Well, it was a whole new Weyr now in more ways than one. G'tor was very glad to have everyone back together again, but he was having more trouble adjusting than he'd expected. It wasn't that anything was bad, but he and Ruskeath had lived at the old Selenitas for more than ten turns now. Here, they had a Council, hidden waterfalls, and rumors of monsters lurking down below. Much really was the same, the same people, the same mission to protect Pern, and yet it was the changes that bothered him. He hadn't cared when Shmee had Impressed all those turns ago, but this Council would take a lot to get used too. At least no one expected him to be on it. He was just sorry not to be Mi'rah's second. They had worked together throughout the Wasteland takeover, and now they weren't even on the same wing.
Musing again, Tor-Mine? Ruskeath winged over head, and snatched a tasty herdebeast with a claw. His tail was about a foot shorter now, but it was more a vanity problem than anything since it had already been long. G'tor, on the other hand, had a number of nice new scars to show off from the earthquake, especially if he took off his shirt. Somehow, he looked and felt much older than he really was. A lot had happened in recent turns. He shrugged with a small smile. "At least it's peaceful at last," he pointed out with a restful sigh. Maybe he'd get time to go fishing later.

Aonith swooped low over the pens speculatively. She wasn't really hungry per se but she was restless and somewhat bored. Dorava had plenty to do, sure. But Aonith really didn't. And all this waiting around kept her a bit edgy. Spotting Ruskeath scooping up a beast for his breakfast, the old green banked hard and zoomed over toward him, wings half-folded. Canting over sideways she zipped past the bigger brown, stealing his catch right out of his claws.
Bugling a teasing note, Aonith flipped back over and headed for the sky, daring Ruskeath to get it back again. She really wasn't interested in eating it, but aggravating another dragon was worth the effort sometimes.
It wasn't until she heard Aonith's taunting cry that Dorava knew that the green was up to anything - mostly because she hadn't been paying any mind to what the dragon had been doing in favor of reading a scroll. Which quickly found itself rolled up and semi-crumpled into her pocket as she lit out at a run for the pens. All she could do was hope that Aonith wasn't picking on a grumpy dragon!!
When she reached the pen fence and hit it with both hands, leaning over the top rail, Dorava was quite relieved to not only recognize the other dragon in the air ... but also to know that Aonith probably wasn't going to end up starting a fight with him. But if Rusk was up there ... where was G'tor? She took a moment to catch her breath as she looked around for any sign of the brownrider.
Finally spying him, she got off the fence and walked at a more sedate pace in his direction, offering a small smile when she got close enough. "Well hello there. Didn't think I'd see you until drills." Dorava commented. She poked her hands into her pockets, only belatedly remembering that one pocket was already full when she crinkled the scroll up even worse by her fingers being jammed in on top of it.
Oh well ... at least it wasn't an important scroll. Some smoothing would save it, later.

Ruskeath had been looking forward to a nice peaceful breakfast. As such, he hadn't really expected quick claws to rob him of his meal so efficiently. Startled, he pulled up in mid air, but Aonith was already winging away. Oh she wanted a game, did she? Ruskeath chuckled low in his throat. He wasn't so old that he didn't enjoy a good sport, but Aonith bet not keep him hungry for long. Spreading his wings full, Ruskeath rose after the green. It is rude to take without asking, Aonith, he chimed playfully.
G'tor chuckled at the dragon's game in the sky, and wasn't surprised when Dorava arrived shortly after. "Don't tell me your sorry to see me?" he asked in mock dismay. "Am I such a harsh task master that you now fear my very presence?" His eyes twinkled merrily to show he didn't mean it one bit. If anything, he was more than happy to not be a wing leader anymore, though S'rei's methods would take getting used to.

Aonith bugled a laughing reply to the slower brown as she spiraled and looped around, twirling wing over wing a few times before doubling back and swirling around Ruskeath himself and diving back toward the ground again, his dinner still clutched in her talons, taunting him with it. Soon enough she would let him get it, but for right now she only wanted to play. Getting him to chase was the point, so she made sure to keep it far enough away to keep any lunging swerves away from the meaty morsel. Rude? Are you sure? Even if I yell 'surprise!'? she countered, highly amused colors swirling madly in her gaze as she swooped back upward again.
Dorava quirked a grin at G'tor for his comment, and shook her head. "No, I really detest seeing you so unexpletedly and so soon." She answered, playfully. "I am very sorry to see you! Of course! Goofy." Dorava closed the last of the distance, watched the dragons for a moment, and then smiled at G'tor. "And how have you been, oh harsh taskmaster?" She teased. She really was glad to see him ... relieved both to know that there was only a friend here and not a problem, but also just to see him. But that was probably something best not really alluded to, so she kept that under wraps.

Ruskeath knew it would be very hard to catch Aonith. She was smaller, faster, and more agile than him in every way. Yet he hadn't been training under Kierjaarth all this time for nothing. He twisted in the air, swiping his wings in quick movements to catch the smaller dragon off guard. Well now, he said ruefully. 'Surprise' is a different matter! He dropped as she did, hoping to trap her near the ground so he could free his meal from her clutches.
G'tor tried to frown and crossed his arms in a stern manner. "I could make you run laps for your mutinous behavior," he suggested crossly. Then he dissolved into chuckles, unable to keep up the pretense of 'harsh taskmaster' for more than a few seconds. "I'm good, honestly," he answered smiling. His gaze drifted to the dragons playing in the sky. "It's been so long since I've seen Rusk so relaxed, though he won't admit it."

Aonith bugled, and flared her wings all front, executing an almost complete stall in her forward motion. This allowed the bigger Brown to practically zip right past overhead, while she twisted about and started winging away in the other direction after having lost about a dragonlength in altitude for the trouble. She had been about ready to surrender his meal back to him, but after that stunt of his trying to trap her against the ground, she found herself unwilling to stop playing with his food just yet. Surprise! she practically giggled, cruising slowly for the moment to give him time to get himself sorted out and turned back around again. It was no fun to play by herself after all.
Dorava made a mock expression of disdain at the very idea of being forced to run laps for her cheek. But as G'tor laughed, so did she, her face busting into a broad grin. "I am glad to hear it. I have to say the same, too. It is good to see the dragons capable of relaxing again for once. All this angst going around gets so old after awhile. Maybe now, in our new home, things can go back to being some semblance of normal. How long do you think it will be before the North finds us here? From outside it's not hardly easily spotted, but if we're to get tithes every Hold will know where to find us. I hope they don't interrogate people for that."
