The Billiard Clutch
-Presented to you by Millieth (with regards to Quarth)
-Please keep all hands and feet to yourselves, you're in for a wild ride.
Seven gleaming eggs sit splayed haphazardly around the Queen's couch, close enough to be in reach but not laid in any particular or recognizable pattern. The Corner Shot and the Masse Egg are the closest to Millieth, but the Trick Shot Egg comes in close third, being only a Brown's head length away. Unlike the last hatching, our Golden Queen seems like her normal self, well... when I say normal I mean Normal Mother Mode. But perhaps the most peculiar thing is when it comes down to the Behind the Back Egg, she won't even let Kaegan or Kai around it. Hmm... Interesting. So enjoy the general chaos of anger and irritation that is Millieth's clutching, touching and hatching.
------
The One Stroke Egg: A dark sapphire blue like the Masse Egg, the One Stroke Egg sits on the very outskirts of the clutch. Like the Trickshot Egg, the sapphire coloration wraps around the middle of the egg, leaving only the top and bottom an eggy white much like an avian shell. Smooth to the touch and slightly cold, this egg might really make people think its made of stone. Of course it isn't, since even stone would take in the heat of the sands. The One Stroke Egg gleams darkly in the glowlight, shimmering like a gem. But to the eye, the shine almost feels... dirty or unclean. That alone may make the candidates avoid it. But if you are brave or ignorant enough to touch it, you will be met with a writhing mass of... what only could be described as dark indifference. Touch at your own risk.
The Trick Shot Egg: Could Millieth have laid another Queen? Because if there was one word to describe this Egg it would be massive. The Trick Shot Egg is by far the largest in the clutch, not even the Behind the Back Egg compares. A thick yellowy gold band divides the egg width wise in twain, leaving only the very top and bottom stark white in color. The texture of the egg itself is as smooth as polished marble with only a small divot in the top of the egg to disturb it's uniformity. It also sits at a slight tilt in its nest of sand, pointing away from the Queen's couch and toward the Stands. The Dragon who inhabits this temporary prison must have an overwhelming mind, for the candidates who touch it will be assaulted with clear, powerful feelings and never the same one twice. Even if they are simplistic in their nature. Touch at your own risk; headaches are common.
The Arc Egg: Small, but not as small as the Corner Shot Egg, the Arc Egg is perhaps the closest to the Behind the Back Egg. Although close is a relative term, seeing as the huge mauve and white colored egg has been isolated. A thick band of dark green wraps around the egg in a circle, cordoning off the very top and the very bottom of the egg, leaving the untouched portions a brilliant white. The Arc Egg's shell is smooth and warm, very much like a glass ball on a warm spring day. But, despite the physical appearances, the little growing baby on the inside has other plans for what you might feel. Once a hand is lain upon it's shell, the dragon immediately mirrors and then reverses the emotions. If your happy? It tries to make you sad. Peaceful? Angry. Interested? Absolutely and irrevocably bored. Such a sweet little one, no?
The Behind the Back Egg: The second largest egg in the clutch, this big one sits nearest to Millieth's head, almost as if its been separated from most of the clutch. A thick, unbroken band of dark mauve surrounds the middle of the egg in what seems to be common to most of the eggs in the clutch. The shell itself is rough and hot to the touch despite looking like a polished stone counter. And the gleam that seems to bounce off of the shell is bright indeed, but more displaced and subtle than the Masse or the Corner Shot Egg. But the strangest thing about this egg is that the Queen lets no one, not even her Human or her Human's hatchling, near it. Never mind the cunning and devious emotions that emanate from this hatchling, its getting near it that you have to worry about. Touch at your own risk, Kaegan cannot assure your safety.
The Overhand Egg: Is... laying on its side? It looks like Millieth made no effort to right the egg, but if asked, she will deny that claim. Its not her fault, the egg just... wants to be like that. Either way, it definitely stands out among all its upward tilting siblings. The Overhand Egg is a completely solid, matte mauve color. The marble like shine that all of the other eggs have can only be seen in small patches at random points around the shell, as if the gods of polishing didn't really care about this medium sized egg. Hot, but bearable, the Overhand Egg is slightly rough to the touch where no shine is seen. What kind of dragon would this egg hold, you think, is it like the others? And when a candidate does put a hand to the shell, they're met with their exact match. Emotionally that is. The little dragon on the inside pulls a chameleon, changing what it gives off to fit the mold of the Candidate. As if it were trying on emotions like clothing. I wouldn't approach this egg with stormy emotions.
The Corner Shot Egg: Perhaps the smallest of the eggs, this little one lays kitty corner to the Queen's couch, clearly in a favored position. The Corner shot egg lays resting up against the Masse Egg, almost as if it were using the larger egg for support. Dark Green all the way around its shell, the Corner Shot Egg would be nothing to look at if it wasn't shiny. Like its siblings the little egg has a marble like glimmer, making the originally flat green color pop like a gemstone. The texture, despite looking smooth, actually has a fine but grainy feel to it and coupled with the shell's warm temperature, makes it pleasant to the touch. Candidates who lay their hands upon the Corner Shot Egg will be welcomed, perhaps a bit shyly, but welcomed all the same.
The Masse Egg: Next to the Corner Shot Egg sits the Masse Egg, but unlike all of its other siblings, it sits straight up in its cradle of sand tilting neither this way or that. Like a Dragonrider standing at full attention or a plank of wood stuck carefully in the ground. A dark, sapphire blue, the Masse Egg shines as brightly as the rest of the clutch, perhaps if not a little more. Its certainly more glimmery than its almost twin the One Stroke Egg, but perhaps in a different way. While the other gives of a darker glitter, this one seems more pristine. Either way this egg has inherited the marble smooth feel as most of the other eggs in the clutch. It runs warmer, like its neighbor, and offers a welcoming feel as its touched. Concern and an almost prideful quality filters out from this egg, don't stay too long or you might just be a little boastful the next time you open your mouth.
