The first thing Sel’n was aware of upon waking was the feel of skin pressed close against his own. He groaned and tried to lift the heavy blanket off of himself. The brown rider snarled when it wouldn’t budge. Then suddenly the blanket lifted on it’s own and let in the harsh sunlight. Finally your awake. Are you ok? Be careful so you do not jostle your partner to much. The browns voice caused the rider to blink and groan again.
The blanket Sel’n had been trying to move had, in fact, been Kaaoloth’s wing. The brown flicked the wing back to his back and regarded his rider with one gently whirling eye. Sel’n looked up at the beast and slowly images of the run began to filter back to his brain. Kaaoloth helped by filling in some parts.
The brown had been hovering over the field since the run started, and had been totally willing to intervene if he was needed. However his rider’s safety had to come first and so he had left Saeo to the other human. The rider frowned and turned to look at his run lust partner. One of the candidates. Holy Faranth.
“You know there really should be rules as to who’s allowed to impress these little demons. Where’s Vanity? I really want to throttle her.” Sel’n growled quietly so as to not wake Lanthos. To late however as the boy was beginning to stir. Well this would be awkward.
The little sister is currently curled in the infirmary with her mate. You could throttle her but I doubt anyone at the infirmary is happy with you right now. The large brown lowered his head and crooned softly to Lanthos. Hopefully he wouldn’t react to badly.

His bed was unusually hard... and something was sticking uncomfortably in his back. Maybe Pep had hidden a bone under his mattress again. Oh, there was another sore spot. And another. Still mostly asleep, Lanthos tried to stretch a bit, his face turning down in a pert scowl as his sleep-filled mind wasn't able to understand the muscle deep pain he was feeling. It began to rouse him more, and he yawned on impulse before he realized that he was curled tightly into a warm.. something. Lanosup. Up, up! Pep's singsong woke him fully, and he blinked open his eyes, confused as to why his sheets were tan.
He pressed lightly at the tan-ness with the fingertips already resting there, surprised to find it rather unyielding. Cloth didn't feel that way. It felt like...muscle? He glanced up without conscious thought, and met the eyes of a man he'd seen but never spoken to. Confusion crossed his face as he still failed to grasp the situation. This was... the Weyrlingmater. Yeah, that's right. Lanthos licked his dry lips, suddenly realizing at least a little of what had happened as he simultaneously noticed that he was stark naked, in this man's arms.
His face became suffused with red as he abruptly scooted back, all limbs flailing in an effort to distance himself. He barely registered the presence of the Brown, and the fact that they were naked outside as he tried to look everywhere but at Sel'n. The pain in his nether region took him by complete surprise, halting his attempt at an expedient escape as he curled up. He felt tiny claws on his shoulder and a soft whoosh of air as Pep clambered up, using his wings for balance. Lanoscatch. CatchPretty. GoodLanos. The blue frilled from his perch, happy that His was so good at catching! Pep hadn't been so lucky, but His was so clever to have caught his Pretty! Now His had a mate for life. Mask touched his mind, happy that Hispet was aware again. It had been a terrifying experience for the young flitter to see Hispet like that. He would have come right up and snuggled into him, but there was such a big dragon there... Mask remained where he was, perched in a tree nearby where he could see everything.
Maybe he could just disappear. Right there, melt into the ground and live the rest of his life in a cave. His face was a brilliant shade of totally embarrassed red, and he bit his lip. He'd just been.. he'd had... with a man, the Weyrlingmaster! He moaned aloud, from the pain, and the inescapability of the situation, curled up on the ground, his face hidden as if not being able to see it made things better.

Sel’n kept absolutely still as Lanthos scrambled away. Ok so by the pure horror evident on the lads face it was quite obvious this wouldn’t go well. At all. Looking to the brown for reassurance the beast gave a short croon and wrapped a concealing wing around Lanthos.
Mine perhaps you should keep your distance from the boy. I won’t let him run away. The Weyrling master rolled his eyes and reached for some articles of clothing which he tossed at Kaaoloth. Here give those to him.
Obediently the brown snatched the clothes from the air and dropped them in the protective circle his wings had formed around Lanthos. Sel’n stretched out and winced. He had obviously overworked his injured shoulder. “Are you quite alright? You don’t need to be so embarrassed. Your mandyr ran and although he didn’t actually catch Vanity, you were here and Lust’s bonded wasn’t. You became a substitute.” The older rider ran his hand through his hair and squinted up at the sun. “Surely you have covered dragon lust in candidate classes. Where you not aware that mandyrs have much the same effect on their bondeds?”
As he waited for the candidate’s reaction he took a quick look at his own injuries. Some bruising. Scratches, and soreness. Nothing life threatening. Perhaps you should offer to take the boy to the infirmary. It is obvious this was his first time in a flight and you are not exactly careful with your partners. The browns voice was gentle and void of accusation.
Sel’n sighed and grabbed his scattered garments. “Kaaoloth and I could take you to the infirmary if you so desired.” Really the brown rider was hoping the lad would decline. He had a felling the infirmary was one of the last places he was welcome at. At least until this all blew over. They really should forbid candidates from impressing the terrors.
Kaaoloth rumbled and kept completely still. The brown was not in the habit of talking to others but that didn’t mean he couldn’t try to reassure in other ways.

Lanthos looked up as a brown something suddenly covered him, blocking out much of the light, and he was grateful to the Brown for his modesty, whatever might remain of it. When his clothes dropped down from above, he all but snatched them, moving slowly as he pulled on the rumpled shirt and breeches. He didn’t answer immediately when Sel’n addressed him, wincing a bit. He gently patted the brown wing, indicating to the big dragon that he could move his wing if he wanted to, muttering a heartfelt ‘thanks’ under his breath.
“No… I’m.. ok” He said after a moment, the words long in coming. He didn’t need to be reminded about the dragonlust, as he knew about –that-, but how was he supposed to know that Pep would just up and start Chasing? Lanthos frowned a bit. Surely the rider could understand his unhappiness at experiencing run lust so unexpectedly and for the first time. He was being rather callous, really, and it galled the candidate. The small flicker of anger gave him the courage to speak up. “No, I’m fine. I don’t need to go to the infirmary. I’ll just go to… the barracks.” He tried to hide the hurt he felt , but he was still too shaken to really keep it out of his voice.
Pep felt the emotions too, clinging to his shoulder as His moved upright, his frill flaring a bit with it. Lanos Good? The candidate couldn’t find it in himself to blame the blue for his misfortune, and reached up to give the mandyr a small scratch. “Yeah, Pep. I’m good.” He muttered. He felt Mask’s worry, but couldn’t locate the Flitter. He tried to send reassurance back anyway.
