Erno was excited. This would be his first time meeting a baby dragon (since the hatching anyway), and he'd been paired with Vellani! T'vis had been Erno's first choice, exclusively so he could tell the Weyrling I TOLD you so!, but he was thrilled with Vellani, too. Honestly, Erno would have been thrilled with just about anyone. He was excited for all of the Weyrlings, even if he wasn't one of them. This time, at least. He'd been right about T'vis, after all, maybe Nephele would be right about him, too. Anyway, Buram hadn't impressed, and Erno desperately hoped the pair of them would get to go through Weyrling training together, so he wasn't that disappointed.
And he got to meet a baby dragon!
As such, he appeared at the assigned spot early, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in a crisp white shirt and sensible gray pants. That was a fairly boring outfit, though, so he'd accessorized with a bright red, patterned bow tie, just for fun. Of course, the Candidatemaster hadn't actually told Erno what part of the baby dragon care he'd be helping Vellani with, so he'd brought something appropriate for swimming, too, because who knew - maybe he'd be bathing Gweneveth. As long as he didn't get stuck feeding the green, he'd be happy. Raw meat wasn't Erno's favorite thing - he himself ate meat only sparingly, and only when absolutely necessary - so he was crossing his fingers.
