Kaius didn't really say much to that. They both knew, that when it came right down to it, he wouldn't let any "girl stuff" scare him away from his two best friends. Not that he would enjoy their banter about which boys were the cutest and which color their hair looked best as, but just hanging out with them was enough for Kaius, who looked down at the girl when she spoke, a little slow on the uptake. He blinked at her a couple times as she spoke in such a flustered manner, and at length, he caught it and grinned widely, chuckling at his friend while she muttered in her flustered way. " I didn't say a word."
When she stopped, he glanced up. As stated earlier, Kaius was a little slow on the uptake. Unfortunately for him, that also meant he didn't notice the bronze and green whers until they were nearly upon the pair of them. Also, unfortunately for Sena this time, as she backed away, she was still attached to Kaius, and the tall boy didn't move, still not understanding what was happening until the both collapsed beneath the razor sharp talons of newborn whers.
Later, he would appreciate the fact that they were at least trying to be careful, but as white hot pain sliced through his side, it was difficult to feel appreciative in the least. As soon as the pair feel, King hissed in pain and took to the air. " Fuck..." The boy hissed in unison with his salamandyr. The pain in his side seemed all encompassing, and even now that the babies were gone, he was still burning. " Sena?" He asked through gritted teeth, holding onto his hip and side as if that were going to stop the blood. In actuality, the whers had sliced the boy from thigh up to his ribs. The cuts that sliced down his side in parallel lines weren't deep enough to be gushing blood, but they were deep enough to need attention asap.
He was relieved when he hear Sena, no matter how hurt she sounded. He wasn't happy that she was hurt, but he was immensely pleased that she was conscious and aware enough to be concerned about him. The boy reached for her, trying to raise himself up into a sitting position. He failed epically though and instead settled on crawling towards Sena and grabbing her hand, a chuckle mingling with a cough. " Don't apologize, stupid. You didn't summon the baby whers. I told you the bronze would like you." Another hiss and then a chuckle. " I just wish it hadn't liked you so much."
King hadn't been able to hover in the air too long, so instead, he landed on the flailing, ungainly pile of bleeding limbs and torn clothing. The pain he was feeling from the mental bond was intense, and he crooned in a concerned manner at his bonded and his bonded's girl...but the girl had a point. He should go get help. Chittering lightly, he flapped his tired wings and glided off of the bleeding pile of teenagers, hitting the ground running and skittering as quickly as his little limbs would take him, straight outside towards Serissa, Anna, and M'gnum. The salamandyr crooned and chirruped, climbing up Anna's body to settle lightly on her head, wrapping his tail around her neck and half rising on his hind legs to paw lightly at Serissa's shirt.
You help? Human mender, yes? Needed now please. He said very, very quickly towards Serissa. Without missing a beat, the mandyr climbed the rest of the way up the dragonless woman's body, making his way from her shoulders over to the bronzerider's and flicking his ear with his tail. None of his words were hidden from anyone at this point. Mine hurt. Leaking, broked. Follow please? Now now now now. With that, he glided off of M'gnum's shoulder and glided back to the ground, skittering towards the pile that was Sena and Kaius. COME! Couldn't they see how urgent this was?
She hadn't realized how much Piden would have liked this new Saphor. If she had, she probably wouldn't have changed. But, if she thought about it more deeply, she probably would have still. The thought of tormenting Piden was entirely too tempting to pass up. Sure, she had mostly forgiven him for knocking her up, abandoning she and her unborn child, and pretending that they didn't exist...but not completely. It was nice to see him squirm, even a little. She didn't back away as he grabbed her chin, only smirked at him haughtily as he did so. " I wouldn't doubt that, Your ego is quite unmatched." She chuckled and lifted a hand to run her fingers through his hair. " But do you have enough room in there?"
A hiss and the sound of bodies hitting the ground startled her and she dropped her hand, gaze darting to the hatching. She saw the teenagers piled on the ground and she was slightly concerned, but Piden had other ideas. Before she knew what was happening, his hands were on her and he was behind her. Eyes were widened in a slightly startled expression that he wouldn't be able to see, but as he leaned forward and she felt his breath on her ear, she composed herself quickly, leaning back against his body and turning her mouth towards his head. Her voice was smooth, and huskily soft, a mere purr. " Are you afraid of the babies, Piden? How awful for you." She reached back and brushed his jawbone with a finger.

Annotolli wrinkled her nose into a tiny frown. Serissa didn't sound like she was feeling much better. She still looked awfully sad. She glanced up at Xelos, and the blue just circled, chirping hopefully. He didn't think any of his tricks were good enough to cheer this one up! Serissa had told her to go ahead and Anna did want to go but... How could she leave the lady alone and sad?
M'gnum showed up then, and Anna beamed and waved at him, while still clinging to Serissa's leg. He seemed like a nice man, maybe he could make the lady smile. "Now we can go together!" the young girl insisted brightly. She really didn't understand what the two of them were talking about, but the lady needed to go inside, right? Anna wasn't sure why it would be so hard. Wher babies were sure to be wonderful and beautiful! Yet she knew she still had a lot to learn. Being a child did have its advantageous.
"Please?" Anna tugged gently at Serissa's arm. See? They would all go and everything would be alright.

As more eggs hatched and more gangly looking whers ended up wandering around Ivy wasn't paying attention - she was too busy looking at Cainith and Cainsk. She glanced over towards the Candidates who had been knocked over and mauled by some of the whers. Concern flickered over her features for a moment but then Cainsk was broadcasting images at her - though she didn't realize it was from the wher. Attention was back on Cainith and her cheeks were flushed now as a smile tugged at her full lips, "I'm happy for you."
Standing there she felt rather out of place. Everyone else seemed to be there for the hatching - where as she was just there for Cainith. Looking down a bit she caught sight once more of his hand. Without thinking about it she ripped off the bottom hem of her shirt - exposing some of her abdomen - and then reached out for his hand. "You're still bleeding. Really the whole blooding thing is a bit barbaric. No offense Cainsk."
Perses hissed again, Butiful no help ugleh. Biiig ugleh. Go go. Lots of ugleh nightbabies. No wants thems. Thems might hurts butiful like thems hurt the other dumdums. Ivy shushed her blue 'mandyr and shook her head a bit apologetically - Perses hadn't bothered speaking just to Ivy, so anyone close by to her would have heard him. "He's just jealous, doesn't like me paying attention to anyone but him. Should hear what he says about Eros some days."
A light chuckle came from the girl and she wrapped her torn shirt around Cainith's hand and tied it off. Keeping pressure on the wound she looked once more towards where the fallen Candidates were. "There is a healer here, right?" A glance around and she saw someone near the entrance coming in, their attention seemed focused on the two injured Candidates so she assumed they were there to help. If not, well she only had so much more fabric left on her shirt - having to rip it all off to patch up bleeding people wouldn't be the end of the world but she'd rather avoid it.
---------------------------------
Swithin watched from his place leaning against the wall. These wher hatchlings were an interesting bunch to say the least. He watched as the Golds interacted amongst themselves, then as an interesting hued hatchling helped another hatch. A Bronze? Hm, this was a nice clutch if it had a Gold and a Bronze. He watched the mini mauling occur but made no move yet to help - surely there was a healer and right now he would only be in the way. He'd be an easy target for the younglings to maul as well if he moved in to help. Still he stepped away from the wall and waited, watching.
Swisk for his part was watching the hatchlings carefully. They hadn't meant to hurt the Candidates, and he sent them a reassuring mental brush. It was okay, the humans would be fine. They should Impress, no? And the Bronze finally seemed to. Oh, and the last egg had hatched! Twins? A blue and a green. Lovely. He loved wher hatchings, they were so interesting, weren't they?
A light croon from the frail looking Blue as he sat back on his haunches and watched with His.

Eikask looked positively devious when the Mutual Egg gave way to its two inhabitants. She'd passed the egg earlier and noted the two distinctive feelings it seemed to hold. It had been nothing more than an educated guess, really, but clearly she was the queen for having even had an inkling. Not at all normal, she answered her mother quickly. She glanced at the older gold when she moved but it was not because she was upset her mother would be leaving soon. Has it never occured in your clutches?
Oh. They were quite not okay, weren't they? The Prophetic Wher continued to watch them leak, eyes whirling an unhappy colour at their plight. It was quite an accident and she wished she could help but she didn't know how. There was pitiful creel from the nest suddenly and the Mutual Blue made a dash from his part of the giant egg towards the injured folk. The teal wher stood to intercept her brother's run until she noticed the whirl of his eyes. She nodded her head sharply in understanding but still moved to block him. A couple of short croons later the small Mutual Blue - who looked mighty odd - seemed a little calmer but still quite distressed.
The blue moved over much slower than before, tripping and stumbling the rest of the way. He crooned and creeled sadly at his poor injured person. That just wasn't fair and so very scary that he couldn't touch, reassure, comfort. (Who he wanted to receive those benefits wasn't exactly clear, though. He'd rather like that for himself too.) Oh, you are not okay. Not at all! Oh, poor baby, poor darling. We'll find a fixer soon, oh yes, oh yes. Sensk will find one for his Sena! And then perhaps he can get food? He's awfully hungry.
Evidentally the blue's scramble to Sena and his subesquent Impression brought the gold's attention to the whole situation. With considerably less fanfare, the Recurring Gold finally abandoned her post near the nest and approached the forming knot of whers and people. She crooned comfortingly at Sensk and glanced at the approaching Serissa. Good. Well then, Kaius Mine, you'll be perfectly fine. I promise. Your Kaiusk will take good care of you, and I will make the mender take care of you too.
The Prophetic Wher continued their vigil despite their siblings Impressing to the ones they had injured with their brother. They already knew who they wanted and had decided it might be better to wait just a bit longer. Besides, the Mutual Green was finally moving about, walking among the candidates confidently. Might as well let her make her choice first. The teal wher doubted that the green would want her choice. Even if she did the Prophetic Wher didn't plan on letting go of their find.

Mutual BlueBonded to: Sena Name: Sensk Color: Blue #000088 #007FFFPhysical Appearance: The Mutual Blue is naturally quite small due to having shared an egg with his sister. He's about average sized...for a green. In general he also appears rather stunted in his developement. His ridges are barely there and his eyes seem far too large for his head. His tail has little nubs instead of the typical fork. His claws will never grow out into proper points. In over all build he's on the scrawny side and certainly will never be anything special to look at. Some may even go so far as to call him ugly because of the too-thin layer of muscle over his bones that make a fair number of them visible. He's not sickly but he appears so often. His wings are absolutely tiny, like a salamandyr's wings. In colour, this blue is a pleasant ultramarine blue. The colour shifts from shade to shade over his body to seem like rippling waves of soft fabric or water. The effect is usually quite pleasing and may distract people from his unpleasant form. His legs have multiple bands of comparably bright azure. They create a rather odd picture since one leg's banding will start right at the ankle and the leg's pair will start where the first band left off. There's also a thick band - or collar, if you will - around the blue's neck that is flecked with the ultramarine blue. He's certainly a bit of an eye catcher between his odd build and his striking colouration, especially since the azure tends to blend oddly when he runs to make a rather trippy effect. This wher's movements are frequently twitchy and nervous. His tail is just about always flicking from side to side and he jumps frequently at seemingly nothing. Granted, they're small jumps and he goes back to his wary watchfullness pretty quickly after that. He's also extremely clumsy, much like his dam is. This clumsiness makes him move slowly in an effort to try and preserve his dignity though he's capable of being as fast as the average green if he can manage to keep his feet under him and untangled. His wings don't even allow the smallest amount of gliding so he's stuck trying to improve his walking skills. A bit of a pointless goal since he'll never be anything more than clumsy. Personality: Cowardly is the first thing that will come to mind with the Mutual Blue. Oddly enough he'll appear as less of a coward to others than His because he'll actively volunteer to do scary things to impress his twin sister. His will be subjected to all the mental terror doing those things will entail but he's fairly dependable when he pushes himself to be. He's far more useful in situations he's not afraid but those come few and far between. Usually something simple like fetching something soft for His. Yes, that's safe. Speaking of soft things and fears - this wher will need something to cuddle when he sleeps to protect him from his fear of the day. Whether it be His, the Mutual Green, or some kind of giant stuffed wher won't matter. There is a reason any potential stuffed toy will need to be a wher. He doesn't trust other creatures in the least. Too different, too unusual, and oh Faranth but most of them can be about in the day and not get their eyes seared out of their sockets! Eep! If His has or obtains any pets this wher will actively avoid or ignore them because he just cannot handle interacting with them. Should His force him to try he will most likely break down into frightened yips and earth-shattering whines until he's allowed not to. It's far easier to let this wher have his way when it comes to things that worry or frighten him because...well, the upset this wher feels will be broadcasted to His quite heavily. Speaking of upsetting things, other wherhandlers won't bother this wher but most "daylighters" will. With the odd exception of young children. This blue gets along with them very well and will frequently think of the children as a reason not to outright hate the world for being so scary. Not that he's really capable of hate. He's adorabley goofy-happy when he's not scared completely witless even if he's not terribly intelligent by any standards. At the very least he's usually good for a laugh, whether at his expense or with him because he does know a lot of jokes. He's also completely devoted to his twin sister. He will not even consider ever chasing any other green. Recurring GoldBonded to: Kaius Name: Kaiusk Color: Gold #CFB53B #CDAD00Physical Appearance: This gold is on the small side for her colour, only about the same size as an average large bronze. Despite this smaller size, this gold is frighteningly strong. A fair portion of her size is actually sheer muscle and she wears it extremely well; this gold is far from being bulky. Her claws and fangs are wickedly sharp, too. Not a gold you want to mess with. Her tail breaks from this strongly muscled form. Her tail is almost whip-like in how long and thin it is. It's also so dextrous it actually borders on being prehensile. If that wasn't bad enough, her wings are positively huge. To the point where she actually has trouble folding them to her back. Throughout her life, the tips of her wings will slowly get more rough due to the fact that she lets them drag along the ground a little. The Recurring gold has a fairly simple but striking colouration. Most of her is a simple old-gold colour with patches where the shine of her hide seems to have simply rubbed off. Curiously, these patches fall over places where friction might be frequent, such as her belly, joints, her shoulders where a person might sit. A newer, though not much brighter, shade of gold circles this gold's eyes like giant lenses. These 'lenses' are so large they almost touch each other. This same newer gold colour creates three bands around this gold's form, much like a clownfish's markings. The first one starts just behind her head and covers her entire neck, the second one covers her middle and part of her wings, and the final one starts at the base of her tail and stops half way along her tail. While one might expect a gold to try and move with grace, this girl will shatter those expectations. This is not to say she's even half as clumsy as her dam. She's not. Every movement she does is simply functional. It works and it doesn't matter how it looks. There is a beauty in the simple mechanics of moving, after all. That said, there's a faintly predatory undertone to her movements. She's so unconsciously in tune with what she would be in nature that it translates a little physically. Her huge wings will hinder her in her youth but eventually she'll find a way to work with them, in both simple walking and in gliding so perfect it's actually beautiful. Personality: The Recurring Gold is odd for her colour in some aspects and yet perfect in others. This gold is completely humble in regards to her colour. A shiny hide means nothing special to her. In fact, she tends to favour browns and most especially blues. They're just kind of...really adorable for males? She gets along with greens well too, of course, but cute and female seem to go paw-in-paw with her. So yes, humble and warm and friendly is this gold. She's everyone's friend but most importantly she is everyone's mother too. In that aspect she's the perfect gold. Always so concerned about everyone and willing to scold them if they're being silly. This gold's scolding is nothing to sneeze at either. She's downright terrifying when she scolds, teeth bared and tail usually hooking around any nearby objects and sending them flying towards the scoldee. She's a great mediator between others if only because she'll snarl right in their faces and tell them everything they're doing that's stupid in whatever argument they may be having then tell them to make up. Usually, others listen. Despite her build and her occasional switch-temper this gold is highly non-violent. She can fight, a little, but she doesn't unless it's dire circumstances. This gold's prowess lies not necessarily in strength or intelligence. She's smart enough, certainly, but still way outshadowed by some of her clutchsiblings. No, this gold's greatest asset is her understanding of the emotions of all things. She could use that understanding to manipulate others but she doesn't. She uses this understanding to inspire and to comfort. She goes to great lengths to ensure her position in others' hearts that she can be confided in and will be there for them when they really need it. This may strike some as an attempt to be seen as a leader but she really, really doesn't mean it that way. Let the big tough males lead if they like.

“If that’s how whers show affection, I am real glad most of ‘em don’t like me,” Sena commented, still dazed and a little nauseous from the agony licking up her legs. What did this Weyr even have against her being able to walk, anyway? She chewed on her lip hard to keep from making embarrassing sounds as pressed her hands against her leg, palms sliding slickly in the blood. She blinked, using her wrist to wipe away tears, and as Sydney knelt near them, dropped her head onto her best friend’s shoulder, mumbling a muffled, “I hope this scars, I think at the very least I’d like some scars to prove myself by…”
The pain was ebbing into a steady throb, but Sena still stayed curled as close to Sydney as possible, adding an apologetic, “I’m real sorry if I get blood on you…I hear washin’ it outta clothes is a bitch, right? I guess these are ruined, crap, I liked these too.”
Which was why she didn’t notice the approach of the blue wher until he was practically right there, and despite the sympathy and fear and love that pressed into her mind, Sena still flinched away with a startled inhale, and then huffed as the motion jarred her injuries even more. “Oh sh—oh.” Stunned recognition dawned, and she blinked twice before trying to squirm towards the wher. “Hey—s’allright, s’okay, look, I got you, Sydney’s like the best Healer ever, she’s got this, this ain’t nothin’ I promise, c’mere sweetheart,” until she’d coaxed the blue up against her side where he couldn’t accidentally hurt her more, curling one arm around him until the sick knot of fear in her stomach eased.
Sensk whined, high and anxious, his upset blatantly clear as he tried to mold himself into Sena’s side, ignoring the blood streaking his hide because of it. Sena blinked again, stunned, and then offered her palm, tacky with drying blood, to the wher, “’s convenient for bloodin’, at least, nice of your brother and…your uh, sibling to get that ready for you I guess…oh, hey, what?” at the comforting croon that sounded very close by and very not Sensk, whose gaze steadied a little more at the gold’s reassurance. Sena patted one hand down his side again and turned around, only to go wide-eyed at the baby gold.
“Uh,” she said blankly, taking the rainbows of her eyes, “Is she…?”
Sensk made another worried sound, licking her hand in a way she suspected was intended to be soothing rather than hungry for her blood, which was nice, and nuzzled even closer. The boy, he supplied, his muzzle settling against the crease of her stomach in lieu of being able to climb into Sena’s lap, please let the fixers fix you before worrying about that though…

“ I don’t really know.” Kaius admitted through gritted teeth. The pain from his wounds was losing some of its’ sharpness, but it didn’t go away. It kinda felt like it would never go away. The thought almost caused the boy to panic, but he only wrapped himself around his injured friend, grabbing Sydney’s hand as the older girl knelt near them. “ Don’t let her get blood on you, Syd. You’ll never be able to get that out.” He joked, nudging Sena and Sydney playfully, trying to put a little lightheartedness into an otherwise awful situation.
At this point, all thoughts of her hatching had long since fled. He had only been there as support to Sena, and he vaguely wondered if he was going into shock, because he didn’t realize that King was gone. Not much was being processed by the boy right now, not the lurking androgynous green, but the blue that bounded up to Sena was certainly noted.
“ Sena?” He asked seriously, watching the wher’s rainbow whirls of impression. He didn’t even need to see Sena practically scoop the wher into her lap to realize that she had indeed impressed. His eyes widened in happiness. “ WHAT DID I TELL YOU?” He practically yelled, and probably would have if his ribs didn’t burn like a bitch at the moment. “ What’s his name” Kaius asked, grinning. Perhaps this day hadn’t been a total loss after all? She hadn’t impressed the bronze like he had hoped, but a blue was good, even if it was tiny.
He was so occupied with trying to force himself up and Sena’s impression that noticing the gold coming towards him wasn’t big on his list of priorities…that was until she entered his mind completely, and he jerked her head around in stock silence. Only staring. All thoughts of trying to get up were eliminated from his mind as he watched the gold. “Kaiusk?” He asked incredulously.
No, no, no! He wasn’t a wher candidate! “You’re obviously mistaken, little gold. I’m not a wher candidate…and I’m a boy” Don’t be silly. The gold commented, padding up to him and licking the side of his (and he just realized it) tear streaked face. I am yours and you are most certainly mine. Kaius knew fighting impression was a futile battle, but he tried, pushing himself away from the cold with a pained whimper. “ Go choose one of the girls. Please. I can’t…” Why would I want one of them with you here. She pushed herself closer to Kaius, licking his face and wrapping her tail around him. Now stop fussing, you’ll make it worse.
Blinking, he finally gave in to the gold’s ministrations, wincing as she licked at the wound on his side, unknowingly cementing the bond between them. “ Sena?” He asked in a low voice, using Kaiusk as a support to pull himself up into a pained seated position. The boy’s eyes were wide. This was not how he had expected his day to go. Not at all.

Daniel watched M'gnum warily, but the Bronzerider was allowed to touch Serissa as long as she wasn't objecting. She wasn't. In fact, his arm on her shoulder steadied her a bit, and she ate his words up, even if there was a small part of her mind that couldn't help but call bullshit. Old habits died hard, and Serissa was no exception. Luckily, that small part of her mind was short-circuited by some combination of grief and thankfulness, and whatever biting remark she might have made died on her tongue. She did murmur, "I asked to be scheduled, not sure if that counts as destiny," but she kept her voice low enough that M'gnum would have to be listening close to hear. Now was not really the time to argue that point.
She let herself be led, even letting her hand slip into the little girl's with a slight smile. Daniel, vaguely disgruntled by all this human activity, took to the air and glided above the little trio, allowing Serissa a free arm to check her pack of supplies with. Because even before the door swung open, there was a salamandyr asking (shockingly politely) for her to come and fix what Serissa assumed was his broken human. She was needed, it seemed, and sooner rather than later.
Maybe it was the salamandyr that launched her in to action, or M'gnum and the little girl's support, or maybe it was just her old training grinding back into gear. As soon as Serissa saw the downed and bleeding candidates - wherlings? - though, she hustled over, two or three long strides bringing her up next to Kaius and Sena. Both of them were still on the ground, so Serissa knelt between them, robotically unpacking redwort, numbweed, and bandages. After disinfecting her hands, she started cleaning wounds and firing off questions, pausing only long enough for each of them to answer before asking the next. "Don't move. How do your heads feel? Mmhm. Stay still, please, I'll check for concussion in a minute. Did you hit your head when you fell? Did you hit anything else? Does anything feel hurt that isn't obvious?"
Piden chuckled at Saphor, letting her dig at his ego go. He knew he appeared confident, and he knew just as well that some people considered that a bad thing. HE liked it, and he was the only one that really counted, wasn't he? And me, Pidesk interjected with an amused rumble that made it clear that he, too, liked Piden just as he was. Anyway, Piden was much more interested in Sahpor leaning back against him like that, which she was certainly doing on purpose, something Piden didn't mind in the least. Pulling her even closer - everyone was looking at the blood and the shiny whers after all, no one was paying a lick of attention to them - Piden leaned his head in, listening intently to hear her purred words over the noise of the hatching.
And he heard, alright. He very nearly let Saphor go. Instead, he did his best to cover the twitch, although his jaw tightened under her touch. "Always have been," he replied with a sort of half-forced nonchalance, deliberately ignoring the double entendre. "Unfortunately for me, they tend to like me more than is strictly necessary," he added, glancing over at Pidesk and Phai again. More double meanings. It was exhausting.
The hatching seemed to be winding down, though, and somewhere in the bustle a friend of Phaiden's had appeared. Sliding his hands forward and across her hips, Piden pulled Saphor further back into the shadows, doing his best to turn her so she was half facing him. Putting on his sexiest look, he murmured, "Look, the wherlings have mostly found Theirs, and Phai will be way too excited to go to bed for a few hours, yet. Pidesk can keep an eye on her for a bit, and her little friend there will keep her entertained; what say we get out of here? I've missed you, Saph. I'd love a chance to... catch up."

Cainith grinned wider as he saw Ivy smile and flush, imagining she might have gotten the same image he had. "And I'm just happy you're here with me," he replied to her words, feeding the last of the meat chunk to Cainsk.
He was looking around for something to clean the wound off with, when suddenly the sound of tearing cloth caught his attention and he looked in shock as Ivy ripped the edge of her blouse off, then bound his hand. Startled into silence as she neatly wrapped his wounded hand, he finally regained his speech and said, "Er... you didn't have to do that, sweets. Of course, I do appreciate it, but you didn't have to ruin your shirt just for me," he added, taking a moment to appreciate the midriff she had just exposed. Cainsk, for his part, crooned at Ivy, as if to say, "No offense taken."
Working off a sudden urge, Cainith enveloped Ivy in his huge arms, hugging her and giving her a quick kiss on the lips, followed by him saying, "Thank you, again, for being here for me. I know you don't want to Impress a wher, and you didn't have to be here... but I'll be honest that this event of my life is made better by having my favorite girl here with me to share it." Releasing her from the embrace, he suddenly realized something... he had no idea what he was supposed to do now. Unlike the ritualized and regimented dragon hatchings, this wher hatching was a low-key affair, and looking around the room, he noticed that all the other whers had hatched, and it seemed all had Impressed except for two... and none of the other new wherlings seemed to know what to do now, either.
Saying to Ivy, "Wait here, I'm gonna find out what I'm supposed to do next," he looked around the room for another wherhandler, and spotted Swithin leaning against a nearby wall. Walking over to the bluehandler, with Cainsk following close behind, he asked, "Excuse me... Swithin, I believe? I've fed Cainsk, and he seems full... what do I do now? I don't believe I can bring Cainsk back to the Candidate barracks, but I haven't been assigned a wherhandler apartment... where do we go?"
M'gnum, noticing Annatolli, smiled down at the little girl, and gave her a warm smile as she greeted him. Walking with Serissa and Anna into the hatching room, he took note of the scene... two Candidates down and wounded... actually, from the two whers standing near them, it looked like they were wherlings now, not Candidates... no intact eggs... and what appeared to be two whers left still unImpressed. Still a chance for Serissa, and at least work for her to do even if she didn't Impress a wher.
As Serissa spotted the two fallen wherlings and he saw purpose and duty fill her limbs with energy and change her expression, he released the Healer to perform her duties, collecting Annatolli in his arms and quickly saying, "Lady Serissa must perform her duties, and we will only get in the way. Come with me, we can watch the rest of the hatching from over here. What is your name, young lady? I am M'gnum, of bronze Higginth. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." As he introduced himself, he herded Anna over to a nearby wall where they could observe the remainder of the hatching without getting in the way.

Swithin stood up a bit straighter when the much taller wherling approached him and he gave a friendly grin, "Well I suppose you'll have to get 'em off to sleep if he's full. Though you'll have to wait to get a room for that. Eikane will get around to all that when the hatching is over. Just a few more to go, so I'd suggest staying off to the side to avoid getting mauled. He'll get you all set up soon." He looked past Cainith's large form to see only two wher hatchlings were left un-Impressed thus far. Not that they had to Impress of course, they could choose to go wild, though he somehow doubted they would. Then looking back to the wherling he added, "Congratulations by the by. Name's Swithin, this is Swisk."
Offering his hand out for a handshake he continued to grin. The hatching had improved his mood quite a bit, he'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed earlier. Swisk for his part crooned to the larger man and then hobbled around him towards Cainsk to give another soft croon to the younger Blue. How exciting it was to have new whers around! He was a nice color too, and don't mind the fact you're a bit on the small side, Swisk thought reassuringly towards the hatchling. After all Swisk was small too - and frail, though he left that part out - and he did just fine. Could do anything any of the other whers could, even the Bronzes. Sometimes being small was a good thing, could catch people off guard because they don't expect as much from you.
Another light croon from Swisk and he scooted back, right into Ivy's legs. An apologetic look was given to the girl and he nuzzled her legs softly. Swisk didn't mean to knock into her, or scare her if he had. Sorry?
-----------
As Cainith spoke Ivy's smile only grew wider and she giggled a bit. "Where else would I be? Certainly not sleeping or anything like that." A playful wink was given and she looked down at Cainsk. "Wouldn't have wanted to miss out on meeting this little guy, now would I?"
Then she was being wrapped up in Cainith's strong arms and her own slipped around his frame to hug back. A brief kiss left her cheeks a bit rosier than they had been before and she bit at her bottom lip, wondering if wherlings were held to the same rules as weyrling were. The whole no romantic or physical relationships until their beasts were mature bit. She'd have to do some discreet asking about and find out. And then Cainith was gone, not too far though and she heard him asking a handler what to do now. Hearing Swithin's reply she looked around and eyed the last two of the hatchlings. A Green and a... teal? Whatever color the blue/green wher was it wasn't distinctively green nor blue - she wondered what gender it was? No way to tell unless someone Impressed it or asked she supposed. And she had no intention of doing either. Wher baby? No thank you, she'd just wait until another dragon clutch was around, whenever that might be.
Lost in her own thoughts and observations of the hatchlings she didn't notice as a skeletal Blue approached. So when he backed up into her legs she cried out and jumped a bit, overreacting just a tad. At first she thought it was one of the babies and she shook her head, "No, get away, shoo!" But then she realized it was already bonded. To that Swithin guy Cainith was talking to, making him Swisk. "Oh."
Embarrassed at her reaction she looked down at the Blue and offered an apologetic smile of her own, "Not your fault... Sorry I flipped out. Thought you were one of the babies. No offense but I'm just not cut out to be a wherhandler you know. No hard feelings?" She leaned down a bit and offered her hand out for him to sniff so she could scratch at his eyeridges if he let her.

The oddly matched pair of whers wandered toward Kaius and his female friends, and stumbled among them rather clumsily. Apparently whoever they wanted wasn’t there because they both backed away again, making apologetic sounds and whining. Vivano wondered what passed between them when they looked at each other. Then the little blue/green wher nudged the bronze on his way.
The baby gold didn’t seem to be inclined to move, Vivano noted absent mindedly before a heavy form plonked down by his feet, possibly because the remaining egg had started jerking around as if whatever wher was inside was thrashing violently. Huh? Vivano frowned slightly at the unfamiliar wher thoughts that reached him and looked down in confusion. ‘Oh.’ That seemed to about cover it, at least the reason for Vivask’s clumsiness and helper sibling was revealed by his left eye, which remained dull grey while the right showed a rainbow of colours. ‘Come on then, you’re probably hungry, hatchlings all seem to be. Not too much though, I still have to let your grandmother out of here and give her my opinions, I don’t think she was joking about that part.’
Vivask sighed and looked up appealingly, well he was a little hungry, yes (the coloured eye flashed red at this thought), but he’d just walked all the way over here. Couldn’t Vivano just bring him over a little something? The wher’s next reaction was undignified snort of surprise as Vivano moved around behind him, wrapped his arms around Vivask, and hauled the bronze up into a standing position. ‘Or you could come and get your food.’ The new handler replied, noting how big and heavy Vivask already was as he lifted the bronze’s hindquarters and set him on his paws. The bronze tried another soulful sigh and then relented as his bonded turned away and crossed the room without him. Okay. Vivano would need a little more work, but maybe not much if he was so obedient to granddam’s wishes already…
So absorbed was the hatchling in his plotting that he managed three stumbling steps in the direction Vivano had taken and then missed his footing entirely and ended up on his front on the floor, looking somewhat dazed. At least Vivano has returned for him. Vivask victory was short lived as his handler merely helped him stand again then moved to place his hip against Vivask’s shoulder. ‘Left foreleg first and let’s try and make this work.’ Vivano suggested once he had the bronze back on his feet.
By the time Vivano and Vivask had reached their goal most of the hatching seemed to be over. Only Vivask’s helpful blue/green sibling and a green remained, a blue sat next to the girl Vivask had knocked over, and Kaius was leaning on, oh this was just too good, the young gold. Vivano chuckled a little as he began feeding his wher. ‘Slowly, don’t inhale it, eat it.’ He cautioned, there’d be plenty of time to, ah, congratulate Kaius later.

Sleeping on the couch in the common rooms wasn’t treating any of them well. Especially not Sydney. Throughout most of the race to the handler apartments and the first part of the hatching everything was pretty much a hazy blur. She answered her friends with quiet murmurs as she struggled to clear the sleepy fog from her brain. She tightened her grip on Sena’s hand and nodded to Kaius and finally just as her head was starting to clear and thinking was getting easier she saw the two baby whers stumble their direction. Emerald eyes widening just a touch she managed to stutter out a quick, “Watch out!” and let go to Sena’s hand so that she could sidestep out of the way.
Once the knot of whers and humans finally cleared Sydney was horrified to see that not one but both her friends lay bleeding on the sands. Trying hard not to panic the candidate dropped to her knees by them both and started uttering reassurances even as she started to probe at their wounds to try and piece together a map of just how bad the damage really was. One arm wound around Sena as the older girl spoke to Kaius. “Hey, hey! Try and stay still and put some pressure on that Kaius.” Sydney soothed in a soft tone before ripping her shirt to make a compress to press against Sena’s wound. Best she could do was help keep these two stable until a healer with actual supplies got there.
As she worked Sydney caught movement out of the corner of her eye. She snapped her head around to look in that direction. Last thing she needed was more baby whers trying to run over her friends. But the approaching blue didn’t look like he wanted to run anyone over. No instead he looked like he wanted someone in the pile. Indeed in the next moment the little wher was trying to climb into her friend’s lap.
Blinking in surprise she managed a smile to her friend. “How about that Sena! You impressed. Told you you would.” She remarked as she continued to put pressure on the girls gashes. In the next moment the little baby gold was approaching and Sydney blinked in surprise as it impressed to none other then Kaius. Eyes widening to no doubt comical proportions a noise of surprise left her throat and then she managed another smile. “Well seems you got lucky too Kaius.” Even if she was gold. That meant both of her friends had impressed. Wow.
In the next moment Serissa had joined them and Sydney nodded to the older healer, letting her mostly take over and just helping where she could. Every so often she would glance at the two whers her friends had impressed. They actually were pretty cute. For whers anyway. The candidate tried not to think about her friends impressing without her. There were still a couple of babies left to impress right? So maybe all was not lost. First things first though. She had to make sure her friends were okay.

Eikask stood up as she noticed that her babies were doing fine. The last two would either Impress...or not. It was something of a relief that her mother had expanded to the new weyr since that meant any children that went wild would likely be safe enough. The gold padded over to her forgotten handler and crooned, brushing up against him. It would soon be time to direct the new wherlings to their rooms and give them instructions. Eikane patted his wher's head and went towards the exit of the hatching room.
The Prophetic Wher tilted their head when Serissa entered their field of vision and then crooned softly. There, the waiting was over now. Addressing their new handler the teal wher commented, I have been very patient but I am afraid I am very hungry and the other Fixer is here now. I suppose it is safe to let you know now that I am your Sydsk. My but that is a bit of a mouthful, my apologies. The green, for there was no denying the feel of her mind as feminine, approched Sydney and sat at her side.
That left the Mutual Green to make her choice. She wandered among the remaining candidates with faint disapproving hisses as she sensed her sister's intent, slashing out without really meaning to harm on occasion to make her point clear. Perhaps her siblings had taken all the good ones already and she ought to just leave? It was quite troublesome to have been the last to hatch. She made a decisive direction change for the exit and started padding that way. She'd just take her unpleasant self elsewhe- oh.
The green huffed and stopped moving, swinging her head to look at Serissa as she passed by to help the injured. She hesitated for a bit uncertainly before tossing a look at the door. Oh, whatever. She wandered over to Serissa quickly. Well then, why are you over here? You should have come to me immediately, she scolded Hers, approaching the knot of people. I am Sesk now and I am hungry. Fix these people quickly so that I may eat and then we can go to bed.
Eikask shook her head softly, crooning a farewell to her mother, before settling in to wait for her undoubtedly hungry babies to finish eating. Training would start soon enough!

Prophetic GreenBonded to: Sydney Name: Sydsk Color: Green #367588 #00A693Physical Appearance: The Prophetic green is perfectly average. Which, essentially, makes her perfectly perfect too. She's smack dab in the middle of the scale for a green. She's neither thin and dainty or thick and muscular. In appearance she is actually perfectly androgynous too, minus her size range (which isn't really an accurate way of identifying sex). Her only oddity isn't even physically noticeable. This green has beyond perfect eyesight. She can see further than most of her species can and, most curiously, is able to stand brighter sun than any other wher despite being part domestic - not that this makes her suited to a diurnal lifestyle, since high-noon is still damaging to her. Her wings are a bit small for her size and build. Her androgynous image continues with her colouring. She's a lovely teal in colour which makes it hard to tell whether she is a blue or a green simply by appearances. Her markings aren't exactly helpful either since they are more or less a brighter, maybe a tiny bit more green shade of teal. She has two war-paint like markings directly under her eyes as well as simple bands around the ankles of her feet that are about a hand thick. All in all, she has a rather simple but charming colouration. Her hide almost seems to shine when the moons hit her right and she positively glows when she is ready to mate - truly a diamond in the rough type of beauty. The Prophetic Green is a creature of rigid movements. Imagine the stereotypical soldier walk and apply it to all this green's movements and there you go. It doesn't have the misfortune to look uncomfortable and she will reassure any that ask that she finds moving in such a way actually comfortable. She is only capable of seeming loose and relaxed around the Lucid sibling alone. In fact, she'll even sleep sitting upright if that sibling isn't present. She's just barely capable of short gliding with the proper air currents but she makes up for it with sheer speed on the ground. She's damn fast when she tries. Personality: Polite and distant are two words that match this green extremely well. She treats everyone courteously, almost to a fault really. She is not outwardly bothered by insults to herself and so continues to treat those who dislike her with kindness. If she happens to glance at someone she knows well enough to be somewhat comfortable with - because, yes, despite her distant nature she can make friends - she'll send a faint pulse of scorn for whoever happens to be immature enough to insult her and outright dislike if it graduates into insulting the few she cares about. And few they will be, too. Hers is an obvious loved one but she also outright adores her Lucid sibling, albeit quietly. A couple others might sneak their way into her heart, usually the chromatic colours of any species. She will very rarely, if ever, proclaim just how much she likes someone. She would much rather show them through the actions she takes. She will not rub up against them or flirt or anything like that - she prefers to do practical or meaningful things for them. Protecting them, for example. She's a fierce fighter when she feels the cause is right and is rather good at it. What this green lacks in intelligence (in comparison to her siblings, anyways) she makes up for with hard work. She believes in a strict work ethic and gently (except in the case of the Lucid sibling. She's rather harsh with that one) pushes others to do the same. Certainly a no nonsense sort of wher, this one. She actually comes off as a bit intimidating to those that don't understand that she does things for their sake rather than just to be pushy. It's no hide off her back if they don't understand that though so she goes on her merry way regardless of their opinions. Mutual GreenBonded to: Serissa Name: Sesk Color: Green #808000 #826644 #7FFF00Physical Appearance: The Mutual Green is a bit smaller than average for a green, though if one took into account her twin brother then they might believe she could have been larger if she had her own egg. She has a slightly stunted tail fork and smaller than usual ridges. Her claws are prone to chipping and breaking. Her wings are absolutely tiny and are about as useful as the average salamandyr's wings are. Unlike her Mutual sibling she has enough meat on her bones that she doesn't look sickly though she does lack the strength other greens her size posess. She apparently got the better end of the stick in the egg...at least in form. She certainly did not luck out with her colouration. Her base is an unpleasant olive green on top of which she has dozens of light brown spots all over her hide, much like age spots. As if that wasn't bad enough this green has much the same banding that her brother does though they do differ some. There are several very close bands on her legs that line up with each other on each pair of legs as well as two bands around her neck. She also has one band around the end of her tail, just before where her tail fork is. Unfortunately for her these bands come in brilliantly clashing chartreuse green. When she moves quickly the bright bands on her legs also blur in an almost frightening way. When she runs to mate she barely glows at all. The Mutual Green moves with a self-assured grace. She knows who she is and what she looks like and is not afraid to be seen, or so she tries to communicate with just her body language. Beyond what she wants to project not much else can usually be read from her body language. Mostly because unless she actually is aggitated she doesn't feel quite enough for it to manifest physically. When she wants to be left alone, however, you can tell immediately. Her head will be lower and her mouth just barely open, ready to snarl at anyone who approaches. She's a fair runner but not that quick and has very little in the way of stamina. Also, she can't glide at all due to her wings. Personality: This green is amazingly easy going. It's almost impossible to elicit a passionate emotional response from her, particularly if it's a negative response. Subtle emotions frequently flit across her eyes, mainly a quiet contentment with life. Her nature makes her easy to go to for help because she very rarely denies anyone. Sometimes she may seem a bit too trusting in someone when she helps with mischief or other ill things but she'll simply argue that she's trying to make them feel supported and loved in order to turn them around. Often times, though, she likes the mischief to liven things up a bit since life can get awfully dull otherwise. She will never instigate it so others doing so gives her a bit of an excuse. She's a pretty individualistic girl. If she can do something on her own she will. She will also reject most help unless she's in dire need of it. Despite this individualistic streak she tends to indulge others, her twin in particular, when they want her attention. This does eventually lead to her having to force others to leave her alone to her thoughts. During those periods she's prone to lashing out a bit even though she does regret it afterwards. With Hers she's not very affectionate at all. She largely only appreciates Hers for the things they can do for her that she can't do so easily herself and attempts to be there for them for that reason only. She holds some fondness for them, of course, or she wouldn't have chosen them but it isn't the defining point of their relationship from her side. The Mutual Green is slow to judge others and never goes by the first impression unless it's proven right. Since she thinks herself unpleasant to look at she absolutely hates when others judge based on appearances. She will actually often go out of her way to get to know the socially-deemed uglies. Or the ones that think they are. She doesn't necessarily ignore those that do judge based on appearances but she does judge them on being too judgemental. She'll let them know it, too. She's not afraid of stating her opinion about things...on any thing. She's a pretty good sounding board for ideas, both good and bad, even though she can't always think of better ideas.

There was pretty much way too many things happening.
Sena made a soft mmph noise of protest, trying to hang onto Sydney and Sensk simultaneously, commenting dazedly in Kaius’s general direction, “His name’s Sensk…” The wher had gone silent, but his agitation was making her a little bit nauseous again. And jittery; she visibly jumped at Serissa’s approach and blinked blankly at her before she registered what Serissa was there for. Then she made a thoroughly embarrassing sound of horror and jerked back from Serissa, pulling a terrified Sensk with her, the blue scrambling to keep up, “Oh no no hold on don’t I’m allergic not a good idea Sensk stop please don’t—redwort, I’m allergic to redwort! Sydney—”
She turned automatically towards her best friend; Sydney was good with herbs, Sydney knew, Sydney could—oh. Sydney could Impress, apparently. Sena blinked, eyes wide, at the green-blue wher sitting beside Sydney, and for a split second the chaos vanished into complete uncontrollable delight, “Oh wow oh my god…” They’d all Impressed. Kaius had even Impressed. There’d be no splitting up after this, no being left behind and…and Aunt Iski would have to be told and she and Ioth and oh, Azzy too, they’d all have to meet Sensk and…
Sensk licked her wrist anxiously, whining at her again, and his sharp anxiety took the sparkling edges off of Sena’s excitement. She wound her arms around the blue, head dipping to rest against his shoulder. And to his credit, Sensk made a good show of shouldering her weight, licking her cheek soothingly. It would’ve been considerably more convincing if she couldn’t feel exactly how terrified he was, and if he hadn’t been simultaneously trying to press himself ever closer to her. Sena did her best to pull Sensk into her lap, trying not to hurt herself even more in the process, adding, quieter, faintly embarrassed by her outburst, “I’ll just, uh, wait, I don’t think I’m gonna bleed out and redwort is just…not good…”
