It was a rest day, and she really intended to enjoy it, she really did. Throwing caution to the wind, she had let herself grow lenient with Cotton today, allowing her, her primary rest spot(which was turning very awkward since Cotton found the fact that Rosanna had built in pillows quite convenient) and also allowing Cotton to poke her head out from the low cut tunic whenever she felt like. No, Rosa wasn't showing off cleavage, it was just low enough for Cotton to poke her head out, thanks.
It had been so long since she had actually been allowed to sketch, or just sit down and draw something that, that is exactly what she decided to do on her rest day and so off she went, trotting across the Weyrbowl and hoping the even though Cotton would poke her head out every once and a while, no one would recognize a mandyr, or a candidate with a mandyr and would simply assume her head was a green little accessory that Rosanna had tacked onto her shirt. The particular spot Rosa was headed for, was the lovely little cavern lake in the Weyrbowl, not only would it make a good subject to sketch, but it was the perfect spot to hide in the shadows and sketch the passerby's.
No. She wasn't a creeper. She just liked drawing random strangers.
About half way to the little lake, she though she heard her name called, turning to peer behind her into the bustling weryfolk without slowing her pace, a startled cheep was all the warning she had before she felt herself collide with something rather solid.
Cotton took refuge down in her hiding place, once again thanking the great 'mandyr mother for the wonderful built in pillow Hers had, before buckling down to out wait whatever storm was brewing. Whether there was a storm coming from the man(for indeed, Cotton realized it was of the male counterpoint of humans) remained to be seen, but since Hers was just thrown on her butt, there was one coming from Rosa. Granted, it was sad she was thrown to the ground by a shorter human, but considering her pace not surprising. Cotton was actually rather curious to see if the man had with stood the impact better than Hers.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" Rosa snapped, rubbing her aching tail bone and cursing the extra weight the was Cotton. Not like it did much. Oh Rosa, did she care that she was the one not looking where she was going? No, because she was irritable something so dimglowed had interrupted her rest day and like Shells she was going to admit she ruined her own rest day. Unless it was shoved in her face of course.

Getting up at a decent time was overrated.
To be fair, falling asleep had taken a while, and T’san was distracting, so. It wasn’t actually his fault (except for the part where it totally was) that he was late getting down to breakfast, sans a T’san who was even lazier than he was. A’emi was pretty sure he was enabling his weyrmate’s laziness actually, seeing how he’d promised to bring breakfast back up for him, but whatever. At least he wasn’t entirely alone; Darkling was off being the smallest cutest monster on Pern, but Titania had draped herself over one shoulder, her tail trailing down his back and her forepaws hooked over his collarbone, the Salamandyr purring low in her throat.
He could only really tell because she was vibrating, and it tickled. “Can you stop,” A’emi demanded, slowing to a halt to twist to squint down his nose at her and twisting to clamp one hand over her body. “You—”
Which was when somebody plowed directly into him, because apparently changing directions was just too challenging a concept to grasp. Titania made a sound very much like a squeak, eyes going yellow in alarm as she recoiled to slip down the back of his shirt in a flash of wings and tail, and A’emi stumbled backwards, nearly elbowing a passing man in the gut and earning a wide-eyed startled look that melted into an irritated scowl. A’emi glared back, and finally focused on the girl on the ground a few feet away, Titania crawling back up to his shoulder to tilt her head curiously at her.
The snapped accusation made him raise an eyebrow in dry disapproval, and A’emi deliberately hooked his thumbs into his own belt loops instead of offering her a hand up. Even if it was a reflexive thing, there was no call for it. It wasn’t like he was tripping over himself to apologize to someone with an attitude like that, obviously she had better things to do and so did he. “Hard to,” he answered, dry as dust, “Since I wasn’t going at all. Your apology is accepted. I’m glad you’ll make sure you keep your eyes where they’re supposed to be from here on out, that’s a very admirable sacrifice you’re making for the sake of your own ass.”
Oh love, Titania purred in amused indulgence, the green’s eyes shading into blues as she peered down at Rosa, Surely you have better manners than that.
A’emi frowned slightly. I really don’t, he corrected, but he tilted his head at Rosa anyway, offering a decidedly tacked-on, belated, “You okay?”
Since, you know, he supposed that he sort of had knocked her down (even if he had no idea how; she had to have at least four inches on him and he wasn’t exactly built like a wall here). Go figure. If T’san complained at him about being slow, he’d just get toast thrown at him, this wasn’t even his fault. He just had terrible luck, something A’emi had already come to acknowledge with a minimum of grace.

All she did. Was narrow her eyes. Yes, it was her fault. Yes she had gotten distracted while walking, but was she going to admit that? Shardtucking no. Especially not after that little tirade. Though in retrospect she had to admit, she probably would have admired this guy more had she met him on better terms. Anyone that can bust out a tirade like that, deserves some admiration, and was even getting some grudging respect from the girl on the ground.
Also in retrospect, how on Pern did she get knocked over by that, that, midget! (Good thing she didn't say that out loud.) Though now she thought about it, it had been a bit like hitting a short, yet solid wall. Mm. Let's not say that out loud either. Oh wait. She's Rosa.
"You realize you're like a stone wall right?" she stated bluntly, raising a brow at him. No proper apology, no whoops didn't see you there(though she's tempted to use that one because it leads to short jokes), nada. Just. Wall. Cotton sent a reproving thought to Rosa, still hidden in her little hideaway. Rosanna was lucky Titania had already spoken to the man before her little comment had slipped out. Pulling herself to her feet before he could decide to kick in the face for that comment, she peered back at him and... wow. He was short. Now both brows were raised.
She brushed off her rump before answering his question, the light apologetic note in her voice the only hint he would get at a real one, because yea. Cotton could just make her feel guilty like that, and she was stubborn enough not to give a blunt apology, "I'm fine."
Cotton, for her part, decided to make the situation more awkward, apparently, and now that obvious danger was gone, she poked her head out of Rosa's shirt, her adorable little 'mandyr head that Rosa could just squish, and chirped questioningly at Titania. There was no denying the fact that Rosanna's face went beat read as she tried to stay calm.

What.
A’emi’s expression flickered into confusion, the greenrider staring awkwardly at the girl sprawled on her butt in front of him with his head tilted to one side in bewilderment. Brow furrowed a minute later as she stood up and he crossed his arms instead of instinctively taking a step back. He was used to tall people, after all—or people taller than him, anyway, it wasn’t exactly a high order (har, har), but then again none of them had ever told him he was like a stone wall, probably because he wasn’t, unless she had a lot of experience with stone walls being short and lean with a penchant for good balance.
Her addendum made the greenrider roll his eyes dryly. “I can tell. And I’m not, by the way, you should really take a closer look at stone walls here on out. Or run into more of them, whichever helps more.” It wasn’t strictly sarcastic anymore; the softer tone of her voice eased away part of his own irritation. Just…he was completely stuck on that comment. What. Maybe she just had really crappy balance, because yeah, it hadn’t been a collision that was all fun and rainbows or anything but it hadn’t knocked him over, so.
Titania, for her part, was much more abruptly focused on Cotton. She was used to talking to other Salamandyrs, something which by necessity followed spotting them first, and Cotton’s helpful little chirp was hardly even necessary. The green hummed a soft greeting at Cotton, tilting her head at the smaller Salamandyr curiously. I trust you were not injured, she commented, peering out past A’emi’s shoulder, forepaws braced against his collarbone. I do apologize for A’emi; it’s lovely to make your acquaintance nonetheless, however. May I inquire as to your name?
Flawlessly polite, that was Titania, A’emi thought, vaguely disturbed, even when speaking at a girl’s boobs, because that wasn’t rude at all. At least he didn’t stare at Cotton, even if he automatically glanced down to find out who Titania was talking to, and when he flicked his gaze back up post haste he raised an eyebrow at Rosa, “That’s an attractive shade of red you’re going, what would you call that…brick, tomato, beet…?”
