[Prepare for a craptastic post ><]
Stop it, Ciara-Mine. Toryth grumbled as she directed her gaze to the young woman pacing beneath one of the nearby trees. Ciara didn't heed her dragon as she continued to pace back and forth. You're making me dizzy, and you'll kill the grass if you don't stop. In response to Toryth's small joke, the Greenrider paused to glance at the flattened grass before turning her troubled gaze to her life-mate. Yesterday, Ciara had noticed a glow about her green that hadn't been there a few days before. The prospect of another Flight horrified the young woman especialy when her stupid salamandyr seemed to prefer mating with Wraith, Greenweyrling J'on's green 'mandyr, instead of choosing a different companion. He never hurts you, Mine. Toryth commented gently. And no one will ever harm you, Mine. I won't let them. The green crooned lovingly, but the comfort she gave to Ciara was short lived as two furious greens appeared and proceeded to hiss and snarl at each other.
...Hnbakbhbeaiu bad mkanjdlejoaoaofofofof BADBADBAD! hlajneunoindanklj... The smaller of the pair chittered angrily as Ciara groaned loudly. Just what I need! Two stupid and useless pets to bother me! "Eryn! Chatti! Stop it!" The Greenrider snarled at the fighting creatures. Chatti was instantly contrite whereas Eryn hissed with annoyance before perching atop Toryth's back. After glaring at Eryn for a moment, Ciara plopped down beside a nearby tree. Her eyes closed for a moment before she glanced over at her green. I'm scared, Toryth. I can't forget Him no matter how hard I try. Everytime I fail, I see A'en, Paryal, T'ren, and the others. Ciara buried her face in her arms as she felt Toryth nuzzle her. It is alright, Mine. No one will harm you, but who are A'en, Paryal and T'ren? Their names are familiar, but that is all I remember. The innocence and curiosity in Toryth's voice made Ciara smile, but her expression quickly became sober again. "They Impressed some of your brothers and sisters, Tory, but Benden killed them because they had done something to Fath's clutch." Ciara glanced at her surroundings for a moment before continuing. "This is where dragons are lucky, Toryth Dear. They can't remember such things whereas their riders must go on with life remembering the horrors of the past." Do not worry, Mine. Like I said, no one will ever hurt you. If they do, Chatti will make sure they don't escape unscathed. Toryth replied brightly as she nosed the 'mandyr perched on her life-mate's shoulder.

Walking along the shore of the river rather boredly, Cloar kicked at a stone, sending it flying into the flowing waters. He was rather bored today, with nothing at all to do. He was quite used to having something to do ... usually something strenuous, at that. And Cloar was just feeling very ... restless. Finding something to do was harder than he might have thought, all things considered. Unless, that was, one wanted to do something nasty like shovel a myriad of flavors of manure.
Noooooo, thank you! A toxic job like that he wasn't going to willingly volonteer for.
He saw another likely stone up ahead, and when he reached it, he gave it a harder kick than the last one, expecting to make it fly farther than the last one had. But ... it didn't even budge. The pain from the blow exploded in his foot, and he stumbled two or three steps, biting back a string of cusses.
Teach him to kick at rocks!! Ow, but that hurt. He limped for another score of steps, before finally resuming a more or less normal stride despite the pain. Getting tired of watching his toes as he walked, Cloar looked up and around, wondering just how far along the river he'd wandered ... were there any signs of habitation any where near him at all?
He spotted where the green dragon, her rider, and the two smaller creatures were, and stopped in his tracks. Someone else was out here, too? He couldn't be too far from the weyr, then. But then ... dragons could travel pretty far pretty quick.
Cloar wandered on up the river, steadily drawing nearer the cluster. He really wasn't interested in talking to them, but curiousity got the best of him. Stopping once he was pretty nearby, he said aloud: "Ahoy!"

It was Toryth who first noticed the approaching candidate. She had raised her head to look around and had caught sight of a boy limping, but he quickly began walking normally. Well, normal for a dragon’s opinion. Mine, someone approaches. The Green replied quietly as she watched the boy come closer. Ciara raised her head quickly as she heard her dragon speak, and her eyes readily caught sight of the “someone” Tory was talking about. It was only a boy, and judging by what she could make of his knots, he was a candidate. Only one thing really bothered Ciara and it was the fact that the approaching candidate was male and probably near her height. Stop being silly, Mine. He is a candidate, and I am here. If he hurt you, I would stop him and he would be stripped of candidacy. Toryth chided her rider as she continued to watch the boy. Both rider and dragon acknowledged him when he spoke, Toryth with a nod and Ciara with a wave of her hand. “Hello, there.” Hello, Small One. Toryth greeted the boy brightly as she moved forward to sniff him. Always curious, Chatti zoomed after Toryth, but instead the Green ran up the boy’s side to cling to her chest. She stared up at him curiously before happily broadcasting her thoughts. …Hakbhdauebakaka boyboyboy juajahuajauajauajaua kenoaneuaoundgakjenahaljen BOYBOYBOY! Jkajenahgdjaoepenajka… Ciara blushed furiously as she heard her salamandyr speak, but instead of sitting there waiting, the Greenrider forced herself to approach the boy. “Hi. I’m Greenrider Ciara. This is Toryth and the one on your shirt is Chatti.” Good, Mine. Quiet, Tory.

Cloar paused, entirely still with the shock of a dragon's voice in his head. It was not at all what he had been expecting to hear. And then the girl said something, too, but he completely missed it when a thing crawled up his side and stuck itself to his chest before spewing more gibberish into his mind.
He just stood there and stared at the 'mandyr for a moment, blacnk-faced, before blinking and looking up at Ciara. "Uh ... yeah. Okay. Hi. Um..." he pointed at the 'mandyr with one cautious finger, quirking an eyebrow up. He hoped she'd remove the creature from him ... he didn't want to get bitten in trying. It seemed friendly enough, but ... one never knew with people's pets.
"Er ... I'm Cloar." he managed, still rather distracted.
