The problem with having a mandyr named Me? Everytime he insulted her or told her to shut up because he just wanted to be left alone he felt like he was talking to himself. Or maybe that was just the feelings she felt being translated as his own? Also, saying 'just leave me alone' tended to get confused. Well, if he was being honest with himself, the fact that he'd just been ditched was what had him so upset in the first place so perhaps it was for the best that Me just wouldn't leave him alone.
Ae'on didn't care for friends but he swore he needed to find some male company the next time he was forced to be social. Women were too much trouble. Perhaps he should have asked Nephele for tips on how to deal with them at the Gather but oh well. Sfelyth's sudden flash of concern and rummaging in his mind was met with a tiredly annoyed, What is it? Versaith asked me about poison. She seems to be concerned. The boy froze and had to get the blue to repeat what he'd said.
The exchange had the blue reveal a small amount of yellow in his eyes. Versaith sister, Mine says poison is very dangerous. Is Yours poisoned? She needs healing right away, Sfelyth said clamly and seriously. Rarely did the blue use such a serious tone but he could tell when it was needed. Should just leave her be, he caught his mentally grumble. You know you can't do that. Why not? Because...because you care about her. And even if that wasn't the case you've never denied someone help.
The bluerider huffed but he was used to dealing with tense situations when it came to healing and so took charge and his mindmates obeyed. Fine, get Versaith to tell Jenna to stay calm and not to move. "Me, help me find her." Poison was a time sensitive thing. Getting to her too late would be...bad, to say the least. Sister, Yours must stay calm and still. Mine says movement won't help. Shall we go and scout for a clearing or something while we wait? Sfelyth was all set to follow the green. Waiting sucked.
It was Me who noticed the signs Jenna's angry stomping about had left behind first. Ae'on might not know much about tracking but even he could follow where she'd gone. The bluerider hadn't gone far from where they'd parted ways and he wasn't so directionally challenged as his sister. Ae'on finally found Jenna and sighed inwardly in relief. he was still angry and upset but he certainly didn't want her dead or anything. Still, he had no personal words to offer her at that moment. As he approached her he said, "Let me see that bite."

A racing heart would only make the poison spread faster. Deep breaths, calm down. Jenna closed her eyes as she lungs slowly filled and emptied a few times. Don't panic. Keeping her hands pressed just below her throat, the green rider began to head in the direction she could sense Versaith. They'd been at the pens, so calmly following the bond would bring her out of the trees. More importantly she would get into the open and Versaith could fly her to the infirmary.
Mine! You shouldn't be moving!
Jenna ignored the spike if irritation she felt at the words. I have to get to a place where you can pick me up. Versaith paused for moment, puzzled on the statement that made sense. The green couldn't get to her rider, so it only made sense for Jenna to come out to her - which required moving. Versaith keened softly at Sfelyth; know that his matter-of-the-fact attitude meant he was being serious. The green didn't know who to believe. Cautiously she spoke again to her rider, You really shouldn't move..
And what do you know about poison? Jenna's thought snapped, her eyes narrowing as she came to a sudden halt. Versaith didn't have to confess to asking Sfelyth and his about it. Hn, so much for trying to keep her heart rate down. Back in the pens, Versaith slightly sunk to the ground in response to the mental cursing that ensued. Argh! Jenna kicked the foots of the nearest tree - instantly wincing at the pain it sprung in her foot. At least it momentarily blocked out the burning sensation in her hand.
Whatever, not like Ae'on was going to come back for her. Jenna would still rather the healer not know about the whole ordeal. Considering, yeah, she'd just told him he was going to get himself hurt. Jenna moved on, a quicker pace this time and not giving a damn about the mental worries Versaith's sent her way. No point in waiting around for help to arrive, they had to get to it themselves and – Oh.
Jenna froze in her tracks a second time at the sight of Ae'on. Maybe it was chance and he didn't – ah crap. No, he knew. Jenna felt the stubbornness rising up, but manage to swallow the most of it down. She switched the position of her hands so that the bitten one was resting on top of the other but kept them both resting high up on her chest. See? Bitten. Jenna didn't think Ae'on could do much about it to be honest. Hopefully he wouldn't stand there and lecture her, wasting her precious time she needed to get to the infirmary. How was poison treated anyway - was it treatable? It had to be.
I don't know brother, she is coming out this way - I couldn't make her stay put. Versaith still did hop into the air, only to glide across the width of the pen and land closer to the trees. Is mine going to be okay? Is yours going to fix her?

Ae'on wanted to sigh at Jenna's behaviour. Yes, that was terribly helpful, thank you. She didn't say anything but he was fairly sure he saw it in her face. Her unwillingness to show him. Fine. He stepped closer and all but glared at the bite. Humph. Hated poisons, he did. Of course he knew how to treat them but it wasn't what he'd finally chosen to specialize in. "Stay still," he muttered quietly. He could hardly ask Jenna for cloth so with a barely audible sigh he reached for the hem of his own shirt and tore it.
"You're gonna be the death of all my shirts, I swear," he commented as he grabbed her wrist firmly enough that she'd have to seriously struggle to get out. The boy probably shouldn't have said anything at all. She'd just get annoyed and probably start to be stubborn. Bah. Ae'on started wrapping the cloth just a little above her hand, wrapping up her arm a couple times before overlapping and moving back down her wrist to her hand. "That should give us more time to get you to the infirmary."
Sfelyth nuzzled Versaith gently, trying to be comforting. Hers would be alright. His was a very good fixer, the blue knew. Ignoring his own very mild injuries, the young blue leapt into the air after Versaith and followed her across the paddock. Sfelyth still thought His attracted considerably more trouble than he ever did. Mine will help, Sfelyth assured the green, He is very good at fixing things. Yours will be just fine.
Ae'on scrunched his nose up in distaste. This...was going to be awkward. "I'll carry you out so the dragons can pick us up. You shouldn't be moving too much." He winced as he expected yelling and maybe even fists flying. Never could tell what the greenrider might do.

Despite herself, Jenna found herself chuckling at Ae'on's words. A wry smile lifted on her lips as he willingly ripped up his shirt for her. She surrendered her hand to him, quietly watching as he wrapped the bite. Sadly she had not spent enough time in the Healer Hall to learn how to treat poisons. She'd still be learning about trauma, and during those times she had been more concerned with a certain boy. Jenna lifted her gaze to Ae'on's face, speaking only a little higher than whisper, "Thanks.. for coming back.."
Then he was saying he'd have to carry her – erk. Jenna pulled her hand back to rest against her collarbone. How had it all happened. She had met up with him, teased him for being too soft and now he was here to offer to tote her back to the weyr. "It's not a far walk," She voiced quickly before stubbornly stepping off to head.. in the wrong direction. Jenna sworn to herself before spinning back around to head to where Versaith's bond tugged. With her unbitten hand she grabbed Ae'on's sleeve and pulled him along with her.
Versaith fixed Sfelyth with a silent look, then swung her head back toward the trees without a word. The worried hues of yellow had faded with her brother's comforting. She tightly wrapped her tail around her feet but didn't show any outward signs of relaxing. She was ready at any instance's notice to spring into the air if needed.
Please hurry mine.

Ae'on quirked a brow at the girl's laugh but didn't comment as he was still wrapping her hand. He found out he appreciated her finding what he'd said amusing rather than taking any offence. Despite the annoyance that he had, indeed, lost another shirt he admitted the irony of it was kind of amusing to him as well. Her quiet words did draw his almost pensive gaze and he smiled faintly before dropping his eyes back to his work. Stubborness was probably one of Jenna's reigning traits but she was surprisingly cute when she wasn't being stubborn.
His mental process skidded to halt there. Thankfully he'd already finished lightly constricting the hand. If his hand lingered on hers a moment longer than necessary, Ae'on refused to notice. Nor did he even complain more than a sigh when Jenna refused to be carried. Fine. She had a point that it really wasn't all that far to get to a place where the dragons could get to him. He almost laughed when she started off the wrong direction. Almost. Then she was grabbing his sleeve and pulling him after her.
The bluerider's brain finally kicked back in and a blush grew across his face at his own thoughts. The heck? How was this tomboy any bit cute? Better question was why he ought to think anyone was cute? Despite his raging thoughts, Ae'on managed to quietly mumble, "I...sorry." For whatever he'd done to anger her. Ae'on was not above apologizing to others when he was calm-ish himself. Besides, they'd been getting along before (if one could call it that) and he preferred it that way to yelling and stomping and getting hurt.

Sorry?
Jenna looked back over her shoulder at the healer she all but dragged along with her. The blush so blazing against his fair skin was easily noticed, and in turn Jenna colored a little in her cheeks; likely less noticeable against her darker skin. She quickly released his sleeve. Her silly heart needed to stop fluttering so quickly. She needed to stay calm, but it was hard as her thoughts frantically dashed to and fro around her mind. "Why are your sorry?" She gave him a crooked smile, somewhat nervous to what his answer might be. "You came back to help me - I hope you're not sorry about all that."
Swallowing, Jenna took in a deep breath and pushed on toward the river. She only made it a few strides before the canopy above her blurred and threatened to start spinning around her. Poisoned, right. It had been a touch foolish on her part to think she'd be able to get all the way to the infirmary before it started to take effect. The cold sweat already gathering on the skin around her neck and chest. Her heart was beginning to dance inside her chest - a light skipping beat that left her on the verge of breathlessness.
Jenna swayed, then knowing Ae'on was nearby, turned to the healer to grip at his shoulder. The next moment she was sinking against him, burying her face into his chest. "I don't.. " She didn't want to faint, and stubbornly she managed to keep her ground against the vertigo tugging at her senses. "You can.. " Carry her now, she wasn't so stubborn anymore. "Ae'on ..I'm sorry." For making this so difficult on him. He'd probably lecture her on it later. She hoped there would be a later anyway. How bad were poisons? God, she hoped she didn't throw up on him. She'd never hear the end of that..
[ooc: feel free to get her all the way to the infirmary~]

Ae'on didn't even realize when his sleeve had been released. He continued to shadow the greenrider fairly closely, eyes flicking down annoyingly frequently to make sure he wouldn't trip on a root. Wouldn't be good to fall on her again. Or maybe he was just trying to avoid her eyes when she gave him that smile? The knowledge that she may think he was apologizing to her for apologizing startled him into meeting her eyes and he said fiercely, "Of course not." What he wanted to say next made him look away again though. "I just...I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you angry."
Then Jenna was practically clinging to him and he almost stepepd back in surprise. Except...except then she'd probably fall and judging by the fact that she was clutching onto him in the first place she probably wouldn't be able to stand on her own. Why was he thinking along such lines anyways? He took her words as permission to carry her though he found himself momentarily at a loss. He'd intended piggyback style while she was still capable of getting on his back. Now he was stuck carrying her in a more...uncomfortable position, at least emotionally.
Ae'on slipped an arm behind Jenna's back and behind her knees and swept her into his arms (man did that sound cheesy) with more effort than he'd ever admit. For fear of her thinking he was calling her fat or something. Women and weight, tch. "Shush," he said in response to her apology. It came out a little gruffer than he wanted so he forced himself to clarify. "Nothing to apologize for." The bluerider couldn't follow Versaith's pull but he could follow Sfelyth's and that would lead him to the green too.
It was with a sigh of relief when Ae'on, Jenna and two dragons in tow, got to the infirmary. He practically growled at the looks some of the apprentices were giving him as he moved to put Jenna in one of the rooms. As he passed one apprentice who was gaping particularly widely he snarled, "Antivenom, if you'd stop spacing out like an idiot. And an IV too. We'll be in room...ah, six A." As the apprentice scurried away Ae'on moved to the room he'd mentioned and laid Jenna out on the bed. What a troublesome girl, really.

Jenna set her forehead against the side of Ae'on's neck. Her skin already starting to take on a feverish heat, but she couldn't help but think he was the warmer one. Cold and shaky was how she felt by the time they reached the infirmary. Her weigh growing more and more of a burden - not that she was getting heavier, but that she no longer had the strength to help ease it. Dead weight, they called it.
As she was laid out on the bed, Jenna quickly turned away to curl in on herself, shivering. Versaith crooned from where she'd landed on the infirmary ledge with Sfelyth. Her eyes once again whirling rapidly in worried shades of orange and yellow. If her brother hadn't been there, no doubt the green would have been reduced to a fit of keening.
"I went to healer hall for a bit.." Jenna mumbled to her company, in no real state to be consciously aware of what she was saying. "Never got to learning about poisons before I left. At Light tower we don't get the jungle variety of tunnel snakes. There are bigger ones that like the cliffs and oceans, but they're not poisonous." Holding her hand, Jenna eyed the wound with something akin to fascination. "How long did you study to be a healer Ae'on, you don't look that old at all.. cute when you get all grumpy faced, but not old.
"Of course, all you do is just sit in here. If you didn't have to take the lessons with the rest of us you'd probably never left. What's so great about being a healer that you like it so much?"

It wasn't exactly easy to ignore the faint breaths on his neck but with Healing in mind it wasn't crippling either. There were several times that he'd had to supress a shiver by reminding himself that her temperature was going up. That was his first concern after he set her on the bed. Aside from administering antivenom they could only treat the symptoms that appeared. He asked for some tepid water for both drinking and for a cloth to put on her forehead from a passing apprentice while he lightly covered Jenna in some blankets. He perched on the edge of the bed with a faint sigh while Sfelyth offered a more physical form of encouragement by cuddling with Versaith.
When she started babbling Ae'on wondered whether he should try and get her to stop or let her keep going. He was used to babbling from some patients and he usually didn't care but...this was Jenna of the Stubborn Pride. Curiosity won out instead of his good nature and he let her go on. Her cute comment made him blush lightly and his eyes drifted towards the open door. Wasn't the apprentice back yet? She'd asked a question, unfortunately, and he answered despite the fact that he suspected she might not even remember about it later. He mumbled "seven turns" as the apprentice returned with water.
He marvelled that she still managed to make him all defensive when she was the one who'd landed in the infirmary for her chosen lifestyle. He wet the cloth and asked her to roll into her back, taking his sweet time with answering her question. Why, exactly, did he love Healing in particular? As he lightly brushed any hair off her forehead to place the cloth there - that move had Me cooing, Sweeeet, Handsome afterlook and a mumbled "That's 'look after.'" from Ae'on - he figured out his answer.
"Healing's so great because I don't have to kill someone to protect a life, so even I can save silly, stubborn girls like you."
