Tavis was not happy about this assignment. Tavis was not happy about his partner. Tavis was just not happy. Not one bit. Add an annoying green 'mandyr into the mix and you get one very, very cranky teenager. Really his mood had been rather foul since he came to Selenitas. More so after learning his father was indeed dead and the one thing he thought would make his stay in the Weyr bearable - punching his biological father in the face - was just not going to happen. Then on top of all that he'd been accidentally present for a salamandyr hatching and now had Apima clinging to him 24/7. Talking in cryptic lines. Five words at a time. It never ended. She was there, hanging off his ear. Nuzzling and petting his cheek tenderly - she was only happy when he was with her. He'd tried to leave her back in his room but she had began wailing and chased him. If there was a hell - surely this must be it. Tavis was sitting outside of Casandra's door with a tablet and stylus. He'd done a decent job setting up the perimeter of the Weyr on the tablet - though it wasn't overly detailed. He had the basic areas in about the right place, but this was supposed to be an effort put forth by BOTH of them. Of course he couldn't find the blonde haired bimbo anywhere near the barracks. She wasn't showing up for chores either. He had asked Farryl which room she was assigned to in the barracks after a few days of trying to figure it out on his own - he could have asked Elisabeta since she seemed to be stalking the area regularly. But since he absolutely hated that woman, he would have rather walked the hall until his feet fall off. Hate. Love. Pain. Joy. Death."Yes. Thank you Apima." Tavis said, sarcasm dripping from his words as he sat there trying to fill in the blank areas on his map. "Where is she? Probably weyr hopping. She'll fit in so well here, no morals what-so-ever." Unclean. Disdain. Lifeless. Flower. Cold. "What does that even mean" The 'mandyr just continued to pet and nuzzle Hers. As if everything she said made perfect sense and he secretly knew exactly what she was saying. After all, if he didn't he wouldn't be Hers. So the pair of them sat there in silence, just waiting for Casandra to finally come back to her room.

Casandra had just let herself out of one of the private weyrs, wearing an overally large shirt that belonged to the male rider she had just been with. It was a shame that the her own garments had been ruined in their fun, and it had been the second shirt ruined by a rider, the first being by T'san, but oh well, it wasn't like she was that atatched to her clothes.
Ohh shards. Why was the idiot waiting outside her barracks door. She had been doing such a good job of avoiding the annoying candidate, she had assumed he wouldn have gotten the message and just done the work himself, like a normal person. Apperantly he didn't get the message.
Well, he had probably seen her by now. She had no doubt that she could run from him and dissapear, but eventually he would find her. Whatever. "Oh good you have the map. Let's see what you've done," she said, snatching it out of Tarvis's hands and glancing at it.
Well really, he hadn't done such a horrible job. She supposed she could help him, if only to get him to go away. "You didn't draw the jungles," she muttered, snatching the stylus from him and settling down on the ground, beginning to sketch the surounding areas of the weyr, completly ignoring Tarvis.

"Glad you finally decided to grace the barracks with your presence again." Tavis said as the blonde showed up. "Nice to see you dressed for the occasion as well. What's wrong, did he kick you out before you could get your own clothes back on?"
If there was anyone in the Weyr that Tavis hated as much as Elisabeta, it was probably Casandra. Everyone knew she was a frequent visitor to different beds around the Weyr. Everyone knew she'd slept with almost everyone who was interested in women. Sure she was good looking. He could see how men might fall prey to her good looks. But she certainly was a bitch. And really, why would anyone want to sleep with someone who had slept with so many others? It was disgusting.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. The 'mandyr was very vocal with her counting, frill flaring out as she continued to count. One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
"Not now. Stop it Apima." Tavis hissed at the green and plucked her from his ear.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Apima continued, flaring her frill at Casandra before scurrying back up Tavis' arm and neck until she could wrap her tail around his ear again.
"I said stop."
Still the 'mandyr was counting, no doubt because she picked up on her bonded's anger and displeasure with Casandra's presence. Tavis took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, if only to get Apima to shut up. After a few minutes he managed to get her to stop, though she was still giving Casandra a nasty look.
"Sorry about her. She's not right in the head." Tavis said before he realized who he was talking to. Why was he apologizing to her of all people? Honestly she should have apologized to him, trying to shirk her responsibilities in their assignment. Still, she was helping now. Kind of. So he should probably be a bit nicer, least she decide she was above working and left him to do it all again.

If there was anything Casandra liked, it was a challange, and Tavris posed a challange she just had to win. She would have him wrapped around her little finger if it was the last thing she did. "Kick me out? Hardly," she said, smiling derisivly. Casandra had never been kicked out in her life. She picked her conquests carefully, none of her prey would ever dare lift a finger against her. "I just wanted another shirt to add to my collection," she informed her fellow candidate.
Tarvis disliked her, it was no secret. Even if she wasn't good at reading people, it would only be to obvious his disdain, it was always visible on his face when he neared her. Particullary his eyes gave him away. Always narrow. DIdn't matter eaither way though, Casandra would have him eventually.
The girl continued to work on the map, ignoring the boy's idiot pet as it trilled it's stupidity at her. She wrinkled her nose. There was a reason she had avoided the mandyr hatching like the plauge, to be bonded to a stupid creature would be hell. A smile played at her lips. When his green rose, perhaps he wouldn't be so against her adcances.
"Oh, it's quite alright," Casandra drawled, lifting the map to look at her progress. She had filled in quite a few of the blank pages that the boy had left. Really, he should have been more thorough in his drawings. She had had to do most of the work, Hmph. "Did Elisabeta say we needed to have furniture included?"

A shake of his head was given as she spoke, "No, I don't think so."
To her earlier comment about her 'collection' he had rolled his eyes, not wanting to give her the pleasure of a response. The quicker he could make this visit, and the fewer things he had to say to her, the better.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
There went Apima again, bloody 'mandyr. If he could have left her in his room without her wailing and then searching the hallways for him - he would have. Unfortunately for the candidate it seemed as though the 'mandyr was going to be a permanent attachment from here on out. This would undoubtedly make certain things in life a bit awkward for Tavis, but Apima didn't care. All she cared about was being with Hers.
Tavis looked over the map and the areas Casandra had filled in over the last few minutes. She had an eye for detail that he lacked, and her drawing was much better than his. If only she hadn't avoided him for so long this would have been done sooner. Lazy one she was. He could tell from her look and tone that she felt she was doing oh-so-much-work right now. Puh-lease.
"Almost done? I can do the inner stuff. Just haven't been too many places around here yet." His tone was almost lacking the distinct note of underlying displeasure. Almost.

Yes, the map was turning out quite well. Casandra finished sketching the river that looped near the weyr, and pursed her lips, there, the outer part was done. Thank Faranth. She shook her head as Tarvis offered his assistance to do the inner part.
"Well if you haven't been to many places in the weyr, you'll only screw it up." Casandra knew her way surprsingly around the weyr, she had learned the interior well during the mischeif she pleasured in partaking. The kitchens were already mostly done by Tarvis, and she grudginly had to give him his props. He had only fogotten to add a furnace in the far corner.
The other candidate was actually quite agrivating, and his little green salamandyr distracting. Must it hang like that around his ear? Was it really necasary? Certainly it was annoying. And Tavris, was he just going to stand there and watch her do their map? True, he had offered to help sketch, but he could do something much more productive. Perhaps he could go fetch her some klah or some warm bread. Yea, that would be nice.
The work of scetching was quickly growing dull, and Casandra was beginning to to regret rejecting Tarvis's offer to help. She eventually just ended up shoving the tablet and stylus into his hands and crossing her hands. "Well where just have you been? I'm tired of working, so its your turn." She didn't even bother to ask nicely, Tarvis would do as he was told, she was sure of it.

Tavis gave a very slight grunt and the frownlines on his forehead grew deeper as she shoved the stylus and tablet to him. Oh, the poor dear. She was tired of drawing. "Give me a break...", he muttered to himself before looking over what she had done.
Admittedly she had filled in many of the blank areas. Still, if she could at least pretend to be decent towards him then this would be much more pleasant for both of them. Unfortunately it seemed she wasn't capable of it. Just a rude prissy girl who was used to getting everything her way because she was pretty. What a waste of good looks.
He picked up the stylus and began filling in some of the area by the feeding grounds and part of the wherhandler apartments area - he had seem those when he'd been shown around by one of the few people in the Weyr he respected. Still his drawing wasn't super detailed - better than nothing though, right?
Apima jumped off of his ear and scurried down to his shoulder. She faced the other Candidate and hissed, flaring her frill as she did so. All the while she continued her counting, One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Good, at least he could follow orders, Casandra decided with a thoughtful nod. With a few months of training, perhaps he could serve her well. Anyways, thats the way the world was. Woman gave the orders and the men followed them. Men were made for hard work, and Casandra thought that drawing obviously fell under the hard work umbrella.
She watched him draw without much intrest. The green salamandyr was quite distracting. Why didn't it go away ? At the very least it could sharding shut up, no body needed a remedialy lesson on their number. "Shoo," she muttered half heartadly, swatting her hand idly at the little beast.
"Are you almost done?" She asked after a few moments of silence distrupted only by her figitting. He had been drawing for some time now, and Casandra was not known for her great patience.

Tavis also swatted at Apima - at the same time that Casandra did. Fingers brushed against hers for a brief second and his ears turned red. Glancing over at her he rolled his eyes then went back to work. A few more silent minutes went by - really it felt like an eternity - and he held the map out for her to inspect.
"There. This will have to do, since I'm sure you've already done all you're willing to do. Wouldn't want you to chip a nail, now would we?" Sarcasm practically dripped from his words as he regarded the blonde with a look that said 'I don't want to be here either.'

"Your quite right," Casandra sniffed derisivly, glancing at her nails out of reflex. If she managed to chip a nail during this excersise, heads would role. Besides, it looked pretty good anyway, they had done a resonably good job on the map considerring the lack of effort she had put in on their part.
Whatever, like it mattered. Candidate lessons were just a joke anyway. Came hatching time, a dragon wouldn't know who had slacked off during lessons. They chose based on personality, and Casandra was sure that she would attract a gold dragon, just as she desired.
"Are we done yet?" She asked, taking the map from her partner and tucking it underneath her arm. SHe would take care of that thank you very much, she couldn't trust a boy to keep track of something, even something as simple as a map.

He nods and stands up, letting her take the map. He didn't care if she had it, as long as it got to Elisabeta when it was due in. "Yeah, thankfully we are."
With that he turned and walked down the hall, grateful to be away from Cassandra and done with his bloody mission from the Candidatemaster.
