Farryl poked her head in the doorway, just in time to hear the end of Raylin's rant. It seem that a small party had gathered around Saeo. A tense and gloomy party at that. That would never do! Farryl was never one to dwell in the past. What happened, happened. They would all just have to live with it and learn from it. In the meantime, Farryl hoped she could at least lighten the mood a bit.
"Aren't we all cheerful today," she smiled brightly at the joke. "I hope I'm not interrupting." Farryl flopped down on the cot next to Raylin. It was getting crowded. "Is anyone hungry? There'll be pie later if Cherilith has enough apples yet." Hobbs crooned a warm welcome to everyone from her shoulder. He liked people, especially if they were nice to him. Tille spun around the room once, then got bored and blinked off to find Peppeth.
Peppeth trotted outside to find her siblings. Cherilith! she called sweetly. Spotting the blue along with Frosstyth, the tiny green bounded over happily. There you are! And Frosstyth too! Peppeth danced circles around her clutch brothers, sniffing at what they had collected so far. Do you have enough apples for pie? Farryl-mine said she would make pie if you did! Is pie tasty? Do you think I can have some too? Peppeth's stream of questions ended with her suddenly noticing Frosstyth's discomfort. She cocked her head curiously. What is wrong, Frosstyth? Do you not like pie? I will eat your share!

((A monstrous post to make up for the long wait. XD))
That was strange...shouldn't he be getting angry with her right about now? Saeo was hesitant to consider it a possibility, but...maybe she had felt something just then. She had no idea what it was, but it certainly wasn't the sort of confused indignant response she had been expecting. But then, not knowing weather to take the situation as intriguing or unsettling, the bluerider decided to do what she was best and pretend it wasn't there.
"One mushroom won't hurt a great brute like Frosstyth." She sighed dismissively, gathering up her supplies into a bundle and carrying them to the counter along with the metal bowl of redwort solution. "I don't need to be a dragonhealer to tell you that. Most mushrooms won't even kill a fully grown human." She emptied the faintly blood-stained liquid into the sink, trying not to breath the astringent scent too deeply.
And then a storm blew in.
Saeo's eyes widened sharply as she was suddenly struck by a verbal assault of epic proportions. She supposed that she should have been expecting it -she did know Raylin better than she knew any other girl her own age after all- and it wasn't as if she had never seen Raylin's temper in action before. She just wasn't usually the object of her uncensored rage -that was usually an honour reserved for Ke'rin.
"Dear Faranth Raylin, am I expected to have even understood any of that?" The girl arced an eyebrow in a gesture that was both questioning and condescending at the same time. "Well in response...I offer the Weyr no apologies. I would like to extend to you and the others who took care of my dragon while I was temporarily out of my mind, my most sincere gratitude, and a reminder that not a single one of you cared to mention that running salamandyrs take their owners along for the ride. Thank you for leaving me to discover that on my own. Truly, it was a most delightful surprise." She paused for a moment, making sure that the sarcasm sunk in. "You're being a compulsive worrier, as always. It isn't my fault that they have me on the night shift, and I can assure you, there will never be another salamandyr in my life. Nobody impresses two salamandyrs. Are we finished now?"
Indeed they were, for Farryl chose that precise moment to bring the morning sunlight back into the infirmary. "Good morning Farryl." Saeo smiled tiredly, running the pad of her ring finger beneath her eye in an attempt to clean up the raccoon-like smudge she just /knew/ was there. "Have Peppeth and Ebolath joined the apple hunt now? Well, that's the end of that excursion. There's just no way they'll be able to stay on task now." She returned her attention to the supplies strewn out on the counter behind her, and returned them to their proper places in the medicine cabinet. That done, she leaned against the counter and regarded a bed that was now filled quite to the proverbial brim with friends. Now that was a sight for sore eyes. "Now, who's up for baking? Just because the dragons' gathering skills are somewhat lacking doesn't mean we should go without."
Cherilith welcomed Peppeth with a musical marble that was only somewhat muffled by the basket he grasped in his tapered jaws. Hello Peppeth! We have one apple so far, so that means we only need nine more before we can make pie! I am quite sure that we will be able to have some of it when it is finished. Why maybe if we get eleven or twelve apple we will be able to make a pie large enough to share with everyone... He suddenly noticed a concerned gleam in the little green's eyes, and turned his attention toward Frosstyth. Frosstyth? Are you quite alright? He inquired, expressive features shifting in noticeable puzzlement. They switched quickly to excitement however, as he noticed something laying in the grass near the brown's feet. Oh look Frosstyth! You have found another apple! That means we have two! The little blue crooned happily, nudging the fruit with the tip of his nose and waiting for someone to put it in his basket. He supposed that he could put his basket down, then pick up the apple, then put it in, then pick the basket up again...but that would hardly be teamwork, would it?

Iiiiiii ... Have never had pie. I think. Frosstyth replied, suddenly finding himself swarming with greens. Oh! Oh ... OH! He blinked. He wasn't dead. His was silly. An apple? I did? Oh! Why, yes, of course! I know I did. See? Good. Frosstyth bent his head down, and sniffed the apple. He poked it with his snout, and then picked it up with two very carefully operated talons. Lifting the tiny thing up, he gave it a doubtful look before dropping it into the basket. With two added indentations for adornment, where his talon points had been.
There! The second apple! Where do you suppose apples come from? Do they pop out of the ground? He asked, bemused. Finding them seemed to be a terribly random affair, and maybe if they knew where they were coming from, they could go to the source and get all the apples they wanted!
C'oar sat in silence, as he watched everyone else suddenly appear as if from no where. Were they sneaking up on the infirmary, or something? Itching at his new bandage, C'oar wondered how many other conceivable things he could run across that would bite him next. He was not looking forward to having a dragon bite him! "Hello, Raylin, Farryl." He mentioned, quietly.
"To be honest, Saeo? I don't think any of us knew that gem of information, until this recent debacle." He mentioned, hoping to calm her return rage at her friends. She couldn't blame them for what they didn't know.
