Ahoy Selenitians!
It has been brought to my attention that some things on our character creation are not 100% clear right now.
First of all I want to apologize for that. I know it’s been a point of frustration for a few of you and hopefully this can clear it up a bit. As always when I am finished if you have any questions you can feel free to pm me about them or post them here.

Let’s review the current character rules and restrictions we do have in place right now for starters.
If you are making a candidate for dragons or whers then these rules apply.
1) Candidates are not allowed to be physically or mentally incapable: There will be no blind, deaf, paralyzed, etc. Candidates Standing. At all. They all go through a physical exam before being accepted so there will be NO exceptions to his rule.
2) Dragon Candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 25.
3) Wher Candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 32.
4.) Sexuality will not effect impression here. HOWEVER Gender will.
Only in the case that girls will not ride bronze and boys will not ever ride gold.
Sorry that is not up for discussion and is one area where we WILL stick to cannon.
Those rules have not changed and still stand.
What HAS changed with the time skip and the new summit rules is this.
Weyrbred candidates (which means children born of riders CURRENTLY living at the weyr or born of drudges and weyrfolk) are allowed to live in the weyr and attend all lessons and live as normal candidates like usual.
Where it becomes different is where the holder children are involved. How they work is as follows.
1) When a gold dragon or wher clutch is LAID, as in currently on the sands, the weyrs will send out a messenger to the holds and ask for children to be tithed.
2) A set number of children will be tithed from all holds.
3) These children cannot be currently involved in ANY craft and they also must not be directly related to the lord holder. As in no sons or daughters of lord holders can be tithed.
(This rule was pushed at the summit by Ruliana’s father the lord holder of Nerat who lost his ONLY heir to the weyrs when Ruliana impressed Amalath. The Lord holders were made paranoid by the situation and decided the rule needed to be placed. The dragonriders did not disagree as anything can happen in the lines of succession which is why lord holders usually do have so many children)
4) When these children arrive at the weyr they will be looked over by a search dragon. If they are found suitable for impression by the dragon they will stay at the weyr and attend lessons until the eggs hatch. If they are not approved they will be sent back to their respective holds. If they ones who are not suitable for dragons would still like to be considered for whers then they can make that fact known then and they will be added to a list for the next wher hatching but still be sent back to their hold till that time comes.
5) After the eggs hatch any holder candidates left standing will be sent back to their holds until the next dragon or wher hatching happens. Rinse and repeat until they impress or are too old to stand. Hopefully they will decide to pick up a craft before they get too old to enter one should they not impress.
6) I expect that because of the age when most kids start their apprenticeships for crafts, holder children candidates will be pretty rare which is what the summit was shooting for.
Now on to premade riders and wher handlers.
Riders can be from Selenitas, Inverness or they can be Ex Fort or Ex Benden. They can be created from any time before, during, or after the war as well as long as you follow the histories and records provided on site. Any questions about histories can be pmed to me and I will guide you in the right direction. Alternately most of our long standing older members have a very good grasp of what went on and can help you as well.
Wher handlers can only be from Selenitas Weyr originally. Or born in Selenitas Hold where Gold Eikask is currently living.
If any of your riders or handlers have a craft they MUST now live in a hold after the year 3020. NO exceptions.
Restrictions on riders and handlers are as follows currently.
1) You can have up to two metallic creatures at one time.
Either two bronzes or a bronze and a gold.
Only one gold of any species can be owned at one time.
One of your two metallic limit can be pre-created as long as numbers allow for it. The other can only be impressed icly.
Currently NO golds of any species can be created. Only impressed icly.
Bronzes of any species will be approved on a case by case basis.
2) If you already have a mutation dragon the only way you can get another is by impressing it icly. If you do not have a mutation dragon you can pick one off the list and get the profile from the owner of that gold.
3) Brown dragons currently will be restricted as far as creation. You may impress one icly but unless you are a new member do not be surprised if we say no to a brownrider premade right now. We will handle this on a case by case basis.
4) Selenitas riders are harder to make then Fort and Benden riders right now. This is due to the fact that Selenitas Weyr has been played icly for five years real life time and all the clutches have been planned out over the years.
If you want a rider from Selenitas your dragon will need to be born in one of the clutches on the clutch list board OR born before Gold Aslath was born in 3005.
5) Benden and Fort riders can be created from any of the years the board has been open. Also Inverness riders can be created from any of the current clutch records on site.
Here is a link to the clutches currently available Clutch Records
When making a dragon or wher from these clutches these rules apply
1) Make sure you have the year and sire and dam of the clutch in the profile.
2) Make sure your color is approved by the admins. Anything brown or bronze dragon wise needs an approval stamp currently. Go nuts on blues and greens PLEASE.
3) Only bronze whers need to be approved by the admins at this time.
4) You may have the dragon or wher premade for you by the gold owner (NPC gold babies will be written by the admins) Or write it yourself.
You are not required to have the gold owner write out the baby for you unless it is a mutation baby (which are clearly marked with (m). Mutation babies MUST be written out by the gold owner and approved by the admins.
Dragons
Gold Milleth babies will be written by Tashe.
Gold Nitrath by Ruby.
Gold Doryith by Ember.
Gold Kelopath or Gold Baith by Rei.
Whers
Gold Eikask by Ember
Gold Kaiusk by Zephyr
As mentioned before. You may write your own dragon or wher from ANY of these clutches. It is NOT required that you have the gold owner write it. We encourage people to write their own in fact.
4) If you want a dragon without a premade name you can pick from Baith, Kelopath, Or Doryith’s clutches. Milleith’s and Nitrath’s clutches already have names.
5) Whers as always are named after the person impressing them.
5) Any questions about any of this can be pmed to the administrators. Please field all pms to Rei currently as Ember is on hiatus.
Holders can be created almost without any restrictions save the character ones currently in the rules which are as follows.
1) Red hair and green eyes are limited. You may have one of each among your characters at any one time. You may not have both on one character, though.
2) Twins are not allowed to be created at this time. Nor will your character be allowed to birth twins. We are at our limit for them currently.
The only additional rule to holders currently are as follows
1) You must be active on the site for at least 3 months before we will allow you to adopt a lord or lady holder.
Other than that go wild with holders.
They can be insane, have physical problems, anything you can imagine. It would be nice to try and get the holds a bit active.
We would really like to increase our holder base and also start doing plots in holds but for that we need more hold based characters. ^^
Any questions about this small guide please pm me or post them below and I will answer them. Hopefully this clears up some of the previous confusion.
~~~~~
As a final note.
I desperately need a GOOD advertisement done for the site.
If ANYONE is interested in helping me out since I am graphics dumb please pm me for the info you will need.
You will be rewarded for it I promise. You will get your choice of flitter or mandyr egg or a nice spot in an upcoming plot.
Please consider helping out as far as advertising goes. If not for the site itself then for yourself.
The more members we can get the more fun you will have here and the more opportunities for plots and hatchings there will be.
As always lovelies thank you for your time and I hope this answers some of your lingering questions ^^
