Azrath sighed heavily and wallowed deeper in the sand. Sometimes he felt like he was the only sensible one in this bonding and never more so than when Imp had just lost another Flight. Needless to say both the salamandyr and Darya were sulking immensely. Darya was angry with Imp, apparently because he chased the firelizard queen but Azrath personally thought it was more that the little bronze had lost again. Imp of course was sulking because his pretty queen had been won by another bronze, and he was complaining about it. Constantly.
Pretty one MINE be! Nothisnothisnothis NOT HIS! Want pretty one. chase, very clever I. Not his! as if cued by Azrath’s thoughts the salamandyr burst out with another string of complaints that subsided into mentally muttered foul language that Azrath was personally quite sure the bronze had learned from his sire. The beast in question lay sprawled over Azrath’s head between the blue’s headnobs where he’d scrambled when it became clear he was going to get no sympathy from Darya. Maybe you should try chasing females more your size. Azrath suggested and got a reply so foul that he desisted in talking to the salamandyr.
Are you still sulking too Darya? For his trouble this time Azrath received no words but a shaft of emotion mostly comprised of simmering rage. We should find a nice greenpair to fool around with. He suggested, watching Darya with interest.

Jarcith flew in a zig zag pattern along the coast. She and Wynmuri didn't often take the time to come out this far, but both had been in a rare mood for a break. Life had certainly been more hectic of late, and a leisurely fly was just what the pair needed. While Wyn relaxed and gazed out to see, Jarcith spotted a blue lump on the sand below. Curious despite herself, she circled close enough to see it was Azrath.
Good day, Azrath she greeted pleasantly with a dip of her wing. What brings you out today?

Azrath got no response from Darya, much to his annoyance, and far too much response from Imp, also much to his annoyance. Was no one going to be cheered into a better mood? Azrath sighed again, making sure everyone knew he was feeling put upon here.
A dragon shadow on the sand caught his eye as it circled and grew larger; he looked up to see a dark green in the sky dip a wing as the green spoke to him. Oh my Darya brings me here Jarcith, she likes to come out here and sulk when the little Imp loses his chases. Just as well really, I wouldn’t want to inflict her on the Weyr in this mood. Azrath replied, making sure Darya didn’t hear him. I don’t suppose you and yours might like to try and get her unsulky? He suggested. Then because he was a wicked dragon, Azrath bespoke his rider again. I found a pretty greenpair for us Darya… Darya actually looked around for a moment then turned a fearsome gaze on her dragon. AZRATH I HATE YOU! probably even other humans could hear that. Imp certainly could. Hate you! HATEHATE! He seemed pleased enough with his new word to add it to his litany of complaints about Storm.

Jarcith sent an amused chuckle. My Wyn may not be the best to unsulk someone, she pointed out lightly. It might be fun to try. She circled closer while she conferred with her rider. Would you like to visit Azrath and His?
"Hmm?" Wyn blinked as she came out of her thoughts. She glanced down at the blue dragon and his rider on the sands below. Azrath, Wyn had to think for a moment to remember. That was Darya dragon. Wyn shrugged. She wasn't the most sociable rider ever, but saw nothing wrong with having a light conversation with someone. "Alright then."
Jarcith landed lightly on the sand, glad of the feeling of it beneath her claws. Wyn slid of her back and waved a greeting to Darya. She was surprised to see the other woman looking in such a foul mood and sent Jarcith a suspicious glare. Jarcith dutifully ignored her and Wyn sighed. Dragons and their plotting. "Why are yah so glum, Darya?" she asked, hoping she sounded helpful and not annoyed.

Azrath you’re a sneak. Darya accused her dragon with justification as she attempted to put on a neutral expression with only partial success. I know. You love me anyway though. the blue’s tone could only be defined as smug and his tail twitched slowly, a sure sign of amusement for Azrath.
Darya lifted a hand in greeting to Wynmuri and attempted a smile that, like her neutral expression, wasn’t totally successful. ‘Oh nothing much Wyn.’ Darya replied remembering the greenrider’s name. ‘I’m just bonded to an idiot salamandyr who insists on chasing every firelizard who rises near him and a dragon with a twisted sense of humour. If I could strangle one of them I would.’ Darya explained with a hint of a smile, it did seem rather silly when she came to explain it. ‘I think the absolute worst part is listening to Imp rant on when he loses.’ My pretty NOT HIS. Foul beast! Hate you. Nothisnotlike vilehorrorfoul beast. Imp burst out with another loud broadcast of his opinion. ‘Like that, and he’ll keep on forever or as close to it as he can.’ Darya added with a roll of her eyes.

"Ah," Wyn raised a critical eyebrow at Imp and winced at his vocabulary. It was one of many reasons she had refrained from impressing either a fire lizard or a salamandyr. The creatures just seemed like more trouble than they were worth. This one certainly seemed to be the case. The thought, however, reminded her that Jarcith had not Risen herself in a long time. It was unusual. Wyn glanced at her dragon suspiciously, but she just went on preening herself.
Wyn shrugged and turned back to Darya. "Sense of humor is right," she agreed. "I'm sure they're plottin' behind our backs." Would I do that? Jarcith asked innocently. Not usually, Wyn replied sourly. But Azrath probably corrupted you. Jarcith's eyes swirled merrily. Perhaps.

Imp noticed Wynmuri’s interest in him and, naturally for him, took it as admiration. Suddenly diverted from his complaints the little bronze stood straight on Azrath’s head and posed with his frill raised, carefully positioned so the shadow of Azrath’s headknobs wouldn’t fall on him. Yesyes, look. He instructed, appreciating the attention. Admire.
Darya rolled her eyes at Imp’s vanity but smiled crookedly. ‘A sense of humour is what I need at times like this.’ She commented with a sigh. ‘As for plotting, well those two are I’m certain. They just can’t wait to chase some pretty green at an inconvenient time and lose anyway. I’m sure the drudges draw straws for any duties that takes them into my weyr, and the loser gets the job.’ A slight blush crawled up Darya’s face as her brain caught up with what her mouth was saying. ‘I’m sorry I shouldn’t be complaining to you, normally I wouldn’t but it’s a sore point right now.’ She half explained and half apologised.
Azrath stretched out casually, now that Darya was concentrating on her half of this pair maybe Azrath could at least talk without being shouted at, his rider had a near deafening mind at times. You’re looking lovely Jarcith. The blue tried his hand at a cautious compliment, braced for any assault from Darya.
