Name:L’am (Liam)
Age: Thirty-one turns
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Blue Rider
Physical Appearance: There isn’t much that is overly extraordinary about the boy’s outward appearance. He’s slightly above average in height, but wouldn’t be considered tall, even. He just seems taller than most because he’s very lean and lanky. His legs are long, taking up most of his height. His arms are long and thin and he has thin, long fingers. His skin is paler than most and he isn’t very built, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t strong. There are different types of strength in this world.
His hair is short and almost feathery. In color, it can be compared to milk chocolate. From a distance or in a poor lighting situation, it might look darker, but up close it is very clearly a medium brown color. His hair is almost perpetually shaggy and mussed, almost like he doesn’t have the time to take care of it and groom it properly, and it is often covering up his eyes. He just says that it’s part of his charm. His eyes are brown and are very emotional. As far as his clothing went, he dresses for fashion as much as he dresses for comfort and believes that there is a way to harmonize the two without sacrificing either.
Personality: If one word sums up everything about L’am, it is jokester. He doesn't seem to take much seriously. This is his way of attempting to diffuse tense situations. Jokes have served him well in the past, both as a defense mechanism and a way to make people feel better, so he doesn’t see any reason to really change. Along these lines, he will attempt to make light of almost any situation, not because he isn’t sensitive to others’ plights and heavy situations, he just believes that humor is a good cure to almost anything.
This doesn’t mean he’s completely foolhardy and jokes in every situation. He seems to know where the invisible line is between sensitivity and jokes and while he sometimes will cross it due to a complete and utter lack of tact, more often than not, he knows where to draw that line. He has an oddly solid work ethic. Work is something that soothes him, and he’ll cling to it completely in the lack of something else familiar. It’s one thing he’s completely and utterly passionate about. Passion is a very real part of his life, as well. If there’s something he feels strongly about, his passion is almost infectious.
Not surprisingly, he takes romance as lightly as he takes life. He wouldn't call himself a whore, precisely, he just doesn't think that people should deprive themselves of a little fun just in case there's someone out there for them. L'am doesn't believe in love, you see. Instead, he believes in the here and now. Doesn't mean that e wouldn't EVER be opened to love, it just means that he doesn't look for it and he wouldn't know what to do with it if it smacked him in the face. He's a flirter and someone who isn't opposed to the occasional fling.
History:Liam was born in the year 2992 to a couple of Benden riders. He was the oldest of three children and was always the epitome of a role model for his younger siblings. From a very early age, he was aware of the possible future responsibilities of a weyrbrat, and took every possible opportunity to vex his parents and his instructors. Of course this was far worse before the birth of his siblings. No one knew what to do with the troublesome young boy, and thoughts of sending him away were discussed. Liam, however, loved his family very much, despite how much of a trouble maker he was and resolved to tone down how mischievous he was. Though people still knew what it meant when Liam was around, there was no longer talk of sending him away. The boy wasn’t all play and no work though. Even from a very early age, Liam’s work ethic was clear. Despite all the trouble he got into when left to his own devices, when he was working, he could do so hours without complaint. He had this desire to prove himself worthy of what he had. In the midst of this, his younger brother and baby sister were born. Liam found a new outlet for his entertainment in them and became a much adored big brother. He would often tell the younger children stories or jokes and built up his repertoire in this way. When he was six, the war began. His parents were in the thick of it a lot, and Liam constantly worried about them, which gave way to an intense desire to help them somehow. Thus his desire to become a rider was fueled.
As a child, there were two things that Liam found himself completely and utterly enthralled with. The first being the new Weyrleader, C’leon, and the second being dragons as a whole. In C’leon, he found a kindred spirit, no matter how one sided this relationship might have been, and Liam found himself drawn to the Weyrleader, seeing a lot of himself in the older man and seeing what he wanted to be like when he got older. C’leon was the epitome of a dragon rider, and someone who Liam found himself wanting to be when he was grown. Having no real qualms with the way the Weyrleader was doing things, Liam’s father was popular within the weyr, and all troublemaking aside, Liam was a very good candidate for impression. So, when he was twelve, he was allowed to stand on the sands for the first time. The boy was beyond excited. All of his dreams were coming true, it seemed. He saw himself well on his way to becoming like C’leon, and nothing would stop him. Unfortunatly, he didn’t impress in this hatching, which was probably for the best because he had another chance to stand when he was thirteen, and that was the hatching that blue Jeth came along and changed Liam’s entire existence.
Unfortunately for Liam, this hatching saw the collision of the two things he had always felt the most passionate about when some of the dragons in his hatching came out horribly mutated. Liam was horror struck, but he loved dragons regardless, and he unsurprisingly, impressed to blue Jeth. Luckily for him, Jeth remained relatively unscathed by the mutations that plagued his clutchmates, but with his newly bonded mind, the newly dubbed L’am saw the benden riders slaying many of the newly impressed dragons, along with their new riders. Filled with horror, and with growing misgivings about C’leon and Benden as a whole, L’am left the sands with an exponentially heavier heart.
His fears that Benden was slipping were further solidified when he saw how tyrannical C’leon was becoming. Not willing for anything to happen to Jeth, and completely out of his mind that something would happen, L’am fled Benden once Jeth was mature and the pair of them had completed their weyrling training. The streamlined rocket of a blue made it past C’leon’s spies easily enough and they traveled to the sfouth, finding a weyr where they might be able to live without fear of being executed for what they believed. Selenitas. They lived there without incident, but never once did L’am speak of the happenings at Benden and how they had been drugging their queens. For him, talking about that horrible time would be fueling the flames for his own nightmares, and reopen new wounds. And luckily for the weyrling, no one asked. Two years later found the pair living in relative peace; L’am was a well versed dragon rider. This also found a surprise for L’am in the form of young Kaegan and her queen, fleeing from Benden. This seemed to be just what Benden needed to turn it’s gaze on Selenitas, and with it, L’am’s peaceful life.
And once Benden had set their sights on Selenitas, the weyr threw one curve ball at the Selenitas after another. The poisoning of the weyrwoman, killing of eggs, surprise taking of a queen, and the subsequent kidnapping and disappearance of both Weyrwoman and Weyrleader, respectively. It seemed to L’am that he would never be able to escape his past, no matter how hard he tried. To the young blue rider, his dream had turned into a nightmare.
Things began changing though, not without effort, and things were getting better for the weyr as a whole. Both leaders were back once again and Selenitas seemed to be back to normal, until the weyr was somehow poisoned, counting the Wyerwoman as one of it’s casualties. It was soon after this that the siege took place. Caught completely unaware, L’am was at a distinct disadvantage. The boy fought valiantly though, despite his aversion to it and managed to not only escape alive, but also managed to see the murder of C’leon at the hands of Kaegan. This forced Benden to retreat and most at the weyr was peaceful.
When L’am was 21 turns, a plague swept through Selenitas, claiming the current Weyrleader. The weyr was once more raised in an uproar, and L’am was left with little to do other than try and avoid being sickened at all costs. He was no use to his weyr on his deathbed, and Selenitas had been through so much in the last years that he knew that more had to be on the way. There was little he could do for the weyr dead. Luckily he survived, only to see the river poisoned and the attack by Fort on Selenitas. Luckily, L’am happened to be in the battle and was able to help hold off Fort. It seemed that ever since Kaegan arrived with Millieth, things were going from bad to worse for Selenitas.
The very next year, some riders from Benden arrived and took over Selenitas in short order, capturing Weyrlings and slaughtering pairs left and right. L’am knew better than to fight when he was so grossly outnumbered and managed to survive, living in the new Selenitas without protest and against his better judgment. He and Jeth just wanted to live. With a new clutch hatching under wastelander rule, L’am saw Jeth’s hatching happen all over again with the slaughter of several of the newly bonded pairs. It seemed he was stuck in Benden once more and there was nothing he could do about it.
3016 - Involved in the skirmish between Burimyu and Selenitas. Hates having to fight his friends, but doesn't have a choice. Teams up with Kalina and Uminth and fights Elysia of green Onyth and Iskierka of blue Ioth. Gets burnt, but manages not to get hurt too badly.
3017 - EARTHQUAKE OH NO. Jeth gets buried and almost dies, but he gets dug out and sent to the infirmary for treatment. Breaks his leg, but heals pretty well. L'am becomes friends with T'san and A'emi, and often hangs around their weyr, just cause. He also befriends Dy'shi when Jeth catches Chakraith.
3018 - Impresses two firelizards, a dour little blue he names Cas and a giant salad loving brown he names Sam.
3019-3023 - Involved in the war in a minor capacity. Fights. Gets sent to Inverness for some stupid reason. Upset that he has to leave all his friends. He still visits them frequently though and realizes that A'emi and T'san have split. Decides to intervene and tries to comfort T'san when he goes to Selenitas to visit. Invents bars and breakfast club with T'san and goes drunk camping with him sometime. He also visits Dy'shi sometimes and he visits A'emi when the greenrider camps out at K'thay's.
Meets bluerider Jazheera. Realizes that she's gone through a rough time. Befriends her and helps her out with her kid, because he likes her a lot and he's a nice guy. He even starts to like Crystera and Jeth gets along with Dhavath, so that's good too.

Name: Jeth
Color: Blue (#000017)
Age: Sixteen turns
Physical Appearance: Jeth is on the larger end of the spectrum for blues, but he isn’t as muscular as most could possibly be. Instead of his energy being put into building muscles, it’s put into being as streamlined as he can possibly. Everything about this dragon is long and lean, from the thinness of his legs to the length of his tail, which is longer than most dragons. This is probably a mutation due to the drugs his mother was given, but it isn’t enough of a mutation to cause him hindrance in flight. Even his head knobs are longer than most dragons. His muzzle is long and thin. The dragon shoots through the air like a bullet.
His scales are truly striking. From a distance, or even closer under the right lighting he looks jet black, hence his name. It takes the straining of the eyes or a flash of sunlight on the scales to reveal his true color; a striking midnight blue, almost metallic in the sun, but not really. It’s impossible to describe the hue of Jeth’s scales as one solid color. Instead, it’s several shades of navy blue and midnight blue swirled and slashed together to make it look metallic. In actuality, Jeth is only a blue, though might seem like more to the untrained eye.
Personality: Jeth is an interesting foil to L’am. Where his rider likes a good time and likes to joke, Jeth is as serious as a heart attack most of the time. It’s odd that such a serious creature would choose such a fun loving boy for its rider, but it didn’t take Jeth ten minutes after he hatched to find L’am. Most of the time, Jeth doesn’t appreciate jokes and it seems like he lacks a humor gland. There’s one exception to this. L’am. Jeth can make L’am laugh almost every time and where the dragon might look angrily at someone how tries to make a joke at his expense, he will allow L’am to.
The dragon can also be described as eternally grumpy, not really delighting in the company of others, dragon or human. Again, L’am is the exception to this, but most others he usually won’t tolerate the presence of. He’s just not great company because he hardly ever speaks. When he does speak, its short, non-committal phrases, and seems like he scarcely ever gets excited at all. Jeth just has the kind of personality that while it drives people away, it causes the more cheerful dragons to try and cheer him up.
He is insanely protective of his rider, to the point where he will stare down absolutely anyone who gets too close to his rider. To his eternal chagrin, L’am likes to surround himself with people, in which cases, Jeth will hover over his rider almost obsessively. He can be quite intimidating at times. Most of the time though, he likes to be by himself, sunning himself far away from humans and other dragons. If there’s one thing that the dragon loves above all else is naps. He loves to sleep every single chance he can get, and his berserker button is being woken up from one of his naps. Everyone knows not to mess with Jeth when he’s sleeping, because they could end up minue an eye…or an arm…or a leg. He’s that serious about his sleep.

I live in her head so I’m pretty much obliged to love her, but even if I weren’t I probably still would (and ain’t that just trippy). That said, there have been many a well-spent, procrastination-filled SPN-a-thon that I absolutely will never regret until I end up failing all my classes; she puts up with my mindless rambling and pleas for entertainment and is pretty much awesome incarnate. Her posts always make me smile and/or d’aw and while she’s not had the best time lately, she’s been so amazingly brave and wonderful. In short, much love forever.
Name- Sam
Species- Firelizard
Color- Brown (#994c09 | #1a0e00 | #a88b6a)
Appearance- Hey there Gigantor, what’ve you eaten lately? This brown’s built unrepentantly big in every way—bronzes step aside, please; this one’s a match for the queens. He’s not quite bulky but he’s decidedly muscular anyway, strength in every sharp masculine line of his frame with an impressive wingspan to match. With a spectacularly long tail to boot he promises to truly be a sight to behold in the air, and despite his awkwardly huge size he pulls off adorable quite well with a penchant for an expression best described as a puppy dog face, complete with wide eyes and a somberly downturned mouth.
He’s an attractive, neat shade of brown, rich in hue and gleaming with rainbows of reds and oranges when he moves. This brown’s a spectacle of mirages, a veritable oil slick in shades of fire; even golden overtones shine down his spine and sides when he’s especially well-oiled. The one spot where he does not flash a perpetual gleam is on his left shoulder where, high and in near the collarbone and his pulse, is a tiny marking as dark as to be black and completely matte; it’s roughly circular in shape with triangles etched out of the center, the outer edges curling into some tribal symbol of the sun. Finally, a paler dusty brown speckles lightly across his hide, collecting most heavily over the curve of his throat and spreading down his sides to vanish along his legs, tail, and wings.
Personality- With big bodies come big brains and plenty of opinions; this brown is easily smarter than a good ninety-some percent of his kin, and has the sweet charm and charisma to pull it off. He’s got a goofy playful side, too, but it’s more often hidden in long-suffering indulgence than ecstatic childish play; his sense of humor, however, still comes out in slightly dry but harmless overtones. It’s easy for this brown to slip into good graces, too; he’s observant and unconsciously adjusts to individuals to present himself in the best possible light, and sure, that includes lying sometimes, but if he’s good at cleaning up after himself, nobody can tell. Mostly.
He’s a big believer in family ties, but his family tends to be very small, consisting of only His and the mindmates that come by proxy with His, but very few others. Significant others that His may have, close friends, whatever—they don’t count. Not that he doesn’t like them, but they’ll never be as important. That said, the brown’s a natural at what fighting firelizards can achieve, and ruthless with it, but he doesn’t like to be; his ideal would simply be domesticity, comfort, home—a normal life minus all the thrills. And yeah, he’ll complain sometimes, but overall he’s a good sport about however things go down.
And like every intellectual ought to be he’s fond of books, preferably ones with pictures since he can’t, you know, read, but any will do and if nothing else his favorite sleeping spot will always be curled up on an open book (occasionally one that His is trying to read if there aren’t any others available, but he doesn’t make a deliberate nuisance of himself). And, peculiarly, salads; he’ll pick a salad any day over meat raw or cooked and he tries to get His to follow suit—it’s healthy, c’mon, isn’t that good?
Name:
Impressed to: L'am
Color: Blue #6082B6 #001A57
Physical Appearance: Perfectly average in size for his colour is this firelizard. His wings are thinner and longer than is the norm for a firelizard and he excels at outmaneouvering most others. They are the most obvious way to tell his mood, rather than his eyes or his posture. They are very nearly always in motion: quick, short jerks if he's tense, excitedly flapping if he's happy, or fluttery and caressing if he's concerned. In form his thin, lean build makes him look almost fragile but if one were to feel his weight on their shoulder they would know he's more sturdy than that.
At first glance this firelizard is nothing special when it comes to hide pattern. He's a simple though fairly pretty blue with grey undertones all across his hide. It's the intricate details that make this blue something a bit extroardinary. Spider-web thin dark blue lines on his wings connect and flow in such a way that it looks like he has literal bird wings tattooed onto his wingsails. This same dark blue rings his neck and has a long triangle reach down to about mid-chest, like a caricature of a terran necktie. Really though it is his wings that tend to get the attention and he tends to get a bit self-conscious about them.
Personality: This blue is amazingly world weary right out of his shell. The world is just doomed to suck and destroy itself with or without his help. He will always give his help when asked, without fail, but he doesn't believe it will ever do any good. His cynicism leads to a wickedly sharp sarcastic wit which he wields mercilessly against anyone in the form of firelizard pictures, different sounding chirps and croons, and emotions translated through His - and oh boy will he insist on His making his point heard. This flit doesn't give his opinion much but when he does people better listen.
This flit has an odd and self-destructive obsession with intoxicants of any kind. Part of it's an inborn curiosity of the conventions of humans like His and another is that it seems to numb the earth shattering realization that everything sucks. His should attempt as much as possible to keep alcohol and anything that gives off unhealthy fumes from this blue. Not an easy task since his grasp of between is extroardinary and he excels at giving the kicked puppy look without seemingly realizing he does it.
This boy clearly has a number of vices but none is more evident than his weakness for flights and females. He will spend sevendays upon sevendays courting any and all female firelizards (and, okay, most female salamandyrs too) in preparation for their flights. The problem is he's charming enough when he wants to be and can wax poetic about the spirituality of two firelizards coming together. He is impossible of being loyal to a single female even though he actually does care for them all as friends.
