You're stupid. Yes. And slow. I know. And- I get the idea!
A mental snort was the only reply from the dragon that perched and flaunted her newly oiled hide on the infirmary ledge, but that was too much of a response for her mindmate's liking. Tanith tended to reflect Aliscia's moods and thoughts better than the greenrider often predicted, and too often, the green said what needed to be said and not wanted to be heard. The critical and scathing words the grouchy green was inflicting on Hers were only a taste of what was to come, a fact that Aliscia acknowledged with some reluctant acceptance. Rare was it that she wanted to hear the criticism but often was it needed.
Today was one of those days.
Of course, Aliscia's reason for even entering the infirmary was a far cry from the reason her mindmate was snarking at her with typical disdain. It was a place she hated for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was that it smelled funny and set her on edge. Her clothes were not particularly nice or neat, particularly since a few oil marks on her shirt were being punctuated by the spreading crimson stains along her right side and arm. Holding a towel to the back of her arm was staunching most of the new blood, but the initial flow had ruined her shirt and likely her pants before Aliscia even realized that the stinging pain went together with the metallic smell and dripping wet feeling along her arm. Were it not on the back of her upper arm, the gouge--a most generous gift from a nasty river rock--would have been easily treatable. However, Aliscia lacked a long neck and spare hand to look at the wound and tend to it herself.
Thus, she was dodging apprentices in the infirmary.
Faranth, I'm not that small! she grumbled to Tanith as she skittered to avoid another taller person rushing by, their face buried behind some healing scroll or another. It did occur to her that she might have been too far below their eye level to register, but really, did they have to keep near-stampeding her? She tried to glance at the towel she held firmly to the wound, wrinkling her nose at the realization that the blood was starting to seep through. Shardit. She was going to have to snag someone fairly soon before it turned into a mess.
The woman irritably tossed her wet hair--it was getting just a bit too long for her liking--from her face, blowing at one stubborn strand in a gesture that was the very epitome of futility. As if it would deign to move. Really. She spied healer knots and made for the wearer, increasing the pressure on the wound in what would probably become a moot point in a moment. "Hate to interrupt, but I'm about to bleed all over your floor. I can't treat it myself, or I would," she added, rocking a bit on her feet as a brief moment of lightheadedness came and went. That was unpleasant. "I've had pressure on it since it happened, but it's bleeding through. Didn't think it was that deep...."

"No. Nuisance, tell him to stay still." Flicking his frill up to catch the flitter's attention the Salamandyr crooned before chattering to it. Normally, the blue wouldn't be helping so willingly, but his Humanpet had given him a sparkly earlier and therefore he was rewarded with a happy mood. Meanwhile, E'rro tied of the last of the stitches that went into the little Firelizard's wing. The silly beast had gotten himself injured during a mating flight. Cleaning around the now closed tear, the Brownrider gently closed the flitter's wing and handed him off to his rather anxious owner. "Come back in a seven day to get his stitches out." The instructions had become an almost automatic response. "If there is swelling, puss, or the wings becomes hot around the stitching come back as soon as you notice and we will treat for infection." Pushing away from the table he had been working at, E'rro offered his Mandyr a hand and made sure the Blue was in place on his shoulder before searching for more work. It was annoying how many junior apprentices he got stuck with today, it wasn't even his normal shift. He had been asked to cover some other Dragonhealer's hours in addition to his own, though being the silent worker he was, did not ask after the condition of the woman.
Washing his hands in a solution of redwort, he wrinkled his nose at the smell. Out of all of the herbery they had in the Infirmary, redwort was still the top contender in his list of dislikes. But it was necessary so he put up with it, like he aways did. Mineface. Littlehealers miss. "Miss what?" Miss lady. "What lady?" Ladysmall, ladythere. He was about to move over to her when one of the younger apprentices, for some reason they all liked to ask questions at the worst times, stopped him. A quick, brief glare and an equally brief answer later, he turned and almost ran into the woman he had seen only moments before. It was Aliscia of Tanith. They used to serve under Ka'rys, before the change up of wings. "To a bed, before you pass out. Follow, me please." Despite being a Dragonhealer, he had done his fair share of stitching up humans during the last Siege. It was about all he was actually allowed to do (other than help deal with basic ailments such as the sniffles and headaches) in the area of humanhealing.
He crossed over to the Human half of the infirmary, where they had most of the cots laid out in rows. Moving next to the closest examination table, he made a gesture to it. He had decided that he would have her perch there so that when he removed the towel, none of the blood would get on the cots. She'd be able to rest in a cot after he had addressed her wound. "Sit here... please." His bedside manner with humans had improved greatly, but he still had problems. "Can you tell me what happened, Greenrider?" Listening for the story as he flagged down a boy with an armfull of towels, he snatched a few before dismissing the boy with another gesture. Placing a new towel on the bench for her to exchange the old one with when he was done inspecting the wound, the Brownrider hesitated for a breif moment. Faranath he hated having to touch people. "Let me see your arm."

Well, she had been hoping for a healer, but a dragonhealer was really better than nothing. This one, at least, was familiar to her. Dangerous, but familiar. The smell of redwort filled her nostrils, making her nose wrinkle up in such a fashion that relayed her acknowledgment of the scent. A few people came between her and the man before he could respond to her, and she sincerely wished that the delay had not been such. The adrenaline of the moment of injury was rapidly passing to the point that she was beginning to feel the pain that much more acutely, a pulsing throb at the back of her upper arm. It was beginning to burn in places too, and Aliscia had a brief thought that perhaps her arm was on fire. But no, that was simply the pain talking.
PrettyBlue. came a sudden broadcast from the little green head that poked its way from Aliscia’s shirt. The salamandyr had been hiding in her humanpet’s breastband, quivering with nervousness, but now was the time to make herself known. Snot crawled to Aliscia’s good shoulder, clinging to the fabric there and flaring out her frill in a gesture of both concern and imperious demand. PrettyBlues good. Red badbad. Make g’way. Not like.
“Bed… all right.” That seemed an easy enough suggestion to follow, and the little woman inclined her head once in understanding as she trailed after the healer, grimacing as she slightly shifted the towel to, presumably, better cover the flowing wound. That, of course, caused an increase in pain which she was prepared for and promptly ignored as best she could. No use in making a spectacle of herself, after all. “I was at the river. Bathed and oiled Tanith. Dried off, got dressed, slipped and fell on this arm and shoulder. I thought it was just bruised, but… bruises don’t generally bleed like streams.” Sure, she was trying to be slightly funny. It kept her from howling in outrage and pain at her own ineptitude. Hmph.
It took effort to squirm herself up onto the examining table without the use of either hand. Obviously, the infirmary had not been designed with the vertically challenged in mind, but she voiced no protests. The greenrider flicked a half-smile at her former wingmate, watching as he procured new towels for their use. “It was a rock that did it. Went through my sleeve. Starts up near my shoulder and runs down the back of my arm, though I don’t know how close to my elbow it ends. Can’t see it,” she explained, reading his hesitation as a reluctance to get near the seeping wound. A squeamish healer? That was amusing. Perhaps he preferred his patients not be able to talk back. “I’ll take the towel off, but you’d better be ready with another one. It’s messy.” It was, thus, with great reluctance that she pulled the pressure off it, immediately snorting at the feel of wetness along her arm. Disgusting…

Noworryno Greenling. Nuisance flicked up his own frill as he was spoken to, not necessarily liking the demanding tone that was mixed in there. But he had the good sense not to comment on it. Crawling across E'rro's shoulders to the one that was closest to the other Salamandyr, the Blue crooned. Minegood. Muchpractice. Fixyes. Noworryno.
When she removed the towel the Brownrider twitched an eyebrow up but said nothing, carefully grabbing her elbow so he could manipulate her arm for a better look. Using his other hand, E'rro moved the torn ends of the sleeve away from the gash. She was right, it did start near her shoulder though it ended about four inches above her elbow. "Fortunately the rock decided to spare you. Any deeper an it might have cut an artery. Though in my opinion, I believe the rock won." Picking up the towel he had lain a side, the Brownrider pressed it firmly against her gash. "Press hard like before and lift your arm above your head, and if you can remove your arm from the sleeve please do so. I will return shortly." Picking himself up from the stool he had been sitting on, E'rro left the exam table for a few moments as he collected what he would need to stitch Aliscia's arm. If she wasn't able to take her arm out of her sleeve, he would cut the sleeve off for her. Returning with a tray, he scooted his stool closer before putting it down beside the Greenrider.
"I don't know how much blood you've lost, so I will have to work quickly. It also means I can't give you a pain reliever until I've stitched your arm up." He glanced at her as he popped off the caps of the jars on his tray. "I'm sure you can handle it." Dipping a soft cloth in the largest jar, E'rro squeezed out some of the redwort solution and put the towel down before returning his attention on the Greenrider. "Your arm... if you please. This will hurt, if there isn't debris in the wound it will only sting." He wasn't going to say might or may, because it would. He was pretty sure the Greenrider would prefer the truth to the coddling answers that he had to give to more openly sensitive patients.

Whether it was the fact that the other salamandyr was polite, was helpful, or was simply a blue, Snot’s frill settled itself back down. Her pudgy body was pressed against the side of her humanpet’s neck, eyes whirling with obvious concern at Aliscia’s pain. Pain was bad, but, clearly, the blue and his pet were going to fix Hers up in no time at all. This was all very good, and the salamandyr emphasized this by commenting to all present. NicePrettyBlues. All fix better. Snot like. It was important that she approved, after all, and the fact that the pretty blue crooned at her made her that much happier. She did spare a glance at a passing person and tossed out an obligatory broadcast of Asshat! She didn’t like that random stranger.
Snot seemed absorbed in making nice and mean at once, which was something of a relief for Aliscia. Tanith’s growing concern was echoing in the back of her mind and making the greenrider that much more anxious, but Snot’s distraction was making it easier to keep from getting overwhelmed. Just a scrape, just a scrape… it was nothing life-ending.
When E’rro began to manipulate her arm, the greenrider turned her head to watch, the set of her jaw the only indication of the discomfort she was experiencing. She usually did her own bandaging if she could manage it, so watching the healers work always made her feel better, even if it did feel shardblasting awful. “The rock… most certainly won. This round.” The studied evenness of her tone was an attempt to mask the discomfort that began to rise again when he pressed another towel to her arm. Ouch. “Will try,” she replied to him grimly, lifting the wounded arm and applying the necessary pressure to keep it from seeping everywhere. What a mess…
By the time the healer returned, Aliscia had discovered that the sleeve could not be removed without the use of at least one unhindered hand. She had also discovered that the room was not entirely steady around her, which made her sit very still in an attempt to keep from falling over. Faceplanting on the floor was a poor way to get started on the healing process. “Sorry. Can’t get it off,” she muttered to the brownrider in reference to her sleeve, rolling her eyes when Snot made another degrading comment to a passerby. “I can take it. Just…” How much to tell him, was the question. “… I’m about… ten sevendays pregnant. Think it’d be best if we just avoid the pain relievers.” She moved the arm back toward him, offering up a faint smirk that demonstrated more confidence in her pain tolerance than she really felt. “Go for it. I’ll watch.”
No, of course she wasn’t paranoid…

I Nuisance. We fix. He rose onto his hind legs and twitched his tail. The little Blue was confident that his Humanpet would make the Greenling's Humanface better. He made dragons better and they were many times bigger than humans. No problem!
"Its fine." Using one of the smaller knives that he had placed on the tray, E'rro used it to remove the sleeve entirely. Blood soked and already torn, he assumed that Aliscia was going to throw it away anyways. Looking up at her face, the Brownrider frowned slightly. She looked faint. And the news about her being pregnant made him even more eager to finish patching her up. Crossing to the other side of the table so that he could get at her arm better, E'rro silently told Nuisance to get off his shoulder. Removing the towel he cleaned the wound as gently as he could before pressing a new towel against the gash. Next came the numbweed, applied to the very edges of the wound. He let it take effect before whiping off the excess and picking up his suturing instument. He paused a moment as he pressed the needle against her skin. "Are you sure you want to watch?" Although he didn't wait for her response, and in went the needle.
Tie. Snip. Thread. Tie. Snip. He adjusted his body depending on where the edges of the wound were, it wasn't exactly a straight up and down cut. Occasionally dabbing some of the blood away, E'rro worked as quickly but as carefully as he could. He was starting to wish that one of the older Healers had been around to deal with this. "Tell me..." Snip. "... how is Tanith? She must be..." Tie. "... amused at your poor choice of opponents." Two more and he was done, allowing him to put down the slightly curved needle. E'rro cleaned around her wound oncemore using the redwort solution and removed the blood that had dried on her arm. Starting slightly above the top Aliscia's injury, the Senior Apprentice began to wrap it with a bandage. "Almost done... I hope you don't have anything to do today."
See. We fix. Almost done. You human must rest. Get better, must rest. Bouncing across the table, he inspected the female Human and he shuffled his wings. She was lucky, she gets to sleep in the cots. His humanface wouldn't let him sleep in the cots, he said he scared people when he did that. Pillows were soft. But he listened to his Humanface and didn't sleep on them any more.

PrettyBlueNuisance. Snot was crooning with genuine affection, the pudgy little mandyr flicking her gaze between her humanpet and the blue as she clutched at the greenrider’s ear with one tiny forepaw. Her little tail attempted to curl around her pet’s neck and succeeded only in curving slightly around the body part. Being small was a disadvantage that she shared with her pet, and they commiserated on it quite often.
Her croons were at least a temporary distraction for the greenrider, who found herself feeling more than a little off balance and unsettled by the combination of pain and dizziness. Was she in shock, suffering from lightheadedness from blood loss? Aliscia thought this was entirely possible, but she opted to not think on it too hard for fear of giving herself the additional problem of a headache. She twitched another half-smile at her healer, jaw tensing at the discomfort caused by cleaning up the nasty wound. “Go ahead. Familiar with my own blood,” she murmured, unable to resist a small sigh of relief as the blessed numbweed he spread on the edges of the wound began to take effect. The pain receded at least partially, enough that the needle’s intrusion into her skin was pressure and tugging instead of piercing pain.
It was fascinating to watch him work, even if she could only see some of it from the odd angle. His question distracted her from the slight movement that the room seemed to be executing, her near-gold eyes flicking up at E’rro in a futile attempt to read his face. “She’s worried. And… grumpy. I think she might be slightly amused at my clumsiness,” the greenrider replied dryly, rolling her eyes skyward in obvious exasperation. That action made her more disoriented, though, and she wobbled dangerously for a brief instant, forced to clutch the edge of the bed with one hand to keep from falling over. It passed too slowly for her liking, and even a quick shake of her head did little to dispel the fuzziness that was impinging on her consciousness. Bother.
“Anything… to…?” Anything to do? What a ridiculous statement. How could she have nothing to do?! “Take care of a kid, clean up my weyr, make sure my weyrmate eats… my work never ends,” she commented in quiet amusement, though she became aware that her chuckles were sounding more like mildly insane cackles. Blood loss made her loopy, did it? Who knew? “Honestly, how bad is it? Not that bad? Just… messy?” She had no time or energy for debilitating injuries. Her hand freed itself from its death grip to stroke Snot, the greenrider snorting in amusement as Snot continued to croon in the direction of the blue salamandyr. “Nuisance, hmm? I think she likes him. You have your own wing now, don’t you?” It had just occurred to her, and she wondered if there was something wrong with her brain. Had she hit her head? No, she hadn’t, but it was still an amusing thought. “How’s that treating you?” Because it was easier to think about that than the room moving around her.

He finished wrapping her arm and attached the free end to the rest of the bandage with a bit of ging glue. Crossing around to the front of Aliscia, E'rro frowned slightly as she laughed maybe a little more than she had wanted to. He crouched slightly and studied her face... he needed to lay her down. Whether or not she could make it to the nearest cot was the problem. "The wound is not too bad, I didn't see a trace of infection and you will have a scar." He paused as he removed his tray and cleaned the table off. "You are unfortunately, not going anywhere for the next few hours. You've lost more blood than I thought, and until the room does not spin, you're going to be under observation." He was going to send a messenger to one of the Healers, probably sooner rather than later.
He frowned again as the Greenrider brought up his newest promotion. No one so far had asked him about it, which had been a relief. "I prefer being a wingsecond." It was more about the wing reminding him of the Weyrling Wing he had served on at Benden, despite the Riders being in and around their twenties and most having at least a little experience under their belts. He wouldn't admit it, but he preferred serving rather than having to lead. "Lets see if you can walk over to the cots." He offered his arm for the Greenrider to grab onto if she needed help getting down. With his free hand he waved another person over and spoke quietly to her, nodding as she correctly repeated what he wanted before scurrying off to make it. He glanced back at Aliscia and added, "We'll take it slow. If we can't make it, I'll get you a pillow and a blanket for the exam table."
He preened. Nuisance liked being called pretty by a Green, suddenly happy that he had made his Human oil him the night before. The Blue was still clean because he hadn't been creeping around in the dust for shinies recently.

“No infection… that sounds positive. I can live with a scar. New addition to the collection.”
Perhaps Aliscia should not have been quite so amused at her own misfortune, but being entertained was a far cry better than just weeping or whining or bemoaning her unfortunate turn of circumstances. No, better to laugh at them until the numbweed wore off and the exhaustion from the added blood loss began to tax her already-limited energy reserves. Still, she had missed the arteries, which she supposed was a stroke of luck in her favor. Her weyrmate was going to have a comment to make, she was sure. Or… perhaps he would just shake his head at her. Maybe both.
E’rro seemed to be studying her, another fact which Aliscia found endlessly amusing. Still, her cackles had been reduced to more subdued giggles by now, so hopefully he was not considering her in danger of losing her ability to think. No, she was sane. It wasn’t until he announced that she was stuck in the infirmary for a short time that she actually began to pay attention to what he was saying, her light eyes widening to betray her utter dismay at that tiny detail. “The room isn’t really spinning,” she suggested, wrinkling up her nose as she heard the note of whining in her own voice. That line of persuasion was out. Even a child could hear the half-lie in that statement. The room was spinning badly enough to make her wobble as her good arm curled around E’rro’s, her hand encircling his wrist for security as she eased her body up and her feet onto the floor.
“Not so bad,” she muttered, grateful that the nausea was subsiding a bit with the pain relief that the numbweed offered. Her injured arm tucked itself in to her side, and she took careful, measured steps toward the cots, leaning on the brownrider’s arm with each motion. “Thanks for… patching me up. Don’t worry about the wing. You’re not… half so brainless as some of our bronzeriders. You’ll do fine.” Why she was attempting to reassure him was beyond her immediate knowledge to understand. On a personal level she had no issue with him, but neither did she like him a great deal. He was competent enough, and that meant he was made of decent stuff as far as leading a wing, which was probably why she thought he could not fail miserably at the job. Unfortunately, him being competent meant he was observant, which would present a problem as far as escaping. Her gaze flicked to the door, considering. Was it worth it to wait for his back to turn…?
LovelyMine want leave. SillyMine. Snot observed in what could only have been considered a droll fashion, sniffing primly at the terrible look she received from her humanpet. Nuisance help? Sit on Mine. Make stay. Not want more red. Obviously, if PrettyHers had two salamandyrs sitting on her, leaving and being silly would be impossible, wouldn’t it? Snot felt so. PrettyNuisanceBlue smart. Indeed, he was. Such a nice clever blue. That meant he would help, she reasoned.

"Yes. You seem completely fine..." When she was ready, E'rro helped her cross the distance between the table and the cot, his solid steps matching pace with hers. The side of his mouth twitched up in a slight smile when Aliscia started to try and reassure him about his new position, noting that the blood loss was making her more lucid than he had remembered her being in their old wing. It was amusing, since he had pegged her as a hardass in his mind. Maybe appearances were deceiving, or maybe they weren't, in the infirmary everything became Chaos. "I'd be poisoned by my Journeymen if I had let one of our experienced Riders die from a cut." Leading her to the cot, the Brownrider pulled back the furs with one hand so that she could get into it easily.
No leave, bad. More sickhurt if do. Nuisance help yes. He bobbed his head sharply, his Humanpet would be angry if the Greenrider scuttled off without his knowledge. He would not necessarily sit on the Greenling's Human, but he would help watch. Unless his needed him for something, then he would have to leave to help make Mandyrs and kin not hurt. His didn't need help with Dragons, he had the Brownmonster for that. Nuisance was too small to help with the Big ones. No run away, we watch carefulcareful.
As soon as he got her settled and after he gave his Salamandyr a strange look as the Blue leapt off of his shoulder, E'rro crossed his hands behind his back and flexed them quietly. "I will be right back, so just... relax." Leaving the Greenrider to her cot, he wound his way through the bustle, found the nearest wash station and scrubbed at his skin. He let the disgust that he had been suppressing wash over his face without reserve. Touching other people was something he was loathe to do, only in emergencies and medical situations did he push past his adverseness. For a while at least. He used the Redwart solution until he could no longer feel the contact he had gone through. At least no one could ever claim his hands weren't sterile. Drying off, he searched out the girl he had spoken to earlier, letting his face fall back into its normal routine.
Pacing quietly back to the cot, though nearly having to jump over another Apprentice who had tripped right in front of him, E'rro sighed angrily. Once the obstacle had cleared himself out of the way, the Senior Apprentice finished the trek back to Alisica. Offering the cup he had in his hand, E'rro gave her a small reassuring smile. "Its Thyme tea, with Ginko and Rosemary extract. It will help rebuild your blood and fight off infection. It does... taste interesting though." He placed it on the small table next to her head, as long as she drank it he'd leave it up to her when. Moving to the foot of her cot, he took out the small hide chart, fished out a charcoal and began writing down the info needed to fill the chart out. As an afterthought, he added out loud, "Do you have any questions?"

He was too sharding observant for her purposes.
Aliscia was silently cursing whatever circumstances had made her so gifted with a tendency to hurt herself by accident, especially as she saw the tiny twitch at one side of the brownrider’s mouth. She should have been insulted that he was laughing at her, but… since she was laughing at herself in addition to cursing her unlucky stars, it seemed inappropriate to be upset about this small fact. At his admission that the more senior healers would have his hide for letting her die, though, the greenrider could not help but chuckle darkly at the thought that crossed through her mind.
“Oh, yes… can’t let the competent ones die on you,” she mused, easing herself down onto the cot and sighing in frustration as she stared down at her clothes. Disgusting. Filthy. Ruined. There was just no way the blood was coming out of that fabric. “Thank you anyway.” Now there existed the small issue of explaining to her weyrmate that no, she did not have a death wish, and no, she had not gotten into a fight again. Her gaze drifted curiously over the brownrider’s peculiar hand motions, and then she nodded once, indicating that she understood as he disappeared to go… do whatever it was that was so urgent.
“Men…” she grumbled beneath her breath, attempting to settle herself comfortably back on the pillows and succeeding only in making herself dizzy and dislodging Snot from her perch. Not good. Her good hand levered up her upper body, maneuvering herself around to recline back against the headboard with some small difficulty. There, that was better. At least it gave her a better vantage point from which to watch the hustle and bustle going on around her, which was a nice distraction from the pain in her arm and the fuzziness in her head.
On her shoulder, Snot continued to lavish Aliscia’s ear with affection, licking and snuggling the lobe with such enthusiasm that the greenrider had a sudden fleeting thought that perhaps the salamandyr was in love with it. Or perhaps she had picked up on the ear fixation that her humanpet exhibited. Who knew? “Stop fussing, you,” she chuckled, raising an eyebrow at the brownrider as he returned. “Tea…? If I have to,” she grumbled, though her hand picked up the cup and brought it to her lips anyway. One sip was enough to indicate compliance for the moment, and one sip was all she would take. Escaping was out. Snot had recruited assistance.
Questions? Oh, she had plenty. “How long do I have to stay? And… I know I didn’t lose that much blood, so the baby should be fine,” she stated with almost studied casualness, an air of almost indifferent curiosity that would have been perfect in its delivery were it not for the fixation of her eyes on the healer’s face. Paranoia and worry were hard habits to break. “And when do I need to get these stitches out, or can I just pull them out myself in a sevenday or two?”

"You do. For the next few days as well." He flipped over the first hide and checked off a few things on the second before signing the third. He hated paperwork. "Just for an hour or two, so you can regain strength and the healers can watch for infection." He paused and looked up over the top of the hides. "But I am going to suggest to ground you for a few days. Which means no wing training, or any strenuous activity that could rip those stitches out. But whether or not you are, will be up to the Weyrhealer." Checking the charts through once more, adding a note about the Greenrider's pregnancy before nodding slightly and tucking them away in their pouch. "Your baby should be fine." But he didn't know for sure, he wasn't a human healer and he normally didn't pay attention when the midwifery stuff was flying around. When Kalierre or another experienced healer came back later for the next shift, he'd have them check Aliscia over more deeply. Offering his hand out for Nuisance, the Brownrider watched the Blue scamper up to his shoulder before he answered her next question.
"I'd rather you didn't pull them out yourself. They're in a spot where you could cause more harm than good taking them out." Rip yucky scab. Open wound, more ties in arm. More blood, bad. "Nuisance is right. Strangely. If the scab that forms gets ripped off, the wound will take longer to heal." He prodded the Mandyr in annoyance, he didn't need a little bug telling the Greenrider what he was going to say. "Seeing how deep and how big the wound is... I would estimate five days. Sooner if you think its developed an infection. Of course, you're going to be given another check over before you're allowed to leave. The attending Healer will give you the proper estimation and the delicious tea packets and extracts."
Mineface. Have shiny? He perked a questioning eyebrow at his Mandyr. Me give Greenling and Greenling's humanface. Candy. He puzzled over what Nuisance told him, it took him a few moments to realize what he meant. Fishing out a small, shiny rock E'rro passed it to the Blue. Healers often gave children small candies for being good, apparently Nui thought that everyone deserved something. "Do you want me to send a message to anyone?"
Skittering back down off of His's body, the male leapt onto the cot and crawled over to and tentatively onto Aliscia's good shoulder, the polished rock held fast in his mouth. Shiny for human being goodness. Pretty Greenling keep safe for her Human?

Had Aliscia possessed enough energy to swear, she would have done so in such a loud and explicit fashion as to be forcibly expelled from the infirmary simply for disturbing the peace. All somewhat-dainty appearances aside, the little woman had quite the sailor mouth on her when the moment called for it, probably a leftover of growing up in a hold on the sea. But such a string of expletives would have required energy to both think of and vocalize, and after carefully weighing the options for a brief moment, she opted for quiet grumblings interspersed between sips of the tea. Disgusting. How did people drink some of this?
“Fine, no strenuous activity. I’ll talk to my wingleader.” Her weyrmate, really, but that was a note best not added. A lack of physical activity meant that she would be irritable within a day or two, and he would probably be happy to leave her in bed and not deal with her for the entirety of a day. She would be hard-pressed to blame him, she thought with some small measure of amusement, watching the blue salamandyr take up his rightful place on the brownrider’s shoulder. Helpful little things, weren’t they?
The greenrider shifted slightly in irritation and discomfort but otherwise did not fight the instructions given her for the stitches. The expression of reluctance and annoyance faded only momentarily when Nuisance interrupted, a brief spark of amusement dancing in her eyes before it faded back into the realm of unhappiness. It was a gift, really, hurting herself so well. Not many people could mess their bodies up so thoroughly. “Tea. My favorite. I am allowed to add sweetener or something to it, right?” she asked, distastefully eyeing the cup that was slowly being drained of its contents. If she had to drink more, it needed sweetening to be palatable. “Think I can follow those directions. Hope there’s no infection, though,” was her sly addition, a faint smirk twisting up one corner of her mouth. “It’d look bad for your healing skills.
She couldn’t resist teasing him, if only because it kept her from focusing on the intense throbbing in her arm. Her eyelids fluttered delicately shut for a moment, only opening again at his query so she could shake her head in a quick negative. “No… no messages. My weyrmate is busy.” He would not appreciate the interruption for something non-life-threatening either. “I’ll just… wait until your back is turned and sneak out.” Wait… had she said that out loud?
She had.
Keep safe will. Pretty shiny. NicePrettyBlue best.Snot was busy crooning affectionately at Nuisance as the blue salamandyr joined her. The little creature had not an inkling of interest in the shiny itself and was more interested in lavishing attention on the other salamandyr, perching on her humanpet’s shoulder and cuddling up to the blue with great enthusiasm. The green ignored the fact that Hers laughed at her. What did that matter anyway? LovelyMine not good. Still want run. Silly LovelyMine is. Should stay with BlueYours. BlueYours very nice...

(Would you like to go on? Or shall we end it around this point? :3 )
"Yes, you can add the sweeteners." Folding his arms behind his back, E'rro watched his Mandyr interact with Aliscia's. The Brownrider's eyes flicked over to her face when she commented on infections, nodding lightly. It was true after all. If she developed an infection while in the infirmary, he would be the one to blame. Only one of his Dragon and dragonlike patients had ever gotten one, and they had rolled in mud. He highly doubted the Greenrider would get her arm dirty enough to allow infection to set, she seemed like the type of person to have suffered stitches before. He had little worry other than her accidentally tearing them out. "Alright, no messages." She'd probably be able to leave the infirmary before she was missed too greatly, Aliscia could be her own messanger.
E'rro lifted an eyebrow as she spoke of her plans to escape, it was an amusing thought. "Generally, for that to work. You don't tell the person you're hoping to sneak away from, that you are going to try." Now that he knew, he'd have some of the younger apprentices watch her. He might even let Nuisance stay and watch her, the Blue was a great alarm system. He could be loud if he wanted to be. "I suggest, you take a nap. Once you wake up, I'm rather confident the next shift will have come and you can ask to be discharged." And he was ready for that shift change. He'd been on shift for about eight candle marks straight. He was not R'wign, he wasn't used to the consecutive hours. E'rro wished he could take a nap, the prospect didn't seem like a bad idea to him. Maybe he could find a broomcloset somewhere and hole himself up for half a candle mark or so. "But finish your tea first." A pause then, "Nui go a head and stay. You look comfortable." He turned to hide a smirk, before walking off. One of the other apprentices was waving frantically at him, asking him in a not so subtle way to come over to help her.
Ermine nice cause he fix. When no fix he growly. Lovelyyours no leave. No worryworry. Eyes everywhere. Nuisance crooned as Snot cuddled up next to him. He trilled happily as his Ermine said he could stay with the Greenling. See. I help watch. No go 'way. Fix better faster yes. He was glad to help, plus, the Greenrider's shoulder was comfortable to lay on. If she tried to get away he'd know for sure!
