Egg Stall and then Animal Stall
Don't spend all your marks on silly things. Triniath warned quietly as he landed a fair distance away from the Caravan to let Sk'ler dismount. Don't worry. I don't plan too. As if... Triniath was determined to force him to Hatchings to acquire more pets, so Sk'ler would do the only thing he could to remedy that. Buy a few eggs and a pair of pups like he had been wanting to do get for a while. See you later, Trin. Alright, Mine. The Brown launched himself into the sky and flew back to his ledge. He watched until the Brown had disappeared before turning and briskly walking towards the Caravan that had arrived. Before Sk'ler managed to get there, he was intercepted by Ciara.
The Greenrider was wearing a sash-like object across her chest and the way she cradled it in her arms, the man suspected it was her daughter, Caevaniara. "Hey there, Ciara. How are you doing?" He smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Being the only male of any rank that the woman trusted reassured Sk'ler that he wouldn't regret even saying hi to her.
"I'm doing well besides the constant attending Caevie requires. Oh, and I got this for you." She held out a small pouch, and when Sk'ler grasped it, he could feel warm sand through the cloth. "It's a small fire-lizard egg." He smiled and nodded happily. "Thanks. I'll make sure to take care of the occupant when it Hatches." Ciara snorted and reached out to pet Joolree. "You better, or I'll set Chatti on you." The salamandyr chirped a solid agreement from her place on Ciara's belt.
Sk'ler rolled his eyes and beckoned Ciara to accompany him to the Caravan's little market. They browsed, pausing here and there to examine what was available until they arrived at the Egg Stall. While Sk'ler stepped forward to examine what was available, Ciara moved away to look at a nearby stall. "Excuse me, but how much to the unmarked eggs cost?" Sk'ler gestured in the direction of the mix-matched eggs and reached to his belt to grasp his marks pouch.

The youg man behind the counter glanced up breifly as the brownrider approached, but quickly returned his attention to re-stacking flitter eggs.
"Five marks. Interested?"
It would seem that someone had thought it terribly clever to stack all of the flitter eggs into an unsteady pyramid, and so it was all the stall-worker could do to keep them from crashing to the ground as he worked to fit them into a mroe sensible order.

He eyed the stack of eggs the man was fiddling with cautiously and dug into his bag of marks. "Yes, sir. I would like two mystery eggs please." He reached into his marks pouch and pulled out the required amount and set it between himself and the man in charge. What are you doing, Mine? Nothing, Triniath. The Brownrider provided a picture of himself browsing the stalls, and he heard the Brown rumble acceptably. Too bad Triniath was half-awake or he would have noticed that it was a little hard to discern details.

The young man nodded, carefully wrapping his arms about the unstable pyramid to keep it upright as he nodded toward the basket of eggs labeled with a large question mark.
“Sure thing sir. Two eggs then, any ye like.”

[Eggs Can Hatch Anytime. Sk'ler's looking at puppies now. ]
Sk'ler continued to eye the wobbly pyramid cautiously and turned to examine the eggs marked as a mystery. He selected a average sized shell and then one of the smaller eggs. Variety was nice, and if one happened to not be a preferred pet, well, he could give it to a Weyrbrat. "Thank you, Sir." He placed the two eggs in another pouch and walked over to where Ciara was petting a few eager pups. "Aren't they cute?" "Yes, and I wonder how much they cost." The Greenrider chuckled and glanced up at her friend. "You're buying two more pets? Why?" "Trin." Sk'ler sighed and leaned down scratch the ears of one of the smaller canines.

The canine under Sk'ler's hand wagged his tail happily at the attention and licked playfully at the rider's hand. He was a handsome little fellow, who's short brown fur ended in black tips. Several of his shyer siblings also approached to investigate the visitors, two of which delighted themselves with Ciara.
A large black female watched from a short distance away, clearly assessing whether these humans were worthy of her notice. Unlike the other pups, who were about two months old, she was nearly four mouths having been born of different parents. She was the last of her litter, remaining unchosen for her fierce and dominating attitude. She approached Sk'ler slowly, scaring the other puppies away, except for the brown male, who just barked a welcome to her. She ignored him and lowered her head to sniff the rider warily.
The boy in charge of watching the pups came over from around the fence. "You aught ta watch 'er," he warned, eying the female with apprehension. "She don't usually take ta strangers." He crossed to the inside of the fence, ready to pull the female away if she attacked. Silently he hoped she would take to someone at last.

"Hey there, lil' guy." Sk'ler smiled and scratched a little harder behind the pup's ears. The male whined happily and the brownrider snorted with laughter. "What about him, Ciara?" He dipped his head in the male's direction and his friend nodded. "I like him too." Then when the female approached, Ciara eyed her cautiously as the rest of the pups, except the male next to Sk'ler, retreated at her approach. "Well hello to you to, little lady." Sk'ler spoke warmly to the black female and offered her his hand. While she sniffed it, the rider took the chance to examine her. Despite her long fur, he could tell she was a well-bred canine, and if bred with the male playfully nudging Sk'ler's other hand, he would have some nice quality pups on his hands. Then the female boldly pushed her head against the hand Sk'ler and offered and he smiled. "I'll take her, sir. Six marks a pup, right?" He reached into his marks pouch and pulled out the necessary amount, and then, after attaching to decently sized rope leashes around the canines' necks, Sk'ler lifted them out of the pen. "Nice doing business with you, sir. Good day." And with that, Sk'ler and Ciara walked back to where their dragons where waiting to take them home. I thought I told you not to get stupid things....
