X'vier looked around the Weyr. It was morning and he had already picked up dirty clothes, cleaned his dresser, moved Passion's dinner from last night. ....People usually didn't come to his Weyr. As for women well, he was usually in their Weyr so his didn't matter all that much. Things wheren't all that messy as X'vier typically practiced on his own here, but it wasn't female friendly. So he moved a few items around, shifted things for more dance room, and made sure that sharp objects like corners had something soft near them. (She confessed to being clumsy after all).
Mirazeth watched him in amusement from his ledge. So....are you going to oil me up so I look all pretty too? The brown teased. He stretched casually, spreading his toes out and swishing his tail. The sun was warm against the cooler air, which made him grateful they had the fourth floor. Mirazeth enjoyed being high up as it was warmer and gave him a head start in chasing.
"I'm just straightening up so we don't fall on things." X'vier said. Through the link he could feel sarcasm bubble forth. Like you?
X'vier stopped and turned to look at his mindmate. "Go chase a green Mirazeth. It's not like that." He thought of his niece, a girl he hadn't seen in years except for the occasional gather. "I can't believe she's getting joined already. I remember her running in diapers." X'vier quickly shook the feeling he had. Joining meant nothing with out loyalty, which he hoped she would give her husband and vise versa. Then again, women couldn't be trusted in that way. They where great parents, great fighters, great lovers. But who wants to get Joined to one? Typical bachelor at heart, X'vier just couldn't comprehend the idea of locking himself to just one person.

The blonde girl wasn't sure how she felt about all this. Sure, X'vier's reasoning for asking her over was platonic enough (what could be more tame than simple dance lessons), but she was still going to someone's weyr. A male someone, and a dragonrider at that. Riders just didn't have candidates over to their weyrs unless a different kind of dancing was going on. She had heard Elisabeta's speech about losing one's virginity before impression, which, Vellani hadn't precisely done yet...or gotten anywhere close to. Ani trusted X'vier enough not to believe that he had ulterior motives for having her come here, but she couldn't help but feel watched as soon as she entered, climbing up to X'vier's weyr. She was sure someone was watching her, judging her.
Finally, she got to the rider's weyr and knocked on his door, feeling very exposed. For the fiftieth time, she found herself questioning her presence here and she thought about turning back. She couldn't bear the thought of disappointing Passion and X'vier, though. After all, how many times did one's niece get joined? The longer it took the rider to open his door, the flightier Ani would get. Who knew what trouble an irrational and dramatic teenager could get into?

A knock! X'vier swept the last bit of dirt into the bathroom, leaving the broom there and closing the access. Good thing she wasn't here to use it. Not that there was anything bad, but X'vier had swept a lot of dust and dirt into that bathroom in preparation for getting rid of it. With a final glance he walked over to his door, Mirazeth chuckling in his head the whole time. He opened it and smiled, "Good morning Ani." PRETTY! Out zoomed Passion whos only warning that he was going to land on her was the moment he landed on X'vier's head to aim for his next spot, which was her chest of course. He landed, assuming she would grab hold of him, and proceeded to thrum and preen for attention.
X'vier knew how much Passion sucked up to women and just let it go. "Come on in." He invited her. Upon walking in she would see the place cleaned up with pillows near corners and a breakfast tray on the bed. Mirazeth was stretching his wings. He glanced at her, eyes whirling blue/green in curiosity. He blinked, rumbled a greeting and went back to his stretching out on the Weyr ledge.

She was startled when X'vier opened the door, and grinned at him. She wasn't prepared for Passion's exclamation as the mandyr shot across the room, landing on X'vier's head one time before vaulting off straight onto her chest. Though the mandyr wasn't very big, the force with which he landed on her coupled with the shock of it, nearly knocked her off balance. She stumbled slightly, but managed to keep her feet under her, catching the little salamandyr easily. Lauging, she rubbed her cheek against Passion's face, scratching and tickling the salamandyr's head. If she ever had a mandyr, she wanted it to be just like Passion.
It took her a second to realize that X'vier had invited her in. Still holding Passion, she entered his weyr, gazing around curiously with wide eyes. The main focus in the room as the large brown head, blue and green eyes whirring steadily. The girl was momentarily awed, but managed to squeak out a respectful " Good morning." To the dragon before he went back out to his ledge. At last, she was left alone with X'vier and Passion. Turning back to the rider, her smile was wide. " I've never been in a rider's weyr before. This is so much better than our barracks." For once, she found herself not being able to wait to impress.

He grinned in response as she looked around. "Yeah, when you impress you'll get an actual Weyr. The Weyrlings share but upon graduation you should have one to yourself." He gave her a moment to become familiar with the room. Worry hovered in the back of his mind. He wasn't making a mistake was he? Sure....he had been denied by quite a few...and she looked like she'd turn into a good dancer. But what if he was wrong? He supposed he could give dance lessons for Carolina's Joining by himself but it simply wouldn't be the same. He wanted the best for the woman he remembered as a sweet little girl. He pushed his concerns away for the moment. After all he had work to do.
When her gaze finally came back towards him he said. "Don't worry, we'll start out slow. Today we will work on rhythm as well as a couple basic steps." He told her before going over to his storage chest and pulling out a small lap drum. It was one of the easiest instruments to use. Harpers occasionally taught drum beats to Hold youth so that they had assistance with entertainment. Xavier had been one of these and had bought of drum in preparation of these exercises. "Do you know what Rhythm is Ani?"
Passion had been quiet this whole time. Happily wrapped in his Pretty's arms and soaking up the attention. He took this as his cue to gently leave her grasp and glide to the floor Pretty dance! he sang out.
