Physical Appearance;
The first thing anyone will notice about Jazheera is how absolutely tiny she is. If it weren’t for the definite mature feminism present in her features she would likely be mistaken for a child. Her dark olive skin is naturally fair and requires little work on her part to keep it so. Her features are as soft as her skin; clearly she inherited little in the way of appearance from her father. She has graceful features - an oval face with gently rounded high cheekbones. She does have a firmer chin that doesn’t entirely match the rest of her face. Dark brown eyes rest under gently arched eyebrows. Black hair falls to her waist in gentle curls. She likes to wear her hair in several different styles, most of which keep the long locks from getting in the way of her hands.
Besides the diminutive height, Jazheera is also a slender woman with light curves. ‘Just enough and no more’ is a phrase she often uses to describe herself. She has a lean build that is definitely designed for speed rather than power. Her small hands have become callused and rough from working as a cabin boy in order to gain passage south. She carries herself oddly for a woman. She does not scurry around like a good deal of women from the north do, and neither does she carry herself in a manner normally befitting southern women. No, Jazheera walks as a man would; head lifted proudly, long strides, and arms often crossed. When she cares to show it, Jazheera has an almost catlike grace. She can move very quietly and sure-footedly.
As with the way she carries herself, Jazheera often wears men’s clothes. To be totally honest she generally wears boy’s clothes, as most clothes for men are far too big for her. Her clothes must be sturdy enough to survive what she puts them through and women’s clothes just don’t do it for her. Her choice of clothes makes it all that much easier for her to fit in with the guys. They’re less likely to stare at her modest curves when they’re hidden under shapeless shirts and pants. She normally carries a boot knife and belt knife with her at the very least.
Personality;
Quiet. Meek. Lady-like. Jazheera is none of these things. She is quite the opposite indeed. She is an extremely outspoken individual and she has little to no filter from her brain to her mouth. What she thinks is what she says. Sugar-coating? What’s that? She has no problem standing up for what she believes in. This also ties into her habit of leaping without looking. She is prone to rash actions and following her emotions to whatever outcome awaits. She’s a gutsy one, gotta give her that. She’s also very curious. If it catches her interest she must know all about it. If she doesn’t it’ll drive her mad.
Jazheera is ridiculously loyal to her friends and family. The smallest slight against those that she is close to is a very serious matter to her. She’s loyal to the point of being unable to see the faults in those people and is unable to admit that they could ever have done wrong to whoever may be trying to hurt them. Jazz is always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to the ones she is loyal to, even if it is detrimental to herself. Luckily for her friends and family she is not a clingy or possessive person.
Jazheera’s preferred company are guys. She believes she fits in best with them and genuinely likes to be ‘one of the guys,’ valued for who she is and what she can do and not just ‘valued’ as a woman. She hates being looked down upon just because she is a woman and meant to just Join with whoever her father tells her to. Due to her resentment she refuses to be Joined, ever. She is more than willing to fall in love with someone but she will make it clear right away that she simply will not Join with anyone.
While she never thought it possible, someone has managed to replace her brother in her utmost affections. Part of this is due to her growing maturity. The other, larger part is the fact that it was her daughter that replaced her brother. Crystera is doted upon by her mother without quite being spoiled. She's a surprisingly effective parent to her daughter and quite willing to share her with her estranged ex. Despite the bad break up with Cr'oph Jazheera is incapable of denying her daughter her own father.
History;
Birth and Early Years (2994-3008)
Jazheera was born to minor runner breeder, Mutajheers, and his wife, Jazmina. She and her elder brother Mutashamin and her were very close when they were children. Their home hold of Telgar was raided when Jazz was five turns old and her brother was taken from her at that time. Little Jazz was quite heartbroken to learn that her brother wasn’t likely to return. As all young children do, she bounced back relatively well, though she still remembered her lost brother. Her father assisted in the process by spoiling his daughter.
Her father taught her how to ride runner beasts and even how to fight with a blade despite the fact that where they lived it wasn't right for a female to learn such things. She remained Mutajheers favourite child despite the birth of a younger brother when Jazheera was seven. Jazz proved herself to be an excellent older sibling to him and the other two siblings that followed. She grew up as a headstrong, loyal girl to her family and rarely played with those outside the close family circle. This was due in part because she didn't fit Telgar's image of a female very well.
Life changed for Jazz when she turned thirteen and her father began to distance himself from her. She spent most of that turn under her mother's wing, being taught things a woman was supposed to know. She hated being taught to cook and she outright refused to sit around trying to make or fix clothes. She often escaped the hold on a runner and spent several hours having small adventures, much to the concern of her family who were always afraid she'd be taken during one of her long rides.
Jazheera continued this practice even after she turned fourteen. One day she came back from a long ride and was told that she would be Joined to a man ten turns her senior and a minor holder. She was deeply hurt when she found out that it was her father who had arranged it all. All she could think of was how he'd betrayed her. She refused to Join with the man and ran away from her home after a heated argument with her father. She took one of her father's runners and packed as much travel food she could get her hands on before leaving home.
The Troupe (3008-3009)
While sheltering from Thread in a cave, Jazheera fell in with a group of travelling performers. She picked up many skills very quickly in the competitive environment ranging from juggling to knife throwing to trick riding. She spent most of a turn travelling with them through upper Igen before hearing word that people taken in Telgar raids frequently ended up near Benden Weyr. The troupe bid her farewell with many blessings and a heavy purse of marks as she headed to the closest Hold to Benden Weyr - Bitra Hold.
World Wanderer (3009-3014)
Jazheera had enjoyed travelling with company and she frequently found herself lonely on her solo voyage to Bitra. She met many people and heard many things about the war going on. She eventually heard of the Benden queen that defected to the little southern weyr when she paid to spend a night in a small hold on her fifteenth nameday - something of a treat for her since she usually slept under the stars to save marks. The boy who told her stories of the war also said he dreamed of going south to escape the war plagued north. She continued her journey after that night and eventually reached Bitra. She began to hear rumours of a Telgar boy the Lord Hold was hunting for and they directed her to Bitra's capital. It was the rumoured boy's name that gave her some hope. Mutasim was similar enough to Mutashamin after all.
Life in Bitra Hold was harder than anything Jazheera could imagine. She took a job in a tavern to listen for rumours about Mutasim as well as rumours about the war. She was slightly relieved to hear about the death of Benden's Weyrleader who had committed unbelievable attrocities. That Selenitas Weyr was the cause of his death caused Jazz to believe in the little weyr even more. Still, she was unable to pay too much attention to the happy south. Within her first turn at Bitra her runner had been killed and her marks were severely diminished. Jazheera managed to get by until she was nineteen and she heard the rumours that Mutasim had been taken south by a dragonrider.
Jazz travelled to Nerat Hold to catch a ship south by foot. When she arrived at the hold she was pleasantly surprised to find it a very different place from Bitra. She found herself stuck in the Hold for a while trying to figure out how to get a ship south. She had no marks to spare and female crafters were highly looked down upon in Nerat. In the end, Jazheera gave up and snuck onto a ship carrying goods for the Southern Hold Gather coming up. She was discovered aboard some time after the ship left port and the crew grudgingly allowed her to work as a cabin boy where she quickly proved her worth. By the end of the trip she'd befriended the men and a girl by the name of Ruliana. The two girls bonded over the same cause; searching for a lost brother.
Selenitas Weyr (3014-3016)
Jazz quickly discovered her brother who no longer remembered her when she arrived at Southern Hold. Hurt by this fact, she followed him to Selenitas Weyr anyway. At the same time as getting closer with older M'ta Jazz managed to Impress blue Dhavalth at Hepaticath's clutch while trying to emulate her brother. Within the same event filled turn she also managed to Impress a salamandyr she came to name Tod. Not even done her weyrling training, Jazz escaped with her classmates when Wasteland took over thus separating her from M'ta once again. Along with her classmates and some older riders from Selenitas Weyr they discovered Burimyu Weyr.
Burimyu Weyr (3016-3017)
Jazheera's secretive life at Burimyu began and she adapted quickly. After Bitra she doubted anything could ever seriously shake her. She met Cr'oph at Burimyu and hit off a relationship with him. They survived by stealing tithes and sneaking into the Hyphen Gather, though some did get caught in the latter event. She was happy to see her brother again at the Gather though she received grim news from him. Not all was well at either weyr though she rather thought she had the better deal. That was until they lost Meira to mysterious predators and Burimyu was filled with tension waiting for Jingth's clutch to hatch. She knew that day would be a mix of joy and sorrow.
Tithes were once again stolen but the second time they were caught and lost a member of their little family. The earthquake struck not too long after that and the weyrs became one again. Reunited with her brother, Jazz was overjoyed despite his disapproval of her relationship with Cr'oph. A relationship she had noticed didn't seem to be progressing any further. It bothered her some but she'd fallen prey to his charm and was blind to some of the growing issues there. Of greater concern to Jazheera was the very near loss of her salamandyr Tod. The green survived the plague that swept through the weyr but her sight became greatly impaired and the baby-like Tod lived in near constant fear of the shadows in her eyes.
Changing Times (3018-3020)
Surprisingly it was not the war that changed Jazheera's life the most. Sure she fought in the war and whatnot but it was her pregnancy that changed it all. Survivors with a weyrmate got a couple unofficial perks post-war, after all. A bit of miscommunication resulted in Jazz not going between right away and then she completely forgot about it when she found Cr'oph in bed with another woman. Furious and hurt she ended things immediately and shut him completely out. That was, until she realized she'd gotten pregnant of all things. Reluctantly she let the bronzerider know - and yes, damnit, it was his - but she refused anything from him until she was born.
January 3rd Crystera was born and Jazz very nearly lost her life. She was in critical care for the first couple days of her daughter's life but when she recovered enough strength her first demand was for her daughter. The baby was put in her arms and she was instantly in love. That Cr'oph had helped look after the girl when she couldn't was appreciated if not acknowledged. Adjusting to the baby took some time, especially after she was assigned to Inverness and separated from the only family she had left.
A New Life (3020-present)
Split from friends and family with a newborn baby to look after and no weyrmate to help, many a weaker woman would have cracked under the pressure. Jazz, however, was a fighter. If she didn't precisely thrive at Inverness as it was completed she at least didn't fall. Over time she settled into things nicely and even managed to make a new close friend at her new home in the form of bluerider L'am. She made regular trips to Selenitas to visit her friends and family there and to let Crystera see her father as well. She was a bit worn down by she was alive and at least partially satisfied. It would be enough for a while.
Dhavalth

Blue #C3E6F2
8 (July 3014)
Blue #C3E6F2
Physical Appearance;
A white dragon! No, not really. Dhavalth is just a very, very light blue that’s a mere shade off white, like pure snow that is almost enough to blind a person if you stare too long in sunshine. His hide is not completely uniform in color, though, instead marked by a vibrant medium blue on his legs and nosetip, as well as a runnersaddle-shaped marking at the base of his neck. The overall effect is of a runner clipped for a race or show, and anyone who gets a good look at Dhavalth will be amazed at how clean the boundaries between colors are. Most dragons have hides that tend to fade into different colors, but Dhavalth’s hide shows clear lines between areas of different pigments. It makes his coloration seem very crisp and quite appealing to the eye, such that he’ll probably get quite the number of looks.
As far as body shape goes, Dhavalth is quite long and slender, almost gracefully so. His tail is long and just thick enough to keep from being whippy, paired with overlong wings with nearly transparent membranes. There is nothing on him that is bulky or thick, instead a long, thin, streamlined shape that looks as though it might belong in water as much as it does in air. His body is very light, and were it not for the vibrancy of his hide and the speed of his movements, he would probably look rather delicate. His hide being pale sometimes can not adequately display the lean muscle beneath, for though he is a thin sort of creature, Dhavalth lacks no strength. His is simply whipcord strength, not the bulky force that others can provide. His legs seem a bit shorter than one would expect given his size, so he scurries closer to the ground than most dragons.
Unsurprisingly, Dhavalth’s shorter legs make moving on the ground just a little more difficult, so he tends to be more graceful in air and water, moving his body about like a serpent. Combined with his overlarge wings, he has a surprising amount of agility. Folding those wings for tight maneuvers might be challenging, but he could pull it off with enough training and practice. He can bend his body in surprisingly funny ways, and he could probably slither around with the help of his legs if he really wanted to. He might not be the strongest of blues, but he has quite the endurance, his overlarge wings and light body allowing him to soar for quite some time if the need should arise.
Personality;
White knight, anyone? Dhavalth has a very narrow-minded view on right and wrong, and he pursues those ideals with single-minded determination. He is dedicated and devoted to a fault, relentless in his aim to do what he believes to be right. His moral compass is, thankfully, pointed in the right direction, or the weyr would have a problem on its hands. His duty, in his own mind, is the protection of the weak and helpless. Sure, those weak and helpless creatures might be bigger than himself, but he is their guardian. He sees it as his responsibility to keep the weyr safe from intruders and internal chaos and fighting, so expect to see him sitting judgment over all sorts of arguments. His logic and wisdom might seem a bit biased at times, but he feels he should be given credit for doing his very best.
Unfortunately, his tendency to take charge and responsibility might get him in trouble with those higher up in the hierarchy. It is not that he believes he is better than the rest, really. He just knows what has to be done, he thinks, and he therefore devotes unending amounts of time to getting things done. He is not afraid of consequences to himself, and he would willingly put his own life at risk for the sake of saving another. His might be a little nervous at first to be bonded to such a risk-taker, but perhaps age, time, and good mentors will mellow Dhavalth’s ‘white knight’ tendencies just a little. His sense of duty and honor will never diminish, though, and it will be rare to see him picking fights simply for the sake of pride. That would stain his honor.
Dhavalth is… something of a ladies’ dragon. Philandering is the name of the game until he finds his one true lady love. He is a complete romantic when it comes to finding true love, concerned with finding a damsel in distress that needs constant rescuing. This, he believes, is the female for him. Until then... he is not above chasing whatever pretty tail passes by his nose. He simply chases most greens, but those who catch his special attention will find themselves being courted most wholeheartedly. He seems to grasp the human idea of romance and gifts, so the green being courted will find herself showered in flowers and serenaded with not-so-harmonic croons. His idea of courtly love and knighthood extends to his speech, for Dhavalth speaks entirely in rhymes. It is too bad he can not sire a clutch, for he feels that would be the ultimate display of his strength and prowess. Instead, he’ll settle for His making lots of little hatchlings. His will have to make sure to keep an eye on Dhavalth. This blue is not above setting His up for a little woohoo.
Tod

Green #E5FDE3
8 (December 3014)
Green #E5FDE3
Physical Appearance;
Tiny. In fact at first glance you could probably almost mistake this little lady for a white. Upon reaching her full growth she will be no bigger that the length of a woman’s middle finger. Proportionately she is also a bit odd. Her head almost seems to be to large for her neck to support but she manages somehow. Her legs are short and stubby and seem almost to small for her body. In fact unless you look very closely it is hard to notice them at all. Every part of her is simply tiny and delicate. Huge eyes take up most of her little skull and give her a childish look that she will never loose. Her tail makes up over half of her length and strangely she is entirely devoid of wings at all. There are not even bony nubs where wings ought to have formed. Simply nothing. Around her head are the same bony spines devoid of and frill membrane. Hers are not hard like her siblings however. In fact they are soft spongy and entirely flexible. She also seems to be lacking in the teeth department. In fact she only has two front fangs. His means the majority of her diet will have to be made up of liquids or puréed meat. All in all this green looks as if she should have spent more time in her shell. Perhaps she hatched to early?
Color wise she is a green so pale it could almost not even be called green. More like greenish white. This color is pure all over her body only darkening in eyeliner around her eyes further accentuating their over large status. The only other marking she sports is in the middle of her tail. Instead of having double eyelet markings like her siblings she has only one. Not on her wings but in the middle of her tail. You wouldn’t even notice this unless you look extremely close however. The iris of this marking is white and the pupil is made up of the same green white shade the rest of her hide sports.
Tod is partially blind - she sees things in shadows due to the effects of an old illness.
Personality;
Childish this little green is completely innocent. In fact she has the mentality of a three year old at the best of times and a infant at the worst of times. Everything about her screams baby. She is fond of making cooing sounds when she is content and screeching cries not unlike a real human baby when upset. She must be with her bonded or someone she trusts at all times as well. If left alone for any amount of time she panics and cries loudly until hers comes to collect her. She seems entirely dependent on her bonded for anything and everything. Like a child she is curious bout nearly everything and everyone and anything small enough will be put in her mouth. This green is also terrified of the dark and absolutely refuses to sleep unless a small amount of light is provided for her to keep the monsters away. Thankfully she spends about half her day sleeping. She is quite fond of curling up in her bonded’s clothes to sleep. Somewhere where she can be touching skin against skin is preferable. Much like a puppy in the way she exists, she plays hard until she exhausts herself completely and then falls into deep slumber. Upon waking she will be hungry and again she lets hers know with crying. Basically this mandyr seems to be permanently in the infant stage.
Verbalizations will be slow in coming for this little girl and even then her vocabulary will likely remain very small. Pronunciation wise she will speak like a infant first learning to talk and will likely be very hard for other people to understand. No will be one of her favorite words to use. Even if she doesn’t use it the way it is supposed to be used. Perhaps she just likes the way it sounds. Or maybe it is just her way of being bratty. It really is hard to tell. She will be nervous and scared around most other draconic creatures until she gets used to them. Once she does get used to them however she will be more than happy to play with them, cuddle, or let them care for her as needed. This little girl perhaps fortunately will never mature. She will never get glowy to run. Nor will she chase. She seems to be permanently immature. Call it Peter Pan Syndrome.
