"This is so – " Jenna didn't finish the curse, thinning her lips together as she stubbornly resolved herself into focusing. Green eyes narrowed on the tiny opening on the end of the sewing needle. She held it level with her face as if this alone would aid in her task of pushing the end of the thread through the eye. Across her lap laid the red shirt in need of mending. The owner of said shirt was none to pleased to know she had possession of it since Jingth's hatching.. and that she had taken to wearing it as a night shirt.. and even less delighted that during the invasion it had been ripped by Versaith's teeth.
Another failed attempt was announced with an audible growl boarding on the line of a outright frustrated scream. "He's such a jerk. Why am I doing this?"
I wouldn't know, but this is boring - I want to go do something. The three month old green replied from where she laid on the floor, staring up at her rider and mentally willing her to leave. Her impatience showed in the constant tap-tap-tap of her tail against the stone. It's not even yours. Let him fix it.
Jenna huffed bangs out of her face and lifted her hands for a second attempt. She hated sewing. Part of the reason she fled Lighttower was because of the deplorable activity. Mother wanted to make her into a rightful woman to take her place aside some rightly man. Pah. You are sewing up his shirt for him. How is it any different?
"Quiet–" Jenna bit back, biting down on her own lip as she almost had it. "Aha!" Success. Jenna pulled the thread through.. all the way through, and blinked absently at the thread and needle that once again were two separate entities. "I am never going to get this done.."
Versaith stood, seizing the red shirt and darting out of the room. She did not want to stay inside all day. Jenna followed hot on her tail, the needle and thread still in hand as she ran. "Versaaaaaith nooo!" Jenna only had a split second to notice the body the slender green darted around. Being human, and admittedly not the most graceful girl, Jenna plowed straight into the stranger.
Oh drat, where did that needle go.

Despite what had happened, Kaius couldn't find himself being upset. Of course, he had been upset when an entire hatching went by and a hatchling hadn't even looked his way. It was probably for the best. If the dragon that was meant to be His hadn't hatched yet, then he would just have to wait for that to happen...if it ever did. He tried not to think about the fact that he might not ever impress...but it was just a hard thought not to...
SLAM!
Right when he was in the middle of thinking of something unpleasant, something ran straight into him.He immediately took several steps back, a confused expression on his face.
" What the...?"
It took him several seconds to see who had run into him, and even then he didn't recognize the girl. Then his eyes shot towards the dragon, running around with a bit of crimson cloth clasped in her jaws. A rather smart boy, it didn't take him long to realize that this was probably why the girl had run into him. Though he wasn't keen on drawing conclusions too soon. Instead, he faced the girl plainly, his chest still smarting from where she had run into him.
" Having problems?" The question was somewhat dry. He wasn't at all please with being used as a human doormat, but it looked like she had other things on her plate than worrying about him yelling at her. Anyway, that wasn't his style. People made mistakes...they were only human.

Kind of a solid guy, wasn't he. Jenna squinted up at the tall guy while rubbing at her tail bone – because she had landed ever so gracefully on her rump. Also, being on the floor, the perspective made Kaisus look every so much taller than reality permitted. It reminded her of the far-fetched stories her brothers use to spin to see how much she'd believe before calling them liars. Jack and the cornstalk? Something like that anyway. She was pretty sure, whatever it was, it had a looming giant in it.
"Uh.." A dazzle with words, as always. "You can say that."
Her lips pulled upward in a crooked grin, and expression that quickly widened in worry. The needle! If she lost it she'd never hear the end of it. The weyrling flipped around to her hands and knees, patting and visually sweeping the ground for the missing tool. "I wish I only had one problem to worry about, but it's like a chain that keeps getting longer. I swear I am just unlucky – do you ever feel that nothing ever goes – Oh."
Jenna had moved to sit back on her heels. Her rambling cutting short as she snapped her mouth close. What had been a gaze meant to raise up to Kaius's face had only made it half way up his tall frame. The needle, that pesky little thing, was sticking out of his side. He must of not felt it during the impact, and she hoped it was nothing more than a little prick. The girl curled her fingers in front of her mouth, finally tearing her gaze away from the stomach she had made into a pin cushion, and stared openly up at the candidate's face.
"I'm.. really... really... sorry. It was an accident. I didn't uhm - you know- plan on running into anyone and I understand if you are angry and uhm – " Green eyes darted down to the needle once again. "I'm sure it's nothing fatal. I er.. kinda trained at a healer hall for a while and it doesn't.. look.. serious..."

Though Kaius was tall, he wasn’t abnormally so. There were plenty of guys taller than him, but he still seemed to intimidate people without even trying. It didn’t exactly please him, but if he cared every time someone did that, he’d literally be apologizing all day long nonstop. So instead, he stared at the girl who was now on her ass, seemingly left speechless from the impact of her into him. It took him a second, watching her with that difficult to read, emotionless gaze, to realize that perhaps he should DO something about this. So, in usual Kaius style, he was about to reach down and ask her if she needed a hand up…
…when she suddenly got on her hands and knees in front of him. His face instantly went even more blank than it had been previously as he watched her crawl around on the ground, furiously sweeping her hands around on the ground.
“ Did you…lose something?” If it had been any more obvious, it would have smacked him in the face ( or stabbed him in the stomach ), but he just didn’t quite know what to say. The whole thing was just an awkward situation all around and as she searched on the floor, all he could do was just absently shuffle his feet and twitch his fingers, watching her. He was completely torn between the desire to stay out of whatever insaneness was going through her head and wondering if he should get down there and offer to help her. “ I don’t believe in luck.” It was true. Things happened or they didn’t. There wasn’t any mysterious force of the universe controlling what happens…it just did. And if it didn’t, it didn’t. That was a rather sad way to live his life, now that he thought about it, but it had worked for him for this long.
It was when she flipped back around and her gaze lingered on his midriff did he realize something was wrong. The way her eyes had widened made him slightly concerned, and he glanced down, seeing the needle protruding from him. He didn’t feel it, so he didn’t think it actually punctured his skin, but obviously she thought it had. It was then that a really evil thought nigged at the back of his brain and he suddenly doubled over, hands clutching his gut where the needle obviously stuck out from. All at once, he was making these positively pitiful moaning sounds, twisting his face into a mask of what looked like – he hoped – intense agony.
Served her right for practically shivving him in the kidney.

"Well then what do you believe in when you—" Jenna did get to finish, because the sight of Kaius doubling in agony threw her expression even wider. Both hands lifted to pressed against her gaping mouth. Oh shards. Oh shards. What was she suppose to do!? Crap. Oh crap. This was why she hadn't done well in the Healer Hall, they said she didn't have enough control on her emotional reactions. Jenna's green eyes flew around the hall, wishing for a miracle - like a healer standing right there and then so she didn't have to deal with this.
Edging forward on her knees, Jenna reached up to pluck the needle out. "Well don't panic! That will only make it worse!" Oh wait, she wasn't suppose to remove the items that had done puncture wounds. Jenna blinked at the needle, almost giving in to the urge to stab it back into Kaius in her moment of inner flailing. "Just hold still okay? I'm going to help." There was something she was suppose to remember about asking the injured person if she could help them, but that just sounded silly. She reached for his hands, pushing them away enough from the spot to lift his shirt up and.. see the tiny little pin-prick of blood. Jenna didn't know what she had been expecting – a river of blood that she wouldn't be able to stop? Lips pursing, Jenna's narrowing eyes rose to Kaius's face. "You liar."
She jumped to her feet, aiming a jab at Kaius's side. "And such a pussy-cat too!"
Here she had been concerned for his well being. Just like one of her brothers - playing a trick on her to get her all stirred up and then just laugh. Oh he was so getting a beating for it (nevermind that Jenna couldn't hit worth a damn, nor did she really try to hurt the boy. Still, it felt better to thwack him for the horrible joke).
