He strolled casually past that ridiculous pseudo-pirate, and gave the poor soul guarding the stall a toast with his mug of mead he had been walking around the gather with. Admittedly he shouldn't be there. He should be buying the pieces to make a costume...but he was putting that on the back burner. No offense to his contest partner at all was meant, there were just things he had to do real quick and well, he was sure that he would have plenty of marks left over to buy the costume. In his estimates it shouldn't take more than five marks to do it in...shards, half of it he could probably find around his weyr and his ideas would still come to beautiful fruition. Yeah, he could definitely afford a nice little gift, though exactly why he was even bothering with it, he wasn't sure. It wasn't like buying gifts won him any points before, so why would it now? If this was anybody other than K'sel, then you could chalk it all up to simply being kind, but no, usually the guy did things for concrete reasons.
Call this an exception.
Mojo fluted to his bonded as he took a good look at the wares. K'sel too was being stingy and critical of the quality of the pieces because shards man, if he was going to buy something, at very least it should last. This was a gift, and he didn't want to look cheap. He picked up a joining ring. Oh no, that was definitely not on his list of things to buy, but for a proper assessment of quality control he did have to give it a look. He twisted the band in the light to watch the sun catch the luster of the metal before setting it down again. Mojo flashed an image of a lovely lady wearing a bracelet, an idea that the brownrider instantly shut down, "Oh no, I already have gotten her that...."
You should buy her things she needs. Useful stuff. Like new riding straps or leathers.
Leather eh? Do you have something you wanna tell me you deviant?
Genuinely oblivious as the dragon was he replied very plainly, I have no idea what you mean. But shinies are hardly a prudent choice. And he then went ignored. The rider found himself hunched over a selection of necklaces, his attention particularly drawn to the pearls. A classy style if he said so himself...but shards, just from the look of it the price was going to kill him. He debated calling over a stall worker as his free hand dug down into a pocket to count out marks. Sigh he was really going to go through with it....for something as simple as a "friendly" graduation gift too. Mojo, being the clever bugger he was tried to console his pet the best he could, bouncing along the pretties and switching what price tags there were indiscriminately. Confuse the workers! It was the perfect plan.
