Platinum Egg – This egg is similar in shade to the Silver Egg, but all similarities end there. Rather than the dimmed glitter its sibling egg possesses, this egg is all shine. Almost blinding in its bright silver shade, one can see how this egg is eager to stand out. Thriving on any attention, it is a welcoming egg, greeting whoever touches it with soft, eager emotions, but maintains a firm level of sophistication in this way. Though it’s a little small, it is larger than many of the eggs that are truly considered small. Fortunately, its silver glow makes up for it, truly platinum rather than its silver brother. All light seems to be absorbed in the metallic shell, wanting to be the one that solely brings light to the clutch. It is one that attracts dreamer, eager to lead them on the path to success with those dreams.
Lapis Lazuli Egg – Among a group of smaller eggs, this one seems to be the rival of the Tourmaline Egg when it comes to beauty. The two are situated beside each other, as if determined to outdo each other by calling as many people to it as possible. It is a deep, luscious blue in tone, with waves in it as though it were made of marble. A few strands of a jade green lay beside each other in splotches in various parts of its shell, appearing to be like an oceanic planet with a few islands littered across its waters. This egg seems to call anyone it can in a desire to be the most beautiful of all, but to those who approach the Tourmaline Egg before it, beware: This egg will seem to scorch your fingertips.
Pyrite Egg – Don’t let this egg deceive you. Whereas its gold coloring seems to make it appear like a queen egg, it is not one. Not only did Aslath place it among the rest of the clutch, but it is far too small to be a queen egg. Despite this fact, this egg seems to trick any candidates that this is a queen. It is a bright, golden color, but upon closer inspection, it is just a light, metallic yellow-brown. Deceit appears to come easily to this egg, who is also mottled with shining squares of gold. Tending to attract the gullible, it may be doing itself more harm than good: Boys may have problems approaching this egg for its similarity to a queen, but attracting the more gullible girls who would fall for this eggs clever little trick. This small egg is among the larger eggs in the center of the clutch, where one may see its desperation to be a true queen.
Ruby Egg – This egg is clearly the largest of this clutch. Standing in the dead center of all the eggs, this egg seems to rule the clutch with an iron fist. No other eggs lie too close to this egg, perhaps out of fear or reverence toward their largest sibling. However, despite any intimidation, this egg seems unmoved. It beckons only the strong of heart, and any weaklings will have their fingers burned should they touch this egg. The shell of this egg is a bright, glimmering red that has the perfect amount of shine to make it look like the jewel it is named for. No other mark mars this perfectly shaded egg, making it a pure, dazzling, jewel, yet one that tends to frighten most people away.
Sapphire Egg – Delicate is the first word people will think of when asked to describe this egg. The small size of this egg, coupled with the more circular shape than oval, seems rather innocent in the exterior. The shading of this egg is a perfect, dark blue, its metallic reflecting a little bit of white light at certain angles, but generally remains more like a plain metallic than anything else. People tend to be attracted this egg merely for the sake of how sweet it looks, but touching it will make people sense the barest hint of mischief emanating from the blue shell. This make it call out to the young or childlike, the innocence and mischief mixing to create the perfect image of a young child.
Silver Egg – This egg is a strange one, to say the least. It retains a feeling of kindness even as it is aloof, distant and dreamy. The shell is a soft silver shade, not the type to reflect light, but more to absorb, resembling more like average metal than actual sterling silver. The silver is fuzzier, yet full of more glitter, in some places, rendering it analogous to that of a snowflake save in the color. This welcoming egg is large, nestled amongst some of the more medium sized eggs, calling to it anyone. As it seems to absorb any light, one wouldn’t be surprised to feel a gentle, incredible warmth at their fingertips when touching this tender egg.
Amethyst Egg – Situated amongst the little eggs, this small egg fits right in. The metallic shell is a deep violet shade, sparkling with a bright happiness. When in the right light, the part of the egg one focuses on is more vibrant, and the rest pales in comparison, but gains shine. This egg truly is a jewel, its perfectly egg-shaped form even from its narrow top to wide bottom. It beckons all closer, wanting as many people to caress its vibrant shell as possible, seeming almost eager to just leap out of the egg and have a look at all the people who spend a part of their precious Touching-time just stroking this grateful egg’s shell.
Opal Egg - Though similar in many ways to the Pearl Egg, this egg is certainly the more mischievous of the two. Having more of a shine, and more of an opalescent glow, it beckons people to its small form eagerly. The shell is, usually, a gentle white color. It has an almost fuzzy texture, even though the egg itself is smooth. The rainbows that play on this shell in sunlight are made of warm pastels, the pinks mingling with blues and greens in joyous celebration. A celestial glow radiates from this little egg, a light that is almost warm to the touch. It does not have a preference as to who touches it, simply eager for any sort of attention that it can attract.
Hematite Egg – This small egg is in the outer ring of the clutch, keeping to itself in peaceful solitude. It beckons none closer, yet chases none away. It will greet whoever touches it with warmth, but it isn’t truly a concentrated warmth—this warmth is rather distant, almost as if this egg forgot to provide it at its touch. The sharp, metallic shell is a solid black, glimmering like the ring around an eclipse, the contrasting black shell and white light making it appear very dreamy, distant, and perhaps mildly wary. Whatever the cause, this egg has a very cosmic feel to it, seeming almost like a stone that dropped from space.
Diamond Egg – One of the large eggs of the clutch, it seems torn. Even though it is one of the largest, it seems to duck away from the Ruby Egg, with almost an intimidated air, nearly fearful. Despite this, it is welcoming to the candidates, appearing strong for their sakes. Whether or not it truly is brave, however, is something that remains unknown. The color of this shell is metallic, like so many others of this clutch, in a shade of white that looked almost like a frosty blue. It is possible to see your reflection from it, but it comes out fuzzy and distorted. Attracting those who long to lead, this egg stands proudly in the clutch.
Pearl Egg - This medium-sized egg is rather laid back, nestled in the midst of its brethren, but not obtrusively. This egg is relaxed, simply watching how the other eggs as this one enjoys observing. This egg is white, but has a soft shine to it. In the light, one can barely see a faint, whirling pastel rainbow against the egg, but right when one comes up to touch it, it jumps to another portion of the egg teasingly. It seems popular amongst the childlike and the brilliant, not seeking to attract power, but the rainbow hues are a marvelous thing to admire. This silent, pleasant egg makes its call to nobody in particular, but would be gracious to anyone who decided to approach it.
Topaz Egg - Though this large egg appears to the average onlooker as a light brown shade, the observant would see that is not its true color. When light hits this egg at the right angle, one can see that no, it is not brown. It has an orange glint to the shell, this subtle gleam its disguised color. Perhaps it is because of that hidden color that the Topaz Egg has an air of mystery about it, one that attracts only the inquisitive. This egg lies amongst the large eggs, towards the center. It shows no fear of its sibling the Ruby Egg, but is not close to it, probably out of something akin to irritation of how egotistical it seems. Whatever hatches from this odd egg probably will not be terribly friendly toward those with over-sized egos, but open hostility would never happen.
Emerald Egg - This egg is perhaps the definition of 'a perfect egg.' Evenly shaped, the shell is smooth to the touch, without even a single pockmark to mar its appearance. In fact, the sides are so smooth that they even appear to be slightly angular, making it analogous to a carved jewel, like the emerald it is named for. The color of this shell is also magnificent to behold: A deep forest green, it reflects the light that caresses it. This makes this lovely egg seem like a green star, its radiance and simplicity attractive to many. The way it relaxes in the sands amidst the eggs is serene and laid back, matching the coloring perfectly, and calling out to candidates who are of this similar mindset. This perfect egg is calm in its innocence, beckoning closer those who are satisfied in life.
Peridot Egg - Dainty and petite, the Peridot Egg lies in a cluster amongst the other smaller eggs of the clutch, with mild excitement that is reminiscent of a gossiping teenager, always looking over her shoulder to make sure she won't get caught by the person she talks about. The shell of this egg is a light green shade, but has the trademark shine of this clutch, reflecting its light shade off with a dazzling glow. However, a slightly darker stripe runs alongside the egg, curving in an oxbow about two-thirds of the way down. However, the egg flaunts it off like a beauty mark, sitting in a way to show it off to the candidates as they enter the Hatching Ground. Unlike other eggs, the Peridot Egg seems easily frustrated with the candidates, demanding only those with haughty attitudes capable of keeping up with this fiery egg.
Alexandrite Egg - Tipping on the larger size of the eggs, this egg lies amongst most of the larger eggs in the center of the clutch. Unfortunately, it is one easily overlooked. It does not call to candidates, making it so only a desperate one would claim it as their own. The little feeling this large egg does give out is not a fun-loving one, but seeming more like a stern archivest who shushes the young apprentices in the Archives. The coloring of this egg, however, is one to be admired. A deep purple, its shine is little, but the black-blue tinge to it makes it seem interesting, mysterious, intense. Even though it does not call out to people, the coloring alone is enough to attract a few curious and admiring glances from the candidates.
Marble Egg - Off in its own little world lies the Marble Egg, distant from the clutch, but vaguely situated amongst the smaller eggs. It is fairly small, but some would dispute that it is actually medium sized. Many of the eggs of this clutch are smaller than this little dreamer. Of course, this egg doesn't care how it is classified, merely sitting there in happy oblivion in its nest of sand. The color of this egg is also curious. It doesn't have the same glint that the rest of the clutch carries, but its coloring is smooth. It is a perfect white shade, but black, uneven stripes run across it in a tangle web of vertical threads. Some of these threads are thick, and other just barely discernable, making one think it a polished countertop made of the stone it is named for. Because of how aloof this egg is, it tends to attract dreamers and observers, the gentle fun-loving candidates of all genders.
Turquoise Egg - Bright. Cheerful. Lovable. All of those words are words that can apply to this little beauty. Practically begging everyone who comes near it to touch it, the Turquoise Egg offers warm feelings to any who does the same to it. Lying with the small eggs, this one can be considered medium sized, overshadowing the others it lies with, but looking small in comparison to the giants like the Ruby Egg and the Malachite Egg. The shell appears to have a soft texture, a light blue that seems almost chalky. Brown and green veins run through the shell like ichor that runs through a dragon. The brown veins tend to be thicker, often making splotches and freckles along the shell. However, these little marks add to the friendliness of this egg, making it popular amongst those of a similar mindset.
Peacock Ore Egg - If one were to quickly glance at it, it seems ugly and brown. However, when one truly stops to pay it attention, a variety of colors sparkle up in splotches along the shell, as if cast on by splatter paint. Deep blues, luscious greens, fiery pink, and soft violet all project from the shell like a dyed glowbasket. Despite the colorful exterior, this solemn egg does not attract, does not wish for attention. This medium egg lies in limbo between the small eggs and the large eggs, having no desire to be classified as either one. If obnoxious candidates are close by, a ferocious feeling will be sent towards them, perhaps scaring them away. This egg is not one for whiney babies. Only a true warrior can have the honor of touching this colorful eggshell.
Tourmaline Egg - A strange mix of green and deep purple, this egg manages an aura of extreme beauty-- and vanity. The deep green is the main background color of the shell, but the purple-pink splotch that lies in the center of it on one side is mirrored in the other. This makes this green seem like the light cast off of a star, with the purple being the core. It is a beautiful egg, attracting both the vain and the spirited. However, this egg shares a rivalry with the Lapis Lazuli Egg. If you touched its sibling before it, do not even attempt to come onto the Tourmaline Egg's good side. It will burn your fingers to the touch, and perhaps might even make them raw for several days. Pleased with its beauty and demanding only the same, very few are welcomed to touch this lovely shell
Crystal Egg - Small and round, this simple egg is more like a chicken egg than anything else, really. The shell is a pure, metallic white, with silver shimmers swirled along the sides. The silver catches in the light, making it purely radiant in the golden glow of the Hatching Ground. This egg is an unchained spirit, the emotions flying wild and varying extremely depending on the dispositions of the candidates around it. If a happy person is nearby, ecstasy is reflected in the golden reflections on the silver sparkles. However, if someone of sour mood approach, a fearsome anger erupts, making the gold appear like fire to the frightened passersby, the loud emotion making those around it quail in fear. It attracts nobody in particular, rather preferring to be free.
Malachite Egg – One of the largest eggs in this clutch, it has a firm aura, one that is strong, yet kind. Unlike the self-assured Ruby Egg, this egg is gracious to any that chose to touch it. The warm feelings sent out from this shell are comforting to all, even though it prefers the company of the brave of heart. A deep, forest green makes the majority of this simple egg’s pattern, although three uneven stripes of a lighter green run vertically through the egg. It also has a little bit of a creamy texture, though it isn’t the same sort of creamy kind one would expect from a small egg. No, this egg is pure shine, and attracting those who would like to do the same.
Jade Egg – Small and sweet, this egg can be comparable to a candy-coated chocolate. It is fairly small, and has the slightly rough texture that candies like that have. It even smells slightly like chocolate, which draws many people, making large crowds that this egg absolutely revels in. The shell is a dark green, but there are lighter green swirls coating the egg to make it seem as though milk was mixed in with this delicacy in the batter. It glimmers in the light, and at certain angles, it doesn’t even appear to be green, but rather just a pure reflection of light. It happily calls out to anyone interested in it, though the illusion that it is a sweet may repel some people who consider themselves too mature for such a sugary substance, but everyone has the secret desire to just breathe in the delicious aroma.
Citrine Egg – This egg is settled nicely in the scale of large and small eggs, almost exactly in the middle to cause dispute as to whether this was a large, small egg, or a small, large egg. However, not many people feel like wasting their breath on this egg. It is rather pitiful how nobody likes to approach it, but it cannot be denied that this egg simply repels people. It has no desire to be touched, and can make your fingers tingle at the slightest touch. The shell is rather peculiar, being a vivid orange, perhaps an orange of warning not to touch this bitter egg. There are brown undertones to this egg, perhaps symbolizing the dark aspect of this egg, being further suggestion to keep the candidates away.
Garnet Egg – Considered one of the more ‘perfect’ eggs of this clutch, this egg seems to be the ideal dragon egg. It is small, but not terribly so, and meekly sits in the sands in the cluster of small eggs. It awaits attention like a puppydog, happy to accept any sort of love from anyone. The shell is a smooth, glimmering one of the deepest purple-red anyone could think of, solid and true of shade, free of any blemishes or cracks. It lies in wait like a precious jewel, perfect in shape, yet unmined in its damp cave. However, this egg will only be mined by one person, but as this person is unknown as of yet, this perfect egg will patiently wait until that right person comes along, the person who will make the hatchling within a true dragon. Not exactly calling out to anyone, it will simply accept anyone who comes along to touch it with whole-hearted, genuine love.
Aquamarine Egg – Sturdy, yet dainty, this egg is far from the smallest of the clutch, but still manages to be petite. This egg is truly peculiar, possessing perhaps the most jewel-like quality of all the eggs. The majority of the egg is light blue, but angular shapes of darker blue are places in careful, simple patterns along the shell, making it seem as though the egg is truly angled, even though its shell is smooth. This is a genuine jewel among eggs, and it’s a wonder females candidates don’t try to wear it about their maiden necks. Despite its gorgeous coloring, this egg tends to not really call out to people, yet doesn’t repel. It would never actively seek out a candidate during the Touching, but it wouldn’t intentionally chase them off.
Rose Quartz Egg – Solitude is among the things most cherished by this stoic egg. It rests off to the side of the clutch, on the outskirts of a group of medium eggs that lie together. Though it is about medium sized, it seems to only hang out with the others like it simply out of necessity. It doesn’t want to call attention to itself by being completely alone. As one might say, the loneliest person could be found in a group of many. This loneliness isn’t the bad sort, however. It likes being alone, so it has nothing to complain about. The color of the shell, however, suggests merriment. It is a pale pank, with extremely faint swirls of white along it. This, unfortunately, may attract people that enjoy the color pink. Its deeper call, however, goes out to those of its similar emotions, to those who embrace loneliness.
