Humans:
Name: Annatolli
Age: 13 turns (Born April 3009)
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Rank: Candidate
Physical Appearance: Annatolli is a pretty young girl, though she probably won't be known for great beauty. Her face is round, with freckles scattered over her nose and cheeks. Her golden hair is curly, long and hard to keep under control, even when she tries. Her dark brown eyes are deep, but full of bright cheerfulness. She stands at average height for a girl her age, around four feet and ten inches, though she hasn't stopped growing yet. Her body is a bit rounded, possibly from sneaking too many treats from the kitchen. It doesn't slow her down, though, as she can still run errands at a swift pace.
Anna likes all kinds of clothes, so long as they're comfortable. She can be picky about what she wears, preferring brighter colors if she can find them. She'll wear pants and skirts equally depending on her mood, but don't expect either to stay clean for long. She likes to keep her hair down as much as possible, though this can lead to it getting very tangled. When she helps in the kitchen, she tends to have it up in a handkerchief.
Personality: Annatolli is eternally optimistic. Even the most horrible of tragedies will not keep her down for long. She is a believer that everyone should live their lives well and to the fullest. Life is just too short to waste on being sad! As a result, she can have a very cheerful, and bouncy attitude that can get annoying at times. This doesn't mean she doesn't get sad or upset, but she usually doesn't dwell on such thoughts for long.
Anna loves to play and sometimes cause mischief. She seems to make it her goal in life to assure that everyone is having fun and staying happy, even if that means causing trouble to do it! Her plans don't always work, but failure doesn't discourage her. She see each new grumpy face as a challenge and it can take some convincing to get her to back down. She is also fully aware of her cute appearance and uses it to her advantage.
As she grows older, Anna will likely grow a bit more mature and more motherly in her nature. She will always be there for her friends and willing to listen to their worries and sorrows. She will want to see each of them healthy and well cared for, no matter what. Some of this will be used helping her foster mother in the kitchen, but she can also be found helping other children and even older candidates and adults with whatever they might need.
History: In the beginning of the Shmee's first turn as Weyrwoman, Annatolli was born to Annaede and V'tol. Her mother was Annaede was a kitchen working, born in the Weyr herself while V'tol was a bluerider originally from Blossom Hold. V'tol had been flirting with Annaede since he was a weyrling and Annaede grew pregnant after a failed Chase. The two shared an off and off relationship, and their daughter was half raised by her mother and half by the creche workers.
The turns passed quickly for young Annatolli. While her parents avoided getting mixed up in dangerous power struggles and survived deadly attacks, Anna mostly played with her friends in the creche or helped out in the kitchens. Her strongest early memory was of when she was three and the whers had come to evacuate the children during the Seige. A delighted Anna had gotten to ride a big, shiny wher and had been almost too excited to be frightened.
After than, Anna became more aware of the happenings at the weyr, or at least their effects on those around her. She remembers everyone growing tense when Hepaticath's eggs were nearly stollen and the joy when one of those eggs contained a queen, Jingth. Shortly after that, her mother came to tell her that her father, V'tol, would not be coming to visit her anymore. He had gone away with his dragon, Annaede had explained, and he was happy.
Annatolli was only 4 turns old and didn't really understand. She only knew that her mother was sad and she didn't like it. Anna made it her mission to keep her mother smiling and later, anyone she met. Then the Fever came. Against firm instruction, Anna snuck into the infirmary determined to cheer up the sad, sick people. While she did get a few smiles, she also got sick herself. Though she did recover, her mother was so upset and frantic that Annatolli decided that making people happy wasn't worth making them worry too.
Over the next few turns, Annatolli recalled some of the attacks from the North, though she hardly got to do more than evacuate with the other children. Mostly she remembered afterwards, bringing flowers and treats to the injured to cheer them. Sometimes it was hard to see all the pain, but their smiles were always worth it.
The Wastelanders changed all that. Annaede was terrified that her daughter might be harmed if she continued to wander the Weyr as she had done. She kept Annatolli close to her in the kitchen or in the creche. Anna hated being so confined, but she hated the fear even more. She didn't understand what made the new comers any different and why so many of her friends had suddenly left.
As the turn passed, however, Annatolli grew older. Now seven turns, she was smart enough to know what was happening, even if she still didn't understand it. Why was it so hard for them to just get along? Wasn't fighting Thread hard enough? Adults just didn't make sense half the time. Maybe someday when she was a rider herself, like her father, she would be able to change all that.
The earthquake came late one night when Annatolli was sleeping in the creche with the other children. Once more the whers helped them escape to safety and once on the surface, Anna immediately asked where her mother was. No one could tell her. It wasn't until the next day, that one of the surviving crecheworkers pulled her aside to give her the news. Her mother had been in the kitchen helping prepared meals for the wherhandlers when the fire broke out.
She passed peacefully, they said, but it was small consolation. Annaede hadn't been a perfect mother, but she'd always been there for Anna. Now she was gone, just like her father, and no amount of smiling would bring her back. Anna fell into a quiet depression, too absorbed in her own sadness to smile at anyone. Why should she? There was no one she cared about to smile back.
With no other family, Annatolli traveled to the newly rejoined Weyr with some of the other children. There she met Hoayamae. Hoayamae and Annaede had been friends for many turns and news of her death had saddened the older woman greatly. When she saw Anna, alone and sad, she pulled the girl aside and into her lap.
"Yer mother wouldn't want yah looking so glum," she'd said, not unkindly. "What would she say tah see yah now? Where's the shining smile beneath those golden curls?" Anna stared up at Hoayamae's familiar, gentle face and the tears came. She buried her face in the woman's skirts and cried and cried until her eyes grew dry. Finally, she wiped her tears and offered a small, weak smile.
"There yah go," Mae beamed back at her. "Yer mother would want yah to be happy and tah be yerself. Make her proud." Anna decided that she would. Life was far too short to waste being sad or angry. She would be happy for her parent's sake and remind others what it was like to smile.
Life was happier after that. Annatolli helped in the kitchens as well as played with the other weyrbrats. Phaiden was one of her best friends, since the girls were close to the same age. She didn't mind much about politics or the war, except when it made people sad. She always did her best to be helpful, though she worried when friends of hers or Mae's were sent off to battle.
She was glad when it was over, though, since most people seemed happier and more relaxed. At least until the people in charge decided to split them all up. Anna couldn't really understand why, though Mae had tried to explain. Mae had also told her she was going North as well and Anna decided she would go too. She didn't want the riders sent there to be sad just because they were far from home.
The turns past and Anna grew into a bright young woman. When she was twelve she began Standing at Inversness Hatchings. Though she had no luck Impressing, she loved seeing the little dragons from so close. She knew she was young yet and that one day a dragon would surely choose her too.
Fire Lizard
Name: Xelos
Colour: Blue base: #1C006Emarkings:#0C0428
Appearance: A lithe and lively seeming creature, he’s always first off the mark when it comes to aerobatics and generalised showing off, and he’s certainly got the form for it, a long lean body and delicate looking little wings that give him an amazing turn of speed and fantastic agility, however these attributes are paid for in endurance, this little blue has next to nothing in the endurance stakes but that never seems to matter to him in the slightest.
In coloration this blue is a deep sapphire shade from nose to tail, broken by inky blue-black markings. Like most of his clutch siblings this guy has a bandit mask around his eyes, but another two ‘mask’ type markings appear on his face, one above and one below the marking covering his eyes giving his forehead above the eyeridges and his muzzle their own masks, which are connected to the eye marking by a single thin line of blue black. This dark shade also fills in the wing membranes making his wings an instant attention capturer when he moves them.
Personality: Can anyone say class clown? Well that’s the image this little guy gives off. He’s prone to doing things purely to show off or to inspire laughter, or praise, or amazement, in fact any positive reaction will do for him, he’s not fussy. But while he plays the fool well and basks in the attention of his admirers this little blue has a hidden secret: He’s terribly insecure. In his mind he is the most repugnant creature to fly the skies of Pern, though why he should think this is a mystery, and he constantly seeks reassurance from whosoever might be nearby with his tricks.
When someone responds to him badly, this blue becomes a different creature entirely, rather than trying to disprove the negative reaction with his usual clowning around he goes out of his way to torment that person with the vision of what he thinks he is. He’ll be waiting in the shadows with a variety of nasty pranks on his mind. His favourite will always be to drop down or suddenly fly up in front of someone and startle them but he’ll be likely to develop a whole bundle of nasty tricks and use whatever will upset his target most. Happily he doesn’t have as long an attention span for vengeance as he does for amusement and he’ll quickly grow bored of evil, though it might not be soon enough for his victims.
Only with his bonded does he feel he can be truly free, with others he likes he will always hold back what he considers to be the worst aspects of his nature, and his enemies are likely to see only those aspects. His bonded will see every facet of his nature, and whether they love every part of his personality or not they’ll soon find that he adores all that his bonded is and could be, whatever that may be.

Puppy Brown
Name: Noish
Color: Brown #8C682F#2D1E05#E7C691
Age: Adult
Impressed to: Annatolli
Appearance: He's not sleek and slim, nor is he lean and mean, he's more average. His length and height are a-typical for his species which means his legs, tail and neck are a perfect balance of power and aerodynamics. But the Puppy Brown has a pot belly! Its not a consequence from over eating and a diet won't trim him down, its just the way he's built. So instead of looking attractive and well built, the Brown has an overpoweringly adorable charm. His wings are slightly longer and a bit more broad so that they can lift his extra weight without much trouble at all. And he likes to spread them open and tilt them forward slightly while playing, making it appear like he has some sort of bandana around his neck.
The Puppy Brown would have been a creamy mocha color, if not for the hundreds of small, coffee colored stripes that cover his entire body, with the exception of his wings, which sport the original mocha color. Brown that resembles a color close to black can be found surrounding his nostrils in a oblong circle, mimicking the image of a canine's nose. While on his feet (up to his ankles), the tips of his tails, and the very tips of his head knobs, can be found a sandy brown much the opposite in color than most of his other markings. This sandy color can also be found in a broken, thin semi-circle around the black of his nose.
Personality: The Puppy Brown is the very reincarnation of, well, a puppy. Or at least he can seem like it at times. He's very excitable and, you can probably guess it, loves playtime. In fact, almost every moment of the day is play time, while he will always prefer to play tug of war with his Mine, the Brown will actively search out someone else willing to play with him if His is too busy. Whether it be someone passing by in the hall, a friend of His that he loves, or a child (or five) down in the creche. Because face it, who doesn't down deep in their heart, love to play? Speaking of love, the Puppy Brown loves all and loves freely as long as he isn't frightened by someone or his naive innocence isn't abused. But the person he loves above all else, is his Mine. Like a young child or puppy, the Brown will and has placed all of his trust in his Human, which means he is completely dependant and reliant on His. All of his loyalty is there too. He gets fed, and brought water, and played with, and loved! He would never ask for more than that.
If His has enough patience and can realized that behind his overly playful, seemingly one track mind exterior, they will find that he has an almost eager will to learn new things. Tricks and commands will be soaked up like a sponge, though retraining will be needed every few weeks since his small little brain can only hold so much information. He loves showing off all his tricks to anyone willing to watch, they are special after all, His was the one who thought of them. Anger or despise seem to be foreign to the Puppy Brown, and aggression is all but non existent except in play form. He will of course, come to His's rescue if he feels like his Human is in danger, but he'll run on instinct then rather than experience. He lives and loves and forgets (or more often than not, doesn't understand) slights. Wouldn't the world be just so much more fun if everyone just joined him in a big old game of tag? That would definitely be the life!
