Roshya lay on her bed and stared up at the ceiling, there was absolutely no denying what she felt, she was bored, utterly and completely, mind numbingly bored. She knew it was probably wrong to feel this way, and she knew she would probably long for enough time to be bored in once weyrling lessons got started but right now, with Sheyath fed and sleeping (again!) there was nothing she could set her hand to that could hold her interest.
There was a crack in the ceiling, Roshya noticed and focused on it, not wanting to turn her gaze onto the room and have her vision filled with the comparison between her pale little blue and his golden sister. In fact right now Roshya couldn’t remember whether her important roommates were in or out at the moment, she couldn’t hear anything but that didn’t mean a great deal.
In truth Roshya didn’t know whether to attempt to cultivate a more friendly relationship with Savitri or not. The girl seemed organised and considerate, but Roshya didn’t want to seem to be toadying up to her, after all it wasn’t like she had given the other girl much more than a mumbled greeting in their time as candidates. Roshya sighed again and glared at the ceiling crack, there had to be something better to do with her time than lie on her bed listening to thoughts she’d rather not have at all.

After several candlemarks spent in feeding, bathing, and oiling the calm hatchling at her side, Savitri was more than grateful to head back to the peace of her shared room. Shadow had been less than helpful today, mostly because he was sticking his nose where it did not belong and sending her private images that she would rather have left unseen. Due to the various distractions and Hepaticath's insistence that she was starving, the whole process had taken far more time than it should have, and now the young woman was looking forward to a bit of quiet time while the dragon took a long nap to sleep off some of her meal.
She quietly slipped through the open door, startled to see her roommate there already. Hepaticath had no qualms about nosing her way past Hers and making straight for her own sleeping space, settling down with a soft grunt of delight. By the time Savitri had turned to look at the hatchling, the gold was already asleep, and the young woman was loathe to wake her. Quiet time sounded like a good option right now.
"Sorry for disturbing you," she said quietly to her roommate, seating herself on her own bed. "Hepaticath insisted on a nap now that everything else is taken are of." She briefly wondered if the girl did not like her, since the other weyrling seemed very intent on staring at the ceiling. There had never been any overtures of friendship, though Savitri was not sure she minded a great deal. The last thing she wanted and needed was a clingy and fussy roommate. She had enough smothering attention as it was, and she would likely snap at the next person who fawned.

The soft sounds of someone moving around alerted Roshya that her roommate was more than likely back, it seemed she had gone somewhere, and the sounds of a dragon moving about and settling down somewhere brought the probability of that still higher, Roysha couldn’t think of a weyrling dragon audacious enough to curl up on Hepaticath’s bed. Certainty arrived as Savitri spoke to her.
Roshya flipped herself over on her bunk, which had the net effect of putting her belly down with her feet still facing the door, so she wriggled around util she was looking at Savitri. ‘Don’t be. I’m bored.’ Roshya rolled her eyes. ‘I know I shouldn’t be bored, but I am.’ She sighed and looked around the room. ‘I shouldn’t be complaining to you either.’ Roshya added, embarrassed by her outburst, and wriggled and rolled herself back into her staring at the ceiling pose. The impact of this was severely compromised by her rolling onto a concealed hairbrush and being forced to wriggle some more to get hold it and evict it from the bed.

While she could not have described her life as 'boring' in any area, Savitri sympathized with the other weyrling, knowing how awful it could be to have nothing to do for the moment. She was normally very active, constantly on-the-go and keeping busy with one thing or another. This was the first time in a long time that she felt grateful to just sit. "Being bored can be a chore. I'm not sure how people can enjoy not doing anything for much of the time," the young woman agreed, rolling her eyes skyward as if seeking patience. She snorted softly as Roshya struggled to remove the errant hairbrush from its hiding place. Shards, but she was glad Shadow was not prone to hiding things.
Savitri took a moment to remove the sling from her left arm and cautiously extend the appendage, careful to not disturb the bandaged portion of her upper arm. While flexing her fingers and rolling her wrist to keep up a decent range of motion, she glanced back at the other weyrling, confused by the self-deprecating statement. "Why shouldn't you be complaining to me? If it was something stupid, I wouldn't listen, but being bored seems like a valid complaint, especially since weyrling lessons don't start for awhile yet. It's just chores and making sure they don't eat themselves into unconsciousness."
Despite the blunt honesty of her tone, her voice was noticeably gentler upon reference to their draconic companions, of which hers was fast asleep and showing no signs of waking anytime soon. While she had not understood before the unique rapport between dragon and rider, it was much clearer to her now. She very carefully flexed her arm at the elbow, watching Roshya devote herself to staring at the ceiling again. "Where are you from?" she inquired suddenly, both to satisfy her own curiosity and relieve some of Roshya's obvious boredom.
