L'nu stretched up as high as he could, and diddled his fingers down inside the basket he was trying to reach into. If it weren't for the basket being mesh and his being able to see what he was doing, he would have really wondered what it was he was sticking his fingers into. Glows ... just glows. Bit felt like ... grubs ... or eyeballs ... or ... something equally disgusting. Or ... might have worried about finding momma-grub in there ready to bite his fingers off, something. He was starting to get an imagination, yeah ... and not a good one. Stuffing his tongue out of his mouth, L'nu wished he was taller. Lugging a stool around all over the place wasn't any help, either, cause then he had to walk twice as far. Lugging a stool, he'd have to go back and get the glow bags.
Nuuuu .... not fun. But as it was, he was bruising the inside edges of his elbows, and they were starting to really get sore. "You know, it would be really cool if you could help with this." He remarked, to Paglieth, who was actually being quite helpful. Just ... he was holding the bag for spent glows in his teeth, the open end dangling at L'nu.
I hate this job.
At that comment, L'nu paused, and tried to decipher if that was litteral, or another one of Paglieth's strange lying quirks. Tone was no help, as it had been dead flat. Which, he'd discovered, happened when something was in the dragonet's mouth. If he had something in his mouth he was consciously trying to hang onto, all tone of his mind went away. As if it was multitasking too far to try and be expressive and work at the same time.
Grunting, L'nu diddled his fingers in the glows again, trying to roll one up with his fingertips so he could scoop it out.
Hello, Rose. Paglieth remarked, as the gold flitter zipped by the umpteenth time in the past canlemark. It almost seemed as if she were patrolling the halls non stop while her mind mates worked on their chores.
"It would be nice if she helped." L'nu grumped. If Rose would crawl in there and shove all the glows out, picking them up would be easy. But nuuuuuu ... too low a task for a regal gold!! Ugh, her arrogance was something else.

The olive-green twirled through the air, her long slender body arching elegantly as she flew. She crooned playfully at a brown she passed, flaring her wings to stall her progress and curl her tail tip at him. He began to circle around, but Bonnie merely went on her wait without waiting for him. She corkscrewed down toward the weyrfolk apartment and banked inside an open door.
Oh what a handsome blue.
Bonnie landed on the sack Paglieth currently toted and curled her tail around his muzzle. She knew this one, she did, oh yes. They shared a room with her's lovely brown. Casually she chittered at him in greeting, then zip up to land on the basket L'nu was currently stretching to reach inside. She rubbed her had against his fingers, trailing down his arm to perch on his shoulder. Her tail tip caressed L'nu's cheek as she cheeped a single questioning chirp.
Left.
R'ven stepped that way without asking, avoiding a collision in the hallway with a drudge carrying her own burdening load. The smith currently couldn't.. see much over his own – three baskets of laundry he was returning to the rooms as a favor to one of the drudges. Trilaranth followed along behind his heels, keep his head low to peer around R'ven's legs to make sure they didn't run into any obstacles. Not that the brown was worried, he was more than sure his would knock down anything that stood in their way – but, alas, R'ven didn't want to knock anyone down.
Shortly after Bonnie's arrival, in came R'ven carrying the baskets. He dropped all three with a loud exhale of relief. "Shardit, I think I'm going to be done after this," He complained loudly, thinking himself alone, as he rubbed gingerly at the crink in his neck. His eyes fell on L'nu and R'ven froze, blinking openly at the younger weyrling. "Er, hey.."
His gaze darted to Paglieth, Bonnie, then to the glow basket currently housing L'nu's fingers. ".. Need help?"
Isn't that counter productive, to offer to help more when you were planning to take a break. R'ven grunted softly, glancing back over his shoulder at Trilaranth. The fawn colored brown lingered in the door way, eyes slightly narrowed with a visible blue hue as he silently gazed at his clutch brother.

Paglieth blinked when he suddenly had a flitter added to his bag of glows, a tail snaking around his snout. A muffled croon escaped him, as his slowly spinning eyes took on happy colors. Best not talk to her - he'd probably bungle it badly. Best to just leave communication simple. Keep from confusing the poor thing. He reached after her when she left, to go visit L'nu.
L'nu also blinked at the sudden appearance of the flitter. "Well! Maybe you -" he would have said 'could be helpful', but stopped bothering to try to finish when she made her way down his arm to his shoulder. He would have frowned, but the loving attention only made him giggle a bit, scrunching up his nose and grinning.
The sound of the laundry baskets impacting the floor made both the weyrling and his dragon jump, though, and two sets of eyes turned toward R'ven in a rather shocked setting, Paglieth's bag swinging a bit wildly from the turn of his head to see. The only one that didn't seem shocked was Rose, who came screaming back at the top of her lungs, to flutter around L'nu's head. She was rather offended that another flitter was using her pet as a perch, and was letting Bonnie know it at the top of her lungs as she fluttered around L'nu's head, practically blinding him. Off, off off!! L'nu didn't take to kindly to that, though, waving an arm at her while still trying to wriggle glows up out of that bowl on the wall. "Rooooooseeeee!!" He complained.
Help? Help? Did he really say help?! "Yes! Please!" L'nu finally let go of the basket to free both hands to try and grab for Rose - he would have had her dead to rights if she hadn't snapped between at the last instant. "Ahh, silence... um ... yes. I can't really reach in the baskets very well ..." he grinned a bit worriedly, before looking over at where Bonnie was.
Paglieth crooned again, still muffled, this time in greeting to R'ven and Trilaranth.

Bonnie fanned her wings out from where she perched, her tiny claws digging into shirt as the youth flailed around at the screaming gold. What was the big fatty going on about – Bonnie chittered right back in her decidedly soft, musical tone. It wasn't her fault the gold was so big and awkward that she felt ignored compared to such a elegant green such as herself. Bonnie couldn't help it if she was more appealing than Rose to the nearby males..
Trilaranth rumbled in amusement at their preening mindmate. R'ven, however, didn't find the situation as humorous. The screeches from the gold were prone to give him a headache – this wasn't the first time the two flitters had a spat. Sharing a room with the clashing personalities had a clear downside. R'ven mentally prodded the friendly green. It surprisingly took very little to bring her back to him. With a parting playful croon, Bonnie returned to her mindmate in the same unique dance that had the habit of drawing the eye – her intent; obviously she loved the attention.
"I see that," R'ven commented with a faint smile as he walked over. "It seems to amuse the drudges to assign the shorter candidates to these chores. If the gossip is to believed, it usually produces interesting results.." And even gossip had a grain of truth to it, before it was polished and reshaped to be more interesting to a eager ear. If there was one things drudges loved to do, it was gossip. "Even better they don't seem to inform anyone that they have hooked bars to take these down.."
The smith reached up, pointing to the loop of metal located on top of the basket. In turn it was connected to a latch that was pinned into the wall. He lifted the whole basket up (an easier feat when taller) and handed the metal basket to younger weyrling to have the glows changed. He lingered there, ready to put it back into place once L'nu was done.
You dropped some. Trilaranth informed his clutchbrother. A few glows had fallen loose during the blue's head whipping around. The brown idly flicked his tail tip at the small round round, sending it rolling back toward Paglieth.

L'nu turned quite red around the ears as he realized that the baskets could - and would - come down. How embarrassing!! It was a miracle he hadn't accidentally dislodged on and fallen and cracked his head in the mean time, since he'd been assuming that they were quite securely attached to the walls and had been leaning heavily on their rims. A miracle indeed. "... er ... thanks." He managed, timidly. Working quickly, he scooped out the dead glows and added fresh ones to the basket.
I didn't? Paglieth answered his brother, sounding as if he was surprised and inquisitive, despite the words. He dropped his head to see what glows might have escaped his bag. Unfortunately, this allowed the bottom of the bag to hit the floor, and the mouth to open and descend ... all the rest of the glows tumbled right out. OH NO! Paglieth wailed, dropping the lip of the bag entirely as he tried to catch the escaping glows with his mouth and paws. Naturally, this only made a bigger mess and scattered them further. A small audible wail escaped the despairing dragon as glows scattered far and wide across the floor, out of his control.
L'nu turned around to see what was going on, and his brows crunched together over his nose as he didn't know whether to laugh or sigh in despair. Paglieth was something else entirely. He meant well, he really did. But ... execution really left a lot to be desired, for sure. "Paglieeeeeeeth ..." he said, simply, which resulted in the blue flopping onto his belly on the floor and hanging his head in shame, snout cupped in both front feet so that his nostrils were entirely hidden.
L'nu finally decided a grimace was appropriate, and then stooped to try and sweep glows back together with his hands. "Sorry about that..." He apologized to R'ven.

"Although where that arm bar is to take these down I'm not so sure. I think one of the shorter drudges hides it so someone else doesn't take it.." Easing the basket out of L'nu's hand, R'ven latched it back to the wall. "No problem. The advantage of being tall, I can reach things.."
A half smile flitted across his face, but it soon disappeared at the sounds of the glows rolling across the stone floor. Mentally R'ven sent an almost accusing question to his dragon. The brown snorted from his end of the bond, I merely told him he had dropped some and he fixed that problem by dropping a lot more. Such a trouble maker, my brother.. Trilaranth's tail dropped down to lay flat on the floor in front of the door to prevent any of the glows from escaping the room.
Bonnie thought it was all in good fun, and she dived off her high perch of R'ven's shoulder and swooped low over the ground. Her little claws clutched at one of the rocks but she found it too heavy to lift. Chittering in annoyance, the olive-green landed on the floor and head butted one of the rocks to push it toward the blue dragon. See, see? Wasn't she the best?
Pouncing on a glow closer t Paglieth, Bonnie playfully rolled onto her back with the glow in all four of her claws. She fluted slyly up at the blue, inviting his attention to her, since he had all but covered his eyes with those big feet. Didn't he understand he wouldn't be able to see her if he did that? Silly blue.
Shrugging, R'ven gave L'nu a lazy grin. "Accidents are bound to happen, at least it's just glows." He moved over to Pagliet, stepping lightly around Bonnie who merely crooned up at his tall frame. The bag retried, R'ven gave a reassure pat to Paglieth's head before moving back over to the younger weyrling. He deposited the bag next to L'nu before the youth could think to trying to scuttle around with his arm full of glow rocks.
The smith knelt down to assist the other, glancing warily toward the gaps under the furniture big enough to allow the rocks to roll. Pointing at these space, R'ven gave L'nu a nudge. "And this is where your smaller shape comes in useful. Could you reach under there..?"

"Paglieth, if you don't get up, you're going to crush them, and then they won't glow very good anymore." L'nu warned, trying to prod his dragon back to his feet with his mind and words, even as his hands tried to gather up the glows without damaging them too much. He grinned his thanks when R'ven dropped the bag nearby, scooping as many as he could into the sack. "Thanks!" He said, appreciatively. He was quite glad that R'ven was being so helpful... and he was doubly glad to have the weyrling as a room mate as opposed to some of the others. Who were by far less understanding. L'nu often found himself becoming reluctant to even talk to anyone due to always feeling like a fool.
"I guess I should ask after that rod, then." He mentioned thoughtfully, sweeping more glows together with his hands. Of course, it would help if he were told these things instead of everyone assuming he knew. It wasn't like he had grown up in the Weyr or anything. Granted, holds probably had the same things, but he never paid any mind to those either. Huurrrrrr.
Paglieth peeped past his own feet at the green, and watched her for a moment before lifted his head free of his paws and just watching her. The end of his tail flicked back and forth in amusement as he witnessed her playful mannerisms. Reaching forward with his head, he nudged her gently with his nose, blowing on her. Ugly big flitter! he praised, not realizing he'd just used all the wrong words.
