The first thing Saeo took note of upon waking was a strange, medicinal smell that seemed to have permiated her bedroom. The second was Cherilith.
Mine! Oh my beautiful you are awake! I am so happy that you are awake! I was so worried that the little cousins were going to hurt you -Cherilith I- be okay and Checkoth's R'wign and C'oar took care of you -Cherilith what are you- must tell Ebolath and Raylin and Frosstyth and Peppeth right away! When they found out that you and Kaaoloth's S'eln were -wait, what about S'eln? What was- slept in Peppeth's room together because I was too frightened to sleep without you! Oh my beautiful Saeo, I have missed you so much! Darling, I haven't gone anywhere. Oh but you did! You became very fuzzy and started speaking like-
Saeo's eyes snapped open as she suddenly realized that there was something pinning her in bed.
"What the bloody dagger is going on here!?"
She demanded of the infirmary ceiling, coughing as she realized how dry and sore her throat was. Why was their blood in her mouth? And more importantly, why was she tied to a bed? Being tied down wan't nearly as upsetting as say, being locked in a closet, but claustrophobia was unpleasant in any dilution. Oh, My Saeo you must calm down! Cherilith told her anxiously, sending her his reassurances as her blood pressure spiked. If they untie you then you will run away and frighten me again! Again? When did I frighten you the firstSHARDS!
"If this is not someone's attempt at seducing me into a post-run romp, you'll be disapointed to find that I am neither stimulated nor impressed!"
Saeo growled, wriggling furiously against her bonds in an attempt to draw someone's attention.
"Rape! Murder! Salamandyrs! Let me GO!"

All the racket that Saeo was making upon discovering she was quite thoroughly lashed down drew C'oar out of his own stupor. Why in the world R'wign had insisted on spiking his drink, C'oar would never know. He didn't see the point. Or the issue. And he definitely didn't like sleeping in the infirmary. It was starting to become a habit: one he most assuredly did not like.
It meant bad things had happened.
And in twitching in his half-concious state, he managed to aggrevate the bandaged wounds on the tender inside of his arm. That brought him the rest of the way awake. He groaned, and levered himself upright on his good arm, and glared across the way at Saeo.
"Shut up." He growled, a little ticked at her for the moment. His arm hurt. And she was the one that had done it to him. "You're not impressing anyone with that rant of yours. You're tied down because it was the only way to stop you." Levering himself to the edge of his sleeping spot, he dropped his booted feet to the floor. C'oar shook his head, and rubbed the heel of one hand in his eye. Shards, he hated getting drugged.
Bouncing on a shelf out of the way, Storm peeped a welcome to both of them. They were finally awake! Yay! The bronze flitted down, and swept up to land next to C'oar. He nuzzled his bandages, and then flitted back across to land on Saeo's chest and peer down at her lips. Chirp?

Scolding sounded from behind C’oar, and the source of the scolding quickly became clear: a vibrant green fire lizard with rapidly whirling eyes. From her size it was obvious she was far from a hatchling, even quite large for her color, and she wore healer knots around her neck as if she was one. Anyone who spent much time in the infirmary likely knew the fire lizard’s identity: this was Roxie, R’wign’s oldest fire lizard and arguably one of the most ornery greens in the Weyr. She gave Saeo a poisonous look before spitting at her, then flew over to land on the back of the bed. Her wings ruffled and she indignantly puffed up, her gaze lingering on the girl critically. It was as though the fire lizard was daring her to continue making such unpleasant racket. Storm was all but ignored. Like she cared about a bronze. She had a gold at her beck and call! Or so she believed.
Actually, Ellie was simply too even-tempered to care much what Roxie thought. The little queen perched daintily on R’wign’s shoulder as the healer, distracted from his project of bandaging a patient’s hand, quickly stood up. He gestured for the apprentice to finish his work and stalked over to where he’d left C’oar and Saeo, both completely unconscious, the former not entirely by his choice. He’d insisted on the other brown rider sleeping; staying up would just have him fussing in worry over his blue rider, and R’wign didn’t feel like watching him pine. That and the body healed better when unconscious, and the biting injuries were somewhat worrisome. Girl had a pair of teeth. R’wign was convinced she was part-canine or something.
Near the end of the bed, R’wign stopped, one hand coming up to rub Ellie’s body affectionately. His other three fire lizards flew around him, and Hazard lighted down to land at the very end of Saeo’s bed. Stumpy on the other hand landed right next to Roxie, and Collision curled up on a high shelf to sleep.
“Yes, blue rider! Rape! We couldn’t resist! Forgive us. C’oar and I are brutes. We were presented with a woman babbling nonsense and we just couldn’t help ourselves. And even though you were writhing, squirming, trying your best to get him to take you, we restrained you anyway because oh, by Faranth, leather restraints are so sexy.” Yes, he was being painfully sarcastic. Rolling his eyes, he gestured to C’oar. “She’s lucid again, you can unstrap her, if you think her big-mouthed self deserves it. Girl, you were mad with lust. You have no idea the trouble you and that hideous little monster of yours caused, do you? Let me enlighten you: Outside, near Checkoth and Phremath, we have a pair of unconscious healers. Jermayan will probably thank you for the sunburn on a very sensitive part of the male anatomy. On the other side of the door we had Salenth for quite awhile, doing his best to keep others from entering, and I am fairly sure E’rro passed out out there as well. S’rei may or may not have injured his shoulder in the process. Your blue was hysterical and pretty much panicked the entire Weyr, I spent a candle mark explaining sex to my brown which I do not thank you for, and C’oar’s got magnificent bite marks on his arm. Shall I continue or do you want to continue screaming at the top of your lungs and making even more of a scene?”
No one ever said R’wign was nice. While he was usually very friendly, when the infirmary was called into question, he got prickly fast. Having the words ‘rape’ and ‘murder’ thrown around made him want to slap her. He didn’t strike women physically. He’d have to settle for venting his frustrations with words. She’d created more than a little bit of a scene. Not that C’oar was much better. R’wign was nice enough not to point out that he’d made it all worse by removing the girl. Protecting Cherilith was probably his goal, but it had dragged half the Weyr into the Run by proxy, which was not a good thing. There were other ways to protect a dragon from the effects of flights. He’d seen it done before.
“K’lir asked me to tell you that you’re a remarkable disgrace to salamandyr owners, by the way, and Calistoth has offered to eat Freckle if you like. C’oar, your bandage will need changing shortly.”

The girl was slightly surprised to have someone answer her so quickly. She had been planning on screaming 'fire' next if someone decided to overlook the first three. "Oh, pardon me." She huffed sarcastically, failing in an attempt to glare at C'oar as he approached. "Do I look like I'm trying to be impressive? I was actually going for 'confused and terrified." And then there was a fire lizard on her chest -not that her neck bent far enough for her to seem him properly, but the chirp was easy to recognize. A green came next, which was somewhat odd, but then she felt at least two more land on the foot of her bed. Saeo found herself wondering if perhaps she was asleep after all, and then recalled a perfectly logical reason why so many fire lizards would be gathered in one place -and then a voice full of contrived cheerfulness proved her hypothesis.
R'wign's explanation of the trouble she and Freckle has caused was supplemented at regular intervals by the details Cherilith had gathered. She wasn't entirely sure how she was responsible for sunburns and bruised shoulders, nor did she have any more than a vague idea as to why she was in the infirmary. She did however, offer Cherilith the most sincere of apologies for having frightened him. How on Pern had any of this even happened!? Why had nobody bothered to tell her that salamandyr runs were so emotionally intense...and more importantly, why hadn't K'lir kicked her out of the sharding hatching in the first place!? Eventually Saeo gave up on trying to appear attentive, and allowed her head to plop limply into her pillow where she could die of embarrassment in peace.
Cherilith darling, please do me a favour. Yes mine? Inform Calistoth that she's free to eat Freckle so long as she's discreet about it...and if she doesn't mind passing the message along, could you also inform K'lir that he can bite his own tongue off, and that it's rather difficult to disgrace a species that steals undergarments and considers the word 'dunghead' the most vicious insult in the known world? Also send him my love please.
"Alright, alright." The girl sighed, attempting to shift into a more comfortable position "I'm an idiot. The next time my salamandyr runs, I will refrain from darting about the Weyr causing trouble, because as you both know the decision was entirely mine. Has someone been feeding my chicken?" Raylin helped me do it this morning Mine. [/i] "Never mind. Can I please sit up now? It's a little bit difficult to carry on a serious conversation when I've got Storm in my face."
She blew on the flitter, hoping that he would take the hint.

Storm squinted his eyes shut in the sudden breeze, but otherwise remained where he was. Chirp! When the blowing stopped, be bounced on all four feet and chirped again. Again! Again! He stuck his head in front of her face again, expectantly.
"Storm, cut it out." C'oar ordered, still seated where he had been. He was by no means going to approach Saeo any time soon. If R'wign deemed it safe enough to untie her, he was more than willing to let the healer do so. That was his job, after all. After all ... patients didn't go around freeing other patients, now did they?
Storm looked at him for a moment. And then at Saeo. And then at C'oar. Heaving a sigh, the bronze flitter turned around, and kick-launched back into the air and sail back over to where C'oar was seated. Landing, he curled his tail around his haunches as he sat down next to his pet.
"Feeding your chicken?" C'oar demanded. After all that had happened, and she was worried about her mangy bird?! He shook his head, and for a moment thought about wishing someone had eaten the bird. Yes ... he was not happy. He was borderline angry with her. It probably wouldn't last long, but for the moment he was in pain, and she had done it to him.
Wait ... change his bandage? Oh, shells. That was not going to be fun. C'oar shot R'wign a look, hoping that the healer was not planning on drugging him again afterward. "I'm not taking any more drinks from you." He said, placidly, point of fact. He really was getting tired of being in a drugged stupor. He understood that bandages needed changing, he'd had all too many of them himself, since coming to the Weyr. And he was beginning to suspect that Healers were healers because they got unholy glee out of ripping old bandages off of people.

“You could have stopped it,” R’wign countered absently. Since C’oar made no effort to unstrap the girl, he decided that probably meant the other brown rider was still uncomfortable with her… a feeling which R’wign honestly could not hold against him if true. No one liked being bitten, let alone clawed and squawked at as though by an animal. He cast a half-glance toward the other weyrlingrider then stepped to the end of the cot to unfasten the strap around Saeo’s right wrist with practiced ease. “Did you know Showoff and Calistoth are about a sevenday apart in age? I’ve seen people remain lucid through salamandyr Runs. K’lir almost always is. During Dael’s first Run, he and I had a perfectly sensible conversation.” Until Showoff caught her, that was. Then K’lir had run off and R’wign was grateful, but that was a long story, not one he felt like sharing. “You should try talking to him and Uu’n about how they manage it; I’m fairly sure they both keep some of their wits about them.” He circled the bed as he spoke and unfastened Saeo’s second wrist, before stepping back and away from her. “I’m really only agitated because you were screaming ‘Rape’ and ‘Murder’ though. You probably should have tried ‘Fire’ -- I would have responded more quickly. Your over dramatic behavior isn’t welcome, though. Roxie is the only drama queen welcome in the Infirmary today.”
At the mention of her name, the green fire lizard twittered approvingly, her wings ruffling. She preened, showing off her pretty hide, and then turned to snipe a high-pitched scolding squawk at Saeo. She didn’t like that one, no no. The wingless deformed ones were ugly, yes, but that one was exceptionally so and it was a green -- it had stolen her brown! She barely shared her brown with the shiny, why would she with a wingless ugly? Roxie twittered again, shifting her weight, and hissed. Wingless flitter needed to leave her spot, or she was going to be very angry.
Ignoring his fire lizard’s antics, R’wign ambled back to the end of the cot and picked his nails. “You needed to sleep. Staying awake stressing yourself out would have done nothing. Would you have listened if I sent you home? I don’t think so. But you needed rest. You’re a dragon rider now, a fact which you seem happy to remember and forget as it suits you. If you make yourself sick with worry and lack of sleep, it will affect your dragon, and I don’t know if you’ve met her, but our dear Dragon healer - yes, the one naked outside, heh heh - takes neglect of dragons, even accidental, very seriously. I think she’d drag you around by your balls until you screamed for mercy, and even then it’s only a fifty-fifty shot she’d grant it. She’s going to be upset enough with you when she finds out you’re the one who moved Saeo from where she was, no matter what your motives, because it put the Infirmary in jeopardy. Even if this is the best place for her to have been brought.” He shrugged. Whether it was true or not, R’wign knew Kali. She’d be mad her infirmary was put at risk. He was mad about it. R’wign just expressed anger more constructively than most people did. Sarcasm was about as bad as he got under normal circumstances.
“I’ll give you two a few minutes to, ah… catch up, shall I?” He cast a glance toward C’oar that was nothing short of playful. He was thoroughly convinced the two of them were dating, and no part of him liked being a third wheel. “When you’re ready, I’ll change that bandage on your arm, but I think I just saw movement from outside and I don’t get many chances to needle Kalierre… plus I have to tell Jermayan what a gloriously white backside he has. If you’ll please excuse me.” Waving, R’wign cheerfully bounced away from the pair toward the dragon entrance of the Infirmary. Stumpy and Roxie took to wing, flying after him, while Hazard flew off to perch next to sleeping Collision… and Ellie never left her bonded’s side. Neither R’wign nor his fire lizard fair paid any attention to the two any longer. They were all thoroughly distracted elsewhere.

Once her arms were free, Saeo made short work of the remaining two straps threaded overtop of her thighs and chest and levered herself into a seated position. She really would have loved to come up with some sort of spiteful thing to say about R'wign not knowing anything at all about salamandyr runs and how he shouldn't be judging her on something he knew nothing about, but pride and a desire to maintain her apprenticeship stopped her. If K'lir could manage to keep his senses during a salamandr run, then she had no excuse for becoming so completely lost in the experiance. Realizing how incompetent she was stung rather accutely, and she would have liked to have snuggled under her blankets and had a good cry about the unfairness of it all had her stiff muscles not protested the very thought. Instead, she shoved it all to the back of her mind using what remained of the rage Freckle had implanted in her subconsious. She would just have to get better was all.
"Alright, next time I find myself strapped to a bed I'll scream about natural disasters and hope you come running." The girl commented dryly, rubbing at the pressure marks on her wrists. She made no move to stop the healer from leaving, hoping instead that Kalierre would use up whatever rage she had on him and forget to scold her for...well, she wasn't entirely sure what...but everyone seemed to be scorlding her today and considering that she was one of the infirmary's higher-ups, Saeo was certain that she would have some scathing remark to offer the next time they met. She listened for the sound of the door closing on his way out.
"So I take it this is your blood I'm tasting?" She asked, not looking up from her examination of the slowly fading red bands on her wrists. "I don't intend to bite you again any time soon, so you can stop looking at me like that." She flicked her eyes up at him deftly for emphasis. Saeo rose slowly, testing to make sure she hadn't done herself an injury any more serious than the scrapes and bruises she had already taken note of, then smoothed her hair and walked toward one of the nearby medicine cabinets. "So what did happen exactly? Actually...it's probably better I don't know, isn't it? Why didn't I just buy a sharding flitter egg..." She placed a few items from the cabinet into a small metal bowl which she managed to snatch from a top shelf by standing on tip-toe.

C'oar watched as R'wign left, without a comment. He knew better than to comment on anything R'wign had to say... it seemed that everyone seemed to think he was a complete and total idiot, without a lick of brain in his head. It wasn't true ... C'oar was actually quite mindful of what he did. So what if he'd dragged Saeo to the infirmary? I had been the first door he'd seen, and nothing bad had come of it. It had actually turned out remarkably well. Cherilith was still okay. Which had been his whole objective. He considered his mission a remarkable success, even if no one did. And so what if everyone thought he was a nitwit? Someday, he'd probably be able to use that to his advantage. Even if it didn't earn him many friends in the mean time.
Being quiet didn't mean one was an idiot, but people seemed to think that.
"Things were rather eventful, yes. Between Cherilith screaming his head off cause he thought you were dying and your trying to kill Sel'n, who was also all for killing you ..." He shrugged slightly, itching at the edges of his bandaging. "Things didn't get much better after I dragged you here, kicking, screaming, and biting. It took three or four dragons to keep everyone out of here until it was all over. It's a good thing you're not very heavy, or I wouldn't have gotten you this far from the scene of the crime." His tone was completely level again, like it usually was. As the drugs cleared from his system, he was better able to cope with the world around him, and think rationally. Which meant his anger at her was being reined in and put back under control. Now that he was thinking again, he was well aware she hadn't been herself; and she was unlikely to go on a biting spree again. So the weyrling went back to being his placid, level self, at complete ease.
"And yeah, that's me." He remarked, with a wry twist to his mouth for a moment. "You seemed to like the flavor at the time." He jabbed, teasing her. "I am by no means offering another taste, mind you. What are you doing?" He asked, distracted by her rummaging in the cabinets.
Storm chirped, and sat a little taller, looking around with interest. And then he leapt into flight once more, to perch on a shelf and look down at everyone. The bronze was fairly familliar with the infirmary; between C'oar's stints in the place and this being where Zessa tended to hang out? Storm knew the place quite well. He split his time between following C'oar and hanging out with his Queen.
"How is Cherilith?" C'oar asked, eventually. He was pretty sure that the blue's sanity was still intact, but truely, only Saeo would or could know, without going and asking a Queen. "Frosstyth's been sitting with him pretty much since that mess started."

"When I said that it was probably better I didn't know, I meant it. Thank you for allowing another wave of nightmares to enter my dreams tonight." The girl sighed, using her forehead to nudge the cabinet shut now that her arms were full. She wobbled slightly as she made her way over to the bed C'oar was sitting on, a likely side-effect of being out cold for almost twenty four hours straight. She wasn't tired in the slightest, but their was a peculiar fuzziness coating her thoughts which she was not particularly fond of.
"I'm changing your bandage." She explained gracelessly, plopping herself and the supplies down onto the bed next to him. "This is my job now you know. R'wign isn't the only person in this infirmary who can change a dressing." She would have been tempted to add in something about having not only taken the apprenticeship so she could fawn over Jermayan, but that wound seemed a little too fresh for prodding. Manners had caught Freckle. That meant that was going to be a large number of very awkward moments coming to her in the near future, and the mere thought of that made her blush. Instead, she simply grabbed for the bandage in question and set about undoing the gauze holding it in place.
"Cherilith is doing alright. He's still pretty shaken up...but he's strong. I'm sure that he'll be himself again sometime soon." Tell him that I say hello. The blue requested, having never really left her thoughts since she woke up. "He says hello." And that Frosstyth says hello too. "And Frosstyth says hello." And that we are coming over for a visit, and that we are bringing the apples that we found. "They're coming for a visit, and they have apples or...something." Farryl told me that while you were sleeping, I should so something constructive to keep my mind off of it, so Frosstyth and I have been collecting apples. If we get ten of them, she said that she will help us make them into a pie! You like pie, right Mine? Pie is lovely, but you're all the sweetness I could ever want Cherilith. Thank you so much my darling.
"I do hope that feeding two dragons wasn't too difficult for you." Saeo commented, a light smile brushing across her face. "I know that sometimes wh-... oh wow. I really did a number on this arm of yours, didn't I? Sorry about that..." She frowned apologetically, and set about mixing up a redwort solution in the metal pan she had taken from the cabinet. "I can't help but wonder if I'm really worth this sort of trouble. You seem to spend an awful lot of time playing the hero, and if you don't stop soon you're going to end up as one big scar, like Pepsi.

C'oar fell silent at her rebuke, and merely watched as she carried items over to where he was seated. Storm chirped, and fluttered out of the way as his spot was suddenly being showered with things. Taking wing, the bronze perched on the head of the bed, and flared his wings. Settling down again, he furled them tightly and tilted his head, to watch.
C'oar winced as she peeled the bandage away. He looked at the uncovered section of his arm, and decided it didn't look any better than it had before, when R'wign had first bandaged it. But ... at least it wasn't looking worse. That meant, hopefully, that it was not infected. "I know you're an apprentice, now ... but are you sure you're up to returning to duty, so soon after waking up?" He asked, looking up at her.
And then he laughed softly. "Frosstyth usually says hello directly, you know. But I can't imagine them collecting apples ... or any of them surviving the trip anywhere, for that matter. How are they gathering and transporting them?" He couldn't help but grimmace at the idea of someone unwittingly eating fruit that had been rolling around inside a weyrling's mouth for a whole trip. That, and he was pretty sure that Frosstyth would have eaten many of them ... if not most. And maybe even discovered that they tasted better than dry leaves.
"I didn't feed either of them. Shortly after you passed out, R'wign put me under. I haven't been anywhere." C'oar admitted, watching her work. For a moment he was silent again, and then he looked up at her face again, a small half-smile twitching at his face.
"Of course you're worth it, Saeo. Besides ... you're a Healer now. You can patch me up afterward, no?" He joked, hoping to disguise the deeper meaning there. C'oar rather liked Saeo, though he'd never outright tell her as much. As much as he liked her, he was also a realist. He knew that her attentions were focused elsewhere, and wasn't going to start yanking at her chains. But he'd always be her friend, and he'd always look our for her, anywhere it was within his power to keep her safe. Or her dragon, for that matter. The blue was an extention of Saeo, after all. "Any rider is worth it." He added, as an afterthought.
Thus, he didn't look her in the eye again, and changed the subject. "I imagine Raylin would be delighted to know you're up and about again." C'oar mentioned. "If Cherilith hasn't told her already." If the blue had, there was no doubt thier friend would not be long in arriving.

Saeo introduced a soft cloth to the redwort solution, then set about using it to dab away dried blood and whatever dirt might have been missed the first time the wound was bandaged. She really couldn't get over how she had managed to brutalize him so throughly and yet remember none of it. The blueweyrling wasn't sure that she liked being so far out of her senses "I wasn't injured Cloar." She muttered sullenly, forgetting for a moment that he was a dragonrider as she dampened her cloth a second time. "I wasn't even drugged, so there's no reason why I shouldn't be up and about."
His next comment drew a thoughtful hum from her throat. Now that she thought about it...how were they managing to carry apples? We have a basket of course! She could almost hear Cherilith's warble of laughter as he flooded her mind with affection. We only have two right now...oh wait...only one actually...but that means we only need nine more. "Cherilith tells me they have one apple and a basket. Use your imagination." Satisfied that an infection wasn't going to develop any time soon, the girl twisted the cap off of a jar of numbweed and started smearing it onto the angry red puncture wounds with the pad of her middle finger.
Her pale eyes flicked upward suddenly as the brownweyrling mentioned that R'wign had put him into a drugged sleep. "What?" Her automatic assumption was of course, that he'd been injured more badly than she had thought. But if he'd been anesthetized for pain, then surely he wouldn't be feeling better so soon? "What happened? Is there something else I should be looking -let me know when that stops hurting- is there something else I should be looking at? Who's been feeding the dragons?" Raylin has been feeding me. Would you like me to ask Frosstyth who has been feeding him? No darling, that's alright. Oh! We found another apple Mine! Maybe we will have enough for your pie by the time we get there! Don't worry darling. If you find more that's lovely, but don't feel the need to spend a lot of time searching
"If it's all the same to you, I'd rather you just didn't get hurt in the first place." Saeo sighed, wiping the numbweed from her hands. It really was infuriating sometimes, this unshakable need to be rescued constantly and have the people she cared about get hurt in the process. Just once, she wanted to be the one who rushed in and saved the day. At the very least she wanted to be able to take care of herself. Playing the damsel in distress was getting really old...wait though. She'd forgotten something. "So technically...you caught me this time?" She commented in a thoughtful voice, methodically folding her damp cloth into a square. "I think I must owe you something for that, along with all the other times you've dragged me kicking and screaming out of harm's way. You haven't got a girl, have you?"

"I dunno about that, Saeo. You were sure acting high on something earlier on." C'oar teased, even though he knew it'd probably get him bitten again, poking that particular sore spot. She certainly hadn't been herself. But he couldn't really blame her. He'd already experienced Storm flying ... and winning. And if mandyrs were anything like he'd heard, what she'd experienced had been that, times ten.
A rather disconcerting thought, seeing everyone around him acting like that. What would happen when the dragons started rising? Would they lose all control and start trying to fly?? He hoped not. There were altogether too many places to leap off of and fall to one's death.
"One fruit." C'oar mused, keeping his mind off what she was doing to his arm. "They've got a long ways to go, then." He remarked, before nodding. "Get my arm much number, Saeo, and I won't be able to move it." C'oar warned, teasingly. It really was a releif, to know that she was back to being herself, and was no longer her 'mandyr.
"Nothing happened, really. Which was the point, I think. R'wign was of the opinion that I was going to sit here and stare and worry until you woke up. Where he got that idea, I don't know. I've never done it before, so, it couldn't be that. So he slipped something into my klah. Knocked me out like a deadglow. I never knew what hit me until it was too late. My arm is all that was affected, really, if you don't count the usual muscle strain of running half the length of the Weyr at full tilt, carrying someone else. I was certain that if they caught me, they'd kill me. You know? They weren't themselves, either, and they were more than just mad at me." He shrugged with just one shoulder... the one attached to his good arm. His wounded arm he left entirely immobile for her to work on, trying really hard to not pay any attention to it.
If he started looking, and discovered it didn't hurt anymore, he might try moving it, to see if he could see the muscles moving around inside. And that wouldn't be good at all. Not to mention it would probably make her squeal in protest. So he was good, and just didn't look.
"Oh, I'd rather not get hurt, too." C'oar agreed, heartily. "But sometimes it can't be avoided, apparently." And indeed, he was not a masochist. He liked keeping his hide intact. But he also seemed to have a sign branded on him somewhere that declared 'BITE ME'. Had to. Somewhere... likely somplace he couldn't see it, but everyone else could.
His forehead, maybe?
"I don't know what you mean by that remark." C'oar commented. "Of course I caught you. If I hadn't, you'd be dead right now. And so would Cherilith. Sel'n's no small fry, and he was just as mad as you were. Not to mention out of it. He eyed her warily as she continued to talk, though. "You don't owe me anything, Saeo. Not a thing. Honest. And no, I don't 'have a girl'. I'm a weyrling." He pointed out.
Shells. He hoped she wasn't going to try and play matchmaker with him as the object to pawn off. That could get really weird, and really awkward. He already knew about her efforts to play matchmaker for Raylin.

"Oh shut up." The blueweyrling sighed, dabbing off the excess numbweed with a dry corner of her cloth. "I know you're not stupid enough to be screwing anyone with an infant dragon attached to your mind. I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't stepping on anyone's toes before I did this."
And with that confusing statement still hovering in the air, she kissed him. It was a hard thing to see coming, especially from someone you were used to having slap you about. That said, it came with a practiced touch of someone who was used to stealing such desirables. She lay a gentle hand alongside his jaw so she wouldn't have to worry about him flinching and knocking a few of her teeth loose, then seized his bottom lip in a gentle kiss. The girl lingered their for only half a moment, and was away before the emotion or awkwardness -one of the two- could properly establish itself.
My Saeo! You said you would not bite him again! Cherilith scolded in his most indignant tone of mindvoice. I didn't bite him Cherilith. You feel...sort of fuzzy Mine. Maybe you should go back to bed? I'm fine Darling, don't worry. Have you found any more apples? No, not yet. We did find a mushroom, but I did not think that it would make a very nice pie.
Saeo re-focused her attention on applying a fresh bandage to C'oar's arm, taking care not to cut off circulation while still ensuring that the gauze wouldn't slip. "Cherilith's already told Ebolath and Peppeth that I'm awake. I'm pretty sure it's still early, so maybe we should meet them at the dining hall." Her tone was light and conversational, though it was obvious from the way she was keeping her head bowed that the girl was trying to keep her face hidden. She was still deciding weather to feel regretful or not.

Shut up. Okay. He could do that. Though ... that was starting to be a rather ... repetative order. Especially coming from her. But ... C'oar didn't have long to contemplate that train of thought before she seriously invaded his space and kissed him. He was certainly surprised ... to the point of no reaction at all for a breathless moment. And just before it was too late, he managed to get it back together and somewhat return the affection just before she pulled away.
And then he just looked at her in silence as she went back to what she was doing. He considered saying a few things. About how it was typical of her to not consider his toes ... but decided to sit on it. Her behavior had certainly surprised him, and he wasn't sure why she'd done it, but he certainly didnt' want to discourage it. Even of only by perception.
After a moment of rumination, he decided that it had to have been her way of saying thanks ... or something. Because it certainly wasn't in line with all the other things she'd ever said or done... especially not with the way she was always drooling over Jermayan's shadow and chasing after Farryl... She just terribly made no sense to him at all, most days.
"Okay." He replied, simply, before scratching at the edged of his new bandage.
Mine! We found something! I don't think it's an apple. Cherilith calls it a 'shroom. Says it won't make good pie... I wonder if it's good for a snack? Frosstyth announced. But before C'oar could get a thought in edgewise, Frosstyth continued. Hrm... kit's kinta mushy ... and tastless ... and ... mushy ... and ... hard to swallow ...
By this point C'oar had finally managed to get his thoughts rewired again. "SON'T!" He burst out, vocally, before realizing what he'd done. He grimmaced, and looked at Saeo apologetically. "Frosst just ate a mushroom." He explained. SPIT IT OUT. NOW. Those things are POISONOUS![/b] C'oar ordered, silently.
Oh ... I didn't know that ... I found another apple? I swallowed it already. Should I throw up?

“Saeo you’re a sharding idiot!” Vega breezed in as Raylin’s voice echoed from the doorway. The pale blue looped around and landed on a nearby shelf next to a couple of glass bottles. His eyes reflected his bonded’s worry, whirling in yellow orange tones. The green weyrling stood in the doorway hands on her hips and a scolding look on her face. “I told you mandyrs were nothing but trouble and now look half the weyr is in a fury cause of Freckle and that other green what’s her name. The creatures should be banned I tell you! Poor Cherilith was beside himself with worry. I was convinced he would run over Fross, Ebo, and I and get mauled by a bunch of mandyr crazed people. Honestly! Why do they allow weyrlings to even impress the creatures.”
Oh mine do not be so angry and they would not ban Stupid would they? The green weyrling gave an exasperated cry and turned towards the window. “I didn’t ask you Ebolath. Go find Cherilith he has food.” Food? Ok but you don’t have to bite my head off.
Raylin sighed and turned back to the twosome tapping her foot. “I have to worry about everyone these days. Especially you Saeo. I never get to see you anymore. Your gone all night and you sleep all day. If not for Cherilith and your chicken I would say you fell off the face of Pern. I know you want to be a healer and that’s fine. Just promise me. No more mandyrs?”
Raylin sank down to the cot beside C’oar and sighed deeply.
