In the jealous games people play My lips are sealed. As the path wore thin beneath her boots, Jenna's paused to double check her inventory. A pair of short spears tied across her back. Belt knife at her waist. Another blade hidden inside the boots that tied half-way up her calves. Riding boots in truth because the young greenrider liked the rugged look of them. Along with the frayed pants and the smudge of dirt on the bottom of her shirt from where she had wiped her hand. A smirk flashed across Jenna's features. If only her mother could see her now - what a stink she would make out of Jenna dressing too much like a man and romping around in the jungle like a wildling. At times Jenna missed the fussy woman. Jenna lifted her hands to check the tie holding back her hair. For once she had let it grow long but she wasn't about to wear it loose like the other girls. Special care was taken, even, to make sure her hair stay bound. The arrangement felt all in order, until a sudden gust pull Jenna nearly off her feet. Not just any breeze either, but the violent tailwind of her green speeding over the tree tops and skimmed just above the river. The water slightly parting for her as she raced along. A look was shot in the green's direction as Jenna huffed a loosened strand of hair out of her face. Must she do that all the time? Versaith preened in response, her forked tail striking the water to create a wall of spray further mark her flight path. It got her attention, didn't it, and let her see how fast she was flying. Jenna snorted, tucked the hair behind he ears before loosening one of the spears. Show off to someone else, would you?Because today Jenna was determined to be proud of herself. Today she would go hunting.. and actually return with something. Even a wherry would be nice. Besides, it would take Jenna's mind off the fact that two of Versaith's clutchsiblings had their maiden flight.. which meant her own green shouldn't too long now. Versaith didn't look like she was glowing, but one could never tell with her dark hide. A trouble thought to push to the back of the mind. Jenna lifted her chin and set out along the riverbank. .. animals were attrached to water to drink, right?

"Damnit, get back here You!" Ae'on shouted at his flying green menace. He could usually get along with her but when she went to go 'visit her admirers' in the Main Hall he was forced to run after her and try and get her not to say embarassing and totally false things about him. Me! The green 'mandyr corrected gleefully. The prospect of getting herself and Hers attention had Me all excited. What was the fun, exactly, of looking at the local herbs away from all the people? No one to get the attention of where they'd been!
Oh? And what was this? Another show off had appeared on the scene. Ae'on followed the green's train of thought and was alerted to the presence of Jenna. "Shards," he sighed loudly. The last thing he needed was to run across her. The girl made him nervous, defensive, and annoyed all at once. Despite all that he still felt a small amount of respect for her. She was tough, for a girl; yelling at him while partially naked and bleeding though he'd been trying to help. He never had gotten that shirt back, either. Hmph. There really was no reason to like her at all. He fully intended to just ignore her and head a separate direction so he wouldn't have to acknowledge her when Me fluttered right on over.
Hihi, babe, Me said to Jenna. Huntering? Looksee, Handsome good catch, yes? Handsome, smart, handsome, handsome. Nice ass! Ae'on did a literal facepalm as he turned red and approached closer. "You. You! Argh, Me!" Yeeeess, pet? "Shut up!" As if she wasn't bad enough on her own, Sfelyth had been alerted to the situation because of Ae'on's agitation and now the blue was on his way to play around (and shamelessly flirt) with Versaith. Though he wasn't terribly close to the green he did like her for her daring attitude. She made a fun playmate. He looked forward to her flight.
Ae'on took a deep breath to calm his embarassment but not his anger. "Hey, girl, just ignore her, alright? She's being stupid, as usual." That would hopefully undo any damage Me had done. He didn't need Jenna randomly pissed off at him again. He could swear the woman was always PMSing or something. He knew he could be rather abrasive sometimes but surely not enough to always be warranting her anger.

What the–
Jenna swatted at the air as if the salamandyr was little more than a fat runnerfly about to clumsily collide into her face. She didn't know what the critter was blathering on about until she caught movement out of the corner of her eyes. Ae'on. Hmph. Finally come out of his infirmary cubby-hole? Tch. Jenna couldn't remember the last time she'd seen him. Versaith and Sfelyth played, but the healer never came tethered along with the blue. Although, the babbling green salamandyr seemed to be tugging Ae'on on by an invisible string.
Twirling the short spear, Jenna snorted as she took it in both hands and pointed the sharp head in Ae'on's direction. A brow arch in scrutiny of Me's boast. Oh, he did not just refer to her as just girl. "That flabby fussybutt?" Jenna side-stepped, stalking around her 'prey' while keeping the spear leveled at him. Far enough away, of course, though she doubt that would detour the fuzzy healer from complaining about a weapon being pointed at him. Might hurt someone - well duh. Her steps were smooth; Jenna had grown a good second inch over her weyrlinghood and her body had finished out the curves that marked her as a woman. Though, Jenna still kept to the practice of wrapping her chest to not make her bust so pronounced. She didn't want big jiggly blobs of fat sticking out the front of her chest. No thanks.
"I'm hunting for more impressive quarry," Yes, now she remembered the last time she had really seen Ae'on. At the gather when he was sucking face with some older woman. She skimmed past the healer, almost bumping him with the blunt end of her spear as she moved toward the trees. "Shouldn't you be hiding in the infirmary? It's too dangerous out here for someone as delicate such as yourself."
The ribbing of the healer - lacking any malice despite whatever the healer might hear - was perhaps connected to Versaith's playful nature once she spotted her blue playmate winging her direction. The green twisted in on herself, changing direction in the blink of an eye without losing any momentum. She spun playfully up into higher skies, only to streamline herself and slip under and past Sfelyth with enough speed to tug at the air he used to keep afloat. Oh she had seen him participate in the flights of their sisters. Versaith had watched them - studied them. So when she flew, no one was going to catch her. Been busy brother dear?

Me could have been smirking if it were physically possible. As it was, she absolutely oozed triumphant energy. It was disgusting, as far as Ae'on was concerned. What was so great about getting him noticed? Wasn't she the one who enjoyed attention and not him? Me ignored the thoughts of Hers in order to respond to the female. Fussybutt? Fuss butt? Aha, want to fuss over Handsome's butt? Ae'on groaned out loud and would have made a snatch for the green if not for the business end of a weapon being pointed at him. Me was content to ignore the comment about more impressive quarry but Ae'on narrowed his eyes.
"Why don't you be on your way then? If I'm sooooo unimpressive, what's the point of aiming your little toy my way?" It was bravado on his part. He'd been attacked in a flight and while he hadn't incurred any major injuries due to a certain annoying raccoon - yes, that was referring to Syrene - he'd gotten a little wary of pointed objects pointed his way. Apparently several people didn't realize that he was one of the better Healers left at Selenitas since a couple ran off to Burimyu. It wasn't always so easy to get replacements from Healer Hall.
He was all set for letting Jenna go despite Me's rather vocal objections running in the background when she had the nerve to insult him. "Da-dangerous!?" He spluttered angrily. How dare she! He may not really be a fighter but he could take care of himself on a little walk! He'd gone through the same training as her, after all. With a harumph and a crossing of his arms he set off after Jenna. "I am not that delicate." He'd prove it, too. Whether she wanted him to or not.
Sfelyth crooned appreciatively at his sister's aerial skills. He used the pull on his wind to twist about after Versaith. Not terribly so, sister dearest, he answered jovially. I did miss your company during those brief times of activity though. He pulled up next to her briefly in order to brush his tail along hers before abruptly diving. Catch me if you can? He teased playfully. Versaith was always up to a challenge.

It never ceased to amused Jenna the way Ae'on would get all bent out of shape. Although, Jenna was fairly sure if she just looked in Ae'on's direction the healer would spiral into a sour mood. Aha, the greenrider smiled to herself as she strolled into the jungle, she had just remembered the nickname she had made up for him all those months ago. Sourpus. It suited him still. No mind was paid to the healer's stammer. Jenna was content to leave him behind to indeed seek out more impressive specimens.
Noise from behind, though, had Jenna pausing while half-turning to face Ae'on. A single brow rose in question to the healer's decision to follow. She was certain trekking through the jungle in search of prey was not Ae'on's cup of tea. The way her bright green eyes slowly swept down his attire said it all. Ae'on was ill prepared to go hunting. Jenna's hip angled with her attitude. She settled her free hand on the side of it as she once again looked Ae'on straight on in the face. Really, was he really going to follow her?
"No?" She tossed him the short spear, greatly suspecting he'd miss catching it or cut himself in the process. No faith what-so-ever in her fellow dragon rider. The smile, however, was all for challenging him to prove her wrong. "We're hunting." Plural pronoun, because whether Ae'on liked it or not, he had just volunteered himself to be her partner. He'd probably end up scaring everything away within a mile radius. Oh well, one more thing to add to the list to tease him about. "Not going for walk, not.. picking flowers."
Her gaze went to the herbs it looked like he'd been gathering before crossing paths with her. The look flicked back up to Ae'on, then off to his green salamandyr. "Does she always go around trying to find you a date? Lady at the gather not think very much of your attitude either?" With that said, Jenna turned back around to lead the way into the jungle.
Versaith couldn't turn down the dare. At once her wings angled to slip her body down through the stream of air Sfelyth made with his dive. She quickly dropped past him, swinging under him to level out the dive and let her tail sweep across his body - leaving a wet trail across his blue hide from the water she'd been playing in earlier. Shouldn't it be the other way around? She teased, slipping out over the jungle and weave around the top of the taller trees. You are suppose to catch me.
Leaves twirled through the air in her wake, I've seen you chasing our sisters - didn't catch them though. Must be too slow~ The green rolled back around, the turn tight and would have dislodged a rider if she had one. If you can't even catch Iwyrth, what hope do you have of catching me~

Ae'on stood his ground as Jenna turned to look at him. He didn't bother to say anything as he glowered at her inspection of him. Whether she approved or not he was following her anyways. As far as he was concerned, no one owned the jungle around the weyr and he was free to walk in them the same as anybody else. Much to his surprise she seemed to decide that he actually could accompany her. Though he'd never admit it he felt a surge of pride. Hah! Her opinion so didn't matter but he'd still convinced her somehow. The faint smug smile on his face faded quickly when she tossed a weapon at him.
He fumbled to catch it and very nearly did cut himself in the process. Nevertheless, he managed to catch it without too much embarrasment and scowled at her. "You are, without a doubt, the weirdest girl I know," he commented with a sigh. It was a far cry from his usual heat though. It almost sounded like a compliment. As if being weird was preferred. In a way it was. The boy couldn't stand simpering or whiny women. It made him grind his teeth and rolls his eyes while he tried actively to avoid them.
'These flowers may end up saving your life one day." He trailed off muttering something along the lines of ungrateful people not letting him heal them as Me settled on his shoulder, curiously watching the exchanges between the humans. How strange. The green preened at the questions about her while Ae'on blushed. "Th-that was just some old woman's twisted way of having fun...make that and old woman and my sister's twisted way of having fun. I don't even know her!" He shuddered at the memory before answering the first question. "As for the brat, it sure seems that way sometimes. She just likes the attention though."
Ae'on trailed after Jenna. Now that she'd gotten him into a defensive mood over his 'mandyr and the strange lady at the Gather he was sulking in almost-silence, minus one last comment. "What does it matter to you? Jealous?"
Yes, his sister was quite skilled in the air. He oughtn't be surprised. When she slipped pass him he leveled out too, making a last ditch effort to avoid the tail he knew he couldn't avoid. Is that how you want it? I'd be happy to oblige, my lady, Sfelyth replied lightly, following her path around the tops of the trees closely. He was almost close enough to nip playfully at her tail when she took a turn. Oh really?
Perhaps I was not trying as hard for them as I would for you, he offered. A moment later he decided to add on, Though of course, only the most skilled would be worthy of you, Versaith sister. Sfelyth recovered from the turn a moment later. He turned his surprise into a chance, going wide and then speeding towards the spot Versaith was going. He zipped past her in a daring move that could have led to a crash had he not timed it well. He trailed his tail along her nose playfully as he passed. Heh.

Weird – huh. Jenna preferred to be called different. She didn't find it so odd to go wading into marshes in just her underwear to collect toads, or moving out into the jungle to do a bit of hunting. No doubt Ae'on only found those things odd because she was a girl. Compliment or not, Jenna still turned to face Ae'on once again. "I'm sure you prefer your women with big fat breasts," As she spoke Jenna's hand parted the collar of her shirt. Half-bent forward as if to flash Ae'on her cleavage - of which there was hardly any. What little Jenna did have was neatly wrapped away by the cloth strips. She batted her lashes at him, turning away from the healer while slapping a hand against the side of her modest rump. "And a nice round ass."
Or was it suppose to be wide child-bearing hips. Hm. Regardless! Jenna sauntered onward, snorting her disdain over what the image of woman often meant. Ae'on, holdbred as he obviously was, probably wanted a nice woman to keep in the kitchen - and wash his clothes; like that stupid red shirt. Jenna hopped onto a fallen log, briskly walking down the length before switching to an fallen tree that angled up into the trees. She climbed up a few feet up before crouching against the wood. One hand curled around a branch to steady herself as she scanned their surroundings for any sign of prey.
Though, when Ae'on inferred she was jealous over him sucking face with some old cougar lady, Jenna's gaze snapped down to him with a scowl. It didn't matter to her! She just saw them, okay? Sure, seeing Ae'on mooching with some woman made her annoyed with the healer - maybe because it just reminded her of her time at the healer hall, when the boy she thought liked her had gone of to have a grope fest with some other girl behind the stables. The difference here was that she wasn't involved with Ae'on; she didn't like him - and Ae'on didn't like her. Rolling her eyes, "You're not my boyfriend, so why would I be jealous?"
The spearhead jabbed into the soft wood a few times in a show of disinterest, "Got awfully defensive there boy." Because he had called her girl. Hmph. "Old hag tell you you're a bad kiisseer~?"
You'll have to try a lot harder~ Versaith playfully crooned as she sharply veered to the right to avoid Sfelyth's tail. She sped back the way he'd come, angling her wings to rise higher into the air. Truth be told she was a bit tired - she'd been at her aerial stunts all morning. Her wings caught a thermal and she slowly circled in the warm air; letting it put her higher into the sky. She circled Sfelyth in a wide circle in this grace period of rest. Although, maybe I've already had my flight brother - I was just too fast. No one caught me.
A devious whirl touched at her eyes as she banked away from the blue. Let's raz the herdbeasts.

Ae'on blinked in surprise when Jenna turned around again before flushing crimson and snapping his gaze away from her assets (or lack thereof, since that's what she seemed to be implying). The accusation, puncuated by her slap, had him simmering though. "You think me that shallow, huh? Don't you dare presume anything about me," he snapped, indeed forgetting that they were supposed to be quiet in order to actually catch anything. If he liked big boobs and an ass he could have just taken the hag at Gather up on her offer.
Oho. Calling her jealous made her angry huh? Well good. He shouldn't be the only one getting pissed off. Why'd he always end up meeting the most difficult people? Actually, a better question was why did he put up with them after meeting them? At her question he shrugged and muttered, "Good question." He didn't particularly care if she heard that though. He didn't seriously think she was jealous. What reason could she possibly have to be jealous anyways?
Defensive? Him? That made absolutely no sense! "Considering she propositioned me afterwards I couldn't have been that bad. Are you sure I'm the defensive one here?" Ugh, if he didn't have something to prove he so would have been out of there by then. Instead he slowly and clumsily made his way up the fallen tree. He was not the world's mot agile person, even if weyrling lessons had slimmed him down a bit. Tch, he'd been fine the way he was before. No doubt once he graduated he'd put it back on again eventually.
Sfelyth was amused by her quick thinking. Careful what you say. One might think you're encouraging me for your flight, he teased lightly. He let her get away though, rising more leisurely until they were about even in height. Oh? But what would be the fun of having no one catch you? Surely there must be one who would dare try hard enough to earn your favour, sister dearest. It would be least you deserve. The suggestion to stir up the herdbeasts was met with a quick spin before he shot towards the feeding grounds.

Not shallow, Jenna mentally corrected as Ae'on fumed, she just pegged him like any other guy that wanted a woman as - well, a woman. She didn't have a clue what Ae'on found attractive - nor cared. Yet the way he continued to shoot down the basic appeal of woman made her start to think maybe Ae'on didn't like females at all. He blushed handsomely at being teased, but it also could be the flush of anger. The later seemed more likely when taking in the healer's temperament. What a shame.
Rising up, Jenna balanced on the log as Ae'on began to follow. Silly healer. "Maybe she just wanted to have a good laugh at how bad you are~" Jenna grinned as she slide down the angled log. The spear stabbed into the bark just off to the side, becoming a brace as Jenna stopped short of colliding into Ae'on. She leaned forward - the angle of the log making her the same height as the healer - and proceed to purse her lips like a fish's and make kissy noises at Ae'on as well as crossing her eyes to finish off the look.
She caught his arm before her momentum could bump her into him - or he ran screaming in the other direction only to fall off the log all together. It would be bad for the healer to break his neck in a fall. Jenna laughed, her face back into a normal amused smile as she kept a firm hold on the spear. "I'd guess you were something like that." And, because the healer was clearly blocking her way down, Jenna let him go as she turned and jumped off the side of the trunk. She landed neatly, looking back up at Ae'on with a grin.
Why ever would I do that, Versaith's eyes narrowed playfully on her brother. She favored him, unquestionably, but it wasn't her fault that none of the other blues played half as well as Sfelyth. He was a terrible flirt as well - a trait Versaith knew was not exclusive to her. When she had her flight, Versaith would want him there, but he would have to fly with all the others. The green wanted to see what the other blues had to offer her - if any of them could even come close to catching her. Maybe one day I can see just how daring these suitors are.
Flipping around backwards, Versaith arched her wings in close to her body. Her thing frame stream lining to slip through the air the way a fish would through water. She loved the pull of gravity and the constant increase of speed she reached as she plummeted toward the ground. Her wings angled enough just to bring her course toward the feeding pens.
Closer, closer..
Versaith waited until the last second - further than any sensible dragon would dare drop - before flaring her wings. She felt the tips brush the grass below her with how close she had come to crashing. Nothing but wicked delight filled her as she flew the length of the pen; the herdbeasts bleating in fright and parting from her path in much the way the water had earlier. Oh - fence! The green pulled up, catching her hindlegs and tail on the barrier. The pain was hardly felt, though the scent of ichor let her know she had not gotten away unharmed. A few little knicks were well worth the adrenaline rush.

Anger seemed to follow Jenna hand in hand. He caught himself wondering if he would have liked her company at all had she not been so damn annoying. Well, probably not. As a general rule he preferred no company at all. If he had to be around people he would rather be around people who needed healing. Or, heck, he didn't mind practicing dragonhealing either. The patients were usually quieter and dare he even say more grateful.
He was brought out of his thoughts by Jenna teasing him. His eyes widened in alarm as she slid down the log. What was she thinking!? She was going to hit him...oh. He supposed the spears could be used like that too. Ae'on watched her make the kissy face with an incredulous expression that slowly turned into a smirk. He knew that she was mocking him but did she even realize how completely rediculous she looked?
The physical contact made him twitchy and...a sudden hiccup escaped him. Talk about bad timing to get a fit of hiccups. She slipped off the log and he scowled at her amusement. "Was not," he grumbled, a hiccup interrupting him. He did, however, see a way to turn it to his advantage. "Though now I know how you look when you try to kiss a guy. How very attractive." The sarcasm at the end was puncuated by another hiccup and he growled as he moved to jump off the log. If jenna could do it, he certainly could!
It was clear when he landed that he wasn't nearly as graceful as Jenna. His landing led to him stumbling straight into the greenrider. Unless she was able to catch his weight or get out of the way she'd likely be going down with him. Whoops?
Why, because I'm your most favourite brother in the world, am I not? Sfelyth was a confident blue and that confidence had not been shaken at all by the two clutchsiblings that had not chosen him. Their loss, not his. Versaith might prove more of a challenge than the other two but that would surely only make him try harder. It was more fun that way anyways.
As Versaith maneouvered into a dive, he called after her, The daredevil strikes again. Herdbeasts, beware! He was not one to wait until she was done just to receive praise or attention. He folded his wings to his back and let gravity take over for him. He wasn't quite so recklessly daring as the green. What good would it do to injure himself for no reason? Still, he was quite close to the ground as well when he pulled out of the dive.
Sfelyth swerved from side to side to terrorize as many herdbeasts as possible before he noticed that Versaith had injured herself. You didn't break a nail now did you, Versaith? He called teasingly. Showing his concern for her would probably only end up annoying her. Distracted out of concern, Sfelyth didn't notice the herdbeast trying (and failing) to escape him directly in his path. The blue smacked into the animal and instantly tucked himself up to avoid seriously injury.
Oops, the blue said as he came to the end of his crash. He stood up and took a quick tally of any injuries but found nothing more serious than a few bruises. It would seem I caught us a meal? The blue offered to Versaith. He had eaten recently; a full herdbeast would be far too much for him.

"You wish you knew what I was like to kiss," Jenna chimed as she turned to walk backwards. Later she'd blame the flirtatious nature on Versaith, for now she pinned Ae'on with a devious grin. Jenna was by no means an expert on kissing - or things of that nature - but she had her times with a few boys. Kissing and perhaps a hand that managed to move up her shirt, or start down waist. She'd always told them no - stupid boys. It showed just how interested they were in her when after being told no they'd go find some floozy that would say yes.
As Ae'on jumped, Jenna stepped forward with a hand raised as if to steady him. This quickly turned into a belated back pedal and a widening of eyes as the healer came crashing toward her. Her heel caught against a root and Jenna let out a high pitched eep as Ae'on collided into her. At least she had enough sense to shift the spear she held to be behind her back to avoid impaling the clumsy git. It seemed like a wise move, until her back hit the ground and she felt her wrist pinned down by the shaft of the spear and their combined weight on top of it.
Ow.
Holding back a pained grimace with a bitten lower lip, Jenna tried to push up only to find Ae'on had her good and well stuck in his tangle of legs and the spear that crossed with her own to keep her arm trapped behind her back. And while Jenna had the typical deeply tanned skinned of all southerners, her cheeks still noticeably darkened as she look up at Ae'on. She fixed him with a stubborn look - like hell she was going to let him know that her arm was burning with pain - or her heart had picked in pace. Quietly she muttered, cheeks burning, "You mind?"
The green flexed her claws in the air to show Sfelyth that each nail was rightfully intact. She circled back to croon at her fallen brother. He didn't look hurt but – the green folded her wings and landed next to him to inspect for herself. She'd feel bad if he got hurt; as much as he flattered her with his also daring stunt. Versaith licked Sfelyth's foreleg - kisses made things all better, right?
She look at the fallen herdbeast, flicking it with her tail - shame on it for getting in Sfelyth's way. It seems you have, Lowering her head and keening softly to her brother, Versaith eyes whirled in worried colors. Are you alright?

Ae'on blinked at Jenna's flirtatiousness. Umm...what? He suddenly felt like he was talking to a completely different person. His bewildered expression was quite comical but he decided to shake it off as much as he could. The bright blush on his face kind of gave him away. He was beginning to think he ought to spend more time in the sun and develop a nice tan to hide future blushes - not that he was counting on people making him blush - rather than cooped up inside where the sun couldn't get him.
The bluerider wasn't able to form the indgination that she thought he needed help jumping when he botched the landing. Still, had she not tried to offer help she wouldn't have been stuck in the position she was. Speaking of positions...It didn't take him more than a couple seconds to register the fact that he was on top of her. Ignoring the awkward teenage thoughts that sprung up (or making a valiant effort to, anyways) he was about to try and get up when he noticed the look.
Too funny. "Sorry." He still obliged her by getting off her, though he only managed to roll to the side and park his rump next to her. He chuckled softly though he doubted she'd so the humour in it. A pair of blushing teens out in the wilderness? It almost looked like some kind of strange date. "You alright?" he asked after a moment. He had fallen on her, after all.
Sfelyth was a little surprised and vaguely touched by Versaith's actions but he didn't show it. When she licked his leg he nuzzled her lightly in appreciation. Cool saliva over slightly heated, bruised muscle did actually feel nice. The blue eyed the herdbeast a little distastefully because he knew he'd be even more sore the next day but he didn't blame Versaith any for his own folly. Nothing too serious, Sfelyth assured his sister. Thank you. His sincere appreciation just had to be voiced.

Vibrant green eyes narrowed in response to the amusement forming on Ae'on's expression. Her leg shifted beneath him, just daring him to laugh in her face so she had a half-decent excuse to slam her knee into his crotch. She was just waiting for him to start into some scolding tale of how it was all her fault he'd fallen onto her. Because yes, it was her fault for being a touched worried Ae'on was going to break an ankle, or trip and fall into his spear, by making the jump. Should of let his clumsiness take care of itself. Jenna barely kept herself from shoving Ae'on the rest of the way off when he finally did move.
Jenna jerked up into a sitting position, turning away from Ae'on as she pulled her wrist to her chest. The fingers of her other hand gently rubbing at the bruised skin. The healer was laughing - what the hell about!? - but he had yet to mock her. In fact, he was being nice; which only made Jenna suspicious about his intent. Ae'on was never kind to her - at least without offering it with a back-handed insult.
"Just fine," She half-growled in distrust as she rose to her feet. The injured wrist remained hugged against her abdomen as she retrieved both spears and slid them back into the sling she'd fashion for bits of leather. After taking a step away, Jenna turned around to face Ae'on. "Go back to the infirmary. You're going to get yourself killed out here, then how am I going to explain a dead healer to the rest of the weyr?"
It wasn't even the playful way she had been teasing him earlier - or all the other times she teased him. This time Jenna was serious. "You shouldn't be out here." Clumsy git. Something akin to hurt crossed Jenna's expression before she turned on heel and walked off; intending to leave Ae'on behind. They hadn't moved too far into the jungle, he could find his way back.
Versaith again licked Sfelyth's hide with an apologetic croon. She couldn't express how sorry she was he had gotten hurt playing her game. Hers always told her it was silly and reckless - oh but the adrenaline was just so lovely - Versaith ducked her head low to the ground in guilt. Meekly she took a bit of the herdbeast's haunch to please Sfelyth's offer. It's time for a break anyway, The dark green leaned up against her brother, her head still lowered in wordless apology; completely forgetting her own bleeding nicks in light of Sfelyth's minor bruises. We can go swimming. It's always helped to soothe my bumps and bruises.

Ae'on eyed Jenna almost warily, amusement dying quickly, when she all but growled at him. Okay, sure, maybe being fallen on took any of the humour out of the situation for her but it wasn't like he'd meant to fall on her. He was sorely tempted to point out that she'd been the one to step closer rather than leave him alone. The only reason he didn't was because he couldn't actually see her expression. Body language spoke volumes to people but expressions helped too.
When she finally did show her face it was to say he should leave. Okay, so hunting wasn't exactly fun for him or his strong point. He could admit that. No one got better at anything without trying though. Her serious tone stung more than he liked to admit when she told him he shouldn't be there. Didn't belong there is what he heard. Ae'on narrowed his eyes, missing the hurt in her features before she turned to walk away. "I'll be out here if I like!" He shouted. "I don't need your help out here."
She could go hunt and explore the deeper parts of the jungle all she liked. See if he cared! Ae'on stomped away in another direction, one that most definitely did not lead back to the weyr. Just like he wouldn't care about her, she wouldn't care about him. That arrangement would work the best for them, the healer decided. Me offered a comforting croon. Handsome being angry was normal enough. Being upset was not so common. Go 'firmary? Heal sillies? Or Me could call lotsa lotsa pretties for Handsome. "Shut up, Me."
Sfelyth crooned comfortingly when Versaith continued to feel guilty. He appreciated the concern but seeing his sister so was more upsetting than a few bruises. It was fairly obvious to him that the so caleld break was mostly for his sake but he let it pass. What better for a break than good food and good company, he commented cheerfully, pulling flesh off the herdbeast. And an after meal swim seems like a wonderful idea. Perhaps some cuddling after too. He might be pushing his luck a bit, but cuddle buddies were always awesome.

Whatever.
Jenna tuned out the sound of Ae'on's voice; though judging by the way her steps fell more heavily against the ground with each passing stride, she must of heard the words despite her attempts. Stomp. Stupid Ae'on. Stomp, stomp. She continued on with heated thoughts for several more minutes, moving further in the jungle without direction. Jenna tightly crossed her arms in front of her chest, paying no mind to where her temper lead her. As long as it was away from him she didn't care. That stupid boy. Jenna shook her head in attempt to not even think about it. Yet as she lifted a hand to wipe the beginnings of a tear aside she knew it was pointless.
So what if she actually liked his company. What he might see as bickering she saw as good-natured teasing. Try to tell the fussy-butt healer that. Yeah, tell him that hey, maybe she liked him as a friend. Ha! Watch him laugh at her, just as he was oh-so-amused after seeing her blush. Playful teasing was one thing, out right mockery quite the other. No, he hadn't said anything to her about it - but it was only a matter of time. "Damnit." Jenna paused to again brush at the underside of her eyes. She'd been more emotional lately as Versaith edged toward her first mating flight. It didn't help matters that Z'ves had died recently. He'd been kind to her, a friend; and yes, she'd cried over hearing about his death.
Jenna started out again, half blind behind the hand rubbing at the corner of her eyes. The second step brought her tumbling to the ground. A sharp pain flared in her hand shortly afterward. Jenna growled in frustration as she drew back up onto her knees. Movement to her left drew her gaze, and upon focusing she went rigid as the tail of a tunnel snake retreated into the grass. What made her freeze in sheer panic was the brightly colored bands circling said tail; a tell-tale sign of being poisonous.
Her heart was already starting to race as she let her gaze drop to her hand. The blood pattern cut into her skin let her know that yes, she'd been bitten. Jenna let out a short, slightly hysteria laugh. How utterly ironic. She had worn thick boots and heavy pants to avoid being bitten as she walked through the jungle. Shards, and here she had told that clumsy git to go back to the infirmary because he was going to get himself hurt or killed. She laughed again at the irony of it all, not bothering to stop the couple of tears that managed to fall.
Jenna slowly stood and leaned against the nearest tree while hugging both hands to her chest. Alright, she just had to calm down.. think about which way was back and hope it wasn't too far. Versaith was too big to come get her - maybe a clearing. What's wrong? We might be in some real trouble this time Sai.
Versaith lifted her head from she had nearly fished off half the herdbeast, eyes whirling in yellow as she looked toward the jungle. She shuffled through her rider's mind until she had a vague understanding of what happened. Her head turned toward Sfelyth as her wings began to unfold. To her brother she asked with earnest, What's poison? Is that really bad? Does it go away?
