It had finally happened. There was no denying it, but Minth had gotten bored and slightly depressed because of it. Even now, she lay on her ledge, head on forepaws, brooding slightly. She would have gone and visited Lketh, but her albino friend wasn’t on his ledge and she didn’t feel like bothering him. Granted, he’d told her she was a never a bother to him, but that didn’t do much to make her feel less like she was imposing sometimes. True, she had Hers and her little friends in Akos and Vyran, but she couldn't exactly do much with them.
With a deep breath, the green sighed.
Anusha looked up from her meal. She’d brought it up from the kitchen, her dragon’s dour mood getting to her. “What is it, Minth?” she asked, splitting a roll. I am bored. the green replied. “You are very bored as of late. Why don’t you go visit Lketh or Weith?” Anusha asked. Lketh and His are not in their weyr and Weith is feeding. “Why don’t you join him then?” I am not hungry. Minth replied, sounding a tinge annoyed. “I am out of options then, my dear,”
Minth huffed again, her stomach making a faint noise as she adjusted herself. With this sedentary life, I can almost hear myself getting fat and lazy. Anusha bit back the urge to remark to her dragon that she was becoming neither.
Come play with me, Minth sent out, a quiet plea into the minds of the nearby dragons. Most of the northern ones would probably ignore her, but her southern-born friends might answer.

Did someone say play? Peppeth's high, cheerful voice rang out in response to Minth's call. The tiny green twirled out of the air and landed on a nearby ledge. She almost never missed a chance to play or socialize. This was especially true since moving North with only some of the dragons she was used to seeing. Not all the new dragons seemed to want to play with her and sometimes it made her sad.
Hello Minth! What should we play? Should I bring Mine too? She gets lonely. Back in her weyr, Farryl rolled her eyes. I don't get lonely, she complained. She worked at the chore of oiling Hobbs, Kurro and Faii. Hobbs had been fairly easy, but the twins tended to squirm and complain about who was getting more attention. Silly things never seemed to understand that she loved them both equally, not to mention Hobbs and Peppeth. Who could be lonely with such loud mouths around?

Epifayrmuth was not a dragon prone to boredom, he tended to treasure his moments of idleness and the current one, which saw the dwarfed dragon lounging on his ledge with a jewel bright selection of smaller dragonkin adorning his head like an odd crown, was no real exception. Normally his rider had so many great ( or at least ’great’) ideas that it was sometimes hard for his mindmates to keep up with him. Fortunately today’s great idea had been that Mo’rya should go and lever another southern born rider out of her weyr, something that hadn’t required a ride, or even any moral support.
A clattering sound behind him made the small bronze sigh and turn his slightly overlarge head, and his passengers, to look back into the weyr. ‘Peaceful hours are over!’ The tall figure called cheerfully.
So I note… the dragon replied dryly, as Mo’rya bent to pick up the things he’d knocked on the floor on his way in.
‘Silence, unless you have an idea.’ The bronzerider retorted without much feeling.
Epifayrmuth ignored his rider and swung his head around to glance at first Minth, then Peppeth. I would love to play with you. He told the two southern born females. Mo’rya’s destroying the weyr, he can do that by himself.

Oh, but I would love to play with you, Peppeth! Minth crooned to the brighter, striped green. Minth stood up on her ledge, shaking dust and scree from her hide. Akos clung to her head with his tiny claws but to no avail. Giving up on his endeavor he allowed himself to be thrown before opening his wings and gliding away.
Oh, dear, Minth commented, lowering her head to sniff him. He schttled back to his spot on the green's head. Mine doesn't have her hatchling today. I think he is with Weith's. Anusha made an indescerable noise that sounded oddly of disapproval. "Go play, Minth. Just don't hurt yourself!" Anusha said, spooning potato to her mouth. Yes, the peace would be nice.
If yours is being fussy then we would more than love to have you join us! and Minth leapt into the air. Perhaps a game of tag? Or we could spar or race? Minth circled lazily in the air, the wind moving over her neck and back where the riding leathers usually sat but where currently absent. The sensation was a bit peculiar.

Peppeth launched herself from the ledge and did a little twirl in the air. Now even more friends had come to play and it was turning into a delightfully fun afternoon. Hello Epifayrmuth! More the merrier! she called happily. She thought about each of Minth's suggestions for a few moments. Oh! We should play tag! she declared happily. It is like racing and sparring at the same time! Peppeth purred with pleasure at this discovery.
