Name: Kelinale
Age: 23
---August 3000
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Bluerider, Harper (Junior Journeyman)
Family[/u]
Mother: Alinas
Father: Keller
Siblings: N/A
Children: N/A
Physical Appearance: Shaggy brunette hair with a thin face are the trademarks of Kelinale. Eyes of blue are set into his face, framing a straight nose. He has a bit of a boyish, youthful look to him that may or may not ever go away, that is only enhanced by his nearly ever-present smile.
In height, Kelinale is average. He’s not particularly tall nor short, and his build is slender but otherwise unremarkable. He lacks broad shoulders, but neither are they narrow. While well proportioned, the best way to describe Kelinale is that he is agile. While not excessively muscled, Kelinale has the potential to be. He is toned enough to be useful and to not tire after hard work, however his endurance has not been built up to last a long length of exertion.
As for clothes, sadly this boy has a taste for things that are loose-fitting. It is not that his garments hang off him, its more that they are almost always a size too big and people can often very easily grab him by his shirt and pull him somewhere. To the contrary, Kelinale prefers pants with a waist that fits but for some reason still requires a belt, and room in the legs to move. Unlike most men, he has never been very fond of tucking his pants into his boots, and thus they often cover his footwear, the bottoms sometimes being a bit tattered.
Personality: Kelinale is an up-beat happy person. He is intelligent, clever, and has a good heart, but often plays the role of the comic relief. Kelinale is somewhat impulsive and daring in that he would be more likely to just kiss his crush mid-conversation and hope for the best. While this may not always lead to favorable results, this has led to his most common excuse for such acts as “some find spontaneity romantic”. Kelinale also may or may not have a tiny penchant for licking his friends.
While the man can seem excessively happy on the outside, (and on some days he just may be excessively happy), Kelinale has a bit of a serious demeanor. He follows orders very well, and does not often question his superiors. However, if he is challenged, Kelinale will stand up for himself. Threats to him will not go unchallenged and he is unafraid of fighting. A downfall of being so bold is that Kelinale tends to not know when to stop. Sure, blood is often a good sign, but it usually takes his opponent actually surrendering for him to trust said person enough to not attack him when he stops.
Aside from being charming and bold, or not depending on who you may be, Kelinale very much likes to sing. He uses his tenor voice to recall known tunes and songs, as well has simply make up silly ones as he goes along. The lyrics for these potentially musical abominations sometimes don’t make sense, but their point usually is to simply amuse or entertain anyway.
History:
3000-3005
Kelinale was born to Keller and Alinas of Fort Hold. The only other significant event of the year 3000 was the attack on Lake Dolphin Hall. His father, Keller, worked in the kennels and his own dog was the one that taught the boy to walk. By holding onto the ruff of the male Taur, Kelinale took his first steps, the patient hound tolerating it until the boy fell. After he grew into a confident toddler, Kelinale would chase his father everywhere until the man put the boy in with the puppies and caused many to joke that the child would be “raised by dogs”.
No one was sure what kept him going, but go he would and by the time the boy was five he had figured out the latch on the puppy kennels and was off again. This time he got himself into a batch of whistles used to train certain breeds. Of course, he would claim that it was the puppies that made him do it, but he was reprimanded either way and deep within him, a love for fiddling with things, especially if they made noise, was born.
3006-3009
Perhaps the most interesting part about Kelinale’s early, memorable childhood was that Thread fell. The idea captivated him for less than 24 hours before it ceased to be interesting. Being so young, he’d been kept indoors where it was safe and thus had never found the “rain” anymore significant. His only knowledge of it at the time was that he couldn’t play in it at certain times. Other than that, the only information he had about the world beyond his father’s dogs and doing the things children his age should came from his gossip mother. He heard about a Shmee and Aslath, someone’s suicide, and something about drugs at Benden. Nothing at that time quite captivated him however as the things immediate in his life.
Mostly, however, Kelinale found a passion for singing. He would chant anything from silly songs that made no sense to simple teaching ballads. Along with such he would blow on a hollow reed sometimes if he couldn’t get his hands on a whistle. As he got older eventually his father gave him a small whistle with a hole in the side that they no longer used to train the dogs.
3010-3013
It was the weyrling massacre in 3010 that Kelinale’s mother heard about that sealed his fate with a career in music. Fearing for her son possibly being taken to the weyr to fuel that Dragon War she had him taken to the Harper Crafthall. After all, he had been singing and playing with whistles all his life, why not be trained at it? It was there that, at the age of 10, Kelinale’s life of blissful ignorance ended. He heard about the murder of the Fort Weyrleaders by a Benden rider, and of the Junior Weyrwoman fleeing. As much as he would have loved to ignore it, he did not.
In fact, through his classes and nurturing his passion, Kelinale chose to keep up with the events that mostly involved Fort such as the siege of some Southern Weyr who’s name escaped him, and an attack on said weyr’s main hall. Mostly, however, Kelinale focused on plucking tunes with his friends and trying his best to rise in the ranks at the hall. When puberty struck he took up playing a flute and chose to specialize in it until his voice settled.
3014- (early)3017
Between the ages of 15 and 16 Kelinale’s voice slowly stopped cracking and settled into the tenor it is today. Since his voice didn’t have far to drop it didn’t take long for him to be able to sing again. With relish he took up a vocal specialization again, though he kept playing a flute, taking on a smaller one that would fit on his person comfortably. When he wasn’t singing he was playing on the silly little flute.
While life at Harper Hall wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, Kelinale found it easy enough. His boyish charm earned him friends and the obedience he learned from his father through the dogs earned him, if not respect, at least tolerance from his instructors. He moved from Apprentice to Journeyman without fuss or any significance beyond what tradition demanded.
Now able to travel, Kelinale went first to Fort Hold to visit with his family, to which he was gifted with the last pup from one of Taur’s daughters. The young female had failed to sell at a recent gather and wasn’t quite of good enough stock to breed within the kennels. Kelinale named the pup Cleric and took his assignment South. As much as he loved to stay in familiar land, a lust for adventure had taken hold of him. With that, he headed off to Blossom Hold, hoping to get some excitement in his life that would still keep him away from the areas that Fort had attacked, like High Reaches and the Selenitas Weyr.
From Blossom he felt a portion of the earthquake that rocked the southern continent and heard of the damage at it’s epicenter.
3017- 3019
Despite his sympathy for the lost souls of the earthquake, Kelinale remained at Blossom. After all, he is but a simple harper and would be useless in an effort better aided by dragons. Being in the south, however, has made Kelinale even more attuned to the goings on around him. He hears more and more about the weyr now north of him and intends to someday compose a tune about something that happens there and cement his name in the archives, for Selenitas seems to be the place where everything happens.
And happens things did. Kelinale nearly lost his candidacy when he was attacked (as he would put it) by Alcherion, a fellow candidate, in the bathing room in the Candidate Barracks. It served as a bit of a wake-up call that Kelinale was in fact not invincible. The resulting warning of "fight again and you won't Stand ever" and punishment made the boy rethink his strategy when dealing with people. He laid low and kept his head down until the Hatching of Notrath's first clutch.
Kelinale's world changed forever when blue kormath spoke his first words: Hey, K'nale.[/i]. Kelinale had a new name, a new dragon, and a new life as a bluerider. It was simple enough. K'nale and his large-winged blue were too young to fight in the Dragon War and thus settled for Thread, which was quite enough excitement for him, thank you very much, upon the dicovery of Kormath's "skin problem". The light blue hide on his face and belly was thinner and more fragile and his large wings made for larger targets for the silvery spores.
3020 - Present
With the Summit, came the news that K'nale's life would change yet again. In an effort to prevent another long Dragon War, restrictions were placed on the Weyrs, both Selenitas and the newly formed Inverness. Also, Crafters were no longer allowed in weyrs. As a Harper, K'nale would LOL BOLD LETTERS :D be forced to return to the North. Instead of being forced without choice, he was given the choice to select the Hold he would reside in. True to K'nale fashion, he chose Fort Hold to attempt to finish his harper training.
Beyond that, little else happend. With Wyerleader trials coming up, K'nale had no interest (and neither did Kormath) in trying, even if Kormath were bronze. While the bluerider had gotten used to Kormath going off on adventures (no matter how often he did it though, K'nale always felt uneasy), few people enjoyed seeing a stray blue lazing through the sky. This made K'nale's training difficult, since he had both duties as student and dragonrider. He missed his friends, I'nos of brown Tirneth and whatever his relationship was with Cairenn of Nildath (a "friendship borne of their dragons only), and however he stood with Py'pr of Quesseth.
But adventure never cared, so K'nale tried not to.

Halfling Blue

Name: Kormath
Age: 4 Turns
---August 2018
Color: Blue (003366), Markings (ccffff)
Appearance: Kormath is an attractive dragon, there is little doubt about that, but it isn't attractiveness in the typically masculine way. He has a distinctly feminine appearance, and 'Dainty' is a word that will frequently be applied to this blue. Small, rounded ridges along his back and delicate looking limbs combine with a long, slim snout and large, wide set eyes to basically eliminate anything male about the blue. He is a thin dragon, too, though that fact is not quite as noticeable as it could be, what with his short legs and compact length. Some dragons are small in bulk and others are small in length - Kormath is both. He is just a touch over the size of the largest greens but manages to seem smaller next to them due to his shorter legs and frail form. The only thing on this blue that seems out of place at all is his wings. In comparison to the rest of him they are positively huge - he could wrap himself in them if he really wanted.
Even if he's green-sized, though, it's clear that Kormath is no green. His hide is half and half - his face, the underside of his neck and belly, the front of his legs, and the tip of his tail are a pale blue, lighter than sky but not quite pastel blue. Instead of bright and cheery, the color shades towards gray, looking perpetually unhealthy. In contrast, a much darker blue drapes from his headknobs, down his back and tail, over his wings, and along the back of his legs, vaguely reminiscent of a cloak. This color is a rich royal blue with just a hint of green, healthy and shiny even without much in the way of oiling. Oiling will make this darker portion look even healthier, of course, but it will do little for the pale part of him. That part will flake and itch much faster than the darker part, and seems much thinner. Kormath would do well to protect his belly from thread and dangerous claws alike.
Everything about Kormath's appearance is unobtrusive - if he wants it to be. He's certainly attractive but the way he holds himself is a little hunched in on himself, wings partially wrapped around him like an over-large blanket. This makes him easily overlooked, and hides his surprisingly pale underbelly in a very standard, unmarked blue. This is usually a deliberate attempt not to attract attention to himself or a subconscious reaction to something that upset him. If he's not trying to mask his appearance, though, this blue is...well, the only word for it is 'open'. Kormath looks like the sort of dragon anyone would like to get to know better, and if his wings aren't obstructing his face he looks like he would be willing to be your best friend in the world. As long as he's not moving anywhere fast, anyway. Those short legs of his? They make grace on the ground awfully difficult. He can move and he can stay upright, but he will never be considered a beautiful walker. And those gigantic wings? They can hold him aloft sure enough but they're too ungainly for the aerobatics characteristic of blues. His slim build affords him little strength or endurance, either. Perhaps this suits Kormath best, though - he simply is and doesn't need any more than that.
Personality: Kormath is something of an unusual dragon. It's incredibly rare to find a dragon with so much desire for adventure that he would actually go and have his own without His. Kormath fancies himself a hero you see. Daring adventures, metaphorical damsels, a whole world to explore - he has wings and all the time in the world, so why not? As a hatchling he'll be prone to daydreaming and trying to convince his closest clutchmates - Nildath, Tirneth, and Quesseth - to accompany him on adventures throughout the weyr, especially while they are still small enough to explore all those lovely tunnels! Charismatic and funny, Kormath makes a great recreational leader among his friends, of which he will always have many.
This blue has the unique gift of being charming. He'll always be able to get along with the females of the world. He just gets them, regardless of species, and is more than willing to help his fellow males out with nudges in the right directions. Kormath will rarely use his understanding of the ladies for his own benefit. The only females he really bothers to chase are Nildath and Quesseth, although occasionally he'll skip the latter's flights to avoid 'fouling another's wings.' Kormath tends to hold himself a tiny bit aloof from his fellows until he gets to know them because he knows he's kind of odd and he doesn't like to be hurt. Betrayal of his trust is one of the worst things you can do to Kormath.
Kormath is an occasionally moody dragon. When he gets in one of his emo moods he overthinks things something fierce and tends to feel put-upon by all the perceived or real burdens he carries. As he gets older his moodiness will begin to be tainted by anger, a desire to strike out at something. He never actually will but he'll come close, so close that he'll horrify even himself. There is little anyone can do for him when he's in his (thankfully infrequent) moods other than stay by his side as silent comfort. He won't listen to words meant to make him feel better nor does he like to be touched in those instances. Eventually he'll pull out of it by himself and be all the more grateful to those who understand that all he needed was someone there for him afterwards.

Name: Cleric
Age: 8 Turns
---May 3016
Gender: Female
Species: Canine (Australian Kelpie)
Parents: Taur (Sire); Kira (Dam)
Progney: N/a
Appearance:
Cleric’s coat is the classic black and tan, with gray on her muzzle and around her eyes from age. She has dark brown eyes with erect ears and an intelligent face. Her back is straight and strong, and her hind sports a furred tail the curves slightly. She stands at about 20 inches (50.8 centimeters) tall with a healthy, 32 pound (~14.5 kilogram) weight. Her body is lean and sleek, with strong legs that leads to good agility and speed.
The physical downfall of Cleric is that she has a luxating patella, possibly inherited from her mother. Hers is a very minor case in that the patella can be luxated manually and resumes a natural position once released. The potential for it to worsen as she aged or to pass on to any potential pups made her undesirable in the kennels. She would be able to work but it would be limited and she would not be suitable for breeding in a kennel of some repute. Cleric, however, is still sound enough for light work, companionship, and non-kennel breeding. Because of this deformity, she has developed arthritis in her left knee. It makes movement difficult, in her older age, but nonetheless she still has a passion for chasing balls.
Personality:
Cleric is friendly and intelligent, as well as loyal to a fault. One of the things she hates the most is to be separated from “her person” and will whine and pace, but obey if told by Kelinale to remain in an area. If told to stay in a room, she will sit and wait by the door until his return, though if she is left waiting too long and the door is open she will search for him. Towards her person she will follow any known command he gives her (with aforementioned exception) and will, most of the time, obey commands given by people she knows and trusts. There is no doubt though that Cleric is Kelinale’s dog and whatever is his is hers, too.
Play, and especially “ball” and “cookie” are perhaps her favourite words. While a highly intelligent animal, if asked where her ball is she will pick up ANY ROUND OBJECT that will fit in her mouth and carry it to the speaker is she can not find her preferred toy. It is a good idea for whomever asks her, to have a ball on hand or else they might find they’ve been handing something that can not exactly be played with. Because of this, Kelinale keeps a ball in a belt pouch on him at all times, for the sake of any fire lizard nests that may be nearby.
Cleric does not like strange, aggressive people. If someone is looking to start a fight around this dog she will attack, or try to attack anyone seen as causing another person harm, even if it is only rough-housing unless told that its “okay”. While she does love to rough-house herself, she won’t bite unless necessary, but she will growl…a lot.

Name: Morrigan
Age:<1 Turn
---February 3018
Impressed To: Kelinale
Species: Fire lizard
Color: Green (E1FFD6 | 052D00)
Parents: Wild;Wild
Progeny: N/a
Appearance: Size wise, she’s longer than a lot of blue firelizards, but she’s rather thin and lanky, so she looks much smaller. Petite is a good term for this girl. She’s thin without a lot of obvious muscle, except for in her wings and tail. Though, this isn’t what first catches the attention of anyone who meets her for the first time. What others first notice is that her forelegs are tiny, shriveled little things. Obviously some kind of birth defect, they are absolutely unsuited for walking on. In fact, she prefers not to walk at all, even if she’s able to “walk” with her wings if she tries, she will prefer to fly. This lack of mobility has caused the muscles in her wings and tail to become absolutely massive. Because of the thick, powerful muscles in her wings and chest, she’s able to have the endurance of an average size brown and because of her small frame, the agility of a smaller green. Her tail is also extremely long and thin, almost prehensile, and she can use it to hold her in place.
Since she can’t walk, she’ll fly most of the time. She has also found out that hers’ makes an ideal perch, and she will spend a lot of time perched on hers’ shoulder, using her wings to keep her balanced because of the lack of forepaws. She’s an undeniably cute little flit, seemingly tiny and adorable, and decidedly unintimidating…but looks can deceive. And you will literally never have an idea what is going on in her little head. You might not know you’ve offended her until she tries to slash your throat.
In terms of color, she is mostly a very light, nearly pure white minty green. She would be mistaken for white in many lights and from most distances, if it wasn’t for her markings. Her light base coat is nearly unmarred, since she has very few markings. The markings she does have are quite severe indeed. A nearly black green which contrasts greatly against her light base coat encircles her eyes, and seems to run, as if she applied eyeliner and then cried. This gives her a perpetually spooky appearance. The same severe green colors the inside of her wings. It seems like an odd combination, and her colors surely crash, with both extremes of nearly white and nearly black.
Personality: Most green firelizards aren’t that intelligent. They are the “lowest” of colors, and as such, most just aren’t inherently all that smart. This little girl breaks all the stereotypes, not only that, but she blows them right out of the water. This girl is scarily smart. She knows things that a firelizard probably shouldn’t know. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to call her a genius. Her intelligence is on par with gold dragons, even if she doesn’t quite have the voice to express it. Revolutionary and brilliant, she has some amazing ideas. Too bad she’s stuck in a little firelizard body. She loves wondering what’s going on in the silly little minds of lesser beings (lesser beings being anyone except for herself of course). Obviously.
Extremely intelligent is this girl, and she’s honestly interested in what all is right and good with the world. She can get a little too intense in her beliefs…and she does have beliefs and is extremely passionate about them. Her passion can blind her sometimes to what really is right. She believes unfailingly about “a means to an end”. A bit of a chaotic lawful personality, as long as she has an end in sight, and that end is just and right, she can justify any means whatsoever to get there, even harming other beings if they get in her way. And she is quite ruthless when it comes to her pursuit of things. She wants what she wants and she will accept no substitutions. She often has a project she’s working on, because above all, she hates being bored. Boredom breeds stupidity, in her mind, and she isn’t keen on letting that happen. So, if anyone interrupts her while she’s working, she will blow up on them, and they better get far, far away…because while she isn’t very big, or even extremely scare, she’s a genius, and she will not hesitate to use whatever she can get her talons on to punish the offending being.
She often sees herself as a queen. She honestly believes that because of how smart she is, and she’s smarter than most humans, that she is better than them. She looks down her nose at other firelizards. Most of them are pretty smart, maybe not even close to her level, but she prefers to spend time around salamandyrs, because they are so blissfully stupid and easier to mold. Because she can be sweet, nauseatingly sweet to get what she wants…and if she wants a minion, she will flirt and charm the nearest stupid brown or blue salamandyr. When it comes to rising, she will rise, a lot. She’s an endless tease though, and while she welcomes firelizards and salamandyrs in her flights, she’ll probably only ever choose a salamandyr as her mate, mostly because most of them are really too stupid to present any sort of threat to her. She’ll assemble a harem of stupid males, eager to please her. She’ll shower them in shinies and treats, or whatever their silly little heart’s desire to keep them near her. Because while she doesn’t have the most street smarts, and she isn’t the most social little flit (in fact, she’s a bit of a social outcast. She doesn’t know how to socially act around others short of ordering them around), she has this underlying desire to be loved, above all else. She knows that no one in her harem actually loves her, they’re entranced by her pretty glow and unending treats.
It may not seem like it, but she does have a heart. She will have a favorite in her harem, and it will be obvious. To her harem members, she’s extremely attentive, adoring and undeniably loyal. If anyone could look past her superiority complex, they would be able to see that while she doesn’t show it, she’s extremely kind at heart. She just has far too many things going on in her head at one time, and no way of expressing these short of being overly demanding and aggressive. To her chosen human, she treats them almost like she would a harem member. She is loving and adoring, even if she sees hers’ as dreadfully stupid. She will shower hers’ in treats and gifts and be sickeningly sweet to them. Because what good is a human if not a means to an end? She isn’t nearly as sweet to other humans though, and to dragons she’s downright hateful, unless they belong to hers’. Whers fare slightly better, since most are kinda stupid (in her estimation).
