O’dan shivered as the breeze picked up and snuggled closer to the warm body beside him, he mumbled sleepily and blinked. It wasn’t usual for O’dan to wake up next to a warm body, not since he’d come the Weyr and Impressed Emerith…
Emerith. O’dan blinked again, trying to get his thoughts together enough to contact his green. Emerith? Who am I snuggling up to here? Shafts of emotion played over O’dan as his dragon got her though’s together enough to answer, he caught drowsiness, affection, and an overwhelming amount of satisfaction. Well at least Emerith was pleased with her evening’s, or rather morning’s pleasure.
Garaeth’s
Garaeth? Oh the blue now who was his rider? T’ke, that tall boy. At least he hadn’t woken up with Ka’rys, now that would have been awkward. O’dan wriggled around until he was facing the younger boy. ‘T’ke, wake up now.’ O’dan ran his hand along T’ke’s side lightly. ‘We should really move from here.’

T'ke mumbled slightly in his sleep and shifted. Why was it so windy? Wind didn't usually get into his weyr that much. At least he had something warm and cozy to snuggle with. That sent new warning signals to his brain. Since when did he have something warm and cozy to sleep with? Garaeth was far to big now. Then who...? Questions turned into rising panic as the something spoke his name.
T'ke bit back a yelp as his eyes shot open wide. There was only one answer for this. Garaeth? Yes? The blue sounded, if possible, even more happy than usual, in a tired, sleepy way. Tell me you did not catch the green?! Of course I did. Emerith is lovely, is she not? Are you not happy? T'ke didn't feel like wasting more time with his love sick dragon. He was too busy feeling extremely uncomfortable about the whole situation. Maybe he should have taken Saeo up on her offer after all. At least then he'd have had some experience.
"Um..." T'ke pulled himself free of O'dan and sat up. He glanced around. Great, they were on the river bank. Where anyone could see them. And shard it all where were his pants! T'ke blushed scarlet as he yanked them back on. "Sorry," he mumbled. His face was a mixture of confusion, nervousness, and fear. "So...where do we go?" He was at a complete loss. All he really wanted to do was have a bath and go back to his own room.

O’dan couldn’t help feeling somewhat disappointed when T’ke’s eyes shot open with such a panicked look in them. He did his best to keep it out of his face though, firmly reminding himself that this was probably the first time Garaeth had chased a green, and it was possibly also T’ke’s first time as well. Neither side of that pair was very old. Even reminding himself of these facts O’dan was slightly hurt when the young bluerider practically leapt away from him. Hadn’t he been good enough?
With a sigh O’dan looked around for his shirt and picked it up, only to be confronted by a hissing, tailless salamandyr clinging to the garment. Bad foul mine. Not here, why not here. Bad bad bad. Troublemaker scolded, flaring his frill. How dare his pet go off like that with the big green, and how dare they choose mates without consulting him? They were very bad they were and that nasty little uglypetmater had better not think he was staying around! Troublemaker leapt of the shirt and flattened his body, letting his wings and frill stretch out to their fullest. He was fearsome! Is mine! Is mine, not yours! Away away uglyminemater, do not want ugly.
O’dan pulled on his shirt as soon as Troublemaker jumped down, thankful that it was long enough to decently cover him. Then he snatched his furious pet off the ground before Trouble took it into his head to try and drive T’ke off. The poor boy had enough problems without being bitten by a salamandyr.
What now? Good question. ‘I don’t know, I’ve never done this kind of thing before and I’d be a great deal happier if my dragon had at least waited for me to get inside first.’ He admitted with a shrug. O’dan shifted uncomfortably on his feet, not really all that sure of what to say next. Well he’d just have to take the plunge.
‘Look, I didn’t, you know, hurt you did I? I don’t really remember all that much.’ O’dan blurted out, blushing bright red by the time he’d trailed off, he’d never had to ask that kind of question before either but Emerith hadn’t exactly allowed him to show much consideration towards his partner. He did assume that T’ke had been in… er… the dominant position but he was worried anyway.

T'ke looked momentarily crestfallen. He hadn't meant to hurt O'dan's feelings. He just hadn't been ready for this. No amount of lesson could really have prepared him for it. Not to mention, he hadn't expected his first greenrider to be a boy. Most of the ones he knew were girls after all. He should have thought of the possibility, but he hadn't. And now, here they were.
"I'm fine. I don't remember much either," he said apoligetically. "I hadn't expected it to be so sudden." He looked the boy over with sudden concern. "What about you?" It wasn't exactly soft out here. That and he was starting to feel a little guilty. It wasn't like it was O'dan's fault. He hadn't been in control anymore than T'ke had. He opened his mouth to apologize when a red blur shot down from the sky straight at Troublemaker.
Akyo the darter had been looking for a snake when he had spotted his human and another one on the river bank. He had wondered where he had gotten to after leaving so suddenly that morning. Maybe he could pester the boy into giving him food. But wait! Something brown was squirming in the other human's grasp. A worm! It was a bit bigger than ones he normally chased, but he didn't care. It was an ugly, horrible worm! And it was look at his human! Akyo bared his talons and shrieked as he dived at the salamandyr.

It was good to know that he wasn’t the only one having trouble remembering what just happened, he supposed it was some odd effect of being so closely bonded with his dragon at that time. He shrugged and mentally took stock of his body, with dismay he realised he wasn’t used to this sort of thing anymore. How long had it even been since he’d been with anyone? With slight regret O’dan realised that it had been near three turns ago that he’d come to the Weyr, and his last lover had been before that. Probably high time to tumble a few drudges then.
“I’m not bad, at least I didn’t get sunburnt.” O’dan smiled, trying to cover his thoughts with a quip. T’ke looked like he was about to say something but he never got the chance as something red dropped out of the sky, causing O’dan to fall back a step, and Troublemaker to let out a vocal and mental shriek.
Help! Help evilfoulbadflyerthing eat! HEEEEELP! The salamandyr howled, bit O’dan’s hand a few times in a frenzied attempt to make him let go. once freed by his swearing pet the salamandyr vanished inside O’dan’s shirt and trembled against him. Troublemaker had already lost his tail and had no intention of losing anything else.
O’dan curled a hand protectively around the lump in his shirt that was Trouble and looked suspiciously at the avain. Maybe it would go away now that Troublemaker was out of sight. “Whoa, sorry about the noise there. Troublemaker’s been really jumpy since he lost his tail. Probably because there’s not much else he cares to lose. I hope it regrows soon.” He apologised, wiping his bitten hand on his shirt. “I do wish people wouldn’t just turn their darters loose to hunt. Some nasty little green female went after him just a few days ago and followed him right back into my Weyr.”
