during the contest? Why had she missed that one again? Erilena couldn’t remember.
For the moment she concentrated on the stubborn stain. There. Rinsing it she hummed as she tried to come up with an appropriate lead. Was there a point in being subtle? They where friends after all. The other green rider viewed Nephele from underneath her lashes as her proceeded to scrub the undergarments.
Feyrianth idly floated on top of the water paddling her legs every now and again to keep beside the much larger green. She shook water from her head as the older green spoke. They would get smelly? That is too bad. The little green finally said wistfully. I think they are very pretty. It is a shame I cannot add them to my collection. It really was too. Then the offer of help was extended and Feyrianth crooned happily, her wings slapping the surface of the water in glee. Oh it would be like a fun game of tag. She exclaimed paddling in a tight circle. If we caught one what would we do with it however? Perhaps they would just let it go? If it smelled they couldn’t keep it. The older green was very wise, surely she knew what they would do with a swimming silver if they caught it. Feyrianth lowered her snout to the water and drug it over the surface. Maybe there where other shinys that didn’t smell under the water? Was it possible?
“Hmm perhaps I could as Darya but I somehow doubt she would answer.” Erilena offered, picking up the tail end of the conversation. Dropping the clean pants on the nearby rock she turned and dug through the basket of dirty clothes until she had found a suitable candidate. Dunking the shirt in the river and slathering it with sweetsand she worried at her bottom lip. “I don’t think stand impressions are common at all. As far as Meira’s impression I just think she was lucky she didn’t scare her dragon for life. There are reasons you aren’t allowed to stand when your pregnant. Maybe Jingth felt she had no other options other than those in the stands. I’ve heard that dragon’s will between if they don’t find someone suitable. Maybe Meira was the only one she found suitable. Personally I could care less. Feyrianth is better than twenty gold dragons and I already impressed. I think we would have heard about stand impressions before if there had been any.” With that topic worn out she switched to the one that had been on her mind for the last fifteen minutes.
“So what exactly about the story contest are you and Nuoth arguing about?” Erilena voiced it in a pleasant unassuming manner but she was unwilling to let it drop. The truth would be revealed so to speak.

Nephele let the silence sit but she wondered what Erilena was thinking about. Perhaps she'd spring another bit of gossip on her? Her friend was a fountain of knowledge of the most interesting kind. When no more gossip was forthcoming she turned most of her attention to her task. She set aside the underwear for a shirt and scrubbed at what she guessed was a sloppy eaters' food stains. Gross. None of her clothes was dirty with anything more than dirt or maybe dragon oil rubbed on her pants. Her clothes had often been dirty with blood when Nuoth was young since she'd had to carve the flesh from the actual carcasses for her but Nephele was always good about at least rinsing them after.
Nuoth nodded as Feyrianth digested what she said easily. She was glad she didn't have to explain why they would get gross smelling. Nuoth simply knew that they did. She made a mental note to ask Hers a little later. The older green crooned comfortingly to Feyrianth in an attempt to cheer her - oh, look at that. She was already happy again. Her mindvoice was a fraction warmer as she responded to the question. Well once we catch them we could eat them. NepheleMine assures me that the fishes can be quite tasty. I don't particularily like cooked meat but if it is good cooked to people I'm sure it is good uncooked to us. We could, of course, also let them go after.
Nephele snickered and added to the conversation, "Sel'n might answer. He seems good about such things." She listened to Erilena's reasoning and made a thoughtful sound of agreement partway through. It was certainly true that a dragon would suicide if it didn't find a rider. She'd seen it before at Benden. At first she thought it had been because of some kind of deformity of the mind but she'd learned the truth afterwards. She was always glad Nuoth had found her rather than have gone between. It didn't really bear thinking about though. She was glad that Jingth had not suicided either. Always a sad thing to lose a dragon but the weyr tended to be gloomy after the death of a queen.
"Hm. You didn't hear?" She asked with amusement. She was sure that the rumour would have reached Erilena by then. "Well anyways, we ended up acting out part of our story. It was a weird, twisted love story. It ended rather spectacularily -" cue sarcasm "- with not one but two and a half kisses. Three if you count Charming swooping in to lick me too. First K'sel kissed me, and my then weyrlingmaster kissed me too." She paused as she registered that him kissing her hadn't actually annoyed her overly much. "Then I had the last laugh and took my leave. Me and Nuoth are arguing over the ending. I fully meant it when I said I'd never kiss K'sel again." She sent a slight glare Nuoth's way as she finished her rant-like explanation. That she told Erilena spoke volumes of her trust in the girl.

Feyrianth watched the older green with curiosity. Oh yes we could let them go but if they are tasty I do not think I would mind easting one or two. There are lots of shiny silvers in the water. I see them all the time. Surely if she just ate a few there would be plenty for others. The little green was by no means greedy and perhaps even Leo would like one. She did not mind sharing. Dipping her head back beneath the surface of the water she watched the playing fishes for a few moments more before paddling forward. As expected the little fish darted away from her and she brought her head back up retracting her transparent lids.
Have you ever gone searching for shinys? She asked Nuoth her voice excited and curious. It is very fun. I could show you how if you would like. Maybe she could even find one for her new friend. That would be wonderful indeed.
Erilena listened carefully to Nephele as she explained the details behind the contest. It took everything she had to prevent her eyes from widening as her friend told her about the kisses. Oh my! It really was a shame that she had managed to miss that particular story. Darn. “K’sel actually kissed you?” She asked curiously and fell silent as she digested this bit of information. Well perhaps her dear brown riding self proclaimed adoptive big brother did have a bit of a spine. Smiling at that though she steeled her nerves and spoke quietly.
“You know I think K’sel is sweet on you. Maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to write him off.” She squeezed Nephele’s arm lightly to take any unintentional insult out of the words. “Really he isn’t too bad. A bit different surely but he means well. I’ve never seen him be intentionally cruel to anyone.” Taking her eyes off Nephele for a few moments she regarded the shirt. “Then again who knows. Boys are a terrible weird creature put on this planet to make us crazy.”
If Nephele could confide in her surely she could do the same with the other girl. “In the spirit of sharing things I have a secret too. You’re the only one besides my parents who knows this so don’t spill any beans.” Taking a breath she gave her garment a particularly vigorous scrub. “I was engaged once. To what I though was a wonderful person. He…cheated on me with some two faced whore because I wouldn’t sleep with him before we where married. I was heartbroken. Point is guys suck, but maybe…just maybe some of them aren’t all bad?” Dumping the shirt in the river she looked back up at Nephele and smiled. “Just because Kentvin was an ass doesn’t mean I should write off all guys right?” Shrugging she pulled the now rinsed shirt out of the water and began to wring it out. “At least that’s how I look at it.”
Pursing her lips Erilena looked at Nephele again her eyes glinting mischievously. “You know being serious is no fun.” At that precise moment she flung a handful of river water at Nephele and giggled. “Got ya.” Cue playful wink.

Nuoth fluttered her wings as Feyrianth spoke. She didn't actually know if they were tasty but she guessed they were. She knew the little ones hunted fish to eat. If it was alright for them then it certainly couldn't hurt dragons. They'd be but a snack to the older green. The fish were far too small to actually fill her up like the herdbeasts or wherries could. Hunting anything with a friend would be interesting though. The idea of shinies made the green blink her whirling eyes and she glanced at the fish. Those were shiny silvers to Feyrianth, so what were shinies? I'm afraid I've never tried that. I'd certainly like to learn how.
"If you really want to call what he did a kiss," she said contempuously. She fell silent at the mere idea of K'sel being interested in her. They fought almost constantly. Didn't that mean they were supposed to hate each other? Having someone other than herself or her dragon confront her with that observation chipped away at her denial though. It might have had more of an effect but her companion chose then to share a secret with her too. Nephele was honoured that her friend returned the trust she held in the girl
She nodded to indicate she wouldn't tell a soul - and she wouldn't, not ever. Loyal brat she could be sometimes. She winced both at the mention of a whore (she'd been one too, and still was to a degree) and the hopeful question. Nephele's image of men in general was not pleasant. Trying to imagine any of them actually being decent was awfully hard. She put what she hoped was a comforting hand on Erilena's arm and said, "You have a good outlook. I'm sure if anyone could find a good guy, it would be you." She'd met a couple of Erilena's friends at the hatching and at a glance they seemed decent. She couldn't judge properly with just one meeting though.
As Erilena splashed her with some water she laughed, flashing a slightly awkward smile at the other greenweyrling. "Oh, you think so do you?" She reached down into the water then and cupped her hand as she splashed at Erilena. "Beat that Lena!" Anyone could see where this was going. Water fight, anyone?

Oh you have never tried? Well then we will be having so much fun! Feyrianth flared all four wings in her excitement, throwing drops of water into the air. Now she had a new friend to share the magic of shinys with. It was a good day indeed. With a soft croon the little dragon searched the bank. How to begin… ah an example would probably be the best. Paddling to the bank Feyrianth nosed among the rocks there. Her soft muzzle pushed through the sand expertly. Having unearthed a promising specimen she gingerly grasped it in her jaws and plunked it into the shallows. Soon the clinging sand had washed away reveling a peculiar blue veined rock. Picking it up the green whistled around it to Nuoth.
Once the green had drawn close she placed the rock on the sand and gestured to it with a fore claw. This is a shiny. She began. Shinys can be about anything interesting that you can imagine. The little dragon paused for a moment to allow that to sink in. However there are also best shinys. Best shinys glimmer when the light touches them. I am afraid I do not have an example of a best shiny but you will know one if you see them. Nodding her little head up and down she crooned. Shinys make good gifts because they make people happy. Picking the rock back up she tilted her head upwards. Here I want you to have this shiny. Surely this would illustrate how shinys made people happy.
Erilena laughed out loud as the water hit her. It was cold but not intolerable. Water fights where just to fun to pass up after all. “Oh I’ll show you.” She exclaimed hiking up her pant legs to wade into the shallows. Turning she cupped her hands and flung some water at the other girl. Giggling she tried to dodge return splashes. Chore time was definitely better with friends. Especially Nephele, Erilena liked to bring the other girl out of her shell a bit. It was good for her.

Nuoth couldn't help but be infected my Feyrianth's excitement. She felt it building in herself as she swam over to the shore with the smaller green. She remained in a place where she could still float if she drew her legs up as her new friend searched for a shiny. She knew what the word meant, but she wasn't sure what she was expecting. When Feyrianth called her over she stood in the water and walked over. She kicked up huge swirls of sand underneath the water and she liked the way it brushed her legs and the mud squished under feet.
Nuoth listened to the explanation dutifully and with curiosity. Anything? Anything at all? That was quite a concept to grasp for then there were almost endless possibilities of what could be a shiny. The best shinies sounded especially interesting. Should she ever find one she'd give it ot Hers first...and then find another one for Feyrianth. As the stone was offered to her, the green's eyes whirled faster and she lowered her head. Oh thank you Feyrinath. I shall treasure it, she said, tone infused with gratefulness. She crouched down and opened her mouth wide. It would come to no harm in her mouth and it was only until Nuoth could stash it safely in her weyr.
Nephele laughed as Erilena went fully into the water. Thought to get the advantage, did she? She followed into the water after her, face averted to avoid getting splashed there. She threw water at her friend and darted away from her spot every now and then to avoid a splash if possible. Laundry was more interesting than people thought it was. Unfortunately the weather was colder than was really best for a water fight and the chill of the water began to sink in more and more. "Hey Lena, we should probably finish up and head inside. Wouldn't want to catch anything," she called out with her back turned to the girl.

Feyrianth crooned as she dropped the rock into Nuoth’s mouth. You are welcome. The little green said happily and bounced in place her eyes a pleasant light blue. She liked her new friend very much. Fluttering her wings she looked over at her bonded. Oh hers was almost ready to leave. Good, she was starting to get a bit hungry. Perhaps she could get a snack?
Erilena giggled as Nephele got into the water fight as well. However before long she realized that her feet where becoming numb. Then Nephele’s voice rang out and she nodded. “Good idea.” Emerging from the water she shivered a bit and began to gather the still slightly damp clothes. They could hang them up indoors after all. By the time she had finished it seemed like the wind had picked up. Cold.
“Maybe we can get something hot to drink after we drop these off.” She called out, hastily picking up the basket with one arm and looking around for Leo. Laundry had turned out awesome. Due in no small part to her best friend. Hopefully they could make this a full time thing at least as long as Nephele was a weyrling. Finally locating him, she picked up her sleeping mandyr and stashed him in her shoulder bag. Turning back to her friend, she fell into step beside her and started the return trip to the Main Hall. Feyrianth bounded after the two humans with a backward croon to Nuoth. Friends made everything fun.
