(( If your charrie knows Saeo, they were invited. If they know someone who has an invite, they can tag along. XP ))
It seemed to Saeo that the rainy season had come early this turn. The weather outside was cold, spiteful winds driving marble-sized raindrops against he walls of the canyon in a powerful tattoo that challenged even the roar of the falls. Inside the young bluerider's wyer however, the violent thudding of rain on rock was muffled and rhythmic, and it's intensity lessened still further by the presence of a dozen sparkling glass containers filled with glows, bathing every flat surface in a soothing light. The smell of freshly baked pastries and warm klah permeated the room thanks to a display of treats she had pilfered from the kitchens earlier that evening.
Baby was was absolutely ecstatic. Parties -even if they were called 'small get togethers' by his brainless Mine- meant people, and people meant an audience. Oh and he was going to put on a grand show, he told himself as he scrabbled around pies and pastries in an attempt to find himself a suitable pedestal. Freckle, who was significantly less thrilled with the idea of humans invading her personal space, had concealed herself in a large bowl of glows that had been placed in the center of the room. Only her eyes and the tip of her electric green nose were visible as she glared red and orange spirals at Baby through the glass. Her most recent spat with Manners seemed to have put her in an even fouler mood than was typical of the bad-tempered green, and Saeo had found that no amount of reassurance could stop her from murmuring obscenities under her breath. The girl only considered herself lucky that Baby was serving as a distraction, and that she didn't have to worry about dodging Freckle's verbal attacks while she was getting ready.
“Alright darling, that should be it.” She sighed, sliding the last of her wayward books onto the shelf beside it's siblings. The blue dragon who lay curled on the opposite side of the weyr tilted his head at her, a smile creeping across his expressive features. Would you like me to call them now Mine? Cherilith asked eagerly, aquatic shades of blue washing across his eyes. The girl nodded, prompting a deep and resonating croon of pleasure from her dragon's chest. My friends, Saeomine would like me to tell you to tell Yours that she would like them to come over now. He broadcasted to the dragons he and His had previously invited to the turn-ending festivities. His tone was bright and eager, as the young blue had been looking forward to their party for quite some time now.
A small yawn crept between Saeo's lips, the fatigue inspired by her most recent infirmary shift catching up with her as the sunlight faded from behind the clouds. She adjusted the hem of her tunic, then moved across the room to do the same with Cherilith's bandanna -a thin navy blue tablecloth she had recently liberated from the mess hall. I thought you were worried that this one didn't match your stripes. She commented with a wry grin, tugging it into place and smoothing against his freshly oiled hide. It does not match my stripes. Cherilith replied simply. I am wearing it because it is the same colour as your shirt, and it makes us match.[/i] The girl pressed affectionately against her blue's mind and lay a gentle kiss on his neck. Thank you darling. Don't worry, you look wonderful.
AIE COULDA DAAAAAAAAAAAAANCED ALL NIGHT! Came the first of Baby's eardrum-shattering attempts at 'warming up'. I COULDA DAAAAAAAAAAANCED ALL NIGHT! AND STIIIIIIIIIIIIILL HAB BEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGED FOR MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE~ Saeo winced visibly as the salamandyr's mindvoice split through her thoughts like a carving knife, blissfully ignorant to the agony he was causing. NOT STUPIDBABYPEST BADBADBADBAD!! Freckle scolded, scrabbling clumsily to perch on the edge of her bowl and frill at him. Elle, who had been watching Freckle squirm amongst the glows with great interest up to this point, took it upon herself to hop up onto the low table and bat the irate green back into protection of her glowing nest, hissing and spitting vulgarity all the way. Saeo sighed, her blue mimicking the sound with his own melodic croon.
This is going to be a long night, isn't it? Well...yes. Yes it is.[/color]
AIE COULDA DAAAAANCED DAAAAAANCED DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANCED AAAAAAAAAAALL NIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT~[/i]
